Background

Chronoa, known as the Supreme Kai of Time, is a divine being tasked with overseeing the continuous flow of time throughout the cosmos. She is referenced in Dragon Ball Online under the title Lord of Time and plays a significant role in the Dragon Ball Heroes series, where her duties and influence on the timeline are prominently featured.

This dropdown contains the synopsis of Chronoa’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!

Chronoa came into existence over 75 million years ago. Initially, she was an ordinary Kai while the role of Supreme Kai of Time belonged to her predecessor, Aeos. Around 75 million years before Age 850, Chronoa competed against Mechikabura for the title of Supreme Kai of Time, with the challenge involving raising a Tokitoki egg to prove worthiness. Upon discovering Mechikabura’s malevolent plans, Chronoa ascended to the position of Supreme Kai of Time and imprisoned him within the Crack of Time. Demigra, who was expected to assist Chronoa, was in truth an agent of Mechikabura. Eventually, Chronoa confronted Demigra and his allies Putine and Gravy, defeating all three and banishing them to the void that later became the Demon Realm. After nurturing Tokitoki into adulthood, she officially assumed the mantle of Supreme Kai of Time. Soon after, Demigra amassed enough Kili energy to transform into a Demon God and attempted to capture Tokitoki and seize control of the Time Nest to usurp Chronoa’s role as god of time and space. However, Chronoa thwarted this attempt and sealed Demigra back within the Crack of Time.

Prior to enlisting Xeno Trunks, Chronoa appointed a Galactic Patrolman named Sealas as the first Time Patroller. Sealas possessed a strong sense of justice but struggled with the darker duties of a Time Patroller, especially the necessity to observe tragic historical events without interference. This tension culminated during Sealas’ final mission, patrolling history alongside Chronoa during one of Kid Buu’s destructive rampages, which occurred sometime between Time Immemorial and Kid Buu’s summoning by Bibidi five million years before Age 0. While on patrol on a planet under attack by Kid Buu, Sealas witnessed Buu assaulting an unseen native boy. Despite Chronoa’s orders not to intervene, as it was part of the official timeline, Sealas defied her and shielded the boy from Buu’s attack. Upon returning to the Time Nest, Chronoa reprimanded Sealas but understood his actions stemmed from noble intentions. She explained the importance of putting emotions aside to preserve history and gave him time to recover, noting that his intervention was minor and ultimately ineffective since the boy later perished when Kid Buu destroyed the planet. Upon checking the Scroll of Eternity to confirm the boy’s fate, Sealas was horrified. Unable to reconcile his role in allowing such tragedies, Sealas resolved to betray Chronoa and the Time Patrol by attempting to burn the Scroll of Eternity to rewrite history and create a peaceful world without evil. Chronoa uncovered and stopped his plans, and as punishment for his betrayal and attempt to destroy the timeline, she imprisoned Sealas within the Time Abyss.

At a later point, Chronoa confronted Future Trunks (known as Xeno Trunks in Dragon Ball Heroes and World Mission) due to his creation and use of a Time Machine to alter the past and prevent his dystopian future timeline, which caused a split in the timeline. Needing an assistant, Chronoa deceived Future Trunks by claiming, “What you did is a mortal sin and making Time Machines is a crime! Work under me if you want to be forgiven!” This lie motivated Future Trunks to become her assistant as a way to atone for what he believed was a grave sin committed by him and his mother in altering the past. He was unaware that their actions were actually the first of their kind and not a sin—a fact Chronoa kept secret for her own purposes. Unexpectedly, Trunks took her lie seriously, dedicating himself fully to the role of assistant and proving to be diligent and reliable. Chronoa chose not to correct certain timeline changes caused by Future Trunks’ travels, such as his involvement in the deaths of Mecha Frieza and King Cold, Goku’s survival of the Heart Virus, and Cell’s use of a stolen Time Machine to achieve his Perfect Form and the events of the Cell Games. She recognized that Trunks’ intentions were pure and aimed toward the greater good, and since history did not worsen as a result, she allowed these alterations to stand.

