I'm Usagi Tsukino. I'm 14 years old, and in my second year of middle school. And I have to admit... ...I'm kind of a crybaby.

I'm Usagi Tsukino. I'm 14 years old, and in my second year of middle school. My hobbies are eating, sleeping, and slacking off. I'm kind of a crybaby, but otherwise, I'm just a normal loveable young lady. ...Or I was normal. But thanks to this stupid talking cat, Luna, now I have to be a guardian of justice. I don't believe this!

I'm Usagi Tsukino. I'm a second-year middle school student who loves sleeping and hanging out at the arcade. But actually, thanks to this talking cat, Luna... ...I have to be a guardian of justice now.

It just... It doesn't feel real. Being back home, with all of you home like this... ...I'm just so happy! I should be grateful, and I am. ...But I'm greedy, too. Without Chibi Usa, the house juse feels... ...Empty. I will do whatever it takes to find them. I will bring them back safe and sound, I swear it. Because they're two of the most important people in my life, just like all of you. And I hope you'll all help me.
~ Usagi's determination to save Chibi Usa and Tuxedo Mask during Black Kingdom arc

Mamo-chan. Everyone of us... ...Has a star in our heart. Yeah. And when you get that hot feeling in your chest, it's a sign that your star is shining. I want to make my dream come true. I want to protect the ones I love, I want to keep fighting. So please, star in my heart. Keep shining, and lend me your strength!
~ Usagi at the end of the Dreams Arc

I am the Pretty Guardian who Fights for Love and for Justice. I am Sailor Moon! And now in the name of the moon, I will punish you!
~ Sailor Moon's introduction

Me? I'm, uhh... I am the guardian of love and justice. I am the pretty sailor-suited soldier! Sailor Moon!

I am the guardian of love and justice! I am the pretty sailor-suited soldier! I am Sailor Moon!! I am Princess Serenity! And with the power of the moon, I will seal you away!

...Endymion. I love you. You were my first love, my only love. If I'm ever reborn, I know I'll find you again. I know that someday, we will fall in love again.

Because I made a wish. I wished for our hearts to come together as one. I wished for you to lend me your strength. See? We can be united. I mean, we are all guardians. We're all on the same team.
~ Sailor Moon to the Outer Planets Sailor Guardians

No, you can't! You just can't! You can't kill her!! There is a way to save everyone! Saturn might not wake up. We know we have a future! I don't know how, but the world won't be destroyed. We're going to be fine! We can do it. We can save everything. You can't kill her... You can't...!
~ Sailor Moon's response to the Outer Planets Sailor Guardians plan to killing Sailor Saturn

Uranus! Neptune! Pluto! I'm surrounded... ...By darkness?! I'm scared! Uranus! Neptune! Pluto! I can't use my voice! Where is everyone? Venus! Jupiter! Mercury! Mars! I would have never agreed to split up... ...If I'd known I'd be this worried!! Mamo-chan, Chibi Usa! I can never do anything without my friends around! What do I do?! I'm all alone in the dark. What can I do?! They were our one ray of light. And when their light shone down on me, it filled me with strength. There was nothing I couldn't do. The light... ...was always there to guide us. Telling us, "It's alright. Don't give up." Of course whnever I need them... ...My friends light my path and show me the way. When the pressure is overwhelming, I always remember them. ...I have a light inside me, and it's all of your hearts joined as one. All I have to do is believe, and just like that, the light will start to shine! I... ...Am Super Sailor Moon! The Guardian who shines with the power given to me by my friends! I will be the light dispelling the darkness! No darkness or illusion will beat me!!

I can sacrifice myself all I want, but it won't stop the fighting. The only way is to win this war!! I won't let you have it. I will use the power of the silver moon crystal... ...To end this war once and for all! The Sailor Crystals don't exist to destroy things or fight battles! They exist for peace and happiness, and rebirth! And I will always believe that!!

I am... ...The future queen, Neo Queen Serenity. I am meant to protect the Earth, and everyone in it. I'm not alone. I am not alone. Believe, Usagi. Believe in your power. There's one thing you need to do right now. And that... ...Is to find Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter. They must be on Nemesis somewhere. Mercury, Mars, Jupiter!

Background

Usagi Tsukino is the Sailor Guardian of love and justice: Sailor Moon. She is the reincarnation of Princess Serenity and the titular character of the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon manga.

This dropdown contains the synopsis of Usagi Tsukino’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!

Appearance

Civilian
Usagi has blue eyes and long blonde hair that she wears in odango. She has porcelain skin and a slim figure. She is the shortest of the original 5 Senshi.

The outfit that Usagi usually wears is a blue middle-school sailor uniform. The uniform has a blue sailor collar with three white stripes. She has a red ribbon on the front of her uniform, which she ties her magical brooch to. She has a white blouse with blue sleeve-cuffs that have three white stripes, just like the collar.

In the summer, she wears a white, short-sleeved blouse with puffed sleeves. She has a blue pleated skirt with a blue ribbon on the back. She usually wears white socks and black cross-strap Mary Jane shoes.

Sailor Moon
Sailor Moon’s standard uniform consists of a white chest-armored leotard with a blue sailor collar that has three white stripes on it, white gloves with three red arm fittings that reach just below her elbows, yellow tinted shoulder pads, a wavy blue skirt with a puffy white belt sat above it, along with a red bow on the chest and at the back. She also sports a pair of red short heeled knee-high boots with a white border at the triangular top that has golden crescent moons, earrings consisting of grey studs with golden stars and golden crescent moons beneath, white-bordered red circular hairpieces (one on each odango), feather barrettes in her hair, and a white choker with a golden crescent moon on it and a clip that is similar to her transformation brooch attached to it. Her brooch is worn in the middle of her chest bow, and she wore a mask that disappeared after Act 16.

When she gains Moon Cosmic Power, Make Up, her choker becomes red with a yellow heart at the center.

Her tiara underwent a few changes; at first, it was a golden tiara with a red oval-shaped gem at its center. It later disappeared after she threw it at Jadeite in Act 3. A new one appeared in Act 4 which looked like the old one, but the gem in the center was larger, and the tiara itself had a more intricate design. After she met Sailor Venus in Act 8, her tiara changed into the shape of a crescent moon with a red gem in the center, and after awakening as Princess Serenity in Act 9, the tiara shattered and was replaced with the mark of a singular crescent moon; the tiara eventually reverted to its original form with the commencement of the Black Moon arc.

Super Sailor Moon
As Super Sailor Moon, her uniform underwent many changes; her earrings are now singular crescent moons affixed to her ears, her choker is yellow with a pink heart in the center, the stripes on her collar change from white to golden, and her shoulder pads are white, translucent, and more wing-like in shape. Her back waist bow becomes white, long, translucent, and billowy. Her collar is blue in the front and yellow in the back, the colors blending into each other over her shoulders. Her skirt is now white with a blue and yellow border at the bottom; the colors blend into each other similar to how they do on her collar. The red gem on her tiara is replaced with a gold crescent moon, a puffy golden belt sits above her usual white belt, and a second Cosmic Heart Compact is attached to the center of her belt.

Eternal Sailor Moon
When Usagi became Eternal Sailor Moon, her uniform underwent the most radical changes; she no longer wears a tiara and instead has a golden crescent moon on her forehead, her leotard no longer has chest armor, her earrings have a golden star attached beneath each crescent moon, and her choker is red and v-shaped with a pink heart at the center and a golden crescent moon beneath it. The collar itself is like her original one, but it is a darker shade of blue with three golden stripes. In the place of her shoulder pads are pink bubble-like sleeves with two red fittings at the ends; they have somewhat of a translucent aspect to them. In the area where her chest bow was located is a pair of white angel wings with a pink heart that has a golden crescent moon attached to it sitting at its center. Her gloves now have red, v-shaped wristbands with golden crescent moons on them, the fittings at the ends of the gloves have feather barrettes attached to them similar to the ones in her hair, and the gloves themselves are now extended to reach up to her upper arms. Her belt is now comprised of two ribbons (the one on top is yellow and the one beneath it is red) clipped together by a golden crescent moon; the bottom ribbon extends past her skirt, mimicking the flowing effect that her previous back bow had. Her back bow is replaced with a set of large white angel wings, her skirt is now composed of three layers (the top layer is yellow, the middle layer is red, the bottom layer is blue), and her boots are now white and knee-length with a slightly larger heel and red v-shaped borders that have golden crescent moons on them.

Princess Serenity
Usagi occasionally takes the form of her past-life: Princess Serenity. In this form, Usagi wore a white flowing gown with white shoulder pieces disconnected from her dress, an intricately decorated bodice with gold hoops, with the bust defined by a row of golden beads. Trailing at the back, was a white gauzy bow with long fluttery ribbons. Under the dress she wore white stiletto high heel shoes. She also wore golden spiral earrings and a six round hairpins, three on each side, similar to her Sailor forms. Unlike her past self, her hair is yellow instead of white.

Neo-Queen Serenity
At the end of the Infinity and Dream arcs, Usagi takes a form resembling her future self: Neo-Queen Serenity. Compared to her Princess form, the bow at her back is much larger. Her dress is longer and the ribbons from it are longer as well. She carries her Spiral Heart Moon Rod in the Infinity arc, and her Eternal Tiare in the Dream arc. Unlike her future self, her hair is still yellow and she does not wear a crown; though, some artwork depicts this form with a crown.

History

Background
Usagi and her younger brother Shingo lived in a Tokyo home with their parents Kenji and Ikuko Tsukino. She lead an average life in Tokyo's Azabu-Juban district and attended middle school with her friends Naru, Umino, Yumiko, and Kuri.

Dark Kingdom Arc
One morning she sleeps in and is late for school. She accidentally steps on a black cat, Luna, while en route. To apologize, she kissed the cat and removed a bandage on her forehead but receives a scratch and strange look in response. It was not a good day at school. She tried to throw her test paper with a 30% grade away but hit a highschooler, Mamoru Chiba, who tells her to study harder next time. Ikuko was not happy about the test result either. Eventually, Usagi goes to her room to study but takes a nap and dreams she is like the great Sailor V instead. Luna wakes her and started speaking but Usagi did not believe it and didn't listen until the feline gave her a brooch and told her to say "Moon Prism Power, Make Up". This transforms her into a Sailor Guardian like Sailor V: Sailor Moon. Her new outfit and mask allows her to see her friend Naru being attacked by a monster targeting her and others for their energy. Luna informs Usagi it is her job to save her. Sailor Moon defeats the monster through her crying and Luna's directions. With the people saved, the handsome Tuxedo Mask appears and introduces himself before disappearing into the night leaving Usagi enamored.

Luna tells Usagi it is her mission to find the Princess and her fellow Guardians as she returns to her normal life. One day after school, Luna jumps on the cute school genius Ami Mizuno prompting Usagi to speak with her. She tries to befriend Ami, hoping she can help with her academics, by taking her to Crown Game Center and playing the Sailor V game. Usagi does not do well, but Ami sets a high score winning a pen while Usagi brute forces a pen of her own. Ami leaves to head to the Crystal Seminar to study. Over the next few days, Luna and Usagi learn the Seminar is another front of their enemy and is brainwashing students into looking for a Silver Crystal and stealing their energy. Usagi heads there to save Ami and the other students and in the process of killing the monster has another encounter with Tuxedo Mask and witnesses Ami awaken as fellow Guardian: Sailor Mercury.

