~ Trevor Belmont

Background

Trevor C. Belmont is a main protagonist of the Castlevania series. A direct descendant of the legendary Leon Belmont, Trevor continues his forefather's legacy by serving as a Vampire Hunter. Although the Belmont Clan was feared by the people and thus shunned, Trevor still fought to slay Count Dracula alongside his new friends, Sypha Belnades, Grant Danasty, and Alucard.

This dropdown contains the synopsis of Trevor’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!

In the late 15th century of Wallachia, nearly four hundred years after the age of Leon Belmont, monsters had begun to start fading into legend. Because of peace returning to the land, the Belmont Clan went from revered heroes, to being feared for their power. Because of this, the Belmont’s were forced to live away from society; always watching in case monsters were to return. During this time, the newest member of the Belmont Clan would be born; Trevor C. Belmont, who was destined to stand out amongst his forefathers. Trevor lived in seclusion, but was trained to use the Vampire Killer whip, alongside several other weapons.

Eventually, around 1476, monsters started on a rise once again, attacking Wallachia. Just as many suspected, the perpetrator was Count Dracula (formerly known as Mathias Cronqvist,) who the Belmont Clan had been trailing since the days of Leon Belmont. With the church desperate to save Wallachia, they called upon the Belmont Clan for help, and Trevor Belmont appeared to their aid. On his adventure towards Dracula’s Castle, Trevor made allies to help him on his way; Grant Danasty (a rebellion fighter who had been turned into a monster,) Sypha Belnades (a witch who had been turned to stone,) and Alucard (Dracula’s son, who wanted to help destroy his father.) These three allies would come to be known as the Legendary Three Warriors.

The four heroes made their way to Dracula’s Throne Room, where together they were able to subdue the Vampire King. With one final strike from the Vampire Killer whip, Trevor killed Dracula; being the first member of the entire Belmont Clan to have killed him. From then on, the Belmont Clan regained their honor and respect from the people of Wallachia. Trevor went on to marry Sypha, and peace returned to the land for a time.

However, not three years later, darkness befell Wallachia once again. With an increase of famine and poverty, along with rumors of a cult of Dracula worshippers on the rise. However, the moment Trevor arrived in Wallachia to investigate, a mysterious man named Aeon appeared before him, and pulled him into a time rift. There, Trevor had learned of an incredible plot formulated by a great Demon named Galamoth, who planned on using his minion, the Time Reaper, to completely destroy the entire Castlevania timeline.

Trevor was able to fight his way through the Time Rift, running into several of his own comrades pulled from several different points in time (such as Sypha, before she had met Trevor.) Using this opportunity to test himself, Trevor decided it would be a great chance to fight his allies at their full strength. Eventually, the Time Reaper was defeated, and everyone pulled into the Time Rift was returned from whence they came. Trevor was placed back in Wallachia, in 1479, where he continued his search for Dracula’s worshippers.

Trevor eventually came to an abandoned monastery, where he met Hector; a former Devil Forgemaster working under Dracula, who has since deserted the Dark Lord and was now attempting to stop him. Unaware of Hector’s change of heart, however, Trevor promptly attacked him. After a short scuffle, Trevor realized that Hector was not the enemy, and continued his search; leading him to a man named Isaac, the true worshipper of Dracula that he was after. Trevor learned of Isaac’s plot to resurrect Dracula but was unable to stop it after receiving a mortal wound.

Because of this, it was up to Hector to stop the Dark Lord, while Trevor healed. Thankfully, Hector was able to get the job done and killed Count Dracula a second time. Thankful that the fight was over, Trevor recovered from his wounds and returned to his wife, Sypha. The two would go on to continue the Belmont Clan of Vampire Hunters, becoming the great-grandparents of the legendary Christopher Belmont.

Golem with his ultimate can shoot out a mouth blast that vaporizes everything it touches as far as the eye can see getting these results[22]. Alucard notes that Trevor was a strong man who was the most suited to defeating 1400s Dracula[23]. Trevor fought and defeated 1400s Dracula with the help of many brave warriors[24], who serves as the absolute evil, the opposite to God[25], where for God to be perfectly good, there must be a being of perfect darkness[26], being the entity opposite to God[27], with such power making him far superior to. Traveled through a forest where enemies attacked from the shadows[54]. Can traverse up stairs while fighting enemies and regenerating enemies[55]. Can traverse a swamp with frog enemies jumping out and attacking out of nowhere[56]. Can traverse a room with platforms quickly moving up and down[57]. Powers and Techniques

Is a member of the Belmont Bloodline, which gives him:

