Background

The Rookie, is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are a customizable character whose appearance is dictated by the player. An ordinary citizen, the Rookie took part in the war against the Eggman Empire after it began gaining ground. After months of service in the field, they joined the Resistance as the group's newest recruit. Although initially lacking in courage, their burgeoning sense of heroism allowed them to rise to prominence among heroes like Sonic the Hedgehog, with whom they formed a strong partnership, and, in the final days of the war, be a crucial element in helping the Resistance reclaim the world from Dr. Eggman’s domination.

Codex Statistics

Grade: A

Tier: At least 7-C

Dimensionality: 3-D

Durability: At least Town level, rings make them incredibly difficult to kill

Striking Strength: At least Town Class

Lifting Strength: Unknown, possibly Class M (Should be comparable to Sonic)

Travel Speed: Supersonic (Can somewhat keep up with Sonic the Hedgehog and Classic Era Sonic), Speed of Light with Cyan Wisp (The Cyan Laser Wisp transforms the Rookie into a laser)

Attack Speed: At most Relativistic

Reaction Speed: At most Relativistic (Fought Infinite who previously casually dodged Sonic's boost)

Stamina: At least Peak Human (Fought in a war with likely very little rest between each mission. Somewhat comparable to Sonic the Hedgehog)

Range: Standard Melee, Extended Melee with Drill Wispon, Tens of Meters with most Wispons, Hundreds of Meters with Burst Wispon

Intelligence: Gifted Intelligence combat wise (Fought Infinite in one on one combat while the latter had previously easily defeated Sonic, they are also quite skilled at using different kind of wispons)

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Acrobatics, Weapon Mastery (Rookie can effectively use seven different type of wispons), Self-Sustenance (Respiratory Self-Sustenance; Should be able to breath in space as this is very common for sonic characters), Limited Acausality (Future or Past Defiance; The future in Sonic is essentially unwritten and constantly changing with events Sonic and co. do in the present affecting the future), Immortality (Type 3), Regeneration (Mid; can regen from being crushed), Enhanced Senses, Dimensional Storage (Can keep Rings on hand despite having no place to put them), Sheer Will (Rookie was able to activate the Phantom Ruby prototype, which Eggman and Infinite point out only a being with strength of will could activate it), Fire Manipulation, Explosion Manipulation and limited Flight (Via Burst Wispon, which is normally used as a flamethrower and it's special action allows Rookie to preform explosion which they can use to fly), Electricity Manipulation (Via Lightning Wispon, which attacks with a lighting based whip), Sealing, Transmutation and Creation (Via Cube Wispon, which seals the opponent in a cube that when destroyed makes them become rings and it's special action allows rookie to create cubes to stand on), Duplication, Invulnerability and Magnetism (Via Asteroid Wispon, which attacks using clones and it's special action grants Rookie invincibility along with drawing nearby items to them), Burrowing and Surface Scaling (Via Drill Wispon, it's special action allows rookie to scale walls and dig through the ground), Shockwave Generation and Flight (Via Hover Wispon, which blows away enemies with a shockwave and it's special action allows rookie to fly), Black Hole Creation, Absorption and Teleportation (Via Void Wispon, which Sucks in enemies with a black hole and it's special action allows Rookie to teleport),
Illusion Creation and Perception Manipulation (Type 3; It can create illusion that can harm and kill others along with messing with one's perception of reality), Creation, Pocket Reality Manipulation and Battlefield Removal (Can create a closed-off space called null space to banish his opponents), Mimicry (Physiology Mimicry; It can create replicas of others who's powers are as formidable as the originals), Duplication (It allows one to duplicate themselves), Teleportation (Infinite uses it to teleport), Energy Projection (Infinite uses it to attack with lasers), Limited Resistance to Illusion Creation and Perception Manipulation (It can cancel out the use of another Phantom Ruby prototype)
Transformation (Wisps will transform Rookie's body), Burrowing (With drill wisps, can burrow into the ground and dig around), Empowerment (White wisps gives Rookie the power to boost), Statistics Amplification (Cyan Laser and White Wisp Boost greatly increases Rookie's speed), Surface Scaling (Pink Spikes and Gray Quake scale all kinds of surfaces), Energy Projection (Cyan laser is a laser), Fire Manipulation and Explosion Manipulation (The Red Burst attacks with flames and explosive bursts. Black Bomb utilizes explosions), Electricity Manipulation (Ivory Lightning attacks with electricity), Magnetism Manipulation (Can draw in rings with Ivory Lightning), Invisibility and Intangibility (Jade Ghost makes Rookie invisible and intangible), Deconstruction & Gravity Manipulation (Indigo Asteroid has its own gravitational pull, which deconstruct objects it pulls in), Space-Time Manipulation (The Violet Void bends space-time to absorb rings), Consumption & Size Manipulation (Type 1; With Purple Frenzy, the more they eat, the larger they grow), Text Manipulation & Sound Manipulation (With Magneta Rhytm, can create rhytm notes to bounce on), Spike Manipulation (With the pink spikes, can transform into a spike being), Flight (With green hover, allows him to fly. The Orange Rocket, grants one the ability to fly. Crimson Eagle grants flight. With Rhtym Wisp, can repeatedly hop on the notes to essentially stay in the air), Limited Transmutation (With cube, transforms all blocks near it)