While on a bus, Usagi spies a pretty girl, Rei Hino, getting off and follows her to Hikawa Shrine. She befriends the girl after a misunderstanding and learns of people going missing after catching a 6 pm bus. Mamoru Chiba catches Luna speaking again while she and Usagi return to the Shrine to investigate. They see Rei get abducted on a bus which disappears into another dimension. Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury follow and see Rei awaken into Sailor Mars as all three work together to defeat Jadeite.

All three Senshi investigate a Masquerade being held by Kingdom D suspecting their treasure may be the Silver Crystal. Their enemies had the same idea and plan to crash the party and possess Princess D and steal the treasure. During the party, Usagi encounters Tuxedo Mask again and after their enemies attack he saves her. Sailor Moon gains a new tiara and saves the Princess with Moon Twilight Flash. They find the treasure was not the Silver Crystal.

While walking to school and talking to Luna, Usagi stops paying attention and affectionately thinks about Tuxedo Mask. She walks in front of traffic and is saved by Makoto Kino. Makoto is a new transfer student that everyone else tries to stay away from but Usagi spends lunchtime with her and invites her to the arcade with Ami. They talk about a rumour of a Ghost Bride Usagi had heard earlier with Naru, Yumiko, and Kuri which curses people. All three head to Hikawa Shrine to talk to Rei about it. That night, the Ghost Bride targets Motoki and Makoto. While Usagi is asleep, Tuxedo Mask arrives at her window, wakes her up, and leads her to the Youma. Makoto awakens as Sailor Jupiter and she and the other three Senshi take down the Ghost Bride and Nephrite who was controlling the bride and had posessed Princess D at the Masquerade. With four Sailor Guardians, Luna gives Usagi the Moon Stick and tells her she is the leader and it's her duty to protect the Silver Crystal and the Moon Princess.

Luna had never told them they were protecting a Moon Princess from a Moon Kingdom and that she was from that Kingdom herself. Their enemies brainwash the populace, including Usagi, to look for the Silver Crystal. When Zoisite realizes nobody can find it he drains the energy of everyone mind-controlled. Tuxedo Mask finds Usagi collapsed in the street and wakes her up to tell her to transform into Sailor Moon and save Tokyo. Her new Moon Stick appears in her hand and she uses it like Sailor V did in the arcade game which restores everyone drained by Zoisite. Usagi faints from exhaustion and Tuxedo Mask carries her off and she feels something familiar. She awakens in Mamoru's bed and finds a broken pocket watch.

She learns Mamoru is Tuxedo Mask and he's looking for the Silver Crystal for a clue of his lost memory. Despite Luna's warnings she wants to trust him. As she is leaving, she accidentally takes the watch and he calls her "Usako" while Usagi decides to call him "Mamo-chan" and to keep the encounter secret. The Senshi find a wave of brainwashing videotapes that are coming from rental stores and people across the city are searching for Sailor Moon. The other Senshi and the enemy were impressed by the regenerative power Usagi gave off with her Moon Stick. They get a hold of one of the movies and bring it to the Sailor V game for analysis. The game appears broken and Sailor V appears on screen and tells Usagi that people's lives are in danger. Sailor Moon uses her Moon Stick to heal the brainwashed crowds of people but Zoisite appears and grabs her. Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter fail to save her and just before he kills her Artemis and Sailor Venus attack and destroy Zoisite.

Artemis introduces Sailor V as "Princess Serenity" the heir of the Silver Millennium who has a secret identity Minako Aino who is a fellow middle schooler. Kunzite of the Dark Kingdom targets all of Tokyo and the Senshi battle him at Tokyo Tower. Sailor Moon throws herself in front of an attack to protect the "Princess" and Tuxedo Mask does the same for her taking the fatal blow. In Usagi's grief, the Silver Crystal becomes unsealed, she remembers her past life, and takes the form of Princess Serenity. Queen Beryl and Kunzite kidnap Mamoru. Sailor Venus reveals she is the true leader of Serenity's Protectors and had been acting as a decoy princess until the other Senshi regained their memories. To learn more about the Dark Kingdom and Silver Crystal they head to the Moon.

There she sees ruins and meets a computerized Queen Serenity who tells the group about Queen Metalia and how the Silver Crystal's power depends on Usagi's own heart. Kunzite attacks Tokyo again and Sailor Moon restores the people while her protectors finish him. "Endo", a brainwashed Mamoru, appears at the arcade leaving Usagi unsettled. He brainwashes Makoto and lures everyone to the Command Center where he attempts to take the Silver Crystal. Queen Beryl arrives to help but is killed by Sailor Venus who faints after the Holy Sword glows. Tuxedo Mask kidnaps Minako and escapes through a portal to D Point with Sailor Moon close behind.

Usagi finds he really isn't her Prince Endymion and attacks him with the Holy Sword and stabs herself and faints. She awakens inside Queen Metalia who is devastating the Earth's populace and finds she hit Mamoru's watch with the sword. Her Silver Crystal takes its Lotus form and she revives Tuxedo Mask and escapes outside. With his support, she destroys Metalia. Her brooch shatters and she falls unconscious to be awakened by her Prince's kiss. She teleports them to the Moon which is no longer ruins and speaks to Luna, Artemis, and Queen Serenity. She is given her Crystal Star brooch that holds the Silver Crystal, transforms with Moon Crystal Power, Make Up, and uses Moon Healing Escalation to revive everyone on Earth including Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako whom she reunites with.

Later, she meets Mamoru in the park planning to return his watch but a portal in the sky opens and a small Usagi Tsukino demands the Silver Crystal at gunpoint.

Black Moon Arc
The gun is not real and after the situation calms down Mamoru and Usagi bring the chibi-Usagi to Usagi's house where she brainwashes Umino and Usagi's family into thinking she lives there. Usagi was not happy. Chibiusa even starts going to elementary school and in the short story Chibiusa's Picture Diary Chapter 1 - Beware of the Transfer Student Sailor Moon and Sailor V save the child from a vampire.

Not long after, a new enemy appears and abducts Rei, Ami, and Makoto one by one. The Black Moon is looking for Chibiusa but the child does not share information about herself or these new enemies. Eventually, Chibiusa steals Usagi's brooch with the Silver Crystal inside. Before Usagi can take it back Rubeus attacks but they are saved by Tuxedo Mask's Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber. Usagi snatches it back, transforms, and saves Venus from Calaveras with Moon Princess Halation. Chibiusa tells the three of them she is from the future and asks them to save the 30th Century.

The next day, they head to the future along with Artemis and Luna as Chibiusa uses her Space-Time Key. After traveling through the portal they encounter the Door of Space and Time and its guardian Sailor Pluto. Pluto initially attacks Sailor Moon and the others seeing them as intruders but she becomes friendly after Chibiusa speaks to her. Pluto asks them to take care of her princess as they leave. Usagi is shocked at the idea that Chibiusa is a princess. They see the destroyed Crystal Tokyo and, after Venus and Mamoru take down more Black Moon minions, reach the Crystal Palace.

Inside, they meet King Endymion, Diana, and see the sleeping Neo-Queen Serenity. Usagi is even more shocked and embarrassed to learn Chibiusa is her future daughter with Mamoru. After learning of Crystal Tokyo, Nemesis, and the Black Moon Clan from the King, they briefly return to the past as she and Mamoru spent too long near their future selves. Usagi is upset by Mamoru's prioritization and monopolization of Chibiusa and lashes out. The child returns to the Crystal Palace on her own and is attacked by Esmeraude. Venus and Mamoru save her but Sailor Moon finds she can't use her power and is kidnapped by Prince Demande.

After an unpleasant encounter with the Prince, Usagi finds she is a prisoner at Nemesis and can't transform. While looking for Rei, Ami, and Makoto she encounters Saphir who attempts to kill her but she is saved by Neo-Queen Serenity who briefly possesses her, rescues her three friends, and they all use a Space-Time Key to escape Nemesis. At the Door of Space and Time, Usagi learns Mamoru and Chibiusa have gone missing.

After a failed rescue attempt, the Senshi return to the future to find Black Lady, a brainwashed Tuxedo Mask, Wiseman, and the remains of the Black Moon clan. They save the future Earth through Pluto's self-sacrifice. Her death brings Chibiusa back to her true self and awakens her Silver Crystal. Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon together, with Tuxedo Mask's help, strike down Death Phantom and her brooch and Cutie Moon Rod shatter. Neo-Queen Serenity grants her a Cosmic Heart Compact and has Chibiusa deliver a Spiral Heart Moon Rod to replace the broken ones and their future selves see them off as they return to the past for good.

As Chibiusa prepares to return to the future, neither girl is happy to lose the other and they say their goodbyes. From Usagi's point of view, Chibiusa returns almost immediately with a letter from Neo-Queen Serenity asking her to take care of the Sailor Guardian trainee.

Infinity Arc
A new school year has begun with Usagi and her friends in their last year of middle school. Usagi's dream of a wedding with Mamoru is interrupted by her alarm clock and is late for school. She is also late for her regular before school rendezvous with Mamoru and has his attention stolen by Chibiusa and Diana. She knows this time of peace won't last.

After school, she brings Naru to the arcade and meets with the Inner Senshi. Usagi is shown up at a racing game by the famous Haruka Tenou - a student at Mugen Academy who leaves with the equally famous Michiru Kaiou. On the street the Senshi witness a Mugen student transform into a monster and after Jupiter and Venus destroy it decide to investigate that school the next day.

Usagi uses her Disguise Pen to sneak inside and is lured by the sound of a violin. She finds Michiru who gives Usagi a stern warning about Mugen and Usagi runs when security finds her. Usagi runs into Chibiusa with a sickly girl, Hotaru Tomoe. Another Daimon appears and the moon princesses transform and Sailor Moon uses Moon Spiral Heart Attack to destroy it. They all see two figures which look like another Senshi and Tuxedo Mask fly off into the night.

Usagi is confused why new Senshi would be avoiding them and secretly suspects they were Michiru and Haruka. The next day, Haruka appears at Crown Game Center and Usagi asks if Haruka is a Sailor Guardian. Haruka acts dumb and Usagi feels dumber for asking that to a guy and the Inner Senshi interrupt warning Haruka to stay away. Days later, they decide to crash Rei's mountain retreat to celebrate her 15th birthday. That night, Ami and Minako wake Usagi up to a battle and she arrives just in time to destroy a monster Mars and Jupiter were fighting. Usagi spots the Senshi and chases after them this time and receives a kiss from the Senshi leaving Usagi confused on their identity and even has a dream about it. She has a hard time looking at Mamoru at the next morning's meetup.

