Introduction

Physiology is a branch of biology that deals with the functions and activities of life or of living matter. While State of Being is more esoteric and more of the spiritual and philosophical side of a character, physiology is more of the scientific and physical side of their being.

Examples

As there's no true list of all physiologies as there's trillions of different species in fiction alone, we can only list a few examples here of some of the most common types seen in fiction.

Humanoid Physiology

Humanoid Physiology is for those who possess a humanoid body. The most common type being the human species, though there are fictions where there will be clear unnamed alien species that look perfectly human.

Animal Physiology

Animal Physiology is a general term for a being that's not a regular homosapien and instead an animal. This can go to Avian Physiology for birds, Spider Physiology, Snake Physiology, etcetera. The specific animal should have its noted physiology on the page.

Alien Physiology

Alien Physiology is for a character that has completely alien features, if they have a specific species then that species name should be put into the physiology, as an example. Starfire from Teen Titans is a Tamaranean, so she would have Tamaranean Physiology, if an official species name isn't given, for alien species with no real species names that still display a humanoid figure, they should just be given Humanoid Physiology. Alien Physiology can be given if they're an unnamed alien species that do not look remotely humanoid.

Inorganic Physiology

Inorganic Physiology is for characters that lack any organic substance but still live.

Digital Physiology

For characters made purely of data.

Angel Physiology

Angel Physiology is for a character that is canonically an angel.

Demon Physiology

Demon Physiology is for a character that's canonically a demon.

Yōkai Phsyiology

Yōkai Physiology is for a character that's canonically a yōkai.

Deity Physiology

Deity Physiology is for a character that's canonically a deity.

None

For characters that have no physiology, normally for characters that don't exist or cannot be defined properly.
