This character or verse has mature themes and concepts, thus those of young age are ill-advised to look through these.

I'm surprised you made it this far! The rebirth of Dracula will occur soon. You cannot destroy me, Father.
~ Soleil to Christopher Belmont

Background

Not even a year following the supposed death of Count Dracula at the hands of Christopher Belmont, the vampire hunter decided to finally settle down and continue his family’s bloodline. He had one son, Soleil Belmont, who Christopher trained to be a vampire hunter until he turned 15. On Soleil’s 15th birthday, he was going to go through his passage into manhood, and inherit the Vampire Killer whip. However, just before the ceremony could commence, Soleil disappeared.

In truth, Dracula hadn’t actually been killed by Christopher, and remained in mist form. He had been lying in wait for his day to strike, and saw now as his opportunity to do so. Dracula used his dark influence to possess Soleil, and then raised four elemental castles; with Soleil waiting at the bottom of Dracula’s Castle.

Christopher fought his way through the four elemental castles and reached Dracula’s Castle, where he faced off against the possessed Soleil. After a hard-fought battle, Soleil was defeated by his father and freed him from his possession. The two then used their combined power to destroy Dracula for real.

In the years following, Soleil inherited the Vampire Killer whip, and defended Transylvania from any creatures of the night who may appear. He would go on to become the grandfather of the legendary Simon Belmont.

Golem with his ultimate can shoot out a mouth blast that vaporizes everything it touches as far as the eye can see getting these results[19]. While mind controlled, could fight and harm Christopher Belmont[20]), Far Higher with Sheer Will (Simon claims that the Belmonts and Morrises did not defeat Dracula because of the Vampire Killer, with the reason behind heroes' capacity to fight against evil lying not in their physical strength but the noble desire to drive away evil and usher in all that is good, the desire to protect the world for all of humanity, with the courage to fight to protect others being the true essence of a hero and a Belmont's strength, with this even applying for other heroes such as Shanoa, Maria, Charlotte, and even Arikado[21]. Powers and Techniques