Dark Demon Realm Saga
In the manga, after appointing Future Trunks as a member of the Time Patrol, Chronoa accompanies him to the hideout of Towa and Mira. Upon their arrival, they encounter Mira, who engages them in battle. Future Trunks fights against Mira while Chronoa remains present during the confrontation. As the battle develops, Trunks faces both the Masked Saiyan and Super Mira. Before a decisive outcome is reached, Towa removes her forces from the location. Shortly afterward, Demon God Demigra appears. After briefly clashing with Trunks and identifying Tokitoki, Demigra inquires about its significance. Chronoa questions Demigra regarding any alliance with Towa, to which he responds in the negative. Demigra states his intention to obtain Tokitoki and claim the position of Supreme Kai of Time before departing.

In the game adaptation, Chronoa commands the Time Patrol in an operation against the Dark Makai Army within the Demon Realm. During a confrontation with Mira, she summons the Supreme Kai avatars to assist the Time Patrol before leaving the battlefield. Following the conclusion of the battle, Chronoa and Future Trunks encounter Towa. They exchange information, after which Towa summons Super Mira to engage them. The ensuing battle results in the defeat of Towa. Xeno Dabura, accompanied by Super Mira and the unconscious Towa, subsequently departs through a dark portal.

Dark Empire Saga
Following the battle, Chronoa and Future Trunks return to the Time Nest. Soon after, Chronoa detects alterations in the timeline and sends Trunks along with the newly appointed Xeno Goku to investigate one such event. This particular alteration involved Goku fighting Xeno Frieza in his Super Saiyan form.

After correcting this timeline disruption, Chronoa identifies two additional changes. To manage these, she decides to split the team: Chronoa and Goku address one change, while Future Trunks teams up with a new ally, Xeno Vegeta, to handle the other.

Chronoa and Goku discover that their targeted timeline change is caused by the Dark Empire Forces attempting to capture Xeno Majin Buu, who has fused with a Dark Dragon Ball. Despite holding off the enemy initially, they are soon overwhelmed, prompting Chronoa to summon Vegeta and Trunks for support. Upon her return, Buu has transformed into a Demon God after absorbing Xeno Dabura’s power. Facing this new threat, Goku and Vegeta fuse into Xeno Vegito using Chronoa’s earrings. Vegito gains the advantage against Buu, but as he attempts to end the fight with his Spirit Sword, Demon God Chamel intervenes to save Buu, allowing them to escape.

After the confrontation, Chronoa rests alongside the Time Patrol until Chamel arrives. She then assists the Time Patrol in battling the Dark Empire at Mechikabura’s castle in the Dark Demon Realm. Observing that Mechikabura has returned to full strength by using Dark Shenron, Chronoa transforms into her Time Power Unleashed form. Using the full extent of her temporal power, she seals both herself and Mechikabura in a time-created dimension and teleports the remaining Time Patrollers back to the Time Nest.

Dark King Mechikabura Saga
Chronoa suddenly appears alongside Gravy and Putine in Age 790, seemingly under mind control. She uses her powers to freeze the entire Time Patrol, as well as Demigra and his allies.

Later, she shows up at the hideout used by both the Time Patrol and Demigra's Army, freezing everyone except for Xeno Trunks. This exception is due to Xeno Trunks holding the Key Sword, which was given to him by Robelu. Chronoa then uses increased power, transforming into her Time Power Unleashed form, and employs the Time Clock technique, launching a barrage of dark arrows that impale Xeno Trunks. While holding the Key Sword, Xeno Trunks glimpses fragments of Chronoa's memories from her time trapped in the Time Labyrinth, where she was defeated by Towa and brainwashed by Mechikabura. Reacting to this, Xeno Trunks transforms into a Super Saiyan 3 and charges at Chronoa. Striking her with the Key Sword, he purifies the darkness within her, restoring her to normal and freeing those she had frozen. Chronoa apologizes for her actions, but Xeno Trunks reassures her that there is no need for remorse.

