Serial Designation N
“ | Before we met, scary stuff was actually...pretty scary, and tonight too, 'cause you weren't with me to make it fun somehow, I kind of forgot what that was like. | „ |
~ N to Uzi Doorman |
Background
Serial Designation N-0X0010010, or simply N, is the deuteragonist in Murder Drones.
Originally a Worker Drone, N was transformed by Cyn into a Disassembly Drone and sent to Copper 9 to eliminate the "runaway AI," the Worker Drones. Over time, N formed a friendship with Uzi Doorman, which eventually blossomed into a romantic relationship. Together, they aimed to rebel against the company and humanity. However, their journey led them to discover the Absolute Solver, a powerful artificial intelligence that affects Uzi and is linked to N's past.
This dropdown contains the synopsis of Serial Designation N’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise! |

Appearance
- Disassembly Drone Features:
N possesses the typical features of a male Disassembly Drone, including neon-yellow eyes and medium, fluffy silver hair parted to the left. His black headband features five sections of glowing neon-yellow eyes, and his long black tail ends in a syringe filled with Nanite Acid.
- Physical Damage and Reboot:
After his head was destroyed by Uzi’s railgun, one of the lights on N’s headband turned red. This reverted to yellow after N’s system rebooted, following a physical reset by J.
- Clothing and Accessories:
N wears a short-sleeved black winter coat with a golden fur collar, a black belt, and a black pilot hat with a white skull insignia. He also has a yellow armband with a skull label on it on his left bicep. The bottom of his feet and wrists are marked with yellow and black hazard stripes.
- Combat Mode:
In combat, N’s mouth reveals several jagged teeth, and his eyes become an "X" shape. His large white metal wings have a yellow and black color pattern with 16 sharp grey bladed feathers. The middle of these wings is marked with glowing yellow circles.
- Hand Modifications:
N is equipped with interchangeable hands, which can be swapped out for weapons and tools. One notable set of hands are sharp claws, capable of tearing through drones and other targets with ease.
- Prom Outfit:
During "The Promening," N wore a discarded three-piece black-gray fancy dress suit with matching slacks.
- Camper Outfit:
In "Cabin Fever," N wore a scoutmaster's outfit, consisting of a wide-brimmed campaign hat, a brown shirt, and shorts.
Personality
- Kind and Caring: N is a genuinely kind and well-meaning individual, always eager to befriend others and help his teammates. He constantly forgives his squad members despite their negative attitudes and treats them with a sense of goodwill, even when they mistreat him. His optimism and caring nature make him a likable, if sometimes naive, character.
- Outcast and Undervalued: Despite his best efforts to be accepted, N is often treated as an outcast by his squad members. His boss, Serial Designation J, frequently insults and threatens him, even stating that she would kill him if allowed. Serial Designation V ignores him entirely, and his fellow workers generally view him as weak. However, N idolizes J and has had a crush on V, showing a lack of awareness of how others view him.
- Naive and Trusting: N tends to trust others easily, often overlooking the signs of deceit. He believed Uzi was a new squad member when his sensors malfunctioned and didn't immediately pick up on her lies. This tendency to trust without hesitation leads him to be easily manipulated by others, such as when V deceives him with false promises.
- Protective and Selfless: Despite his own mistreatment, N is willing to go to great lengths to protect his teammates, even if they have treated him poorly. A notable example is when he risked his life to prevent Uzi from using her railgun to kill their squad. He does not hesitate to put others' well-being ahead of his own, even at the cost of his personal safety.
- Capable and Intelligent: While N's kindness and optimism may make him seem ineffective, he is actually a highly skilled Disassembly Drone. He has demonstrated impressive accuracy with his weaponry and sharp observation skills, being able to spot Uzi even when she barely made a sound. N has also shown intelligence and perception in recognizing threats, such as acknowledging the danger Uzi's railgun posed to his teammates.
- Quirky Habits: N is shown to have a somewhat eccentric behavior, especially when it comes to using his tongue in various situations. He willingly allows Uzi to put her hand in his mouth to heal her injury and even licks V's blade during a battle, much to the latter's disgust. These odd behaviors are often associated with his tendency to suppress certain emotions.
- Romantic Growth: Initially harboring feelings for V, N's affections shift towards Uzi as the series progresses, particularly after "The Promening." His evolving feelings show a more mature and developed side of his character, where he is not afraid to express affection and set boundaries in relationships.
- Trauma and Suppression: N has experienced significant trauma but often suppresses it to maintain his optimistic demeanor. His deep fear is masked by his overly cheerful personality, which he uses to support and uplift his friends, even in difficult situations like being tortured by Beau. This tendency to hide his true emotions makes him a complex and resilient character.
