Santana is a secondary antagonist in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency and is the first of the four main Pillar Men featured throughout the part.

Pre-Battle Tendency
As a child Santana originally had lived somewhere in the Americas with the other members of the Pillar Men tribe, a human like species that is weak to the sun. After Kars had killed the rest of the Pillar Men, he and another Pillar Man named Wamuu where taken in by Kars and his ally Esidisi. Sometime later he would be left behind in Mexico by Kars, deeming him a weak child before he and the other Pillar Men left for Rome in order to find a flawless Red Stone of Aja. Sometime later Santana would need to rest and would do so in a Mexican pyramid that Kars had used for his Stone Mask project.
Battle Tendency
In 1938, an expedition team lead by Robert E. O. Speedwagon would learn of Santana's existence. After Speedwagon was betrayed by Straizo during their investigation, Straizo would notice that, despite sleeping within a pillar, Santana was absorbing blood from the floor which would cause Straizo to dump the bodies of Speedwagon and the others into a river. Soon after Straizo left the ruins Santana would be excavated by Nazis and would be placed in a research lab in Mexico. Speedwagon who had survived Straizo's attack would also be kidnapped and sent to the research lab for information about vampires and the Pillar Man. The Nazi research team, lead by Major Rudol von Stroheim, would force Speedwagon to watch as the Nazis feed blood to Santana causing him to awaken after two thousand years of slumber. Stroheim would name the Pillar Men "Santana" and would observe him from above. The Nazis would perform tests on Santana and would witness him absorb a vampire. The Nazis would at first think Santana was unintelligent until Santana would say Stroheim's name despite it being impossible for him to hear the outside world for within the testing chamber.
Soon after the Nazis would take their eyes off of Santana for a second allowing him to contort his body so that he could escape the chamber through the vents before they would react. Once Stroheim learned what Santana had done, Santana would reach the observation room and would enter the body of a man near the vents and would begin controlling him. The Nazis would see this and would fire at their comrade, causing Santana to absorb the bullets and and would fire them back at the Nazis. Before Stroheim and Speedwagon were killed by the bullets, A man would tear out some of Stroheim's hair and would use Hamon to keep the hair suspended in the air which would shield the three from the bullets. This man would reveal himself to be Joseph Joestar, who had came to Mexico to investigate the Pillar Men as well as to save his uncle, Speedwagon.
Joseph would start toying with Santana, believing he only killed the Nazis out of self defense. While Joseph was doing this, Santana would display his vast intelligent as he was able to not only speak prefect English but also take apart a gun in seconds despite never seeing it before. Getting fed up with Joseph's teasing, Santana would try to use his rib blades to absorb Joseph, who would instead be launched away from Santana. Santana would then test his absorption on Speedwagon and would realize that Joseph had something special about him that protected him from his absorption. Enraged that Santana would even put his hands on Speedwagon, Joseph would try to melt Santana using his Hamon. Joseph's Hamon however was redirected to the ground as Santana's skin was able to redirect it to the blood on the ground. Santana's body would then react to Joseph's attack by trying to consume his arm which Joseph would avoid in the last second. Speedwagon would tell Joseph that the reason Santana can't consume him is because of his Hamon. While Joseph tried various other ways to send Hamon through the Pillar Men, Santana would kick Joseph, which seemly knocked him out. Santana would then start absorbing Joseph only to be bisected as Joseph was only pretending to be knocked out so he could use his Hamon to attack Santana from the inside. Santana, having survived the attack would then try to attack Joseph but would be restrained by Joseph, who would use chains to tie Santana up. Santana would then be dragged by Joseph, who was trying to defeat Santana by exposing him to the sun. Right before Joseph could get to the door, Santana would launch pieces of his flesh at Joseph, sucking away his already depleted energy causing him to collapse to the ground. Stroheim would then try opening the door and despite Santana's efforts to restrain him, he would succeed. Before being exposed to too much sunlight, Santana, now fully regenerated from his earlier bisection, would contort his body and enter Stroheim's injured leg and would attempt to control him. Before he was able to do that, Stroheim would use a grenade to blow Santana and himself up. Santana would survive this attack but would be exposed to the sun and would start to harden. Santana would try to enter a well outside the lab to hide from the sun and would push Joseph inside the well with him. However due to it being Santana's first time in the sun he was unaware that the water in the well would reflect the sunlight above it causing him to harden. Joseph would also make sure Santana didn't touch the water by using his feet to slow done their fall. Santana exposed to too much light would harden into Stone and would be defeated.