Immediately after, Mechikabura arrives and attacks the group, incapacitating everyone except Xeno Trunks. After summoning and absorbing the other Demon Gods, Mechikabura heads to the Time Nest intending to steal Tokitoki. Chronoa asks Xeno Trunks to pursue him. The injured Saiyans transfer some of their energy to Xeno Trunks, which unexpectedly causes him to transform into a Super Saiyan God. Chronoa and Xeno Trunks travel to the Time Nest, where she aids him by freezing Majin energy blasts during the fight against Fin. After Xeno Trunks defeats Fin, he attempts to confront Mechikabura, but Mechikabura creates a black hole that begins absorbing everything, including the Time Nest.

Chronoa explains that Mechikabura has started absorbing time itself, putting the entire universe at risk. To escape, chains emerge through a small light opening and latch onto Chronoa and the others, pulling them out of the dark void into a desolate Time Nest controlled by Demigra. When asked how he accomplished this, Demigra reveals he used Dark Shenron to gain power capable of opposing Mechikabura.

Soon after, the remaining Time Patrol members and Demigra’s Army appear through a rift, with Xeno Goku holding the Key Sword. Chronoa requests they buy her time while she recharges the Key Sword for Xeno Trunks. Once charged, the sword enables Xeno Trunks to deliver a final blow to Mechikabura, sealing him in an eternal labyrinth. Following this, Tokitoki restores the Time Nest to its original state. Before departing, Demigra vows to one day claim Chronoa's position, though the Time Patrol pledges to prevent this when that day comes.

Universe Creation Saga
At the Time Nest, Chronoa informs Xeno Trunks and Xeno Pan that Tokitoki, the divine bird, has gone missing. Concerned about the potential danger this poses, the two immediately set out to find Tokitoki. Meanwhile, Chronoa remains behind, feeling uneasy and considering the possibility that Tokitoki’s disappearance might be linked to the recent release of Dogidogi.

New Space-Time War Saga
Chronoa makes a brief appearance at the start of the New Space-Time War Saga, where Xeno Trunks guides Goku through the Pseudo Universe. Later, Chronoa arrives to intervene against Fu’s plan to eliminate the Gokus, providing support and enhancing both Goku’s powers beyond their normal limits to help initiate the final confrontation with Fu. Despite this significant boost, Goku and his alternate self are still unable to defeat the Dark King.

Fu begins absorbing energy from the Universe Tree and, to some extent, the entire universe. Chronoa and the Gokus observe this, and Fu lashes out by sending a tendril toward Chronoa. Xeno Goku quickly steps in to intercept the attack, taking the hit himself. Fu is eventually defeated when Goku absorbs energy from the Universe Tree as well and finishes him off with a Kamehameha.

After the battle, Chronoa notes that the Universe Tree has exhausted all its energy. She calls upon Tokitoki to lend his power to restore Universe 7. Tokitoki complies, and a bright flash of white light envelops everything, restoring the universe.

In the manga, a bonus chapter shows Putine becoming an Intern Time Patroller, with Chronoa attempting to teach her former rival how to fulfill this role. During a mission, Putine discovers a time distortion while using the Time Scroll to observe Gravy’s personal life and reacts angrily upon learning Gravy has a girlfriend. She initially refuses to pose with Chronoa before the mission. Though Putine mistakenly assaults Gravy with a hammer despite his innocence, she manages to correct the timeline. Chronoa explains the importance of preserving history and encourages Putine to pose with her again, but Putine declines once more.

Supreme Kai of Time Saga
Inside the Time Vault, Chronoa faces Aeos, her predecessor as Supreme Kai of Time. Aeos expresses disappointment with Chronoa’s handling of the Scrolls of Eternity and demands their return, but Chronoa refuses. In response, Aeos’ Warriors in Black surround Chronoa to prevent her from resisting.

Later, Chronoa appears disguised among the Time Patrol during the Super Space-Time Tournament, wearing a cloak that conceals her identity. The other Time Patrollers seem unaware of who she is, as Xeno Goten questions the cloaked figure’s identity, and Xeno Trunks explains that Chronoa called him a special helper.