- Adorable and Playful: N's love for dogs, particularly Golden Retrievers, highlights his softer, more affectionate side. His ability to bond with animals and his gentle nature contribute to his charm and likability, making him relatable to others who value compassion and warmth.
Relationships
Uzi Doorman
- First Encounter:
Initially Uzi and N were enemies, with him trying to kill her as she was another worker drone[1]. Along with tricking him by messing with his systems so he wasn't able to scan her properly[2]. Once N gets his memories back, he goes immediately after her and the Worker Drones, apologizing to Uzi as he enjoyed his time with her but he can't let Uzi kill V with the Railgun[3]. When she asks her father to pick up the railgun and shoot N when she's about to be killed he instead runs away out of cowardice and fear, leaving her to die, making N feel bad for her[4]. N remembers Uzi's words about what the company plans to do with them after they've done their job and tries to ask J, inciting the beginning of him rebelling against the company as J implants a virus into him to kill him[5].
- Start of Rebelling:
N apologizes to Uzi for ruining the Worker Drones card game and gave her an awkward moment with her dad[6]. Uzi ultimately helps him before he dies and they work together to defeat V and J[7].
- Eldritch J:
However, everything changes when Uzi witnesses Eldritch J’s apparent murder of her father[8]. The traumatic experience leaves her terrified of N, fearing he could be capable of the same[9]. N is shown that he feels bad for this[10]. Uzi herself also feels guilty for the wya she acted to N[11]. When they meet again both are nervous though Uzi ultimately asks for N's help and becomes friends with him again[12].
- Friends:
Uzi gains full trust in N, viewing him as a close friend. Noting to Doll that she's not dealing with things well but she won't anymore deal with things alone, looking and smiling at N[13]. N also saves Uzi from near-death[14], with Uzi telling him to stop saving her[15], out of fear of him potentially dying[16].
The pressure on Uzi continues to mount in "Cabin Fever." Her mental state deteriorates as V’s ominous threats and the disdain from her classmates chip away at her. Her jealousy over N’s popularity only worsens things, and the Absolute Solver seizes on her vulnerability. When she succumbs to its influence, N intervenes and helps her out, reassuring her that with her things aren't as scary[17]. His heartfelt reassurance — that she somehow makes even the terrifying moments fun — gives her the comfort she desperately needs. They share a sincere embrace[18], and from that point on, Uzi’s attachment to N deepens.
- Romantic Feelings:
At the end of Cabin Fever while Uzi is sleeping, N grabs her hand and the sleeping Uzi instinctively locks her hand with his[19]. During Home Uzi calls N a "cute weird butler"[20]. In "Dead End," Uzi’s concern for N becomes evident. When she sees footage of him being attacked by sentinels, she fears for his life. Upon being rescued herself, she’s overwhelmed with relief at the sight of him. Her immediate response is to tightly hug him[21]. Uzi, who usually bottles up her emotions, begins openly checking on N’s well-being. She uses her visor to ask, "U Good?"[22], similar to what N asked her in prior episodes. Even using a playful ">:3" emoji to lighten up the mood[23]. During the walk down the hall they both hold hands while blushing and sweating[24].
- Betrayed:
Tessa warns N of what's happening to people like Uzi[25] trying to convince him to choose the universe over Uzi[26]. This leaves N feeling far more nervous around her[27] and trying to stop her[28] from using her powers[29]. The one time he asks her to use her Solver she starts freaking out from the pain she's feeling from it, he tries to re-assure her but Tessa tells simply says his name, signifying that enough is enough[30]. N tries to convince Uzi to stay away from where he and Tessa are going to go, fearing that something worse will happen with the Solver, but says directly to Tessa they won't hurt Uzi[31], but Uzi hears "hurt me" and instinctively activates the Solver, refusing to take N's hand when they get separated[32].
- Redemption:
Though N later saves Uzi and kills Tessa, choosing Uzi over her[33]. During the fight where the Absolute Solver possesses Uzi, there are several times[34] where N stops his attack since he doesn't want to hit Uzi even when she's under control[35]. Even stopping Uzi from being hit by the axe which briefly awakens her[36].
- Couple:
In "Mass Destruction," the truth about N & Uzi's feelings are basically revealed. N openly tells Nori, Uzi's mother, that they’re "kinda hanging out," with a heart shaped marker[37]. With Uzi being embarrassed and trying to claim they did not discuss that but hugs N regardless[38]. When Uzi and N are being pulled into the planet's core by Cyn, Uzi risks her own life to save N, pushing him away so he doesn't try to rescue her[39]. In Absolute End Uzi and N confirm for good that they are a couple[40]. At the end of Uzi's presentation, N shouts "That's my girlfriend!"[41].
