Background
Frisk is the main protagonist of Undertale, who is controlled by The Anomaly. Throughout the game, Frisk will either make friends or kill everything in their path deciding on what you choose. In-game they're supposedly a mute, but they're capable of speaking on the phone with people.
This dropdown contains the synopsis of Frisk’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise! |

General Information
Name: Frisk
Origin: Undertale
Sex: Unknown (Their Sex is left up to interpretation)
Age: Unknown, likely Pre-Teens (Referred to as a kid by Toriel and Sans)
Classification: Surface Dweller, Angel & Angel of Death (In Geron's story there's an angel noted in the prophecy, where an angel will descend from above and free the monsters, though this can be interpreted as either saving them or a harbinger of destruction waiting to 'free' them from the mortal realm, with pacifist and genocide route reflecting both)
Species: Human
State of Being: Regular
Occupation: Ambassador for Monsterkind (If Frisk says yes to Asgore Dreemurr in the true pacifist ending)
Affiliations: Underground (Pacifist Route and Some of Neutral Route), Spiders (In routes that they they donate to them), Humanity (In Pacifist and Neutral Routes)
Enemies: Humans & Underground (During genocide route. Directly noted by Undyne the Undying during a genocide route that Frisk is the enemy of both humans and monsters), Asriel Dreemurr (During True Pacifist Boss Fight), Flowey (During pacifist and neutral routes)
Status: Alive, Other after genocide route (After completing the genocide route, every ending shows that Frisk has been fully possessed by Chara)
Alignment: True Neutral (Frisk will choose any path that they want to see how the outcomes may go, regardless of their choices they will never truly feel any impact from them)
Codex Statistics
Key: Physical Form | SOUL Form | Full Determination
Grade: A | 'A' | S
Tier: At least 10-A, possibly Higher | At least 10-A, possibly Higher | At least 10-A, possibly Higher
Cardinality: Finite
Dimensionality: 3-D
Attack Potency: At least Peak Human level, possibly Higher (As stated by the "librarby" books, humans in their physical forms are far stronger than monsters. This should scale Frisk to monsters. Can harm enemies that can harm them) | At least Peak Human level, possibly Higher (Defeated Asgore in combat, however, as stated by the librarby, monsters are weaker when they don't want to fight. Along with this, a human's SOUL form is made specifically for a way for monsters to fight humans outside of their physical forms) | At least Peak Human level, possibly Higher
Durability: At least Peak Human level, possibly Higher (Should be comparable to the likes of Chara, who survived a fall from the mountain top. As humans in their physical forms are far stronger than monsters, Frisk's durability by proxy should scale) | At least Peak Human level, possibly Higher | At least Peak Human level, his Determination and Resilience makes him incredibly difficult to kill (Despite the immense difference in power, Frisk is able to survive attacks Asriel throws at him, something not logically possible but due to their determination, they refuse to die to Asriel)
Striking Strength: Below Average Human punching force during Pacifist Route (Even punching at full force Frisk only knocks over a tomato, along with attacking Undyne seriously only dealing 1 damage, this is due to Pacifist Route Frisk having no capacity to harm people). At least Peak Human Class, possibly Higher | At least Peak Human Class, possibly Higher | At least Peak Human Class, possibly Higher
Lifting Strength: Average Human (Can casually lift the Annoying Dog along with other items on their person) | Average Human | Average Human
Travel Speed: Average Human (Could somewhat outrun Undyne for a bit) | Average Human, Higher with Sea Tea (Sea Tea increases Frisk's SPEED for the entire battle) | Average Human
Attack Speed: Transonic | Transonic | Transonic
Reaction Speed: Transonic (Shouldn't be any slower then their SOUL form) | Transonic (Can maneuver and dodge around the Greater Dog's barks, a sound based attack) | Transonic
Stamina: Average, Superhuman with Full Determination (Can repeatedly create dreams from nothing and withstand even the most powerful attacks)
Range: Standard Melee, Extended Melee with other weapons, likely Hundreds of Meters with Empty Gun, Universal to Multi-Universal with Reset (Causes Frisk to go to a new timeline with each reset), Multiversal with True Reset (Resets the entire Undertale multiverse)
Intelligence: Above Average (Can solve many puzzles to progress within the Underground)

Notable Techniques
FIGHT: Frisk is prompted to pick an enemy to attack. Frisk can attack one enemy each turn.