Is a member of the Belmont Bloodline, which gives him:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics (The Belmonts are known as the most powerful and renowned vampire hunters within the world of Castlevania[37]. During and before Trevor's time[38], the Belmont's were feared because of their immense power[39]), Acrobatics (Due to Belmonts superhuman nature, they possess very athletic and acrobatic bodies, examples include Richter easily flipping over Death's scythe attack while also jumping around and fighting Death while on a moving horse carriage[40]. Richter also showcases this with his boss fight in Dracula X where he must jump across platforms while also fighting against Dracula[41]. Julius showcasing extreme acrobatic leaps to reach the top of a castle drawbridge[42]), Genius Intelligence (Belmonts are trained and some of the best users of various sub-weapons, which in Castlevania requires one to have a high intelligence to be able to do[43]), Martial Arts (Striking Arts; Trevor left behind all of his fighting techniques to each new Belmont clan member and Morris clan member[44]), Weapon Mastery (No matter the Belmont, they have all showcase a natural gift in using weapons, with Christopher showcasing the tools of his family's destiny are always the axe, dagger, cross, & stop watch[45]. Many of the famous Belmont weapons were left behind by Trevor[46], with him noting them to be the axe, dagger, cross, holy water, and stop watch[47]), Sheer Will (The Belmonts are all ones with strong courage and willpower, where having a strong constitution dictates and influences how fast one can recover from status effects such as poison or curse[48]. Belmonts are pillars of strength, willing to keep fighting even when weakened greatly and having their existence slowly erased from history[49]. Simon claims that the Belmonts and Morrises did not defeat Dracula because of the Vampire Killer, with the reason behind heroes' capacity to fight against evil lying not in their physical strength but the noble desire to drive away evil and usher in all that is good, the desire to protect the world for all of humanity, with the courage to fight to protect others being the true essence of a hero and a Belmont's strength, with this even applying for other heroes such as Shanoa, Maria, Charlotte, and even Arikado[50]. The Belmonts will is far greater than even the likes of the Fernandez/Belnades Clan, including Camilla Fernandez, where its noted she had great spirit and struggled mightily against the curse before she became a vampire[51]), Aura (Belmonts release a glow of aura around them[52], that envelops their body[53]), Non-Standard Interaction (Metaphysical Interaction; Belmonts can interact with ghosts with their whips and sub-weapons[54]. Elemental Interaction; Belmonts can interact with enemies that are the mist itself with their whips and sub-weapons[55]. Belmonts can interact with creatures of the night made of sand[56]. Can interact with creatures of the night made of fire[57]. Can fully disperse and destroy water bubbles instead of the attack just going through it[58]. Blood Interaction; Can harm and kill enemies made of blood[59]. Abstract Interaction; Belmonts can interact with and kill Death[60], where Death is death, being the absolute presence, the awe, the religion, and the dark god[61]. He refers to death itself as him[62]. Noting that he is completely death and human death is only a part of Chaos[63]. Olrox when seeing Death fight serious notes that he senses the overwhelming existence of death and states that death really exists[64]), Nullification (Pain Immunity Nullification; The Belmonts can make the White Dragon visibly react to pain[65] and scream out in pain, where it is an immortal being immune to pain and suffering[66]. Abstract Nullification; The Belmonts can nullify and destroy the scythes from Death, who can use his scythes to kill abstractions such as distance and sound[67]. Death decides who lives and who dies[68]), Immortality Negation (Ageless & Life and Death Immunity; The Belmonts can render immortal skeleton death gods like Death, mortal, having him bleed from attacks, giving him mortality as shown when Death dies to his own scythe cutting off his head and having blood spurt out, something not possible as a skeleton[69]. The Belmonts can kill Death to the point that he requires Mathias to survive in order for him to rise from the dead[70]. Death is a being unconstrained by mortality[71]), Resurrection Bypassing (The Belmonts can kill zombies[72], who are corpses brought back to life from the power of hate[73]), Enhanced Senses (Belmonts such as Trevor could sense the power of a Belmont within Simon and also could tell he did not seem to grasp the fundamentals of combat in Judgment's time rift[74]), Extrasensory Perception (Belmonts can feel others being in an area, such as Simon Belmont being able to feel Trevor Belmont is in the time rift[75]. Leon could sense and feel that Joachim Armster was a vampire[76]. Leon could sense the rage from a Vampire Killer[77]. Trevor could sense a bad omen approaching[78]. Christopher Belmont felt a "chill" upon Dracula's return[79]. Belmonts such as Juste could sense Death's overwhelming power[80]. Belmonts such as Juste could sense the aura of the two different layers of the castles[81]. Belmonts can see beings like the Bitterfly, a mutated insect, visible only to magicians[82]. Julius could sense the dark powers within Soma Cruz[83]. Julius could sense Dracula's powers at work within Graham, though could tell from sensing Graham that he very likely was not Dracula[84]. Julius when fighting Soma could feel the evil spirit within Soma but also Soma's good spirit[85]), Precognition (Premonitions; Belmonts can have future premonitions through their dreams, such as Christopher dreaming about Dracula stealing his son and turning him evil, far before he even had one[86]), Magic (Due to coming into contact with Rinaldo and gaining the whip, Rinaldo granted him a magic amulet[87]. where Leon gained magical energy that would naturally be passed down to all of his descendants[88]. Belmonts such as Julius naturally have magical powers due to this[89], along with Juste having magical powers deriving from the Fernandez (Belnades) family[90]), Principle Manipulation (Magic comes from alchemy, a field that experiments with the principles of God's creation of the world[91]), Afterimage Creation (Belmonts can envelop themselves in an aura of light that allows them to move so fast, their light projections cannot keep up[92]), Glyph Creation & Portal Creation (The Belmont blood acts as a key to[93] the infinite corridor[94]), Empowerment & Holy Manipulation (Belmonts can amplify weapons, Leon holding The Whip of Alchemy had it become more powerful then before, with Rinaldo stating that the whip fits Leon better than it fits him, despite him being the one to make the Whip of Alchemy[95]. Medusa even noted that it wasn't so powerful before believing the whip gained its complete form[96]. Belmonts can call upon the power of the light and use it to amplify their strength to be stronger and faster[97], this is also shown with Trevor Belmont's ultimate in Castlevania Judgment[98]. The Belmonts can use their stored energy (hearts) and transfer it into subweapons to make regular weapons as strong as they are along with magically enhancing them[99]), Invulnerability (Metaphysical Invulnerability; Belmonts have an inborn self-defense ability known as "Burning Mode" which makes them invincible and raises their status to twice the normal level[100]), Statistics Boost (Belmonts get stronger from hearing of someone's grief, wanting to help them[101]), Reactive Power Level (As Dracula grows stronger each time he revives, the Belmonts have had to keep up, evolving to be powerful even without the strength of the Vampire Killer[102]), Sealing (Metaphysical Sealing; Belmonts can capture the spirits of enemies equal or greater to an area boss and use their abilities from their soul[103]), Nullification (Sealing Nullification; Belmonts such as Julius can completely destroy barriers, however depending on how strong the barrier is, they may have no more energy to fight[104])