Chronoa then confronts Aeos in the Time Nest, demanding the return of the Time Scrolls. Aeos smiles confidently and challenges Chronoa to try. She warns that she will show no mercy if Chronoa interferes with her plans and transforms into her Time Power Unleashed state. Chronoa counters by activating the same form but states she intends only to talk, not fight.

Aeos rejects the offer to talk and attacks Chronoa with an energy blast. Chronoa defends herself while attempting to explain her understanding of the risks involved with increasing timelines, emphasizing her trust in the potential within them. Despite her efforts, Aeos overwhelms Chronoa and knocks her down.

Dragon Ball Online
Chronoa does not appear directly but is referenced in the backstory explaining how Future Trunks became her assistant. According to the interpretation in Dragon Ball Online, using a Time Machine is considered a breach of the universe’s natural laws. Although Future Trunks’ actions were intended to protect Earth’s peace, the Lord of Time sternly warned him about the consequences. To atone for his violation, Trunks accepted the role of a Time Patroller tasked with correcting distortions in history. After being cautioned by the Lord of Time about Mira’s plans to cause chaos across time and space, Trunks travels to Age 1000 to find allies and stop Mira’s schemes, marking the beginning of the Dragon Ball Online storyline.

Dokkan Battle
Chronoa appears in the story event "Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission," where she interacts with Xeno Trunks, who is disguised as Great Saiyaman 3. She recruits Beat and Note to help address anomalies caused by the rogue former Time Patroller Sealas, who, driven by a misguided sense of justice, seeks to empower Ahms and destroy the Scroll of Eternity to rewrite history. To combat this threat, Chronoa dispatches Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta to assist Xeno Trunks, Beat, and Note in stopping Sealas. Additionally, Chronoa appears as an enemy in the Strike Event "The Space-time Traveler," where Xeno Trunks faces off against the Time Patroller protagonist from Quest Mode. Defeating Chronoa in this event rewards players with a Reinstating History Trunks (Xeno) card, with a chance for a double drop. However, the specific Chronoa card featured in the event is not obtainable through this Strike Event and can only be acquired via card summons.

World Mission
In the opening animated cutscene of World Mission, Chronoa and Xeno Trunks observe the arrival of her former subordinate, Sealas, who travels from the Crack of Time to the Time Nest through a wormhole. Chronoa immediately understands Sealas' purpose and instructs Xeno Trunks to confront the intruder, who is unknown to Xeno Trunks. However, Super Saiyan Xeno Trunks is swiftly defeated by Sealas, who then departs suddenly. Recognizing the threat Sealas poses, Chronoa resolves to stop him. She sends Xeno Trunks to Hero Town on a covert mission to investigate anomalies within the Super Dragon Ball Heroes game world created by Sealas to gather data and increase his power. Assisted by Capsule Corporation Technician Leggings and her young aide Anne, Xeno Trunks adopts the persona of Great Saiyaman 3, becoming a popular player and admired figure in Hero Town, known locally as the Hero Master. Eventually, Great Saiyaman 3 assembles a team of Hero Switch-compatible Super Dragon Ball Heroes players called the Dragon Ball Heroes to assist in combating the "menace" as Time Patrollers who correct anomalies within the game world's timeline.

In Chapter 3, Sub Chapter 2: "Sealas Arrives!", Great Saiyaman 3’s DBH Team is forced to defend Hero Town from game world enemies and a brainwashed SDBH player named Kabra, who is freed by Great Saiyaman 4 (Goku’s Earthling/Saiyan hybrid descendant Beat) after killing Babidi. Meanwhile, Chronoa prepares her newest recruits, Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta, within her home in the Time Nest for their first official mission. She offers them official Time Patrol uniforms, which Xeno Vegeta initially declines. Chronoa asserts her authority, stating Vegeta will remain in the Time Nest until he complies. Xeno Goku advises Vegeta to accept, leading to his eventual agreement. After putting on the uniforms, Xeno Goku remarks on the odd feeling of not wearing his usual Turtle School Gi, to which Chronoa responds curtly, but before she can continue, Xeno Vegeta interrupts sarcastically, asking if they are going to stay and listen to her lengthy speech. Chronoa agrees it’s time to move and head to Hero Town. Before departing, she requests that Great Saiyaman 3 and the DBH Team hold out long enough for her arrival with crucial reinforcements.