ACT: Frisk is prompted to select an enemy, and is then given one or more ACT options which are specific to that enemy.

ITEM: Using consumable items regains health. Some consumable items are capable of increasing stats. Using equipment items other than the Bandage or Stick equips them.

MERCY: Sparing means that Frisk does not want to fight. Frisk is encouraged on multiple occasions on their journey to show mercy to the opponents they fight.

Other
Standard Tactics: Frisk tactics depends on the route Frisk is on. If neutral, Frisk's tactic normally will be to attack if necessary and use the ACT command to find out things about their enemy and find potential alternatives to the fight. If the pacifist route Frisk will never use the FIGHT command, unless absolutely necessary, going for ACT and MERCY tactics. Genocide route Frisk will go striaght for the FIGHT command, always attempting to slaughter all the opponents in their way. Even with these routes in mind, Frisk is still technically a wild card as they could switch at any moment, such as they could be on their pacifist route and suddenly opt to murder enemies and vice versa with the genocide route.
Weaknesses: Can be forced into soul combat, otherwise nothing notable.

Trivia
- The word "frisk" can mean several things:
- To "frisk" means to skip or leap playfully, or to pat down on someone, looking for a hidden item.
- "Frisk" is the Swedish and Norwegian word for "healthy," and the Danish word for "fresh."
- "Frisky" means "playful and full of energy."
- Naming the fallen human "Frisk" initiates Hard Mode.
- When just tapping right, Frisk does not put their foot up. This is not true for the other directions.
- When holding up and down on the north wall of any room, Frisk will appear to flash quickly between their two north and south sprites.
- This is informally called as the Frisk dance by players such as Merg.
- When in the room overlooking the castle with the Monster Kid and going either left or right while holding up and down, Frisk walks twice as fast.
- Frisk appears to be left-handed. Evidence includes:
- Holding the umbrella and glass of water using their left hand.
- The slicing attack animation curving to the right, implying that force was carried from the left to the right during the attack.
- Most fatality battle sprites display steep slashes from top left to bottom right, a pattern not commonly made by someone who is right-handed.
- While Frisk is allergic to Temmie,[3] this is not true of the other furry residents of the Underground.
- When hugging Asriel, other purple stripes appear on Frisk's shirt sleeves.
- At the end of the True Pacifist Route, Napstablook was the only monster who did not know Frisk's name until they mention it.[4]
- Frisk is the last of the eight humans to fall into the Underground after traveling to Mount Ebott. Out of all the humans that fell, Frisk is the only human to survive the adventure in any ending.
- Frisk is only alluded to in Flowey's UNDERTALE Alarm Clock App dialogue, where one of his talksprites mimics their blank expression.
- Toby Fox was asked two interview questions regarding Frisk. One was whether Frisk's pronoun is a design choice, and in regards to Frisk's parents not being mentioned in-game. However, Toby responded with "Skip" to both questions, as he was offered to skip any questions he did not want to answer.[5]

- In a joke thread on Starmen.net, Toby Fox posted early files from Undertale saying they were from an EarthBound hack called "UnderBound 2."[6]
- It was said that Frisk was a young androgynous child who was the step-cousin of "Squeezo" from the non-existent EarthBound hack, "UnderBound."
- Frisk was also shown to have black outlines with black hair and shoes compared to the lighter brown seen in the final version of the game. The artbook reveals this was changed because the sprite did not show up on the game's dark backgrounds that well.
- It was also jokingly mentioned that Frisk's love interest was a female Cuban cigar,[7] concerning a question of whether the "love" in the game was romantic or like love of a fine cigar.
- Frisk's striped clothing is most likely a reference to the "Mother" franchise, which was Toby Fox's major inspiration for Undertale. The main protagonists of each installment also wore striped clothing.