Santana's remains would be taken to the Washington headquarters of the Speedwagon Foundation, where he was kept under ultraviolent lights so he would remain immobile. While being experimented on the researches found out Santana was still alive but was unable to do anything. Santana's fate after this is unknown.
Rib Blades: Santana is able to control his rib blades, which he can use to crush or absorb his opponent. These blades have a maximum length of 132 centimeters and can exert a maximum pressure of 825 kilograms per centimeter squared.
Meat Invade: Santana is able to launch pieces of his flesh at his opponents, which he can use to suck their blood from a slight distance.

Standard Tactics: Santana will usually try to absorb his opponent. If he can't do that he will fight them in physical combat.

Pre-Battle Tendency
Esidisi originally lived in the Americas with the rest of the Pillar Men, a human like species weak to the sun. Sometime during his life he would meet Kars, another Pillar Man who wanted to use his creation, the Stone Mask, to conquer the sun so his race would no longer have to hide from it to survive. Esidisi would be one of the few Pillar Men who agreed with Kars ideas as the other Pillar Men would view the mask as too dangerous. Due to this Esidisi would be spared by Kars, who would slaughter almost all of his entire species only leaving himself, Esidisi, and two kids named Wamuu and Santana alive. Esidisi would go on to become Kars' right hand man during his search for the flawless Red Stone of Aja.
During their search Esidisi, Kars, and Wamuu would abandon Santana in Mexico and would head to Eurasia to find the red stone. While searching in Eurasia, Esidisi would learn of Sun Tzu before coming to Rome, where he and the other Pillar Men would defeat members of the Hamon tribe before entering hibernation under the Roman Colosseum. The wall the three Pillar Men would embed themselves in would be booby trapped so they could absorb nourishment, which is what killed the Hamon user Mario Zeppeli. At some point the Nazis would find the Pillar Men and would being researching them to make sure they wouldn't pose a threat to Germany.
Battle Tendency
In 1938, Esidisi, Kars, and Wamuu would awaken underneath the Roman Colosseum. Shortly after waking up Esidisi would scold Wamuu for attacking Kars on accident, though Kars would apologize as it was him who triggered Wamuu's reflects. Esidisi would view Wamuu's battle with Joseph Joestar and Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli and would allow him to fight them as he and Kars left the Colosseum. Esidisi would meet up with Wamuu when the battle moved outside the Colosseum where Joseph would try to bargain for his life telling Wamuu that he would be able to defeat him in thirty days once he's trained. Amused Wamuu would place a poison ring inside Joseph to make sure he would train and fight him for the antidote thirty days later, which Esidisi would do as well. After that the Pillar Men would leave in search of the Red Stone of Aja.
A few weeks later Esidisi would find out the red stone's location around Air Supplena Island and would head there alone. While on a nearby island Esidisi would kill the Hamon user Loggins.
Right after killing him, Esidisi would encounter Joseph, who had been training on the island and was prepared to battle against his teacher, Loggins. Esidisi would realize the red stone was on the main island and would prepare to battle Joseph in a spiked arena. Esidisi would attack Joseph, who would block his attack with his finger and would use his Hamon to pierce through Esidisi's hand. Esidisi would grab Joseph's fist and would attempt to flip him over but Joseph would vault over Esidisi and would tie string around his arm. Joseph would yank the string and would slice Esidisi's arm off. Esidisi would then begin to bawl his eyes out, trying to control his emotions. Once Esidisi calmed down he would slice of Loggin's arm and would fuse it with his arm as a replacement. Joseph would witness Loggin's corpse melt and Esidisi would reveal to Joseph his Erratic Blaze King Mode, which allows him to fill his veins with extremely hot blood which he can splash its victims with. Esidisi would dig out his skin to unleash his veins and would attack Joseph, burning his mouth in the process. Esidisi would then impale himself with spikes to unleash even more veins and would surround Joseph with his burring blood veins as well as taking care of a string trap Joseph had sent up. However Joseph would reveal that he used a cut and restore rope trick to hide another set of string behind Esidisi. Joseph would then yank one of the strings, which would tighten around Esidisi, which would cause him to start evaporating. Esidisi would reveal his horn and would try to attack Joseph but would be nearly evaporated when Joseph destroyed his horn. Esidisi's body would be destroyed but Esidisi would live as just a nervous system clinging on to Joseph's back without him noticing.