Equipment

  • Grappling hook: A wrist-mounted grappling hook which can detach its rope at command. The rope is both long and strong enough to tie up three mass-produced Death Egg Robots at once.
  • Rings: The Ring, also known as the Gold Ring, is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Rings serve as a unique health system in gameplay throughout most of the series; in most cases, as long as the players hold even one Ring, it will protect them from losing a life upon taking damage. Instead, the players lose a portion of their Rings, though the amount varies between games. Aside from this, Rings have served many other purposes in different games, and collecting them grants things like extra lives, Continues and points. Though of unknown origin, Rings can be found everywhere on earth and other places beyond time and space. They are most commonly found everywhere in the different games' levels, but can also be obtained from Item Boxes, Badniks and other sources.
  • Burst Wispon: A Wispon that harnesses the Hyper-go-on energy of the Red Wisp in order to attack with fire. It's special action triggers an explosion that shoots the rookie into the air.
  • Lightning Wispon: A Wispon that harnesses the Hyper-go-on energy of the Ivory Wisp in order to attack with a whip of lightning. It's special action makes the rookie move at lightning-fast speeds near Rings or enemies.
  • Cube Wispon: A Wispon that harnesses the Hyper-go-on energy of the Blue Wisp in order to turn an enemy into a cube that drops Rings when broken. It's special action allows the rookie to create a platform, even in mid-air.
  • Asteroid Wispon: A Wispon that harnesses the Hyper-go-on energy of the Indigo Wisp in order to lock on to multiple enemies at the same time using clones. It's special action grants invincibility and draws nearby items to the Rookie.
  • Drill Wispon: A Wispon that harnesses the Hyper-go-on energy of the Yellow Wisp in order to attack with a drill. It's special action allows the Rookie to dig through the ground.
  • Hover Wispon: A Wispon that harnesses the Hyper-go-on energy of the Green Wisp in order to blow away enemies with a shockwave. It's special action allows the Rookie to fly through the air.
  • Void Wispon: A Wispon that harnesses the Hyper-go-on energy of the Violet Wisp in order to suck in enemies and Rings with a black hole. It's special action allows the Rookie to teleport.
  • Phantom Ruby prototype: The Phantom Ruby prototype is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a type of artificial duplicates of the real Phantom Ruby created by Dr. Eggman that possess similar powers as the original, but with more restrictions to their usage.

Optional Equipment

Wisps: Wisps are creatures that appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are a diminutive, yet powerful alien species from Planet Wisp, although they can be found on many other planets across the universe. During one of Dr. Eggman's plots, the Wisps were kidnapped and enslaved by the doctor until Sonic the Hedgehog freed them. While most of the Wisps went home after that, some of them decided to stay on Sonic's world after taking a liking to it, and they have been living happily on Sonic's world ever since. Now, in remembrance of Sonic's deeds, the Wisps are ready to offer him, and his allies help whenever needed. There are numerous breeds of Wisps, each with its own special ability. When a Wisp enters a person, they bestow upon them a certain Color Power that grant them new and powerful abilities, but only if that person is someone they can trust.

Other

Standard Tactics: Rookie will use their wispons for range attack while outmaneuvering their opponent

Weaknesses: Used to be cowardly (This is resolved during the events of forces), their Phantom Ruby prototype will shatter if it uses too much power

Note 1: While rookie never used wisps to transform it's cause their wispons can use the color power without needing too. If they truly wanted to, they could use wisps to transform.

Note 2: As both Rookie and Infinite's Phantom Rubies are prototypes (Infinite's is just the finalized version) they should power scale, altough the Rookie would likely never use it in character.