After school, she sees Haruka at the arcade again and gives Usagi tickets to Michiru's upcoming concert at Mugen Academy and decides to take Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako to it where they encounter Mamoru and Chibiusa who had received tickets from Michiru. The concert abruptly stops and Minako warns them Mimi Hanyuu is a Death Buster in another concert hall and head there. With the witch destroyed, Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune introduce themselves and they learn they carry the Talisman they have been having premonitions about. The two Senshi deny working with them and attack Usagi knocking her out.

Around this time, Usagi celebrates a joint birthday party with Chibiusa during Chibiusa's Picture Diary Chapter 2.

While waiting for Mamoru, Haruka appears before Usagi again and gets close to her which deepens her confusion and Mamoru spots them. Mamoru and Usagi have been getting jealous of each other's encounters with the two new Senshi. Chibiusa diffuses the situation by having them spend time crafting a model Holy Grail with her. Usagi joins Chibiusa as she visits Hotaru, thinking it isn't safe, and while there Usagi meets Professor Tomoe and Kaolinite. As the pair head home, Usagi spots Haruka and Michiru and chases after them. She ends up at Haruka's apartment wanting to ask why they keep running and why they can't work together but is shut out. She meets back up with Chibiusa and the Inner Guardians in investigating Mugen Botanical Gardens. There they encounter Tellu who is finished by a reincarnated Sailor Pluto.

Usagi takes her Princess Serenity form and the three Outer Senshi apologize and order the others to leave the Death Busters up to them while remaining vague on their plans. On another night, a hail starts falling which drains the people of Tokyo of their energy. Usagi and the Inners spot the Outers fighting Cyprine and head there to help with Sailor Chibi Moon and Tuxedo Mask. Ptilo appears and the Witches brainwash the Inner and Outer Guardians into fighting each other. Usagi, Chibiusa, and Mamoru combine their hearts which summons the real Holy Grail. With it they free the other Senshi and all of them offer their power to it which allows Usagi to transform into Super Sailor Moon and obliterate the witches.

The Outer Guardians decide to share their plan. They plan to kill Hotaru and seal away Sailor Saturn before she can awaken and destroy the world like she did during the Silver Millennium. As they expected, Usagi strongly disagrees which justifies their reluctance to work with Usagi and her friends. Chibiusa runs off but she does not reach Hotaru rather a newly awakened Mistress 9 who steals her Silver Crystal and soul. Everyone rushes her to the hospital and after they discuss and understand what happened Usagi and the Inners return to Mugen Academy for the final battle to save Chibiusa while the Outers plan to kill Hotaru who is now a Death Buster.

Usagi and the Inners are defeated by the revived Witches 5 but Sailor Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus save them. Usagi retakes her Super form and destroys Kaolinite after Neptune locates her. The Sailor Guardians split up with Sailor Moon joining the Outers to the basement while the Inners check the higher floors. In the basement they find Professor Tomoe who turns into a monster and attacks. After finishing him, Sailor Moon hears Hotaru's soul mourning her father and they immediately escape as the building is destroyed. The Inners did not and Usagi loses her Super form.

As the Outers focus on containing Pharaoh 90 who is trying to engulf the Earth, Sailor Moon is ineffective against Mistress 9 and watches as Hotaru sacrifices what's left of herself to save the Inners and Chibiusa. Usagi retakes her Super form alongside Super Sailor Chibi Moon who awakens her own Holy Grail. When they all attack, they only strengthen Mistress 9 and Pharaoh 90 who then merge. With everyone else out of strength and Pharaoh 90 covering the Earth, Super Sailor Moon decides to take her Holy Grail and Silver Crystal and unleash their power inside of the darkness and dives in as everyone else looks on in horror.

She deals a mortal blow to Pharaoh 90 and when she emerges she triggers the Inner and Outer Senshi to take their Super forms and the newly awakened Sailor Saturn sacrifices herself to dislodge it from the Earth and take Pharaoh 90 away from the planet. Usagi takes her Neo-Queen Serenity form and revives the Earth and its people. Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune find a baby and leave promising to return someday.

Through the rest of the school year the girls study for their High School exams which is shown in the Exam Battle stories. Sailor Moon, Sailor V, and Sailor Chibi Moon also exorcise a haunted cavity causing Dental Office in Chibiusa's Picture Diary Chapter 3 - Beware of Cavities.

On April 1st, the start of the next school year, Usagi celebrates her admission to Juban High School alongside Ami, Makoto, and Minako. She then leaves with Mamoru to see Chibiusa and Diana off as they are returning to the 30th Century. When the group arrives at the park they see a crowd gathered to witness a solar eclipse. A Pegasus appears before them asking for help from a maiden and disappears. Usagi and Chibiusa each believe he is speaking to them.

Dream Arc
Immediately after, the eclipse begins and the group see a bizarre ship floating in and announcing itself as the Dead Moon Circus which vanishes as the eclipse ends. Chibiusa cannot head home with the large crowd and so they head into town. The girls guilt trip Mamoru into buying them matching kaleidoscopes, and letting them sleep over. Usagi and Mamoru share a dream of Chibiusa riding around on that Pegasus and wake up to find she and Diana had tried to leave but the Space-Time Key didn't work. Instead, they investigate an escaped Dead Moon Circus Tiger and encounter PallaPalla and VesVes. In the conflict the girls regain the ability to take their Super forms and Helios turns their kaleidoscopes into weapons. As the new enemies retreat, Mamoru catches up to them and collapses. As Usagi and Chibiusa detransform, their ages are swapped.

They take Mamoru to the hospital and tell the Inner Senshi what happened before little-Usagi accompanies Mamoru home. She gets an emergency call from Ami and arrives at Ami's Home with Chibiusa. When they transform the age reversal spell is broken and they finish Fish Eye together with Moon Gorgeous Meditation. Helios reappears before them and after Super Sailor Mercury suggests he is looking for Sailor Moon, or Princess Serenity, Chibiusa runs away. They find her after gathering everyone.

Everyone decides to investigate the Dead Moon Circus itself. Everyone, but Rei, Phobos, Deimos, and the cats, watch a show in the Big Top but it is a trap to drain the crowd's energy. Rei saves them and tells them what happened afterward. Mamoru becomes sicker, missing school, but when Usagi brings groceries he tells her to leave. She gets Chibiusa to check on him next time worried it'll happen again and as they head home together they notice Super Sailor Jupiter had just finished another Dead Moon minion. Chibiusa's Crystal Carillon tells them Mamoru is in danger and the group rushes back to Mamoru's Home.

There they see Helios trying to protect Mamoru from Lemures which Super Sailor Moon destroys. Usagi finds Mamoru was hiding a terrible sickness from her. Helios takes a humanoid form and tells them that sickness is from a curse on him from the Dead Moon and about himself and their enemies while asking her to unseal the Golden Crystal. Usagi stays by Mamoru's side despite his reluctance.

Eventually, Mamoru's curse spreads to Usagi. Chibiusa heads to the Circus ahead of her when they realize the Outer Sailor Guardians have returned and are fighting there alongside the Inners. When she eventually arrives, Zirconia uses the curse to attack her and Mamoru but Helios appears and saves them. After a wonderful dream, she awakens in Elysion with Mamoru and Helios. Helios tells them how she and Prince Endymion had protected the Earth in their past lives with the Silver and Golden Crystals but didn't know where the later was as it has been sealed away. They will need it to defeat the Dead Moon. Usagi figures it is in Mamoru like the Silver Crystal was in her and he has been using it to support her all along. The two affirm their shared dream of protecting the Earth. As Queen Nehelenia notices them, they head back to the surface to protect the planet.

The surface has been covered in darkness and Helios has to use the rest of his strength to prevent the Senshi from passing out. Even then, Zirconia catches them all in a nightmare from which Tuxedo Mask frees everyone. Awakened, Usagi's protectors counterattack. Zirconia retreats into a mirror with only Super Sailor Moon able to follow. Inside, she senses planet power from stones and glass with Nehelenia standing in her way. Usagi's attacks phase through Nehelenia but she shatters when Super Sailor Jupiter smashes the mirror from the outside. Super Sailor Saturn takes the stones and they escape from the mirror world along with Super Sailor Chibi Moon. Reunited and noticing darkness continues to envelop the Earth, everyone teleports to Elysion looking for the enemy.

There they find the awakened Maenads and an unresponsive Helios before Queen Nehelenia arrives and taunts them. Super Sailor Moon attacks with Moon Gorgeous Meditation but it is reflected back at the group and traps them in a kelideoscope dimension. They see a vision of the past when Princess Serenity was a newborn where the Inner Senshi meet and swear to protect her, and Nehelenia arrives as an uninvited guest who curses the Princess to die and the Silver Millennium fall after Queen Serenity seals her away.

Usagi kisses Mamoru to take back her Silver Crystal, free them from the kalideoscope world, and starts to create new power which manifests as the Holy Moon Chalice. The cats appear in their human forms and the other Senshi take their Princess forms. The Sailor Power Guardians appear and direct the other Senshi to send power from their castles to the Chalice which upgrades Usagi into Eternal Sailor Moon who asks everyone to offer power to her Eternal Tiare. The other Senshi call upon their Sailor Crystals and take their Eternal forms as Tuxedo Mask's Golden Crystal becomes unsealed. Eternal Sailor Moon uses the gathered strength to perform Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss to obliterate Queen Nehelenia freeing Elysion and the Earth from the Dead Moon's curse.

After Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon revives Helios, he passes Mamoru his staff and he and Usagi take the forms of their future selves. Everyone attends the coronation of the King and Queen. Eternal Sailor Saturn asks Usagi to purify the four stones from earlier and from them the Sailor Quartet emerge before returning to sleep. On the surface, they say goodbye to Helios and Mamoru asks about the feeling he now has in his chest. Usagi tells him it's proof the star in his heart is shining recalling what Queen Serenity once told her.

Stars Arc
Usagi and her friends return to a peaceful life which Setsuna, Michiru, Haruka, and Hotaru are now a part of. In The Secret Hammer Price Hall, Usagi takes Mamoru shopping to prepare for his upcoming trip to America to attend school. She later joins Hotaru and Chibiusa as her main protagonist status is threatened.

A few months later, Usagi is not happy about Mamoru's impending departure. She joins him at the airport to see him off.

