Introduction

The Codex Wiki Alliance is an alliance made for The Codex Wiki with other wikis under the codex subdomain. It was officially started in August 15, 2026. The alliance serves as a collaborative network for wiki communities to be able to work on an independent wiki free of restrictions they have elsewhere. Membership is open to any wiki operating under the codex subdomain that meets the alliance's standards.

Rules

When apart of the alliance, some rules need to be preset:

  • One cannot have a controversial wiki: This means that the mods should not be promoting or supporting intolerant, bigoted, or hateful speech.
  • One must maintain active moderation: Member wikis are expected to have a reasonably active moderation team to enforce their own rules and respond to reports in a timely manner.
  • One must not engage in raiding or harassment: Member wikis and their staff may not organize, encourage, or participate in raids, brigading, or harassment campaigns against other wikis or individuals, whether or not those parties are part of the alliance.
  • One must respect other members: Member wikis should treat other alliance members with respect, and disputes between wikis should be handled through civil discussion rather than public attacks or retaliation.
  • One must keep content reasonably safe: While member wikis are free to cover mature topics, they should not host content that is illegal or that exists purely for shock value.
  • One must remain in good standing: If a member wiki repeatedly violates alliance rules or brings the alliance into disrepute, the alliance may vote to suspend or remove that wiki from the alliance.
  • One must participate in good faith: Member wikis should engage honestly with the alliance, including in votes, discussions, and any shared obligations agreed upon by the membership.

Q&A

  • Q: Will this mean any wiki that joins the Codex needs to follow their tiering?
    • A: No. You are completely left to your own tiering and pages, at worse some members may come to the wiki to make threads but they must abide by the rules you constructed.
  • Q: Will we be forced to interact with the main Codex branch?
    • A: Asides from the site adminstrator and owner for handling any issues on the site, you do not need to interact with anyone on the main Codex branch, you can continuing using your wiki like if it was one fandom.
  • Q: What are the qualifications for joining?
    • A: For now there's no direct qualifications other then an active wiki with a big enough userbase. We are planning to further the qualifications later.
  • Q: Would doing this beat X Wiki?
    • A: This can't be said for certain nor is it the purpose of the alliance. The purpose is to help out indexing wikis that want to be on an indepedent site.