Resistances to Extreme Colds (Belmonts can walk in ice cold rooms without much worry[105]), Extreme Heats (Belmonts can travel in boiling hot rooms without much effect[106]. They can also fight enemies such as the Flame Elemental who emerges from the lavas of the room with the whole room being so hot it's colored red[107]. Richter showcases this where he moves around in a burning city without much effect or limitation to his movements[108]), Absorption (Belmonts can fight and take hits from the mist[109], a creature that swallows up the living[110]), Life-Force Absorption (Belmonts can take hits from the Spirit[111], which is an evil spirit that sucks up people's life energy[112]), Corruption (Belmonts can be bitten by vampires without instantly turning[113]), Helfire Attacks (Belmonts can take hits from the Flame Demon, a demon that wields the fires of Hell[114]), Status Effect Inducement, Poison Manipulation, & Curse Manipulation (The Belmonts are all ones with strong courage and willpower, where having a strong constitution dictates and influences how fast one can recover from status effects such as poison or curse[115]), Paralysis Inducement (Belmonts can be paralyzed[116], and slowly recover from the effects of it[117]), Attack Reflection (Belmonts can[118] hit Dracula[119] with different[120] projectile[121] attacks[122], this extends to even Morrises'[123], where Dracula's mere rib bone reflects all projectiles back[124]), Petrification (Belmonts can[125] take hits[126], from Medusa heads[127] who can turn one into stone upon contacting them[128]. Belmonts can[129] can break out of[130], being petrified[131]), Erasure (Metaphysical Erasure; The blood of the Belmont Clan can keep one's spirit from being erased from Dracula's magic[132]), Time Stop (1-T; Belmonts are unaffected by time being stopped[133]. With time in Castlevania being so potent that not even eternity can withstand time[134], along with even artificial life being subject to the laws of time[135]), Poison Manipulation (Belmonts can take hits from the poison zombie[136], which spews a deadly poison that can rot flesh on contact[137]), Fear Manipulation (Belmonts can be within Dracula's presence along with holding and using Dracula's rib bone where Dracula's mere rib bone is enough to make[138] an ordinary hero feel like a spineless coward[139]), Light Manipulation & Holy Manipulation (Belmonts have a natural resistance to holy elemental attacks[140]), Absolute Zero (Belmonts can take ice from the frost demon[141], a demon that wields absolute cold[142] and a total command of cold[143], making it superior to the likes of Cyril who can wield absolute zero and is seen as a standard ability from a creature of the night[144]), Essence Manipulation (Belmonts can take hits from Succubus[145], who can suck up a person's essence[146]), Sleep Manipulation (Belmonts are able to resist sleep based abilities, such as Leon resisting Walter's attempt to put him to sleep[147]), Death Manipulation & Fate Manipulation (Temporal Fate; Belmonts cannot[148] be killed[149] by the[150] likes of[151] Death and his scythes[152], who is noted to govern the fate of death[153], being noted to have the power to govern the end of all living things[154], and can use his scythes to kill abstractions such as distance and sound[155]. Death decides who lives and who dies[156]), Law Manipulation (Belmonts are unaffected by contracts, where Renon had Reinhardt unknowingly agree to a contract with Satan where if he spends over 30 thousand gold pieces, his soul is forfeit, with Reinhardt being able to kill Renon and negate the contract altogether[157], where contracts are made to be absolute and bind one to it's agreements[158])