Clinging on the Joseph's back Esidisi would sneak into Lisa Lisa's mansion and would possesses the body of Suzi Q. Using Suzi Q, Esidisi was able to grab the Red Stone of Aja and would mail it to Switzerland. Esidisi would reveal himself to Lisa Lisa before Joseph and Caesar entered her room. Esidisi would attack Caesar, and would tell the Hamon users that they would have to kill Suzi Q in order to kill him as a way of stalling. Esidisi would then decide to turn Suzi Q into a burning blood bomb to kill the Hamon users but would be stopped by Joseph and Caesar who would use positively charged and negatively charged Hamon to remove Esidisi with harming Suzi Q. Esidisi would then be killed by sunlight as he tried to escape to Joseph's body.
Erratic Blaze King Mode: When using Erratic King Blaze Mode, Esidisi is able to control his veins and fill them with blood that reaches six hundred degree Celsius which he can use to attack his enemies. He used this to battle Joseph Joestar while searching for the flawless Red Stone of Aja.

Standard Tactics: Like most other Pillar Men, Esidisi will usually try to absorb his opponent. If he can't do that he will fight them in physical combat.
Esidisi's name is a reference to the Australian rock band AC/DC.
In JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle, if Esidisi, Kars, or Wamuu battle in Skeleton Heel Stone stage, the crowd of vampires will shout out their name, similar to a scene in the manga.
The appearance of the Pillar Men is based of a combination of Roman sculptures, the Great Sphinx of Giza, and the Nio Buddhist guardians.[2]

Pre-Battle Tendency
Wamuu originally lived in the Americas with the rest of the Pillar Men, a human like species weak to the sun. When Kars and Esidisi killed most of their species two kids were spared, with those kids being Wamuu and Santana. Wamuu would be raised and trained by Kars and Esidisi and would become a strong warrior with honed instincts. Wamuu would travel with Kars and Esidisi and would aid them in their search for the flawless Red Stone of Aja. During their travels Wamuu and the other Pillar men would nearly kill of the Hamon Clan. During their killings Wamuu would be relucent to kill a child Hamon user so Kars would do it for him. The Pillar Men's search would lead to Rome where they would battle Hamon users before entering hibernation under the Roman Colosseum. The wall Wamuu and his masters embedded themselves in would be booby trapped so they could absorb extra nourishment while sleeping, which is what ending up killing the Hamon user Mario Zeppeli.
Battle Tendency
In 1938, Wamuu would finally wake up and would be greeted to Nazis studying him while also attempting to turn him into stone with ultra violet light. Wamuu would use his horn to kill some of the Nazis before fusing some of the other Nazis together, which he would then absorb the fused Nazis. Wamuu would then awaken his masters Kars and Esidisi from their slumber.
As the Pillar Men set off to continue their search, Wamuu would walk through a Nazi named Mark, absorbing half of his body in the process. Wamuu would then accidently harm Kars when he stepped on his shadow, which triggered his warrior reflects. Wamuu would apologize to Kars, but Kars would forgive him and would take the blame. Meanwhile on of Mark's friends, Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli would be forced to use his Hamon to end Mark's suffering. Enraged, Caesar would launch Hamon infused bubbles at Wamuu, who would touch the bubbles, which would cause harm to his finger. Wamuu would realize that the Hamon Clan had survived and would use his anti Hamon weaponry to pop the bubbles. His weaponry would also cut Caesar's face from afar. The Pillar Men would also mock Caesar, telling him that he sounds just like the Hamon Clan from two thousand years ago. Caesar would jump at Wamuu, who would grab him, telling Caesar he would need to get stronger if he wished to defeat him, before throwing him at a pillar.
Before striking Caesar down, Wamuu would hear someone coughing in the distance and would turn around to see Joseph Joestar, one of Caesar's allies, who wanted to battle. Joseph would tell the Pillar Men that it was him who defeated Santana before showing them his clackers. Joseph would infuse his clackers with Hamon and would perform tricks with them but would accidently hit himself on the head, which would amuse Wamuu. Joseph would then get more serious and would throw one of his clackers at Wamuu but he would easily dodge the attack. Joseph would then hide his clackers behind his back and would try to surprise attack Wamuu. Wamuu would contort his body to dodge Joseph's attacks and would dodge another pair of clackers thrown at him. Wamuu would then slit Joseph's wrist, telling him he had one minute to defeat him before he would faint from blood loss. Kars and Esidisi would leave and would allow Wamuu to battle Joseph. Wamuu would tell Joseph to pick up his weapon but Joseph would tell him he had no need to as the clacker Joseph had thrown at Wamuu had hit another clacker stuck to a pillar causing it to spin and get sent back at Wamuu. The clackers would tear through Wamuu's head and Joseph would start to beat Wamuu down. Wamuu would tell Joseph to hit him more as Joseph was the first to harm Wamuu's face. This would enrage Joseph, who would hit Wamuu with everything he had. Speedwagon (Who had also came with Joseph and Caesar) would tell Joseph that Wamuu's muscles were tightening causing Joseph to back away from him. Wamuu would tell Joseph that he allowed him to hit him so that he could learn a lesson about letting his ground down but that lesson was now over. Wamuu would then use his attack known as Divine Sandstrom where he would spin on of his arms clockwise and another counterclockwise, which would create a powerful vacuum that he would blast Joseph with.