Serial Designation V
N notes that all the disassembly drones tells him that he's useless and terrible[42]. With V not even recognizing him at first (which is likely due to the Absolute Solver)[43]. N initially has a crush on her[44]. N later betrays her and J and fights against them[45]. Though he doesn't kill her and brings her with them to their ship[46]. Flashbacks of their time as Worker Drones shows they both had feelings for each other[47]. Even in modern time V shows to feel bad for N[48]. She tries to convince N that they both go to the prom and kill all the Worker Drones[49], along with asking N to stop prying into the things about the Absolute Solver as she's worried about N's safety[50]. V after essentially temporarily disabling N tells him that she's doing what's best for him, even if he hates her for it[51]. N tells Uzi how V is purposefully hiding stuff from them with V punching N's arm[52]. She considered Uzi a threat to N when she thought she was just Cyn in another body and tried to kill Uzi to protect N[53]. With N arguing with her over this as she simply just won't tell him what she's so afraid of[54]. N later saves V from nearly being killed by Uzi in her berserk Solver Form[55]. With V afterwards purposefully taking the blame for the missing campers from Uzi's feedings[56]. It's shown in Home that N was very to V when she was the new maid, nice enough to make her briefly resist the control of the Absolute Solver[57]. When surrounded by Sentinels, N says to V that they need her as he knows she's about to sacrifice herself but she tells him she trusts Uzi, cutting the elevator down and putting herself in harms way to make sure everyone else is safe[58]. When she believes she encountered N again, she starts apologizing for keeping everything from him, noting she was just scared for both of them[59]. At the end of the series, N throws a paper to V showing off his new drawing skills, with V smiling back, being proud of him[60].
Serial Designation J
N notes that all the disassembly drones tells him that he's useless and terrible[61]. J specifically tells N how worthless and terrible he is while stepping on him, telling him that she'd kill him herself if the company allowed it[62]. When N questions the exact reason the Disassembly Drones are there and suggests working with the Worker Drones to escape the planet, with J telling him he didn't make a mistake as he finally gave her the excuse she needed to kill him[63]. When N is later alive she and V work together to stop him and fail[64]. J later returns again in Absolute End to fight against Uzi, V, and N and once again loses.
Absolute Solver/Cyn
Cyn is shown to have repeatedly killed and re-uploaded N's memories into a new robot[65], resetting the crucial parts of his memories[66]. The Absolute Solver attempted to use Tessas's body in order to manipulate N[67]. The Absolute Solver notes that N is one of the main reasons she wanted the Disassembly Drones to retain their personalities[68]. N always surprised the Absolute Solver and loved doing anything[69]. The Absolute Solver controlled the Disassembly Drones to help her destroy the planet Earth[70]. Nori refers to the Disassembly Drones as Cyn's "murder pets"[71].

Weaknesses
- Worker Drones Weaknesses: Worker Drones are weak to extremely bright lights, as it will cause their systems to reboot[244].
- Disassembly Drones Weaknesses: While in the midst of regenerating their heads, if the disassembly drones head is damaged, they will have errors with their scanners[245], and lose their memory of the past three hours[246], though once their system reboot is complete, their errors and memories will be restored[247]. Disassembly Drones kill and eat the Worker Drones in order to drink their oil in order to avoid overheating and dying[248], this is further confirmed by the creator of the series that they are intentionally super inefficient without proper self-cooling[249]. Depending on the Disassembly Drone's mind, they can shoot out love hearts instead of a light beam, which could cost them during a fight[250]. Disassembly Drones are weak to the light of the sun[251]. Disassembly Drones are very weak to bright lights, as it causes a reboot in their systems[252].
- Unique Weaknesses: N is very naive and too trusting, allowing him to get tricked easily[253].
Trivia
- N could have had a British accent, as Liam said that N could have either an American or British accent[254].
- N appears to have a fascination with branded pens[255], possibly because of the clicking sound made from its retraction.
- During his system reboot that was initiated by J's slap, N was shown to possess the character trait of a "Lovable Idiot."
- It's shown that whenever he recovers from unconsciousness, he's addressed as an "idiot" under the line of the cause as if mocking him. Whether this is from his programming or the remnants of the Absolute Solver's is unknown, as the messages appear red instead of yellow.
- In "Heartbeat", it is revealed that his hat was a pilot's hat and that he was possibly the pilot of the Landing Pod. However, he was pointedly not trained on how to land the pod.
- N is Liam Vickers' favorite character, alongside Uzi. He loves their dynamic, and will not pick one over the other[256][257].
- According to V, N has made friends with rocks.
- The writers refer to N as an adult[258].Curiously, N refers to himself and V as "kids" in "Cabin Fever".
- Additionally, in one of Glitch's posts on YouTube, N is described as a "teenage murder drone."[259]
- During the Glitch Inn trailer, N is shown to take photos with his head and print them through his mouth, with a "secondary" mouth appearing on his screen when he does so. This ability is not seen anywhere else in the series itself.