This Goku has gone through the events of Dragon Ball GT, meaning he should be superior to himself in the Buu Saga, due to having trained for seven years straight since, and then five more years on top of that. GT takes place after Fusion Reborn, in which Goku’s Super Saiyan 3 transformation was able to shake the afterlife. This base Goku is also aware of Broly, meaning the events of Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan happened). Equipment

  • Potara: A special pair of earrings worn by those who hold the position of Supreme Kai that can allow two people to fuse or allow one to use Time Rings.
  • Scroll of Eternity: As the Supreme Kai of Time, Chronoa is responsible for maintaining the Time Scrolls that physically record history and had the ability to restore the original history once an alteration to the official history is fixed and can chose to leave in certain minor changes as long as it doesn't interfere with the original flow of events (such as Future Gohan choosing to die fighting the Androids after realizing he was fated to die upon meeting his student Time Patrol Trunks) though as shown by the Unknown History Saga this can lead to outside forces creating further alterations. She and the Time Patrol can also use the scrolls to review historical events, alterations to history, or the events that occur as a result of alterations to history.
  • Key Sword: Chronoa can use this sword in-game in Dragon Ball Heroes. She can also charge up the Key Sword when it is used by Xeno Trunks against Mechikabura.

Notable Techniques

  • Flight: Chronoa is shown to be capable of using the technique to fly in Dragon Ball Heroes. She is also seen using the technique in the opening of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
  • Ki Blast: The most basic form of energy wave. Used by her Elite type cards in Dragon Ball Heroes and World Mission.
  • Godly ki: As a Supreme Kai and a god, Chronoa possesses the ability to utilize and sense godly ki.
  • Magic: Chronoa is capable of using magic and magically based techniques, as well as to counter/dispel other forms of magic such as Demigra's Dark Magic. Before she was Supreme Kai she was apparently already a skilled magic user as she was able to combat three wizards (Demigra, Gravy, and Putine) by herself.
  • Sealing Spells: Chronoa is shown to be quite proficient with sealing spells as she sealed Demigra inside the Crack of Time after his failed attempt to seize control of the Time Nest in 75 Million Before Age. She also uses a sealing spell to contain/counter Demigra's Self Destructing Majin Emblem inside as energy sphere allowing her to throw it away before it detonated.
  • Healing: As a Kai, Chronoa possesses the ability to rejuvenate anyone and restore them to full health instantly, even if they are on the brink of death. Chronoa uses this technique to heal Future Trunks' injuries sustained during his fight with the Future Warrior while under the control of Demigra's Dark Magic.
  • Kai Kai: In Dragon Ball Super, it is revealed that the Supreme Kai in every universe has the ability to instantly teleport to any other universe, including Zeno's Palace. Chronoa herself rarely utilizes this ability due to her workload of watching over the Time Vault and caring for Tokitoki.
  • Sacred Furious Light Bullet: Kai Chronoa's Super Attack in Dragon Ball Heroes. Chronoa charges charges Ki into both of her hands, then holds one arm back. She then launches two large energy spheres at the opponent creating a large explosion.