While Joseph was lying on the ground heavily injured, Wamuu would tell Caesar and Speedwagon that he was going to kill them as they have seen him humiliated. While saying this Joseph would attempt to crawl away from Wamuu and would get inside a nearby mine cart. Wamuu would realize Joseph was alive and would chase after him, getting into said mine cart as well. Once both were in the cart, Joseph would flip a lever and the mine cart would begin to move. Wamuu would realize that Joseph had ran away not to escape him but to lure Wamuu away from the others. Wamuu would question Joseph's toughness, believing he has some sort of plan to defeat him. Wamuu would then figure out Joseph was going to launch Wamuu away by use the cart's emergency brakes and in retaliation would use the brakes to launch Joseph, Wamuu would also tell Joseph that he is aware of the dynamite that Joseph is trying to use to blow him up. Wamuu would tell Joseph that it has been one minute and that his blood loss has rendered him unable to stand. Before Wamuu could kill him, Joseph would tell Wamuu that if he had month, he could defeat him, telling Wamuu that he was the first guy to land a blow hon his forehead. While this was happening Kars and Esidisi would see the crash from above and would come to investigate what has happened. Wamuu would take up Joseph's offer and to make sure Joseph didn't just run away he would attach a Wedding Ring of Death to Joseph's heart by phasing it through him. Wamuu would tell Joseph that in thirty three days the ring will dissolve and kill Joseph and that he will have to kill Wamuu to get the antidote stored in his lip ring. Esidisi would do the same to Joseph, putting a ring on his throat. Wamuu would then leave with the Pillar Men in search for the flawless Red Stone of Aja.
After searching for the Red Stone of Aja in Greece, Wamuu would go to Switzerland where he would defend Kars' base of operations from Caesar and Messina. Using his wind powers, Wamuu would cover himself in a dense layer of air to shield himself from the sun, allowing him to surprise attack Caesar and Messina as well as hiding himself from them. Wamuu would cut off Messina's hand before dragging Messina into the hotel. Wamuu would then reveal himself to Caesar and would attempt to attack him. However Caesar would use his newly created Bubble Cutter technique to severely harm Wamuu, using Wamuu's wind armor against as his Hamon infuse bubble blades would draw towards Wamuu due to his wind. Overwhelmed by the attacks, Wamuu would kick Caesar's arm, launching himself through the hotel wall to escape. Caesar would follow Wamuu, entering the Pillar Men's domain.
Once Caesar entered the building Wamuu would try to use his Divine Sandstrom on him but would be surround by Caesar's Bubble Cutters. The Bubble Cutters would reflect the light coming from the outside and would shine it at Wamuu, putting holes in him. While Wamuu was being overwhelmed, Caesar would jump at Wamuu, preparing to strike him down. Wamuu would use this to his advantage, using Caesar's shadow, Wamuu would blast Caesar with his Divine Sandstrom, mortally wounding him. Wamuu would tell Caesar to stop fighting as he has lost too much blood to fight. However, Caesar would use the last of his strength to steal Wamuu's lip ring and would encase it in a blood bubble so Joseph can use it. After part of the hotel fell onto Caesar, Wamuu would leave the blood bubble alone in honor of Caesar's strength. Wamuu would then leave in order to heal from the various wounds inflicted on him.
While healing in a hotel room, Joseph and Lisa Lisa would burst into the room. Joseph would attempt to attack Wamuu but would be stopped by Lisa Lisa. Lisa Lisa would tell Joseph that there was dozens of people within that room. Wamuu would then reveal he was using his wind to hide one hundred vampires as well as Kars. Wamuu would ask Kars if he could battle Joseph but Kars would tell him no and that he will use the vampires to kill Joseph. Before the vampires had a chance to kill them, Lisa Lisa would tell the Pillar Men that if they were to die the Red Stone of Aja would be destroyed by a time bomb. Lisa Lisa would convince Kars to fight her in a one on one for the stone and that Wamuu and Joseph would do the same. Wamuu would choose the Skeleton Heel as a battle arena. At the arena it would be decided that Wamuu and Joseph would fight in a chariot battle.
