Background

Jesse is the main protagonist of Minecraft: Story Mode, a fictional play set in the universe of Minecraft. Jesse and friends lived normal lives before their lives were thrown into chaos by Ivor and his deadly monster named the Wither Storm. After the Wither Storm's defeat, Jesse and their friends are solidified as heroes for all of time and go on adventures unlike anything in the regular world of Minecraft.

The narrative of Minecraft: Story Mode is a play dictated by the audience's choices and decisions), Human Achievements (Is a skilled swordsman and treasure hunter, a smart mayor, and a veteran builder), Weapon Usage (Can use several different weapons efficiently in combat), Acrobatics (Can perform flips and stunts in combat), Dimensional Storage and Size Manipulation (Items such as blocks shrink and grow in size in order to be stored in a hot bar that holds all of Jesse's current inventory. When crafting objects with resources such as cobblestone, they simply shrink in size on the Crafting Table), Creation (Can build blocks such as crafting tables on the fly), Preparation (Jesse and friends are well known for their quick thinking and strategic thinking when building and fighting threats far greater than themselves), Accelerated Development (Combat and Training; Physical Stats, Skill, and Stamina. Jesse, with no prior knowledge, bested Magnus in the Death Bowl to a griefing competition. Weapon Creation (Various materials, such as stone and diamond, can create weapons of Jesse's choosing), Earth Manipulation (Can use several variations of natural blocks to use offensively and defensively in combat), Explosion Manipulation and Shockwave Generation (With TNT blocks [Can be used offensively with the use of TNT cannons and used to launch the user into the air via the blast shockwaves]), Technological Manipulation and Organic Manipulation (With redstone and slime blocks, the former being a diverse power source capable of creating numerous offensive and defensive contraptions, whereas the latter can be used as a block or entity launcher [Far more effective when combined with pistons]), Web Manipulation (Can use Spider Webs to create string [Can be further used to make a bow or a fishing rod] or as a trap for opponents)

Statistics Amplification (When Soren and the other members of the Order of the Stone used the Command Block, it made them stronger and faster), Mind Manipulation and Clairvoyance, possible Cosmic Awareness (Programmed the Wither Storm's mind to track and hunt Gabriel's amulet regardless of where he is [Potentially includes locations such as the End]), Existence Erasure (Type 1. Soren used the Command Block to "blink" the Ender Dragon out of existence), Magic and Empowerment (Empowered and enchanted a regular diamond weapon with the power of the Command Block to counter the Wither Storm. Gave the Wither Storm newfound powers and abilities), Fusionism (Fused with Wither Storm's body when it was created), Absorption and Vacuum Manipulation (Gave the Wither Storm the ability to absorb land mass and entities into its body. The Command Block attempted to absorb Jesse when exposed), Regeneration and Resurrection (High-Mid, possibly higher. Revived and reformed the Wither Storm into multiple beings after its resurrection), Reality Warping and possible Subjective Reality (The Command Block allows its user to alter reality similarly to the original Minecraft Command Block. This allowed Soren to do whatever he needed to achieve for the Order of the Stone)

Water Manipulation and Magma Manipulation (With a bucket of water or lava. The former can create a small area of water capable of negating fall damage and washing away redstone, the latter can instantly ignite and kill foes in the lava), Fire Manipulation and minor Light Manipulation (With a torch, which Jesse can use offensively and as a light source), Enhanced Stealth Mastery (The Enderman costume allows Jesse to blend in with Enderman and is naturally a dark costume making it ideal for stealth approach), Enhanced Explosion Manipulation and Shockwave Generation (Can craft the Formidi-Bomb; A far more powerful TNT capable of temporarily killing the Wither Storm [Due to the fragile nature of the Formidi-Bomb, it is incredibly dangerous to use offensively without killing the user in the process]), Statistics Amplification (The Potion of Swiftness increases Jesse's speed enough that those comparable to him/her are slow), Invisibility (The Potion of Invisibility makes Jesse completely invisible), Limited Portal Creation and Dimensional Travel (The enchanted flint & steel can open specific portals in every world Jesse visits that leads to the Portal Network), Clairvoyance (The Atlus points Jesse wherever he/she wants or need to go), Self-Sustenance (Type 1. The Enchanted diving helmet allows Jesse to breathe underwater indefinitely)


Standard Equipment

*Wooden Sword: Jesse's first weapon and only weapon acquired on his/her own prior to episode five. The wooden sword is very brittle and can only hold off a weak group of mobs, likely due to Jesse's use of it in the treehouse.

  • Stone Sword: A sword gifted by Petra after she rescued him/her from a hoard of mobs. Depending on Jesse's actions later in episode one, he/she potentially keeps this sword up until it breaks above the Farlands maze.
  • Gold Sword: A sword stolen by Petra from Ivor's basement and gifted to Jesse depending on previous actions when saving Reuben. Depending on Jesse's actions, he/she potentially keeps this sword up until it breaks above the Farlands maze.
  • Enchanted Diamond Sword: A sword Jesse creates and enchants between the events of episode four and episode five. Being an enchanted sword, it is far more powerful than a normal blade and can easily cleave through hordes of mobs in single slashes. Although the sword does break in clash with gladiators in episode eight, Jesse crafts another identical sword before season two.
  • Diamond Sword: A sword Jesse chooses between (The latter option being the enchanted iron sword) at the end of episode three of season two when escaping Romeo's Sunshine Institute. He/she either uses it for the remainder of the season or gives it up to a group of scavengers as payment for their immediate assistance.
  • Enchanted Iron Sword: A sword Jesse chooses between (The latter option being the diamond sword) at the end of episode three of season two when escaping Romeo's Sunshine Institute. He/she either uses it for the remainder of the season or gives it up to a group of scavengers as payment for their immediate assistance.

*Magnus' Armor: Magnus the Rogue's armor is primarily green with brown as the secondary color. The armor is acquired after Jesse chooses the armor of either Magnus or Ellegaard when facing the Wither Storm with the Formidi-Bomb; the owner of which Jesse chooses the armor of dies shortly after.

  • Ellegaard's Armor: Ellegaard the Redstone Egineer's armor is a mixture of brown, gold, and red (As the armor was infused with Redstone). The armor is acquired after Jesse chooses the armor of either Magnus or Ellegaard when facing the Wither Storm with the Formidi-Bomb; the owner of which Jesse chooses the armor of dies shortly after.


Optional Equipment

  • Bow: A standard bow Jesse chooses to make between it and a fishing rod. The bow is most efficient in mid-range to long range combat and is capable of causing chain reactions with TNT.
  • The Enchanted Weapon: Also dubbed the "Ultimate Weapon". This weapon is imbued with the power of the Command Block itself as a direct counter to the Wither Storm. Jesse only uses this weapon at the end of episode four of season one to permanently kill the Wither Storm.
  • Romeo's Gauntlet: Romeo's Gauntlet, also called the Prismarine Gauntlet, was discovered by Jesse and Petra in a part of the Beacontown mines. The Gauntlet gives Jesse a much stronger punch and also acts as a beacon for the Admin to track the wearer.
  • Fred's Gauntlet: Fred's Gauntlet, also called the Gold Protocol, was a gauntlet specifically made to counter and remove an admin's powers. Jesse acquires this gauntlet in the Terminal Zone and shortly loses it after removing Romeo's powers.