Defeated Snow Princess Kaguya in one blow, who noted that the solar system is part of her and shows massive superiority in size and power to the planets[86], harnessing energy for over four and a half billion years[87]). Universe level Environmental Destruction with Magic | Solar System level (After the three Sailor Guardians from the outer planets were no longer with them, a new power welled up inside of them that was unlike any they've had before, making it where Super Sailor Moon was turned into her regular transformation[88]. Sailor Moon is noted to be a girl from the white moon, who are armed with limitless power of their formidable sacred gem[89]), Universe level Environmental Destruction with Magic. Multi-Universe level as Eternal Sailor Moon (Through the combined power of her love for Mamoru, the Golden Crystal within him, all of the Sailor Guardians evolution into Solar System Sailor Princesses, and calling upon all of their home planets powers, Sailor Moon transformed into Eternal Sailor Moon and with a charged attack obliterated Queen Nehellenia and destroyed her mirror world and the Shadow of the New Moon[90][91], with the mirror world being an alternate "dark world"[92][93] that contains stars[94] along with the Shadow of the New Moon being a gaping hole into another dimension[95], meaning she's destroyed two universes) | Multi-Universe level (Her Eternal Sailor Moon form became her regular transformation[96]. Easily obliterated all of the clones of the Sailor Guardians with a single attack[98]). Multiverse level+ with Ultimate Lambda Power (The Ultimate Lambda Power of the cosmos crystal has the power to turn everything into a static universe[99], inherited the power of the galaxy cauldron[100] which fully erased Chaos to the point that their seeds were too small to be found within the Cauldron and that they would need to be reborn again one day to ever come back[101][102], Chaos also merged with the galaxy Cauldron during this[103], the galaxy cauldron is the place of birth and death, once falling into there one dissolves into nothing and is erased in all aspects, temporally, conceptually, etcetera, essentially returning to nothing[104], along with being the object that births the galaxy's stars[105], the enemies birthed from the galaxy cauldron includes the likes of the enemies from the Tau System[106] an alternate dimension in a distant time and space[107][108][109][110], with Usagi restoring everything to a static universe[111], it would include all of the alternate time-spaces the galaxy cauldron creates the various beings and life from, which includes all possibilities[112], of an infinite sized universe[113], along with a static universe being both spatially and temporally infinite[114]) | Multiverse level+ (In her Complete Form she is essentially in a state of being a "perfect" and "complete" being, where she can cast herself into the cauldron's sea of beginnings and embark into a new celestial history[115], where in the sea on views events such as Sailor Moon turning into Sailor Cosmos as "long ago" who is a celestial cosmic being[116][117], that comes from a "future too distant to contemplate"[118] showing that time itself is meaningless within the galaxy cauldron and all other multiversal constants are by extension)

Reaction Speed: Faster Than Light | Unknown: Undefinable (The Sailor Guardians are able to exist and travel in the rift between time, a place that has no concept of distance or direction, where it is referred to as a "timeless rift", lacking temporality entirely[133], where even the likes of Sailor Mercury who can do dimensional calculations on both a temporal and spatial level[134] cannot navigate it) | Unknown: Undefinable, Higher as Super Sailor Moon | Unknown: Undefinable, Higher as Eternal Sailor Moon | Unknown: Undefinable, Higher with Ultimate Lambda Power | Unknown: Undefinable (In her Complete Form she is essentially in a state of being a "perfect" and "complete" being, where she can cast herself into the cauldron's sea of beginnings and embark into a new celestial history[135], where in the sea on views events such as Sailor Moon turning into Sailor Cosmos as "long ago" who is a celestial cosmic being[136][137], that comes from a "future too distant to contemplate"[138] showing that time itself is meaningless within the galaxy cauldron and all other multiversal constants are by extension)

Stamina: Average in her human form (She retains average stamina in her human form, easily getting winded from just running to school[139]), Unknown in her Senshi form, Limitless magical power (When fully awoken its revealed that her magic is the power of the Mystical Silver Crystal[140] and that she is controlling it's power[141], the crystal is noted to be the source of all energy, containing infinite, immeasurable power[142][143][144][145]), Limitless in Complete Form (In her Complete Form she is essentially in a state of being a "perfect" and "complete" being, where she can cast herself into the cauldron's sea of beginnings and embark into a new celestial history[146])

Intelligence: Average Intelligence as Sailor Moon (Started off as an average high-school girl who got bad grades in class[177][178][179][180][181], to a point where Luna is surprised when Usagi displays intelligent thought[182]. She has shown some competence in intelligence, such as learning how to use a computer back when computers were rather new[183])

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics (Contrary to popular belief, the Sailor Guardians do not get stronger from transforming in their initial senshi forms[189], but gain more spiritual energy, essentially meaning they have better stamina to fight), Disguise Mastery (Usagi has a magical pen that allows her to change her outfits to disguise herself, such as being a nurse[190]), Weapon Usage (Her magical pen can be used for things such as turning into an umbrella for her so she has a safe landing[191]), Social Influencing (Noted and acknowledged that Usagi is always surrounded by friends, with it being questioned if it's due to the special sailor crystal of hers that draws them to her or her natural charisma[192][193]), Accelerated Development (Battle; Physical Stats, Abilities, & Skill; Sailor Guardians get stronger through battle, to prepare for the next threat they are destined to face), Aura (All of the Sailor Guardians have an aura that is described by Sailor Moon to shine bright and proud, protected by the stars[194]), Extrasensory Perception (Usagi is able to sense things from the Sailor Guardian that not even Luna can sense[195]), Parallel Existence (Sailor Moon has future versions of her such as Neo Queen Serenity and Sailor Cosmos that will help Sailor Moon by either physically coming to the past or empowering her during her time of need[196][197]), Divine Protection (The Sailor Guardians are beings blessed with celestial protection, and planetary protection, defending the planet from evildoers[198][199][200][201][202][203][204]. When detecting the unusual power emanating from a Sailor Guardian, planetary protection was detected[205]), Reincarnation (Reincarnation Cycle, Atemporal Cycle; Sailor Guardians are within a reincarnation cycle where if they die, they return back to the Galaxy Cauldron and are reborn. The reincarnation cycle is not a linear cycle, as Sailor Pluto died in the future from stopping time[206] and was reborn in the past to help the Sailor Scouts[207][208], along with this their strength greatly increases far beyond what they were beforehand to keep up with the threat[209], Sailor Guardians can also still be reborn even if they're completely erased from existence[210][211]. Sailor Guardians are reliant on their Sailor Crystals, to where even if their physical bodies are destroyed, they can come back from their Sailor Crystals[212][213][214]. Even if Sailor Guardians are fully erased throughout every point temporally and conceptually, the miracles of Sailor Guardians will have them be reborn and become the exact age they need to be on the planet they need to be on[215][216]), Immortality (Reliance [On Concept & On Source]; All of the Sailor Guardians were reborn to protect the princess and rebuild the moon kingdom[217], m/a/g75G7p1 with it being described by Beryl as "the unfathomable current of the universe brought us back to life"[218]), Acausality (Irregular Causality; All of the Sailor Guardians were reborn to protect the princess and rebuild the moon kingdom[219], with it being described by Beryl as "the unfathomable current of the universe brought us back to life"[220]. The reincarnation cycle is not a linear cycle, as Sailor Pluto died in the future from stopping time[221] and was reborn in the past to help the Sailor Scouts[222][223], along with this their strength greatly increases far beyond what they were beforehand to keep up with the threat[224], this would make all Sailor Guardians function under a different system of causality as their reincarnation goes against a standard temporal cycle. Just by existing Sailor Moon throws history off its course[225]), Fate Protection (Sailor Guardians are chosen by fate to be protectors of each of their planets[226]. Sailor Moon is destined to find both the mystical silver crystal and the princess of the moon's royal bloodline and defend them[227][228]. The destiny is not a linear cycle, as Sailor Pluto died in the future from stopping time[229] and was reborn in the past to help the Sailor Scouts[230][231], along with this their strength greatly increases far beyond what they were beforehand to keep up with the threat[232]. Even if Sailor Guardians are fully erased throughout every point temporally and conceptually, the miracles of Sailor Guardians will have them be reborn and become the exact age they need to be on the planet they need to be on[233][234]), Regeneration (At least Mid-Godly; Awakening into and gaining the power of a Sailor Guardian grants one regenerative properties that allow them to regenerate from even their body and spirit being fully erased from existence, along with injuries that are viewed as impossible to save one from unless they can regenerate, such as Sailor Saturn's body being replaced with machine and many of her insides being removed, having her be pushed past the breaking point[235][236][237]), Resurrection (Self-Resurrection;, Atemporal Resurrection; Even if Sailor Guardians are fully erased throughout every point temporally and conceptually, the miracles of Sailor Guardians will have them be reborn and become the exact age they need to be on the planet they need to be on[238][239], this includes atemporal and aspatial realms that lack all concepts of distance and direction[240], where even the likes of Sailor Mercury who can do dimensional calculations on both a temporal and spatial level to create higher dimensional spheres[241] cannot navigate it[242]), Avatar Creation (Sailor Guardians are the avatars of the goddesses of each planet, in Venus' case she's the avatar of the goddess of love and beauty, Venus[243]. With Moon likely being an avatar of the goddess Luna[244]), Time Paradox Immunity (Alternate Timeline; Sailor Moon along with others are able to interact with their future selves for a long while[245] but will eventually after being there for so many hours start causing distortions[246]), Awakening & Statistics Amplification (When a Sailor Guardian awakens and transforms for the first time they are filled with power[247]), Transformation (Transformative Arsenal) & Cloth Manipulation (Through saying the phrase "Moon Prism Power! Make Up!!" Usagi can transform into her Sailor Moon form[248]), Light Manipulation (A Sailor Guardian's transformation creates a very bright flash of light[249]), Energy Manipulation & Explosion Manipulation (The transformation into her Sailor Guardian form creates a massive burst of power[250] that can cause an explosion and propel one upwards[251]), Biological Manipulation (Can use her disguises to change her sex into a male[252]), Has a communicator that allows her to communicate with the other Sailor Girls[253], even when she's in an alternate dimension[254].

Resistance to Mind Manipulation (Unlike her other friends, Usagi was unaffected by the hypnotic effects of the ghost bride[255]. Unaffected by corrupted Tuxedo Mask's powers of suggestion, which fully mind control a person into doing his bidden[256], and could effect the other sailor scouts), Soul Manipulation ( The Hostia of a Sailor[257] Guardian is far beyond that of a regular humans Hostia[258], which it's noted that taking one's hostia is removing one's soul[259][260]), Lifeforce Absorption (Resist the effects of her lifeforce being drained better then most humans, with seeing Tuxedo Mask returning the energy to her body completely[261])