Before the start of the battle Joseph would fill Wamuu's chariot with pebbles which would slow him down. Using this to his advantage Joseph would be the first to grab a weapon, that being a sledgehammer. Wamuu would react to this be using his strength to destroy and lift a pillar. Using the pillar, Wamuu would smash Joseph's chariot forcing him to jump off. Wamuu would the try to run him over using his chariot but Joseph would use his sledgehammer to summersault over the horses and land on Wamuu's chariot. However, Wamuu had expected Joseph to do this and would hide within his horses and would counterattack by blasting Joseph with his Divine Sandstrom. Joseph would be blasted into his broken chariot would be decently injured. However Joseph would survive the attack as he had used the horses reins to tie Wamuu's arms and infuse them with Hamon, causing Joseph to only take a weaken Divine Sandstorm while Wamuu's arms would be nearly be torn off.
Wamuu would go limp in humiliation, during this time Kars would call out for the next set of weapons to be placed. As crossbows with iron ball bearing where placed into the arena, Wamuu would heal his arms and would poke his eyes out, deciding to use his horn to sense the wind to defeat Joseph. Joseph would grab the large crossbow while Wamuu would grab the smaller one. As Joseph struggled to fire his crossbow, Wamuu would fire his at one of Joseph's horses, smashing its head to bits. Joseph, left with only one horse would try to use the fire in the middle of the arena to mess with Wamuu's senses but Wamuu would use this to his advantage and would find Joseph's position and would fire a ball bearing at the curved arena walls. The ball bearing would curve and hit Joseph, knocking him off his horse and also harming his organs. Wamuu would try to approach Joseph who would try to fire his crossbow at Wamuu but would miss. Wamuu would then get rocks thrown at him by Joseph, which would distract Wamuu long enough for Joseph's iron ball bearing to come back around the arena and hit Wamuu, smashing a hole through Wamuu, causing him to fall off his horse. While falling Wamuu would attempt to kick Joseph but would be counterattacked by him. While on the verge of death Wamuu would detach his already limp arms and would fire them at Joseph using his chest wound. Wamuu's hands would pin Joseph against a wall while also strangling him. Wamuu would use his final mode to defeat Joseph, known as Atmospheric rift, where Wamuu sucks in massive amounts of wind and fires out of his horn allowing him to use it like a extremely sharp scapple. Despite this attack destroying Wamuu's body, Wamuu would slowly track Joseph's position. Joseph would try to throw a molotov cocktail at Wamuu but he would slice it before it could reach him. Wamuu, now knowing Joseph's position would attempt to attack as Joseph would light and throw Caesar's headband at Wamuu. Wamuu would slice up the headband and Joseph would tell Wamuu that he had lost as the oil from the molotov cocktail began being absorbing into Wamuu's pipes as well as the fire from the headband. Due to the mix of fire and oil Wamuu would explode into pieces and would finally be defeated by Joseph.
Only Wamuu's head would remain from the explosion and he would begin dying from Joseph's Hamon. Joseph, now free from Wamuu's grip would give Wamuu blood to ease his pain. Wamuu would see this as an act of pity but Joseph would tell him its an act of honor and respect. Kars' vampires, enraged by Wamuu's defeat, would try to kill Joseph but Wamuu would use the last of his strength to fire himself at the vampires to kill them. Wamuu would tell Joseph that despite being loyal to Kars, he tires to lives up to his own code of honor. As Wamuu died Joseph would drink the antidote and would salute Wamuu once he died.

Anti-Hamon Weaponry: Wamuu is able to use his anti-Hamon weaponry to pop Hamon infused bubbles with wind pressure, which also creates a vacuum that can slice and cut things. Wamuu used this in his first battle with Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli.
Notable Techniques
Divine Sandstrom: By spinning his left hand clockwise and his right hand counterclockwise Wamuu can create a powerful vacuum that can rip stone pillars apart or destroy hotel floors.
Wind Suit: Using vapor from his lungs, Wamuu is able refract light around him making him look invisible. Wamuu used this in his fight against Caesar and Messina.
Atmospheric Rift: By absorbing wind, Wamuu can fire out pressurized wind through his horn that is as sharp as a scalpel, though using this attack will severely harm Wamuu. Wamuu used this in his final battle with Joseph Joestar.

Wamuu's name is a reference to the English pop duo Wham!.
Wamuu's Japanese voice actor for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The Animation had previously voiced Muhammad Avdol in the Stardust Crusaders CD Drama.
In JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle, if Esidisi, Kars, or Wamuu battle in Skeleton Heel Stone stage, the crowd of vampires will shout out their name, similar to a scene in the manga.

Kars is the main antagonist of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency and is the fourth of the four Pillar Men introduced in the story. He is the one who created the Stone Mask turn humans into vampires such as Dio Brando and Straizo.

Pre-Battle Tendency
102,000 years before the start of Battle Tendency the Pillar Man Kars was born. His species, the Pillar Men lived peaceful lives underground as they were unable to withstand the sun's light. They lived off the life essence of other living things and had little children due to their long lives. Kars would be unsatisfied by this and would begin working on a way to "conquer the sun" allowing his species to rule the world without fearing the sun's deadly rays.
Even among the Pillar Men, Kars was a genius and due to this genius Kars was able to create the Stone Mask. Kars would test its effects on himself and would gain immortally though the mask didn't have the power to protect him from the sun. Kars' immortally would cost life force to sustain, which would cause the Pillar Men to fear the Stone Mask as they believed the it would threaten their very way of life.
Kars' species would believe they needed to kill Kars, who with his ally Esidisi, would fight back and kill almost the entire Pillar Men species. Kars and Esidisi would take two surviving children, Wamuu and Santana and would set off on a journey to find a something that could give the Stone Mask the power to turn him into the ultimate being, allowing him to survive the sun's rays.
Kars would begin experimenting on humans during his travels, creating the very fist vampires as well as more Stone Masks. Kars ended up creating and feasting on thousands of vampires. During their travels Kars would find a Red Stone of Aja and would try to use its power to turn himself into the ultimate being. Though the gem wouldn't work, Kars would realize that if he could find a flawless Red Stone of Aja he could achieve his goal. With a modified version of the Stone Mask, Kars would leave Santana behind in Mexico and would travel with Esidisi and Wamuu to Eurasia. The Pillar Men would travel to China before heading to Rome after learning that the flawless Red Stone of Aja was within the possession of the Roman emperor. While in Rome, the Pillar Men would encounter Hamon users, people who use energy waves similar to the sun's to attack their foes. The Pillar Men would defeat the Hamon users and would develop ways to counter their Hamon. At some point Kars would command Wamuu to kill a child from the Hamon clan but he would be unable to. Kars would kill the kid for Wamuu as he believed he would come back to kill them for revenge. With the Hamon clan's defeat, the Pillar Men would hibernate with in a wall underneath the Roman Colosseum. This wall would be booby trapped so they could absorb extra nourishment while sleeping, which is what ending up killing the Hamon user Mario Zeppeli.
Battle Tendency
In 1938 Kars and Esidisi would be awakened by Wamuu who would tell them that Santana had been defeated and captured in Mexico. Deciding that Santana was too weak to save, Kars and the other Pillar Men would assume the Roman Empire was no longer in control before planning on how to get the Red Stone of Aja. While the Pillar Men were leaving Kars would accidentally step on Wamuu's shadow causing Wamuu to unconsciously attack him. Though Wamuu would ask to be punished, Kars would forgive Wamuu and knowing that it was his own fault that he got attacked. Kars would allow Wamuu to battle with the Hamon users Joseph Joestar and Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli before leaving the colosseum with Esidisi. After witnessing a mine cart crash Kars and Esidisi would investigate the battle and would learn that Wamuu hasn't killed Joseph yet. Wamuu would explain that he wished to battle Joseph once he has gotten stronger which Kars would allow him to do so. Wamuu and Esidisi would place a Wedding Ring of Death each inside Joseph telling him that he had thirty three days to train before leaving with Kars.
Sometime later Kars would set his base of operations in a abandoned hotel in Saint-Moritz, Switzerland. Weeks later Esidisi would find the Red Stone of Aja's location in Venice and would set off to find it planning to contact Kars after he had obtained it. However Esidisi would be killed by Joseph and Esidisi would fail to contact Kars. However Esidisi was able to mail the stone to Saint-Moritz. While in Saint-Moritz Kars would save a dog from being ran over by using his bone blade to slice through the car, redirecting the car as well as cutting the steering wheel, causing the drivers to crash. Afterwards Kars would question if something had happened to Esidisi.