  • Time Travel: Due to her position, Chronoa is able to freely travel through time.
  • Time Manipulation: As the Supreme Kai of Time, she is capable of manipulating and controlling time.
    • Timeline Erasure: She is also capable of erasing Alternate Timelines from the official history, though it is implied that she views this as an extreme measure as it would lead to the erasure of everyone inhabiting that alternate timeline, which is why she prefers to have the Time Patrol correct the change which allows Chronoa to restore the original unaltered timeline (though she can choose to allow certain minor alterations to remain).
    • Time Dilation: In chapter 2 of the Dark Empire Saga, she dilates the flow of time in the room Goku and Trunks are fighting in.
    • Freeze: Supreme Kai of Time possess the power to freeze her opponent's bodies time, she used it on Mira to stop him from interfering in the battle between Future Trunks and the Masked Saiyan, however, Mira eventually broke out of it by transforming into Super Mira. In World Mission, it is a CAA Special Ability that functions as a team counterattack where she appears and freezes the enemy attacker in time allowing the character with said CAA Special Ability to deliver a 50 Hit Max Rush Combo on the time frozen opponent, before the enemy is released from the time Freeze and receives the damage from while time was stopped all at once. The Freeze Special Ability has several variations that utilize the same attack animation though have different names and additional effects. She can also equip the Invincible Freeze Attack Accessory Item through either a Custom Deck or Card Creation which allows her to use the Invincible Freeze Attack variation of the Freeze CAA Special Ability. The attack animation is the same thus a second Supreme Kai of Time Chronoa will appear to assist the incarnation of Chronoa equipped with the accessory.
    • Injury transfer: Chronoa can transfer the injuries of someone to herself, she does this to restore Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta to full health.
    • Time Labyrinth: A technique Chronoa can only be used in her Power of Time Unleashed state, by using all of her power she was able to seal herself and the entire Demon Realm outside the flow of time.
      • Dark Labryinth: Power of Time Unleashed Chronoa's Super Attack while brainwashed in Dragon Ball Heroes. Forms a prison of energy around the opponent that explodes.
  • Time Judgment: Chronoa's super attack in Dragon Ball Heroes. Chronoa summons a giant cloud that shoots a pink blast down at the enemy. Also used by Chronoa when summoned as a Z-Assist character in Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butōden. In World Mission, its name is localized as Temporal Judgment.
    • Temporal Justice: Time Power Unleashed Chronoa's Super Attack in Dragon Ball Heroes and World Mission.
    • Fusion Warriors from Beyond Unit: A team attack variation of Temporal Justice performed by Time Power Unleashed Chronoa, Xeno Gotenks, and Xeno Gogeta in Dragon Ball Heroes and World Mission. Chronoa prepares to attack with Temporal Justice but gets angry at the inpatient Xeno Gotenks rushes in to attack the opponent with Xeno Trunks' Sword, though Chronoa gets even by firing her attack while the opponent is being attacked by Xeno Gotenks who manages to narrowly avoid getting hit by her attack. While Chronoa cheekily performs a double V sign pose in celebration, Xeno Gogeta rushes in and performs Soul Punisher as a finisher, which causes explosion of bright light that can be seen from orbit.
  • Dark Judgment: Chronoa's Super Attack while brainwashed in Dragon Ball Heroes. Chronoa summons a swirling vortex of dark energy above the opponent that strikes them with a large black bolt of energy.
  • Time Clock: A technique used in Chronoa in her Brainwashed form that unleashes a barrage of energy in the form of clock hands.
  • Space-Time Transfer: Light: Used in Dragon Ball Heroes. The user sends their opponent to another dimension where they are hit with a combined attack from Chronoa, Vegeta, Xeno Gohan, Xeno Trunks, and Goku.
  • Memory Wiping: In Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission X, after repairing Demigra's disruption of the past, she erases the memories of everyone who witnessed the event.

  • Time Power Unleashed: Chronoa possess a transformation known as Time Power Unleashed, which grants her a taller, more mature appearance. She looks like an adult with a much shapelier figure, lengthens her hair to her lower back, gains gold irises, and changes her outfit's colors into white and yellow. It also gives her a Halo like that of Fused Zamasu, only hers resembles a clock, with the hands pointing at ten and two o'clock positions. In this form, she has complete control of time and can use her Time Labyrinth technique to seal enemies and even the Demon Realm itself within the Crack of Time.

  • Brainwashed: In this state, Chronoa is under Mechikabura's control. Her hair turns white and she changes to a damaged red outfit.