Equipment

Whips

  • Leather Whip: A weaker whip than the Vampire Killer, which Soleil used during his training to become a vampire hunter. He used it in preparation to receive the Vampire Killer whip.
  • Vampire Killer: The complete form of the Whip of Alchemy, infused with the soul of Sara Trantoul. It can slay anything related to the vampires. This whip would be passed down to the rest of the Belmont Clan, and used to slay Dracula countless times. While Soleil does not have it during the events of Belmont's Revenge, he would inherit it in the future as the Belmont tradition goes.

Sub-Weapons

  • Swords: Soleiyu has access to three swords, which he telekinetically spins up in the air before they target the opponent and stab downwards at them.

Other

Standard Tactics: Soleil uses his whip in attacks along with using floating swords to throw at his opponent.

Weaknesses: Has been possessed by Count Dracula before and forced to turn against his own father, and was only freed after being defeated in combat. Could likely be possessed again with just as much proficiency.

Note

Trivia

  • "Soleiyu Demon" is a boss name that exists only in the English localization.
  • Soleil was the first protagonist turned to antagonist boss to appear in the Castlevania series and also the first Belmont to be fought.
  • "Soleiyu" is a mistranslation of the French word soleil, meaning "sun", a reference to the traditional weakness of vampires.
  • Soleil's name is never mentioned in the graphic novel Castlevania: The Belmont Legacy, though it is pretty clear the unnamed son in Christopher's dream is Soleil, as it is a dream with a son being controlled by Dracula.
  • The event of Count Dracula's resurrection by Soleil was treated confidentially as a "scandal in the family". For this reason, only one victory of Christopher over Dracula was known in Simon Belmont's time[215].
  • It's unclear what whip Soleil uses during the events of Belmont's Revenge, as it's never explained in-game or by IGA himself.
    • Artworks of Soleil show him holding what appears to be a leather whip, but in his in-game sprite his whip has a spiked ball tip.

Codex Statistics Questions

Q: Shouldn't the characters be around tier 2 for defeating the Time Reaper who would've destroyed the very fabric of time[216], attempted to destroy the specific era of time[217], cause all beings everywhere to disappear, forever[218] and that the age was on the verge of collapse[219]?

A: We actually never get a direct outright method of Time Reaper's plan for doing this, from what Aeon mentions to Golem, if the Time Rift is not erased, all beings everywhere will disappear, forever[220], implying that it's the Time Rift causing this, this is further backed up by the fact that in Time Reaper's boss fight, there is a vortex in the background consuming everything[221], meaning this is an overtime feat that scales to no one physically.

Q: Shouldn't they get tier 2 for Dracula's influence destabilizing the flow of time[222]?

A: This is a potent ability but has nothing to do with Attack Potency, there is no quantification for "destabilizing the flow of time", along with this, even if it was taken as physically, then it would be overtime as the effects are not noticeable throughout most of Curse of Darkness.

Q: Shouldn't Dracula and by proxy anyone that scales to him get tier 2 for him being able to sustain his castle?