Sometime later Kars would find out that Esidisi was killed and that the Red Stone of Aja was nearby in Saint-Moritz, in the hands of the Nazis. Kars would approach the chalet the Nazis were staying in and using his enhanced sense of touch, Kars would be able to find out where the Nazis where in the building and would use his bone blade to kill them from the outside. Once inside the building Kars would be confronted by Rudol von Stroheim, who would reveal himself to be a cyborg, which is why Kars was unable to sense him. Kars would also be confronted by Joseph, who was at the chalet looking for the Red Stone of Aja. During this encounter Kars would try to strike Stroheim with his blade but he would be blocked by Stroheim's steel hand. While grabbing Kars' blade Stroheim would use his superhuman grip to tear off a piece of Kars' flesh and wound threaten to tear him to pieces before blasting Kars with a horde of bullets. While being blasted with bullets, Kars would activate his Light Mode and would use his blade to slice through the bullets. Stroheim would question how Kars' bone blade was not breaking from the bullets before being cut down by it himself, Stroheim would realize that Kars' blade has sharp moving teeth on it which is what causes it to glow as well as what allows it to cut the bullets. Kars would tell Stroheim that despite begin a cyborg designed to kill Pillar Men like Santana, he would be unable to as Santana was merely a guard dog compared to him and the other Pillar Men. Kars would grab the Red Stone of Aja from Stroheim's pocket before being hit by a ultra violet light from Stroheim's eyes, causing Kars to drop the stone which would begin to slide down hill. Kars and Joseph would race to catch the stone with Kars' superior speed allowing him to grab it first by using his foot and jumping. However, snow kicked by Joseph would get into Kars' eyes distracting him long enough for Joseph to grab the stone while Kars was in the air. Kars would counter this by using a blade from his foot to stab and drag Joseph down with him, causing both to enter free fall. Joseph would use his Hamon to stick onto a icicle but Kars would cut the icicle causing the two to fall again. Joseph would then try to send Hamon through Kars' blade, who would response by slamming Joseph to a wall with enough force to send him bounding back allowing Kars to use his arm blade to slice him up. However Joseph would block while holding the Red Stone of Aja, forcing Kars to not attack Joseph. As Kars would fall, Joseph would use icicles to create a rope with Caesar's help from above allowing him to survive. While falling, Kars would notice he was about to land on a flower and would punch the wall to redirect himself to avoid destroying it. Once on the ground Kars would laugh like a mad man before commenting on how Joseph has guts before leaving.
Kars would later encounter Joseph and Lisa Lisa inside his hotel where he would try to ambush them with his army of vampires. However due to Lisa Lisa's threat to destroy the Red Stone of Aja with a time bomb, Kars would agree to fighting for it in a one-on-one battle with her with Joseph and Wamuu doing the same. Kars would spectate the battle between Joseph and Wamuu with Lisa Lisa during which he would offer Lisa Lisa poison telling her to use it to kill herself instead of fighting believing that Wamuu would win the battle. However Joseph would kill Wamuu and Kars would have to face Lisa Lisa in battle.
After Wamuu's death, Kars would use his arm blade to kill three vampires who insulted Wamuu for losing. Kars would also kill vampires who tried to attack Lisa Lisa and Joseph. Kars and Lisa Lisa would battle on the ruins of the Piz Berlina Temple. During the beginning of the fight, Kars would use his light to disappear from Lisa Lisa's sight and would allow her to kill one of his body doubles. Kars would then surprise attack Lisa Lisa after his supposed death, stating that despite Wamuu's wishes he doesn't care for a honorable one-on-one duel. Kars would then get his vampires to attack Joseph though they would be killed by the Speedwagon Foundation and the SS who had came to aid Joseph and Lisa Lisa.
Despite being tried from his earlier battle with Wamuu, Joseph would climb up the ruins and would prepare to face Kars. Kars would taunt Joseph with Lisa Lisa's passed out body before stabbing her legs and tying a rope between them. Kars would throw the rope over part of the ruins while also throwing Lisa Lisa off the ruins forcing Joseph to use the make shift pully system to hold on to Lisa Lisa. Joseph would try to attack Kars but Kars would block Joseph's kick and would slice his legs to counterattack. Joseph would then light his scarf on fire, claiming it will motivate him to attack Kars with all he's got before being attacked by Kars. Joseph would dodge Kars' attack using the rope to swing around him. Kars would tell Joseph he can't just run around him forever and would threaten to cut the rope. Joseph would then use the rope to leap towards Kars who would response by cutting the rope causing Joseph and Lisa Lisa to fall. However Kars would be dragged down with Joseph as he would learn he had been tricked as Joseph only lit the scarf on fire to distract Kars from seeing Joseph tie a rope to his foot before luring Kars to a rope trap he made as well. Kars would try to use his foot blade to cut the rope but Joseph would use his scarf to grab on to Kars and would use it to launch himself in the air. Kars would try to use his bone blade to block Joseph's attack but would be unable to as Joseph would break through Kars' blade. Joseph's Hamon would spread throughout Kars' arm as he fell to the ground, being impaled by sharp rocks while Joseph would grab the rope and save Lisa Lisa. As Kars was dying on the ground, Stroheim would order his SS soldiers to fire ultra violet light at Kars to finish him off but Speedwagon would tell them to cease fire as Kars had put on the modified Stone Mask with the Red Stone of Aja on it. However Speedwagon's warnings would be too late as Kars would be blasted by ultra violet light, turning him into the ultimate being.