Weapon Mastery (Can use her tiara in combat as a boomerang to cut through her enemies[262]), Empowerment (The Sailor Guardians are empowered by the celestial bodies[263], and the planets they represent, receiving protection and power from them[264]), Flight (Flew back up in the middle of a fight after being saved by Tuxedo Mask[265]. Can fly up into space[266]), Self-Sustenance (Respiratory Self-Sustenance; Sailor Moon and the other scouts are able to breathe on the moon just fine[267]), Magic (It's noted that Sailor Guardians have magical powers[268]), Telepathy (Could hear Naru's cries for help when she was being attacked[269]), Clairvoyance & Extrasensory Perception (With her mask, she is able to see her friends in danger, such as when she transformed for the first time and saw her friend Naru in danger[270]. All previous powers and abilities to a far greater extent, Enhanced Regeneration (True-Godly; Went into the galaxy cauldron and used the powers of the sailor crystals to create a regenerative power that brought back all Sailor Crystals that fell within the galaxy cauldron including herself[408][409], the galaxy cauldron is the place of birth and death, once falling into there one dissolves into nothing and is erased in all aspects, temporally, conceptually, etcetera, essentially returning to nothing[410], erasing even the star seeds, the very reason all living things exist[411][412][413], this includes erasure even on a level where atemporal and aspatial realms that lack all concepts of distance and direction erase a target[414], where even the likes of Sailor Mercury who can do dimensional calculations on both a temporal and spatial level to create higher dimensional spheres[415] cannot navigate it[416]), Conceptual Manipulation, Erasure & Nonexistence Erasure (Space-Time Erasure, Conceptual Erasure, & Existence Erasure; Inherited the power of the galaxy cauldron[417] fully erased Chaos to the point that their seeds were too small to be found within the Cauldron and that they would need to be reborn again one day to ever come back[418][419], Chaos also merged with the galaxy Cauldron during this[420], Chaos is the primordial void that failed to form into a star or planet, being a nonexistent entity[421]. Through her power the cauldron and the galaxy were able to regain their original forms[422], the galaxy cauldron is the place of birth and death, once falling into there one dissolves into nothing and is erased in all aspects, temporally, conceptually, etcetera, essentially returning to nothing[423], erasing even the star seeds, the very reason all living things exist[424][425][426]. Restored back the galaxy cauldron after it's destruction[427][428]), Immortality Negation (Ageless & Reliance [On Source, & On Concept]), Probability Negation, & Fate Negation (Noted to have the power to completely erase the galaxy cauldron, which would stop the cycle of birth and death, and completely negating the will of the galaxy and the destiny of all the sailor guardians[429][430], where all possibilities, stars, and more[431] come to life, along with the cauldron itself being the cycle of life and death[432][433]), Regeneration Negation (Atemporal & Abstract; Fully erased Chaos to the point that their seeds were too small to be found within the Cauldron and that they would need to be reborn again one day to ever come back instead of being able to come back instantly, with Sailor Cosmos noting that she deals battle with Chaos in a far distant future[434][435]), Probability Manipulation, Fate Manipulation, Life Manipulation, Death Manipulation (Conceptual; Inherited the power of the galaxy cauldron[436], where all possibilities, stars, and more[437] come to life, along with the cauldron itself being the cycle of life and death[438][439]), Existence Grounding (Inherited the power of the galaxy cauldron[440], which can make abstract, nonexistent beings like Chaos be reborn[441][442], into a physical form where they are no longer abstract[443][444]), Severing (Tore Chaos apart from the galaxy cauldron after it merged with it).

Resistance to Erasure & Nonexistence Erasure (Space-Time Erasure, Conceptual Erasure, & Existence Erasure; After regenerating, was able to sustain herself within the galaxy cauldron just fine with no issues[445][446], the galaxy cauldron is the place of birth and death, once falling into there one dissolves into nothing and is erased in all aspects, temporally, conceptually, etcetera, essentially returning to nothing[447], erasing even the star seeds, the very reason all living things exist[448][449][450]), Regeneration Negation (Atemporal & Abstract; Was able to still regenerate within the galaxy cauldron, which erased Chaos to a point that the seeds were too small to be found within the Cauldron and that they would need to be reborn again one day to ever come back instead of being able to come back instantly[451][452], this includes erasure even on a level where atemporal and aspatial realms that lack all concepts of distance and direction erase a target[453], where even the likes of Sailor Mercury who can do dimensional calculations on both a temporal and spatial level to create higher dimensional spheres[454] cannot navigate it[455]), Probability Manipulation, Fate Manipulation, Life Manipulation, Death Manipulation (Conceptual; After regenerating, was able to sustain herself within the galaxy cauldron just fine with no issues[456][457], the galaxy cauldron is the place of birth and death, once falling into there one dissolves into nothing and is erased in all aspects, temporally, conceptually, etcetera, essentially returning to nothing[458], where all possibilities, stars, and more[459] come to life, along with the cauldron itself being the cycle of life and death[460][461])

All previous powers and abilities to a far greater extent, Transcendence (Complete Transcendence; In her Complete Form she is essentially in a state of being a "perfect" and "complete" being, where she can cast herself into the cauldron's sea of beginnings and embark into a new celestial history[462], where in the sea on views events such as Sailor Moon turning into Sailor Cosmos as "long ago" who is a celestial cosmic being[463][464], that comes from a "future too distant to contemplate"[465] showing that time itself is meaningless within the galaxy cauldron and all other multiversal constants are by extension)

Equipment

  • Transformation Brooch: The "Transformation Brooch" is the very 1st magical item that Usagi Tsukino used to transform into her standard Sailor form as Sailor Moon. Its transformation phrase is Moon Prism Power, Make Up. It was given to Usagi by Luna in Act 1 of the manga and crystal. Luna tricked her in into transforming into Sailor Moon to prove to Usagi that she had a destiny as a Sailor Guardian. Once she obtained it, Usagi began wearing the brooch in the center of the bow on the front of her school uniform when she was in civilian form. The brooch was broken in Act 14 of the manga.
  • Silver Crystal: The "Silver Crystal" is an object of immense power. The Silver Crystal possesses tremendous power and is possibly one of the single most powerful magical artifacts in the entire galaxy. The Crystal can perform spectacular feats, such as reviving an entire world and all of its inhabitants from death and ruin. Unfortunately, the strain of using the Crystal's power in such a way often causes the user to lose their life, as that power actually derives from the life force of the user. However, it has been shown that if several other individuals add their own inner power to the wielder's efforts, they will be spared this fate, but left in a weakened state afterward. Only a member of the Moon Kingdom dynasty can actually use the Silver Crystal, and it was shown as the source of Queen Serenity's power during the Silver Millennium; Serenity's daughter Sailor Moon and granddaughter Chibiusa each go on to inherit the Crystal in their own right. When in use, the Crystal's dazzlingly bright and supremely powerful light is often white but can appear in shades of pink, fuchsia, or magenta. Originally, the Silver Crystal belonged to Queen Serenity of the Moon Kingdom; while the Crystal protected the Moon and the Earth, it also allowed the people of the Moon Kingdom to enjoy long lives. When the Moon Kingdom was destroyed by Queen Beryl (who was under the influence of Queen Metalia), Queen's Serenity's daughter, Princess Serenity, was killed, along with her guardians the Sailor Guardians and her beloved, Prince Endymion of Earth. Queen Serenity used the Silver Crystal to defeat and seal away the enemy, as well as to send her daughter, the prince, and all of the Sailor Senshi to be reborn in the future on Earth, so they could hopefully live happy, peaceful lives. Having used too much of the Crystal's power as well as her own, the Queen died after performing this final act. Despite the Crystal's undeniable power, however, several magical artifacts seem to rival it in strength, including the Malefic Black Crystal in the second season, and Gold Crystal from 4 season. Sailor Galaxia's own Star Seed from the Sailor Stars season powerer than Silver Crystal. As for its apparent power, it has been described by many villains to have infinite power and allow total control of the planet, with an inexhaustible reserve of energy. It was apparently so powerful that Chaos wanted to use it to create an entire planet, allowing him to be a Sailor Senshi of his own. The Silver Crystal was the object of desire of the Dark Kingdom and Tuxedo Mask; the former wanted it for power, the latter to restore his memories. It first appears in Act 9, when Tuxedo Mask protected Sailor Moon from Kunzite; her grief caused her to remember that she was Princess Serenity, and he remembered he was Prince Endymion. When Tuxedo Mask then died in her arms, the pain was too much, especially when she recalled their former lives; a tear fell from her cheek and glowed immensely bright, forming the Silver Crystal. Its light healed all of those it touched, and a part of it went inside of Tuxedo Mask's body, which was then stolen by Kunzite. Usagi kept the Silver Crystal on a necklace around her neck for a while before it was stored inside her second transformation compact, the Crystal Star. The crystal is usually used to defeat the final villain of each story arc. It had two primary powers; the ability to generate a powerful, magical attack, and the power to rejuvenate. Additionally, it seems that the Silver Crystal has both more control and focused power when attached to the Moon Stick, though, eventually, Usagi becomes so in-tune with its power, she no longer needs the Moon Stick. It was revealed that it served as Eternal Sailor Moon's own Sailor Crystal, evolving into what is known as the Silver Moon Crystal. In Act 10, when they visit the ruined Moon Castle, Queen Serenity told Sailor Moon that the Silver Crystal's true power and full abilities depended on her good heart. Later after defeating Queen Beryl in Volume 3, Sailor Venus reads from the sword that the true power of the Silver Crystal was off from Usagi's own heart and the true power of the Moon itself.
  • Disguise Pen: The "Disguise Pen" is a pen that was given to Usagi by Luna, so she could disguise herself in order to complete a mission more easily. While she looks like the person she wants to be, she also apparently gains the knowledge of whoever she changes into. This was used many times during the first arc of the manga. The is a bright bubblegum pink pen with a golden ring around its middle. On the top, it has a golden base with a golden piece that resembles a crown with small red gems around it, and a large red gem in the middle. In the manga and the reboot, it is different from the style in the anime, having a cylinder form and being slightly thinner.

  • Communicator: The "Communicators" were special devices used by the Sailor Guardians to keep in touch with each other. There were three different versions in the manga. In the manga, the Guardians wear wristwatch-type communication devices that allow them to speak with each other. Two sets appeared throughout the series. The first set appeared in Act 3, and came directly from the Sailor V game. The second set was given to them after Chibiusa's appearance.
  • Crystal Star: The "Crystal Star" is the 2nd magical item that Usagi Tsukino uses to transform into Sailor Moon and holds her Silver Crystal. It is primarily used in the Moon Crystal Power, Make Up transformation during the Black Moon arc of the manga. In Act 14, Queen Serenity gifts the Crystal Star to Usagi in the Chamber of Prayer after Usagi arrives at the Moon Castle. Her previous Transformation Brooch shattered after the defeat of Queen Metalia. Usagi only had to place the Silver Crystal inside the brooch to use it. It is destroyed in the final battle against Death Phantom and is replaced by the Cosmic Heart Compact gifted to Usagi from Neo-Queen Serenity. The gems on the compact represent the four Inner Sailor Senshi. The moon in the middle represents Sailor Moon. From the top clockwise, Sailor Mars, Sailor Venus, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Jupiter.