  • Brainwashed Berserk: While brainwashed Chronoa is still capable of using the Time Power Unleashed state. This form is referred to as her Brainwashed Berserk state. In the manga, she uses this state against Xeno Trunks but he is able to use the Key Sword to purify her.

Other

Standard Tactics: Chronoa as a kai overlooks time-space, while her battle strategies consist of using time related abilities along with hand to hand combat and ki attacks, her usual ability being freeze to stop opponents in time, though they still retain the ability to think. She will also notably use purification spells when necessary. If an opponent is too strong, she will turn into her time power unleashed state to find them or use her time labyrinth ability to seal them outside of space-time.

Weaknesses

Note

  • The Xenoverse multiverse is listed as countless, while there are some who argue for infinite, it is shown that all time scrolls are stored within the Time Vault where it has a limit to how many can be stored. Thus showing there's a finite amount of timelines, and they are just born endlessly. Along with this, in the Dragon Ball Heroes manga, Aeos plan is to destroy all universes and have the "one true history" remain. There cannot be a one true history if there's infinite timelines and her methods of destroying them is using the time scrolls meaning she will be destroying a fininte amount of them.
  • Some clips used on the profile come from an anime or movie due to the fact that some abilities Goku use shouldn't function much differently from how they can in canon, along with this sometimes the anime version/video game version of a scene will be used for cleaner visuals. Toriyama himself directly overlooks scenes in the anime and movies and gives Toei the thumbs up[244].
  • The speed scaling for PLs are taken with a grain of salt as there are noticeable times where someone's speed isn't equal to their power, such as Burter being faster then Recoome and Jeice, along with Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks having his power greatly increased but his speed decreased.

Trivia

  • While she's usually referred to as "Supreme Kai of Time" in Xenoverse and Xenoverse 2, Old Kai calls her Chronoa in Xenoverse 2 in the Infinite History Saga.
  • Chronoa is one of the oldest Supreme Kais still living (being at least over 75 million years old) and one of the three Supreme Kais of Universe 7 known to have not been killed or absorbed by Kid Buu (due to her living in Time Nest to guard the Time Storage Vault).
    • According to Elder Kai, she is about 1000 years younger than him, and her appearance has not changed in 75 million years since he last saw her. He was originally excited at the thought of seeing her again when Chronoa asked him to help out the Time Patrol, though he reveals that he was disappointed when he discovered that her appearance had not changed at all in 75 million years.

Unused concept designs of Chronoa depicting her with an older more voluptuous appearance from the early development of Xenoverse
  • Several of Chronoa's concept designs depict her with an older more voluptuous appearance which would have been more in line with what Elder Kai would likely had envisioned. Presumably, Chronoa's current design was likely selected to contrast better with Towa's, as well as make Chronoa seem younger than she actually is. However, she is later shown able to transform into an adult form.
    • Additionally, one of her and Tokitoki's early concept designs is radically different from their later concept designs and final design. This design features her as a blue skinned adult female Supreme Kai.
      • Aeos somewhat resembles this early design as she is a blue skinned Supreme Kai of Time.
  • Her cooking is so terrible it drove Beerus insane and gave Goku a stomach cramp that stopped him from moving.
  • She is the only character in Xenoverse to refer to the Future Warrior with a feminine pronoun/terminology. During Buu Buu! Majin Buu Cutscene 4 she clearly refers to the Future Warrior with the feminine pronoun "Her".[245]
  • In Xenoverse, when you train with Gotenks and you talk to him, he'll say that he thinks Chronoa is cute and couldn't help but say yes when girls like her ask him for favors, indicating that she may have asked Gotenks to train the Future Warrior after she told him he was too young to join the Time Patrol.
  • She is the first Kai revealed to actually have a name other than her title, Chronoa. This name is likely based off Khronos/Chronos, the Greek god and personification of Time in pre-Socratic philosophy and his name is also the etymological root of several English terms relating to time such as chronology, chronometer, chronic, anachronism, and chronicle. The trend of Kais actually having names is later extended into Dragon Ball Super, starting with Zamasu and Gowasu from Universe 10 and continuing with the Supreme Kais from the other universes, as well as establishing that Shin, the World Tournament alias used by Universe 7's Eastern Supreme Kai, is, in fact, his real name.
  • In Xenoverse 2, Majin Time Patroller Kyume reveals she once asked Chronoa her type and reveals that Chronoa is attracted to wild, tough, and handsome older men that are also open-minded, almost like how she thought Bardock was "dreamy".
  • In Xenoverse 2, Chronoa's hairstyle appears as Custom Hair Option Type 24 for Saiyans and Earthlings. It also appears as a hairstyle option for Tekka if they are a female Offworlder in Dragon Ball Fusions.
  • Despite her rank, Chronoa is subordinate to Zeno/Future Zeno, their attendants, and the Grand Minister whom out rank her. It is implied in Xenoverse 2 that Future Zeno and his attendants were permitted to take up residence in the main timeline due to the simple fact that Future Zeno is beyond her authority, and she would not wish to upset him or Zeno whom Future Zeno befriended. Additionally, she may have empathized with Zeno's desire for a friend and equal as she had spent many years in the Time Nest alone with only Tokitoki to keep her company thus might understand Zeno's loneliness and Future Zeno had no place to go when the future world corrupted by Infinite Zamasu got erased. However, it is unknown if she fears them like the other gods do as she has yet to be shown interacting with any of them.