Kars, now the ultimate being, would rise up and would display his power by creating a vampiric squirrel that would rip through SS soldiers, which included Stroheim. Despite the sun coming up, Kars would be completing unaffected by it, with the humans believing they couldn't defeat him. Joseph, however, would run away from Kars, who would grow wings to catch up to Joseph. As Kars chased him, Joseph would hop into a nearby plane and would attempt to fly away from Kars while also firing bullets at him. Kars would react to the bullets, launching his armored feathers at them to deflect them while also using his feathers to pierce through parts of the plane. While Kars was chasing Joseph, Kars' feathers that were inside the plane would turn into piranhas and would attack Joseph. One of the feathers inside the plane's wing would turn into an octopus, which would destroy a part of the plane's wing, causing Joseph's plane to begin crashing. Kars try to attack a parachuting Joseph only to realize that he was flying towards a dummy and would be hit by Joseph driving the plane into Kars. Kars would climb up from the plane's steel plate and would try to attack Joseph only for for Stroheim to reveal he had been on the plane the whole time and would surprise attack Kars, shooting his arm at his neck as a distraction. As the plane crashed into a nearby volcano Stroheim would grab onto Joseph to cushion his fall, while destroying the bottom half of his body in the process. Kars would fall into the volcano's lava and despite using a protective shell would begin to melt. However Kars would survive the lava by creating a layer of bubbles between his skin and the lava and would pop out of the lava to slice Joseph's arm off. Joseph would try to attack Kars but Kars would counterattack, smashing Joseph's leg with Hamon hundreds of times stronger than his. Telling Joseph that he is a fool for thinking he couldn't use it.
As Joseph lied on the ground in pain, Kars would try to use his Hamon to finish Joseph off but Joseph would instinctively block his attack with the Red Stone of Aja, which would amplify Kars' Hamon and would shoot out a powerful beam into the volcano, causing it to erupt. The eruption would the blast the rock Kars and Joseph where on into the air. Kars would try to escape the rock by flying away but Joseph severed arm would be blasted into Kars' throat. Kars would then get distracted by Joseph and would be hit with flying rocks which would launch him into space. As Kars exited Earth, he would try to use his air jets to push himself back to the planet. However the air Kars was blasting out would freeze instantly causing Kars to freeze over. Kars, now frozen and floating away from earth would turn into something half mineral and half lifeform and would float in space for all of eternity craving death though it would never come. Eventually Kars went mad and stopped thinking, never to be seen again.

Modified Stone Mask: Kars wields a Stone Mask modified to use the power of the Super Aja. Without the Super Aja it functions as a regular Stone Mask, which can turn humans into vampires. With the Super Aja, Kars can turn himself into the ultimate being when wearing the mask while exposed to light.
Notable Techniques
Bone Blade: Some of Kars' bones are in the shape of blades which he can use to slice through walls. Kars is able able to drink blood out of this blade
Light Mode: With Light Mode, Kars activates sharp teeth on his bone blade that move at such a speed that they reflect light, making his blade look like its glowing. These teeth are shape enough to slice through cyborgs like Rudol von Stroheim and can't be blocked by Hamon users.
The Ultimate Being: When Kars used the modified Stone Mask he became the ultimate being, a being that can't die and can use the abilities of all other life forms. This allows Kars to do things such as create life, fly with wings, or even use Hamon that is hundreds of times stronger than the Hamon of Joseph Joestar.
Other
Standard Tactics: Like most other Pillar Men, Kars will usually try to absorb his opponent. If he can't do that he will fight them in physical combat.
In the 2000s Stardust Crusaders OVA the French voice actor for N'Doul, Emmanuel Gradi, voiced Kars in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The Animation.
In JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle, if Esidisi, Kars, or Wamuu battle in Skeleton Heel Stone stage, the crowd of vampires will shout out their name, similar to a scene in the manga.
The appearance of the Pillar Men is based of a combination of Roman sculptures, the Great Sphinx of Giza, and the Nio Buddhist guardians.[3]