  • Tiara: "Tiaras" are part of any Sailor Guardian uniform, except Sailor Cosmos, Sailor Galaxia, and Eternal Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon's tiara served as her first weapon. In the manga and Crystal, Sailor Moon used her tiara for two main attacks; Moon Frisbee/Moon Tiara Boomerang and Moon Twilight Flash. The latter was one of Sailor Moon's manga only attacks and was first used in Act 04. A bright light flashes from the gem on her tiara. She received upgrades to her tiara during the Dark Kingdom arc of the manga and Crystal, but in every other manga and Crystal arc, it stayed the same. Sailor Moon's first tiara was given to her when she first transformed into her regular Sailor form as Sailor Moon. When looking at the tiara from a distance it appears to have a rather simple smooth golden design with a circular red gem at its center. On closer inspection, though one can see that it has subtle details engraved in its surface and the gem itself is encased in a golden frame. When removed from Sailor Moon's forehead and activated for her Moon Frisbee attack (later renamed to Moon Tiara Boomerang for the manga re-release) the tiara morphs into a flat circular shape with the gem placed on top. An interesting subtle feature in this form is the small chain with a small crescent moon shape attached to one side. This appears to serve no function though is a nice unappreciated detail. The tiara was destroyed during the battle with Jadeite in Act 3 of the manga when Sailor Moon threw the tiara at him and Luna simultaneously pushed a key on Mercury's computer causing it to wrap around him. Sailor Mars then attacked Jadeite with her Akuryo Taisan, destroying both him and the tiara. The colors of the gem on the tiaras are based on the Sailor Senshi's signature color, except for Sailor Saturn whose tiara gem was white in the manga. When the nine Super Sailor Senshi evolved into their Eternal Sailor forms, the gems in their tiaras became stars, except for Eternal Sailor Moon who had no tiara at all, but a crescent moon. Sailor Moon and Sailor Jupiter were the only Guardians whose tiaras could be used in attacks.
  • Mask: The "Moon Mask" is the mask that Sailor Moon wore in the early chapters of the manga. She first wore this mask when she transformed in Act 1 Usagi - Sailor Moon. She used them once in the first act to see Naru in danger[466]. After which, whenever she transforms, she tosses off the mask before fighting, until Act 8 where the mask (aside from one minor use in Act 15) no longer appears for the rest of the series. The mask looked like Sailor V's mask but they were white instead of red.
  • Red Hair Pieces: The "Red Hair Pieces" appears in Sailor Moon's hair when she transforms, decorating her odango. Sailor Chibi Moon also has a pair of red hairpieces that are also able to perform the supersonic wave attack. Other than creating Supersonic waves, the pieces allowed Sailor Moon to hear that Naru Osaka was in danger from a distance and when she cried they released supersonic waves in the manga, anime, and in video games. However, the ability to hear people from a distance appeared only once, Act 1 of the manga and episode 1 of the anime, and it was never used or referenced again in both continuations. Sailor Moon’s red hairpieces were red round pieces on her odangos/buns with a white outline. In PGSM, the outline was gold in her standard form and becomes adorned with pearls in her form as Princess Sailor Moon. Sailor Chibi Moon’s red hairpieces were like Sailor Moon’s but smaller and had two extra pieces on the top that may represent bunny ears.
  • Wing Hair Clips: The "Wing Hair Clips" were hairpieces that Sailor Moon wore in all of the continuations of the series. The clips were white and had three feathers on each clip. She would sometimes throw these clips at enemies and at any flying objects heading towards her. Just like the Red Hair Pieces, Sailor Chibi Moon also has identical Wing Hair Clips.
  • Moon Stick: The "Moon Stick" is one of the first weapons used by Sailor Moon. She primarily uses it to perform the Moon Healing Escalation. The Moon Stick becomes more powerful after the Silver Crystal is attached to it. The previous owner of the Moon Stick was Queen Serenity. The Moon Stick appears in the manga. In the manga, the Moon Stick was similar in appearance to the one in the anime but the crescent moon was light blue instead of gold. When the Silver Crystal appeared, it could be used in conjunction with the Moon Stick. In the final battle with Queen Metalia, the Moon Stick became a long staff. After Usagi got her new brooch, she used the Moon Stick to destroy Queen Metalia and revive the people of the Earth. The Moon Stick vanished and was never seen or mentioned again.
  • Cutie Moon Rod: The "Cutie Moon Rod" or just "Moon Rod" is the weapon used by Sailor Moon to perform Moon Princess Halation. Others use it as well and it appears in the manga. It was created by the love between Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask after he protected her from her reflected Moon Tiara Boomerang. Sailor Moon uses Moon Princess Halation to kill Koan and continues to use it until the final battle of the Black Moon arc. Luna calls it "Queen Serenity's Scepter" and she wielded it during the Silver Millennium. Neo-Queen Serenity gave her Cutie Moon Rod to Sailor Chibi Moon during the final battle with Death Phantom, so that she could join and fight alongside Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask near Nemesis. The two scepters combined powers and easily obliterated Death Phantom with a stronger Moon Princess Halation but the two scepters shattered in the process.

  • Cosmic Heart Compact: The Cosmic Heart Compact is the 3rd transformation brooch given to Usagi Tsukino to transform into Sailor Moon. It was given to her in Act 26 along with the Spiral Heart Moon Rod. To transform, she shouts "Moon Cosmic Power, Make Up!". The newly awakened Neo-Queen Serenity grants Sailor Moon this new brooch, when the previous one was destroyed fighting Death Phantom, to allow Usagi to become Sailor Moon. In Act 27, Usagi use it for the first time to battle a new enemy that has appeared. In some instances, the compact protected Usagi in certain instances, protected her from Cyprine's mind control, and it also created a floating barrier when attacks by the newly awakened Mistress 9.

  • Holy Grail: The "Holy Grail" is an object of great power used by Super Sailor Moon. Resembling an elaborate cup or goblet, it appears in the manga. By calling out Crisis Make-up! (Super Moon Crisis Power and Moon Crisis Power in the Cloverway English dub), the Grail enables her to temporarily transform into Super Sailor Moon, a much stronger and more powerful evolution of her third regular Sailor form. The Grail also greatly increases the powers of the Spiral Heart Moon Rod, allowing it to perform the attack Rainbow Moon Heartache. When Chibiusa was talking about what to make for her art class, she mentioned a weapon that her mother once had that gave her power; a picture of it was in Neo Queen Serenity's room in the future. When Cyprine and Ptilol attacked the Senshi, they used their powers to manipulate the Senshi's suspicion of one another to attack each other. Sailor Moon merged her powers with Sailor Chibi Moon and Tuxedo Mask and the grail was formed, breaking the mind control. The four Inner Senshi then poured their planet powers into the Grail, and the Outer Sailor Guardians poured the power of their talismans into it. Sailor Moon drank from the grail and evolved into Super Sailor Moon and used her much stronger Rainbow Moon Heartache attack, destroying Cyprine and Ptilol. She would use the grail again to fight Germatoid, and then against Mistress 9 and Pharaoh 90, with Sailor Chibi Moon gaining a grail of her own and transforming into Super Sailor Chibi Moon. After the Outer Sailor Senshi left following the defeat of Pharaoh 90, the Holy Grails lost their divine powers and vanished, due to the Outer Sailor Senshi being unable to contribute their planetary powers for the Super transformation.
  • Crisis Moon Compact: The "Crisis Moon Compact" is a brooch given to Usagi Tsukino by Pegasus when she upgraded her Cosmic Heart Compact in Act 39. Along with Chibiusa, using her Chibi Moon Compact, Usagi transforms into Super Sailor Moon using the phrase Moon Crisis, Make Up.

  • Spiral Heart Moon Rod: The "Spiral Heart Moon Rod" is the 3rd mystical weapon Usagi obtains and primarily uses it to perform Moon Spiral Heart Attack as Sailor Moon and Rainbow Moon Heartache as Super Sailor Moon. It is her main weapon in the Infinity arc of the manga. It has the same overall appearances in all versions Sailor Moon with some minor differences in the details. It is a rod with a pink shaft and a rounded golden tip at the bottom. Near the top are two stars. Above them is a golden bow with four flaps and a large, golden outlined, red heart on the top. Inside the heart is an oval shaped gemstone outlined in gold and four small round stones. The heart wears a golden crown. The Spiral Heart Moon Rod is the sceptre of Neo-Queen Serenity. She is seen using it to restore Crystal Tokyo from the damage caused by the Black Crystal after Usagi, Chibiusa, and Mamoru finish Death Phantom. In that encounter, Usagi's Cutie Moon Rod shattered so Neo-Queen Serenity has Chibiusa deliver the Spiral Heart Moon Rod to her as a replacement and gift. Usagi wonders when she will have to use it. Throughout the Infinity arc, she uses it to destroy Daimons and fight the Death Busters with Rainbow Moon Heartache. When she obtains the Holy Grail and her Super form she uses it to perform Rainbow Moon Heartache. Against Mistress 9, she attacks with Super Sailor Chibi Moon to perform Rainbow Double Moon Heartache. After the defeat of Pharaoh 90, Usagi takes her Neo-Queen Serneity form for the first time and uses the Spiral Heart Moon Rod to heal the Earth from the devastation Pharaoh 90 had wrought. In the manga side story, The Lover of Princess Kaguya, Usagi uses it against the Snow Dancers and Princess Snow Kaguya.
  • Moon Kaleido Scope: The "Moon Kaleido Scope" and "Chibi Moon Kaleido Scope" are weapons given to Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon by Helios in the Dream arc of the manga. It is used to perform Moon Gorgeous Meditation. Chibiusa's version is a little smaller than Usagi's. Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon would use these to perform Moon Gorgeous Meditation against the members of the Dead Moon Circus. On April 1st, Mamoru purchased a pair of normal kaleidoscopes for Usagi and Chibiusa after they begged for them and they enjoyed looking through them. The next day, they found themselves under attack by Lemures without weapons and Helios asked Chibiusa to summon him with Twinkle Yell. He used his power to awaken their kaledioscopes into weapons. The kaledioscopes had souls of their own and wanted to help the girls who adored them and the weapons introduced themselves and told them to use Moon Gorgeous Meditation to attack. This was the only time they spoke in the manga and they did not speak at all in Sailor Moon Eternal with Helios speaking instead. Once they became weapons, they continued to look like glass kaleidoscopes but with new tops and intricate handles with wings on them. It was the only weapon in the series whose material was known.

  • Holy Moon Chalice: The "Holy Moon Chalice" is an item under Eternal Sailor Moon's possession that appeared in the manga and the anime (specifically Sailor Moon Sailor Stars). Both continuations gave the item different origins and functions. The Holy Grail was upgraded to the Holy Moon Chalice during the Dream arc, and it allowed Usagi Tsukino to transform into Eternal Sailor Moon.
  • Eternal Moon Article: The "Eternal Moon Article" is the brooch Usagi Tsukino uses as Eternal Sailor Moon. It is her final brooch which holds her Silver Crystal and gains wings when she transforms much like Eternal Sailor Moon herself does. It is seen in the manga, 90s anime, crystal, and many Sera Myu. The compact is a large pink heart with upwards pointed yellow crescent moon on its bottom point. On each side of the heart are three small white wings which connect to the heart through a pearl which appear like two wings on each side, much like Sailor Moon's hair clips. When transformed, large wings appear from behind the brooch much like Eternal Sailor Moon's own wings.

