Background

Neko Majin Z is one of the main protagonists in Akira Toriyama's one-shot manga Nekomajin. He also appears in the spin-off manga Dragon Ball Heroes: Victory Mission by Toyotarō.

Neko Majin Z practices martial arts and is a student of Goku; this is why he wears a fighting gi similar to Goku's earlier outfits, but with his own designated kanji symbols on the front and back. On the cover of the final chapter of Nekomajin, "Neko Majin Z 5", where he appears alongside his mentor Goku, Neko Majin Z can be seen equipped with the Power Pole and riding a Flying Nimbus. His cloud is purple on this cover, though an earlier adaption shows him riding on a standard, yellow-colored Flying Nimbus.

Chi Manipulation & Ki Manipulation (All beings in Dragon Ball have ki, the very life force energy of all characters, ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even block attacks that would otherwise kill them from raising their guard, higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them), Aura (Projection; A users ki aura can exert itself as a weapon to attack. Explosive; Ki users through powering up can form an entire aura around themself, radiating their immense power, where depending on their immense strength, can cause them to explode their aura outwards to remove excess ki from themself. Mood Reflection; Goku and Piccolo Jr. with their auras and their stern concentration on each other reflected in their electric auras, even shooting electricity at each other), Emotional Empowerment (It's noted that ki users can receive energy through one cheering them on. Ki users can be greatly increased by their emotions and beliefs, Son Goku explains that Son Gohan needs to remember the time he fought Cell and bring out all of the power he has, this way he can lose to no one where it's shown during the Cell beam clash that he was holding back greatly out of fear of destroying the earth but from being cheered on and using all of his power within him, he was able to overpower Cell), Attack Reflection (All Ki users are able to reflect attacks just by being stronger than their opponent. Goku showcases this when he first turns super saiyan, causing a massive lightning storm in the background), Energy Manipulation (Ki is the latent power in one's body, this latent power allows them to form and create energy from controlling their ki, which can be used to shoot out energy blast), Explosion Manipulation (Ki attacks can create massive explosions, or control the ki to set off a huge explosion under the enemy, or in front of them), Heat Manipulation (Ki user's ki attacks produce heat allowing them to cook and grill animals and raw meat, along with leaving behind steam after the attacks hit an area, showing its latent heat. Notable Techniques

• Flight: The ability to fly with the use of ki.
• Nekohameha: Z's version of the trademark Kamehameha technique. It is likely that Z created this technique after witnessing his mentor Goku perform the Kamehameha, but how it differs from the original wave is unknown. Also, like Goku's Flying Kamehameha attack, Z can perform a similar attack while flying upward and charging the Nekohameha.
• Mimicry: The unique ability to copy, use, and even alter witnessed techniques, and in Z's case, transformations. One notable instance is when, after Z has been overpowered by Super Saiyan Onio, the Neko Majin reveals a form that he calls Super Neko Majin, to parody Super Saiyan. In another instance, Z performs the same type of one-handed energy wave that Vegeta had used against him just previously.
• Energy Wave: A generic one-handed energy blast. After Vegeta hit him with his energy wave, Z performs a similar blast himself. The attack is also used by Neko Majin Mike.
• Full Power Energy Wave: A two-handed energy blast. Z uses it after reappearing behind Vegeta during their battle.
• High Speed Movement: The ability to move so fast that the user appears in another location.

• Super Neko Majin: After observing Onio transform into a Super Saiyan in "Neko Majin Z", Z powers up to this form, much to his own amazement. He then declared himself a "Super Neko Majin". Although his fur becomes more rigid during this transformation and a radiating, aura is present, Z himself (his fur) does not turn golden like a Super Saiyan, though Onio recognized it as the Super Saiyan form or something similar, as do later characters. Z once again transforms into a Super Neko Majin when facing Vegeta in the chapter "Neko Majin Z 3". After matching and almost being overwhelmed by Z, Vegeta transforms into a Super Saiyan. However, Onio, who had fought Vegeta before, reveals that Z too can become a "Super Saiyan". Just then, Super Saiyan Vegeta looks over to see a Super Neko Majin transformed Z, and he too recognizes the form as Super Saiyan. Z does not fight in this form because Vegeta fakes a phone call from being told to go to another planet, and proclaims he will never be in another gag manga. The last time this transformation is seen is during Z's spar with his mentor Goku in the final chapter. Both become Super Neko Majin and Super Saiyan, however Goku gains an advantage using a cat toy.

• Double Eyelids Form: After seeing Kuriza go into his true form, Z decides that he will also transform. When his transformation is complete, the only difference is that he has double eyelids.

Standard Tactics: Neko Majin Z will employ hand to hand combat along with ki attacks.

Weaknesses

• Standard Ki Weaknesses: Due to the nature of ki draining stamina and energy, Dragon Ball characters ki usage requires them to usually use their higher levels of energy in short bursts, using a large amount of ki overtime can greatly weaken them to the point that characters far lower then them can actually harm them with attacks. Taking large amounts of damage can greatly deplete a ki users attacks, making it where attacks that would otherwise kill massively weakened characters, only pushes them back. Ki users that are able to ki sense cannot do it when their guard is dropped, such as when Vegeta was able to sneak attack Son Goku during the end of their fight in the Buu Saga. Despite some ki users being able to reach blasts that can destroy planets through charged attacks or techniques, they have not shown to be able to tank such blasts themself, with attacks that have destroyed several planets in the series always killing the character. Even characters such as Majin Buu's body cannot withstand the energy of a planet exploding.
• Unique Weaknesses: A Neko Majin's Majin-Dama is the source of their power and taking it from them greatly weakens them and reverts them to a weak fat cat.

Note

• Some clips used on the profile come from an anime or movie due to the fact that some abilities Goku use shouldn't function much differently from how they can in canon, along with this sometimes the anime version/video game version of a scene will be used for cleaner visuals. Toriyama himself directly overlooks scenes in the anime and movies and gives Toei the thumbs up.
• The speed scaling for PLs are taken with a grain of salt as there are noticeable times where someone's speed isn't equal to their power, such as Burter being faster then Recoome and Jeice, along with Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks having his power greatly increased but his speed decreased.