A: This goes under our Stabilization Feats standards, which treats sustaining feats are non-combat applicable Attack Potency normally, though in Dracula's case the Castle is speficially powered by the existence of a Dark Lord, and doesn't necessarily need their strength to rise. In the Castlevania novel, the castle rose without a Dark Lord as an example. Along with this, no one scales to the collapse of the castle, in Curse of Darkness Hector would've died to the collapse of the castle if[223] Julia didn't come save him, and Isaac died within the castle[224]. In other cases the Castle does not collapse[225], but instead slowly fades away[226]. At the end of Dawn of Sorrow Soma Cruz and Genya Arikado (aka Alucard) must escape the collapsing abyss.

Q: Shouldn't Castlevania characters that scale to Death have Infinite speed due to Death being able to kill distance itself with his attacks?

A: Killing distance to attack is not a speed feat, it's a method of Spatial Manipulation by circumventing and ignoring distance, while one can say the attack spawns on you instantly, this is not really something quantifiable. Along with this, it would only scale to characters comparable to Death during post-Dawn of Sorrow, as Soma notes Death is far faster than he remembered from his fight with him in Dawn of Sorrow[227].

  64. Akumajo Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku "Those scythes constructed by magic did not turn towards Olrox or Michelle, every scythe then gathered near the youth’s body.
Then, those numerous blades made from magic overlapped with each other and with a powerful atrocious magic constructed a Death scythe in Death’s arm.
“This false castle……You shall fall into chaos as a thing that denies the existence of the [lord]……[death] shall pass judgment on your sins!”
Sensing the overwhelming existence of [death], Olrox again realized that the youth in front of him is [Death]------laughed out loud.

“…… If so, why did you take power away from the crack in the eclipse’s seal? If you just intend to imitate like a monkey, isn’t your own power enough?”
Those were the emotionless words of Death.
In response, Olrox laughed his bold answer.
“As I’ve said, I would equally gain control over the human world and the source of Dracula’s power, chaos. I do not intend to obey someone else’s mind aside from my own. That includes you who were born out of chaos.”
    “……”
“You should be glad though to know yourself. Just by stealing power, my shameful monotonous time is over…… Even before Alucard appeared, just because I showed up and declared war on him.”
Olrox’s voice was mixed with a tinge of thin delight. He respectfully bowed to Death who completely killed his emotions.
“I would end the reincarnation cycle of this demon castle. I who understood and was spun out of the stains of chaos, swear to rob that power with my hands. Now, yield.”
With Death’s reply, an explosive murderous intent rose.
Two bronze colored scythes much larger than usual appeared; it advanced to the space in between the two men with an intention to cut off Olrox’s head.
    Kill the distance-----
    Kill the sound-----
    Just, faster, soon, die.
It can be seen that the blades have certainly caught Olrox’s neck, but----- that is only an after image and the vampire is already at Death’s back.
    “……die.”
That was said by the enemy who called on his servants.
From the surrounding space, a group of purple bats rose, passed by Olrox’s arm with the speed of a bullet, attacking Death. However, Death did not show any gesture of avoiding them. He simply faced Olrox and sprayed out numerous scythes.
The bats and scythes cancelled each other out and the entire dance hall sparkled with blood."

  155. Akumajo Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku Novel “I had said it before. I do not intend to bind the world with chaos.”

There was definitely no room for doubt. It is certain that the [castle] exists at the back of the mountains. The church’s greatest vampire hunter, Julius Belmont must be contacted. However, the conversation jumped into the matter of the disappearance of several village children."
  175. Akumajo Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku "A drawbridge suspended from the main gate is seemingly welcoming Michelle’s arrival.

That really is no doubt an obsession.
The youth had more than 28 holes penetrating his limbs and body. His heart is already starting to fail and he is desperately trying to say something amidst the darkness.
    “Only…… protect…… you……-----“
When he said those words he must say, the man’s soul already left his body-----becoming one of the floating spirits that wander the halls of the castle.
    However-----
    Fate did not allow it.
For those people who are involved with the demon castle, even the loneliness of death seemed half hearted-----
The man’s soul is pierced by a small scythe that flew in from somewhere. That scythe did not exist physically. It was a diabolic blade created by some magic and possessed a strong soul."