  • Eternal Tiare: The "Eternal Tiare" is the weapon Eternal Sailor Moon wields in her Eternal form in the manga. It is used to perform Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss and many other attacks in the franchise. Tiare is an older French word for a type of adornment worn on the head. It can be translated to English as tiara. The Eternal Tiare is Sailor Moon's strongest weapon and is a staff which appeared when Usagi gained the power to transform into her Eternal form. She wields it in that form and also when in her approaching Neo-Queen Serenity form at the end of the Dream arc when she uses it and her Silver Crystal to purify the Sailor Quartet. In the Stars arc, it is broken by Galactica Planet Attack when Sailor Moon fought the Sailor Senshi under Sailor Galaxia's control in act 58, but she recreated it shortly afterward while using Silver Moon Crystal Power Therapy Kiss. During the final "Chibiusa's Picture Diary", Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon has her own Eternal Tiare when performing Starlight Honeymoon Double Therapy Kiss with Usagi. Hers is a little smaller than Usagi's like her Chibi Moon Kaleido Scope. This is the only appearance of this weapon of Chibiusa's in the manga and this is the only time Sailor Chibi Moon is shown wielding a weapon of any kind in her Eternal form. In the manga, the Silver Crystal was attached to it.

Optional Equipment

  • Sword of the Silver Crystal: The "Sword of the Silver Crystal" (also called "The Holy Sword") is a magical sword found by the Sailor Guardians on the moon in Act 10. It was stuck into the ground and Sailor Venus was the only one who could free it. It is from the Silver Millennium and its purpose was to protect Princess Serenity. After Prince Endymion was killed by Queen Beryl, Princess Serenity committed suicide by stabbing herself with the sword out of grief. To avenge their deaths, Sailor Venus took the sword and killed Queen Beryl. In Act 12, Sailor Venus kills Queen Beryl with the sword once again. After this, strange writing appeared on the sword which only Sailor Venus could read. This happened to be the method to seal away Queen Metalia. However, out of confusion, Sailor Moon killed Tuxedo Mask (whose body was taken over by Queen Metalia) and then killed herself. However, this didn't kill them and only freed Queen Metalia from Tuxedo Mask's body. In Act 13, in an attempt to seal away Queen Metalia and to try to find Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask afterward, the rest of the Sailor Guardians threw away their transformation pens and Sailor Venus called upon the sword once again to give her and the rest of the Sailor Senshi more power. Unfortunately, this plan failed and left them powerless. This was also the last time that the sword is seen in the manga.
  • Space-Time Key: The "Space-Time Key" is a magical item from the Sailor Guardian of Space-Time, Sailor Pluto, that was carried and used by Chibiusa Tsukino after the latter had taken one from Sailor Pluto's chain to travel back in time. The key allowed Chibiusa to travel through various timelines, and call on Sailor Pluto as well. The incantation goes "O Guardian of Time, tear apart the heavens and open wide for me the door of space and time! I summon thee by thy true name, the almighty god of time father of the guardian, Chronos! Guide us on our journey protect these travellers grant us the path of light! (時の衛人よ! 時空の扉, 天空を裂き, 我に開け放て! 我は汝の真の名を呼ぶ全能なる時の神, 衛人の父, クロノスよ! 我を導きたまえ! 我を守りたまえ! 光の道を我に!)". In the Dream arc of the manga, the Space-Time Key was once blocked by PallaPalla's seal around the Dead Moon Circus. In both the manga and Crystal, four space-time keys are worn on a silver chain around the waist of Sailor Pluto's black miniskirt.

Helpers

  • Luna: Luna is Usagi's black guardian cat, as well as her and the other Sailor Guardians' adviser. She lives with Usagi and she is shown growing close to Artemis, another feline guardian who belongs to Sailor Venus. In the manga, Sailor Tin Nyanko says that Luna, Artemis and Diana are creatures of the planet Mau. The Sailor Moon "Materials Collection" states as a human, her age is "about one year below Usagi's" (as of Usagi's age when Luna first appears in her human form).
  • Artemis: Artemis is Minako Aino's white guardian cat, as well as her adviser in Codename: Sailor V and the Sailor Moon manga. He was the one who awoke Minako as Sailor V and has continued to watch over her ever since. During the Silver Millennium, Artemis was a resident of the planet Mau and eventually came to live at the Moon Castle. There, he came to meet Sailor Venus among others and developed a crush on fellow cat Luna. After the fall of the Moon Kingdom, Queen Serenity put him and Luna to sleep in capsules and eventually he awoke in present day Tokyo before his fellow cat. He worked with Boss to find and evaluate the reincarnation of Sailor Venus while seeking information on their enemy.

Notable Techniques

  • Sailor V Kick: Before getting any of her powers, she used an attack imitating Sailor V from the video game where she attempted to kick at the door for her brother locking her out, though it ended up hurting her knee instead and she later used a variation of this attack named the "Sailor Moon Kick".
  • Moon Power, change me into a...!: "Moon Power, change me into a..."' is a transformation phrase used by Usagi Tsukino with the Disguise Pen to conceal herself. Usagi uses this phrase to transform with her Disguise Pen multiple times and takes many different disguises with it. It is first used in Act 2 when Usagi pretends to be a Doctor to break into the Crystal Seminar.
  • Moon Crystal Power, Make Up: "Moon Crystal Power, Make Up" is the 2nd command that Usagi Tsukino uses to transform into Sailor Moon in the manga. In the manga, the transformation is instant. All Usagi has to do is to raise her arms and say the phrase, and the next moment, she has transformed into Sailor Moon.
  • Moon Tiara Boomerang/Moon Frisbee: "Moon Frisbee" is a boomerang-based attack in the manga. It is Sailor Moon's first attack in the Manga. To perform this attack, Sailor Moon would remove her tiara, whereupon it became a frisbee-like disc that she would throw at an enemy. In the manga, Sailor Moon removes the tiara as if by magic and morphs it into a round frisbee shape and throws it at her opponent while yelling "Moon Tiara Frisbee!". It is interesting to note that in the manga's frisbee form, the gem on the tiara becomes more sharp, like a diamond and sits on top of the tiara. She tried to use her attack on Koan, but the enemy was able to use her firepower to deflect it. It was very similar to her anime attack Moon Tiara Action. However, unlike the anime version of the attack, in the manga, the disc did not glow when it was thrown. In the "New Cover" reprints of 2003-2004, the attack was renamed Moon Tiara Boomerang to match its name in the live-action version of the attack where the tiara transformed into a boomerang; as the Kodansha manga used the reprint as its basis it also used this name.
  • Supersonic Waves: "Supersonic Waves" is a vibration-based attack used only when Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon had no other way to protect themselves. To perform this attack, they panic and start crying. This causes their Odango Covers (Red Hair Pieces) to light up and amplify their wailing until it becomes physically painful for their enemies. It is first used when Sailor Moon faces Morga in her first battle. She uses it at the same point in select Sera Myu as well. Sailor Moon starts crying in the first chapter when attacked by Morga and her minions. Sailor Chibi Moon uses it when Resin brandishes dental tools whose sounds agitate her cavities making her cry in pain in Chibiusa's Picture Diary Chapter 3 - Beware of Cavities. The ultra-sonic attack smashes glass and hurts Resin but the brainwashed dentist stops her crying by throwing a cake in her face.
  • Sailor Moon Kick: "Sailor Moon Kick" is a physical attack used by Sailor Moon. She kicks her enemy with an attack based on Sailor V's Sailor V Kick in the manga. Sailor Moon first uses it in act 2 against the Youma Garoben at the Crystal Seminar with some help from Tuxedo Mask. In Chibiusa's Picture Diary Chapter 1, she performs a double kick attack with Sailor V: Double Sailor Kick.
  • Moon Twilight Flash: "Moon Twilight Flash" is a moonlight-based attack used by Sailor Moon in the manga. To perform this attack, Sailor Moon uses the red gem on her tiara to reflect the natural white moonlight into a beam of light which is fired at the enemy. This attack was first used in Act 4 when Sailor Moon received a new tiara (in place of the one which had burned up while attacking Jadeite) and used its powers to destroy Nephrite's shadow.
  • Moon Healing Escalation: "Moon Healing Escalation" is a healing attack that Sailor Moon uses to heal people who have been affected by the Dark Kingdom's power. Sailor Moon uses Moon Healing Escalation with her Moon Stick to heal the citizens of Tokyo after attacks from the Dark Kingdom. She does this a few times including to help those Zoisite brainwashed into searching for the Silver Crystal and after Queen Metalia is defeated to heal everyone on Earth including to revive her fallen friends.
  • Moon Princess Halation: Moon Princess Halation is a moonlight-based attack used by Sailor Moon in the manga. To perform the attack, Sailor Moon uses the Cutie Moon Rod, generating several powerful moonlight-based blasts that are projected in different directions. In the manga, Moon Princess Halation was first used by Sailor Moon in Act 15 to destroy Koan after Moon Tiara Boomerang failed. She would use the attack multiple times throughout the Black Moon arc. Later towards the end of the arc in Act 26, Neo-Queen Serenity gave Sailor Chibi Moon her rod to fight along with Sailor Moon against the Death Phantom. They performed a stronger version of Moon Princess Halation together which successfully destroyed him but shattered their Moon Rods in the process. The attack is used by the Moon Princesses while in their Sailor forms. The word "halation" refers to light spreading to surround something as if making a halo about it. The word was first used by early photographers to refer to light blurring and bleeding into shadows in an image.
  • Double Sailor Kick: Double Sailor Kick is a physical attack used in the first Chibiusa's Picture Diary short story (takes place during Act 15). It is a tandem attack between Sailor V and Sailor Moon. It is very similar to Sailor Moon Kick and Sailor V Kick but performed at the same time. They use it to save Chibiusa from a vampire, Lyrica's mother. This short story takes place near the beginning of the Black Moon arc, long before Chibiusa can transform herself but she follows up their attack with Garlic Attack.
  • Sailor Teleport: "Sailor Teleport" is a group ability used by Sailor Guardians as they stand with their hands joined. This command allows the group to transport instantly to their desired destination, whether it be on the Earth's surface, core, or tens of thousands of light-years away in Outer Space or into an alternate dimension entirely. The ability is used many times and the command is often not. Each one of the Sailor Guardians is capable of teleportation over long distances in a flash of light (according to their signature color). They can hover/levitate off the ground.
  • Banishment: The ability derived from the Mystical Silver Crystal that is used to seal a person away and banish them from existence itself in the process. Queen Serenity initially used this to seal away Queen Metalia but the seal failed due to her being mentally weakened by the death of her daughter. They performed a stronger version of Moon Princess Halation together which successfully destroyed him but shattered their Moon Rods in the process. They use it to save Chibiusa from a vampire, Lyrica's mother. This short story takes place near the beginning of the Black Moon arc, long before Chibiusa can transform herself but she follows up their attack with Garlic Attack.
  • Moon Spiral Heart Attack: "Moon Spiral Heart Attack" is a heart/moon-based attack that Sailor Moon used to destroy monsters in the third arc in the manga. To perform this attack, Sailor Moon would raise the legendary Spiral Heart Moon Rod to then flip it around her body until finally striking on a pose. After this, she would then spin around and once again hold the rod up again, sending a powerful blast of heart to her enemies. The last animation is a giant Heart smashing through the Daimon, which caused her to scream "Lovely". • Moon Crisis, Make Up:' "Moon Crisis, Make Up" is the command used by Usagi and Chibiusa to transform into Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon, respectively. In Act 46, Usagi and Chibiusa held hands and raised them up in the air while saying “Moon Crisis! Make Up!” and instantly transformed into Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon, respectively.
In the manga, Sailor Moon first used this attack in Act 28 Infinity 2 Ripples to destroy the Daimon.
  • Rainbow Moon Heartache: "Rainbow Moon Heartache" is a heart/rainbow-moonlight-based attack that Super Sailor Moon used to destroy monsters (mainly Daimons). She also defeated Viluy by damaging her bracelet, the nanocuff, with this attack, which caused it to turn on her and destroy her. Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon performed a more powerful version of this attack called Rainbow Double Moon Heartache using the combined powers of the Spiral Heart Moon Rod and the Pink Moon Rod, making it tens of times more effective.
  • Rainbow Double Moon Heartache: "Rainbow Double Moon Heartache" is a combination attack performed by Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon using their Spiral Heart Moon Rod and the Pink Moon Rod respectively. It is an upgraded version of Rainbow Moon Heartache which appeared in the manga. The attack is used with Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon combining their power to attack Mistress 9. They start the attack by crossing their rods. In crystal, they create a large ball of pink energy that when was unleashed, appearing as a series of energy ribbons with hearts along with them. After it is fired, it appears it does in the manga where it is a beam of energy hitting Mistress 9. It fails to damage her and makes her grow instead. Eventually, Sailor Chibi Moon runs out of power and falls from the sky to be caught by Tuxedo Mask.
  • Moon Gorgeous Meditation: "Moon Gorgeous Meditation" is a moonlight/mirror-based attack that Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon use to destroy enemies in the Dream arc of the manga. This attack is performed with the Moon Kaleido Scope in order to shoot a powerful rainbow blast along with shattered glass-shaped energy bursts. Enemies affected by this attack are shown in a flashing background, similar to that of a mirror. In the premiere act of the Dream arc, Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon obtain mystical sceptres - Moon Kaleido Scopes - through Helios' help which they use to fight the Dead Moon Circus. They perform the attack together as well as individually throughout the arc. Its last use is when Queen Nehelenia reflects it back upon Super Sailor Moon and her allies.