Codex Statistics Questions

Q: What about the planetary feats in Dragon Ball?

A: Planetary feats are normally done through their strongest charged blast, where they can gather ki to shoot out blast far beyond what the character is normally capable of[246], with blasts capable of[247] seriously damaging/destroying[248] the Earth along with completely obliterating the opponent[249], though they themselves are never capable of leaving this unscathed.

Frieza throws a destroy the planet death ball attack but it doesn't destroy the planet. Goku then interestingly notes the reason the planet didn't blow up is because Frieza was too scared of getting caught in the blast[250] . Vegeta's final flash is noted it's going to destroy the planet and Perfect Cell, who is beyond Vegeta, couldn't tank the blast and had to dodge it last second or it would've killed him[251]. Goku's kamehameha was going to destroy the earth and Cell cannot tank this blast, needing to regenerate[252]. Semi-Perfect Cell explosion was consistently noted it was going to destroy the planet and Gohan and it killed Goku[253]. Ultimate Gohan dies to an attack that destroys the earth, his guard was up too since this was when he was fighting Super Buu[254]. Kid Buu shoots a blast trying to destroy the planet, with Vegeta noting he's going to take himself out with it if he lets it off[255]. In Dragon Ball GT, Great Ape Baby Vegeta shoots a super galick gun that he claims will destroy Earth, when Goku is hit by it, he is knocked out to the point that he can't move for a good while, Elder Kai and Shin later state that Baby is going to shoot another blast that will destroy the planet on, greatly injuring Baby if he's caught in the Blast and will kill everyone on the planet if done[256]. Frieza destroyed the entire earth, killing Vegeta in the process[257]. In the Dragon Ball Super Manga, Gohan tells Goku that he doesn't need to hold anything back and can go all out because anything that happens to the Earth can be restored with Dende and the Dragon Balls. Yet, none of Goku's all out attacks destroy the planet but just heavily causes shockwaves around it[258]. Semi-Perfect Cell unleashes a several blast that destroys several islands Android 16 notes that the attacks are just strong enough to not kill Android 18[259].

In the fight of Trunks vs. Mecha Frieza, who is far stronger than his final form, Mecha Frieza immediately goes for his strongest attack, the Supernova. In the original Z anime King Kai even states this is ten times stronger than the power he used on Namek:

  • DBZ Kai Version[260].
  • Original DBZ Anime Version[261]. The attack is directly noted that it could destroy the planet, but doesn't because Trunks catches it, when Mecha Frieza proceeds to detonate it, the explosion is massive but the planet is still intact, implying Frieza must target the core in order to destroy the planet.