Transformations: Through calling to the power of the moon and one of her items, she has phrases that do the following:

  • Moon Crisis, Make Up:' "Moon Crisis, Make Up" is the command used by Usagi and Chibiusa to transform into Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon, respectively. • Moon Eternal, Make Up: "Moon Eternal, Make Up" is the final transformation phrase Usagi Tsukino uses in order to transform into her Sailor Guardian form Eternal Sailor Moon with her Eternal Moon Article. In newer editions of the manga, Usagi uses her Eternal Moon Article and Holy Moon Chalice to take her Eternal form with both "Moon Eternal, Make Up" and Silver Moon Crystal Power, Make Up. The later is used more often so further discussion of her transformation is located on its page.
  • Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss: "Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss" is an powerful moonlight-based attack performed by Eternal Sailor Moon in the manga with her Eternal Tiare. It is first used after Usagi becomes Eternal Sailor Moon with the power her friends directed to the Holy Moon Chalice. Usagi asks her friends to gather their power into her Eternal Tiare. The Sailor Princesses call upon their Sailor Crystals, which lets them take their own Eternal forms, along with Tuxedo Mask who unseals his Golden Crystal and offers its power. Eternal Sailor Moon uses the gathered power of her friends to perform Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss to obliterate Queen Nehalennia and end the curse of the Dead Moon. In The Secret Hammer Price Hall, Eternal Sailor Moon and Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon perform a duo version of the attack called Starlight Honeymoon Double Therapy Kiss to save Hotaru. Throughout the Stars arc, Eternal Sailor Moon uses the attack against Shadow Galactica. Its final use is in Galactica Palace against Eternal Sailor Venus who blocks the attack and mocks Usagi for the apparent weakness of her Silver Crystal and counters with Galactica Planet Attack.
  • Starlight Honeymoon Double Therapy Kiss: "Starlight Honeymoon Double Therapy Kiss" is a moonlight-based duo-attack performed by Eternal Sailor Moon and Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon in the manga. It is a more powerful version of Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss. In The Secret Hammer Price Hall (Takes place before the Stars Arc but after the Dream Arc), Eternal Sailor Moon and Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon team up to use this attack to exercise the spirit Otakura from Hotaru. Hotaru doesn't feel any ill effects from the attack aside from not remembering anything from the time she was possessed. The attack is performed with the Eternal Tiare. During this attack, Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon has her own Eternal Tiare which is a little smaller than Usagi's similar to her Chibi Moon Kaleido Scope. This is the only appearance of this weapon of Chibiusa's in the manga and this is the only time Sailor Chibi Moon is shown wielding a weapon of any kind in her Eternal form.

Transformations: Through calling to the power of the moon and one of her items, she has phrases that do the following:

  • Moon Eternal, Make Up: "Moon Eternal, Make Up" is the final transformation phrase Usagi Tsukino uses in order to transform into her Sailor Guardian form Eternal Sailor Moon with her Eternal Moon Article. In newer editions of the manga, Usagi uses her Eternal Moon Article and Holy Moon Chalice to take her Eternal form with both "Moon Eternal, Make Up" and Silver Moon Crystal Power, Make Up. The later is used more often so further discussion of her transformation is located on its page.
  • Silver Moon Crystal Power, Make Up: "Silver Moon Crystal Power, Make Up" is the command that Usagi Tsukino uses with the Silver Crystal within her Eternal Moon Article to transform into her Sailor Guardian form: Eternal Sailor Moon. Usagi first uses this phrase to transform into her Eternal form in the Stars arc short story The Secret Hammer Price Hall. She transforms alongside Chibiusa, who uses Pink Moon Crystal Power, Make Up, to save Hotaru from Otakura but they are out-staged by Ruruna Kobe and Naruru Osaka. In the main Stars arc, Usagi transforms into Eternal Sailor Moon using a phrase in acts 50, 51, and 54; however, the phrase she uses is different in the first few releases of the manga. Starting with the 2nd Edition and continued in the later editions including the 3rd and 4th, Usagi uses Moon Eternal, Make Up in act 50 and "Silver Moon Crystal Power, Make Up!" in acts 51 and 54. In the 1st edition, she uses Silver Moon in all three instances. In the original Nakayoshi magazine release, she uses "Moon Eternal Power, Make Up" first, and Moon Eternal, Make Up in the other two instances. When she transforms in act 50, she calls upon her Holy Moon Chalice to transform and in act 51 it appears during the transformation. This is similar to her transformation into Super Sailor Moon where in the Infinity arc Usagi initially uses the power of her friends within the Holy Grail to transform into that form. This new Holy Grail is not pictured when she transforms in act 54 and The Secret Hammer Price Hall. Closer to her Dream arc transformation, Usagi does not lose her power if something happens to her friends and she transforms straight to her Eternal form from her civilian form.
  • Silver Moon Crystal Power Therapy Kiss: "Silver Moon Crystal Power Therapy Kiss" is a moonlight-based attack performed by Eternal Sailor Moon. The attack was first used by Sailor Moon to destroy the Sailor Guardians who were under the control of Sailor Galaxia's bracelets. This also happens in the musical only she also destroys Tuxedo Mask who was under the control of Sailor Galaxia's Bracelets. She also used this attack a second time to fight Sailor Galaxia herself.
  • Silver Moon Crystal Eternal Power: "Silver Moon Crystal Eternal Power" is Eternal Sailor Moon's last and most powerful energy attack in the manga, being used in Act 60. It uses the direct power of the Silver Crystal with the objective to cause that the Sailor Crystals from inside the Galaxy Cauldron would fly out in all directions at Chaos until it breaks apart. This attack also appeared in the musical Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu. Eternal Sailor Moon used this attack in conjunction with Starlight Honeymoon Double Therapy Kiss, with which she and Sailor Chibi Moon defeated Dark Plasman and Dark Mirror.

Other

Standard Tactics: Usagi will normally start off either by transforming into Sailor Moon or using a disguise with her disguise pen. Initially Usagi needed Luna's help in order to know what to do[468][469], usually crying which would cause her ultrasonic attack and throwing her tiara to do the frisbee attack[470] along with using her Sailo Moon Kick. By the time of the end of the first arc and later arcs, Sailor Moon has become more used to fighting, using her crescent boomerang[471], Sailor kick[472], and her signature attack, Moon Princess Halation[473]. She will also seal threats from existence.

Weaknesses: Initially started off very inexperienced[474][475], was a complete crybaby[476], and a coward that wants nothing to do with being a guardian of justice[477], though she has since gotten over this[478]. Though she is still a teenage girl and thus can be very emotional at times[479], though she will call herself out on it and fix the issue. Using too much energy on the Moon Wand will cause her to pass out, though this could also be due to her having her energy sapped prior[480]. One cannot utilize the full power of the Mystical Silver Crystals if they are in a weakened mental state[481]. The Mystical Silver Crysal's Powers will not work if Sailor Moon is in close proximity to a future or past Sailor Moon with the silver crystal[482]. Removing her brooch will de-transform her from her Sailor Moon form[483]. Can get motion sickness[484]. If her heart is not connected with the other Sailor Guardians, she will lose her Super Sailor Moon form[485].

Note

Trivia

  • The first English translation of the manga by TokyoPop often called her "Bunny" which preserved the meaning of her name while translating it. Early localizations in other languages, such as German, followed suit and called her "Bunny" as well.
  • Usagi makes cameo appearances in Codename: Sailor V Vol.5 and Vol.6. In the former, she was seen looking at a poster advertising the Sailor V game. In Volume 6, she and Naru Osaka were outside of Game Center Crown, with Usagi wanting to go inside and play the Sailor V game. She makes additional cameos as Princess Serenity.
  • Her name translates as moon rabbit , which is why there are a lot of stuffed bunnies (like in her room, for example) in the series.
  • Usagi has shown an attraction to both guys[489] and girls[490][491], implying that she's bisexual. Further implication can be brought from her being kissed by Sailor Uranus and having it stay in her mind[492], along with having a potential crush on her[493].
  • Kotono Mitsuishi reprises her role since the original anime.
  • In the manga Usagi's hair are light blonde. In both anime series her hair are golden blonde.
  • In English dub of the series, Stephanie Sheh replays her role since Viz's Redub for the original anime.
  • Mamoru often uses the nickname Usako (うさ子) for Usagi, meaning "bunny kid".
  • She is the only character to appear in all chapters of the manga, all 200 episodes of the anime, and all episodes of the live-action series.
  • In live-action ACT Zero, when Usagi didn't yet know that she was a Sailor Warrior, she disguised herself as Sailor Rabbit (since Sailor V was very popular at the time) to fight against jewel thieves in Naru's mother's jewelry shop.
  • Her birthday is on June 30th, so her zodiac sign is Cancer.
  • Favorite colors: pink, white
  • Hobbies: Eating, sleeping, shopping
  • Favorite food: ice cream, cookies, cake
  • Most hated food: carrots
  • Favorite school subject: home economics
  • Worst school subjects: Math, English
  • Fears: ghosts, dentists