Resistances to Extreme Colds (Belmonts can walk in ice cold rooms without much worry[128]), Extreme Heats (Belmonts can travel in boiling hot rooms without much effect[129]. They can also fight enemies such as the Flame Elemental who emerges from the lavas of the room with the whole room being so hot it's colored red[130]. Richter showcases this where he moves around in a burning city without much effect or limitation to his movements[131]), Absorption (Belmonts can fight and take hits from the mist[132], a creature that swallows up the living[133]), Life-Force Absorption (Belmonts can take hits from the Spirit[134], which is an evil spirit that sucks up people's life energy[135]), Corruption (Belmonts can be bitten by vampires without instantly turning[136]), Helfire Attacks (Belmonts can take hits from the Flame Demon, a demon that wields the fires of Hell[137]), Status Effect Inducement, Poison Manipulation, & Curse Manipulation (The Belmonts are all ones with strong courage and willpower, where having a strong constitution dictates and influences how fast one can recover from status effects such as poison or curse[138]), Paralysis Inducement (Belmonts can be paralyzed[139], and slowly recover from the effects of it[140]), Attack Reflection (Belmonts can[141] hit Dracula[142] with different[143] projectile[144] attacks[145], this extends to even Morrises'[146], where Dracula's mere rib bone reflects all projectiles back[147]), Petrification (Belmonts can[148] take hits[149], from Medusa heads[150] who can turn one into stone upon contacting them[151]. Belmonts can[152] can break out of[153], being petrified[154]), Erasure (Metaphysical Erasure; The blood of the Belmont Clan can keep one's spirit from being erased from Dracula's magic[155]), Time Stop (1-T; Belmonts are unaffected by time being stopped[156]. With time in Castlevania being so potent that not even eternity can withstand time[157], along with even artificial life being subject to the laws of time[158]), Poison Manipulation (Belmonts can take hits from the poison zombie[159], which spews a deadly poison that can rot flesh on contact[160]), Fear Manipulation (Belmonts can be within Dracula's presence along with holding and using Dracula's rib bone where Dracula's mere rib bone is enough to make[161] an ordinary hero feel like a spineless coward[162]), Light Manipulation & Holy Manipulation (Belmonts have a natural resistance to holy elemental attacks[163]), Absolute Zero (Belmonts can take ice from the frost demon[164], a demon that wields absolute cold[165] and a total command of cold[166], making it superior to the likes of Cyril who can wield absolute zero and is seen as a standard ability from a creature of the night[167]), Essence Manipulation (Belmonts can take hits from Succubus[168], who can suck up a person's essence[169]), Sleep Manipulation (Belmonts are able to resist sleep based abilities, such as Leon resisting Walter's attempt to put him to sleep[170]), Death Manipulation & Fate Manipulation (Temporal Fate; Belmonts cannot[171] be killed[172] by the[173] likes of[174] Death and his scythes[175], who is noted to govern the fate of death[176], being noted to have the power to govern the end of all living things[177], and can use his scythes to kill abstractions such as distance and sound[178]. Death decides who lives and who dies[179]), Law Manipulation (Belmonts are unaffected by contracts, where Renon had Reinhardt unknowingly agree to a contract with Satan where if he spends over 30 thousand gold pieces, his soul is forfeit, with Reinhardt being able to kill Renon and negate the contract altogether[180], where contracts are made to be absolute and bind one to it's agreements[181])
Resistance to Dracula's Castle's Abilities (Belmonts are able to travel in or around Dracula's Castle without feeling any of the adverse effects from the castle)

The Castle Abilities Include:

Reality Warping (The Castle does not work on standard logic, where changing rooms can have one view a completely different background[182], such as room with a blue sky that is reflecting up and downwards and having the clouds rotate at a fast speed[183]), Transmutation (Beings that come near are subject to the castle's influence, such as a local barnyard owl which was mutated just from flying near it[184]), Possession (The castle possesses objects with its magic, such as a ouija table[185]), Sealing (Dracula's magic captured Aguni, a primitive god of fire[186]. The Castle has doors sealed off without solving puzzles[187]. This can extend to walls being sealed off where explosions will not affect it until the seal is gone[188]), Mind Manipulation (Everything that enters the castle is under the control by the power of Dracula's castle[189], the ghost of Eric Lecarde needed to cast a magic barrier to bind himself so he could be free from the control of the castle[190]. The Castle corrupts the minds of those who enter it, such as making Maxim Kischine feel strange ever since coming to it[191]. It also corrupted the mind of Hugh turning him against Nathan with Nathan noting he's being controlled by Dracula[192]. The castle increases one's dark desires, allowing Dracula to easily control them[193]. The magic of Dracula's power that empowers the owl enemy also spurs it to violence[194]), Madness Manipulation (The Castle warped Gergoth, a once-gentle beast and drove it mad[195]), Size Manipulation (Magically enlarged a toad through the use of demonic baptism[196]), Fear Manipulation (Even while far away, Curtis and Michelle felt malicious intent from the castle where their bodies seemed to squeal "run away"[197]. Michelle even being at the entrance to the castle had her body telling her to not go in and her leg muscles being petrified like stone[198]), Curse Manipulation (The Curse status that spirits inflict[199] comes from them absorbing the magic power around the castle. The Castle cursed a human to turn into a lizard man[200]), Life Manipulation (The castle can bring inanimate statues to life to attack[201]. Can cause the glass murals to come to life and attack[202]), Soul Manipulation (Those that die in the castle become one of the floating spirits that wander the halls of the castle for eternity[203]), Abstract Manipulation & Hell Manipulation (The castle can create a core of evil made from hatred, envy, anger and other dark emotions[204]), Text Manipulation & Plot Manipulation (The vital souls are noted to be apart of the Castle's power[205], where is noted by Lucy that the "vital soul" of a monster is the cause of the grimoire chaos[206] where creatures of the night's dark powers allowed them to rewrite the Grimoires to strengthen their dark powers greatly[207], along with their vital souls causing the grimoires contents to be overwritten changing history to things such as Jonathan Morris is now at a disadvantage in battle[208], or Charlotte fading from existence due to them messing with the history of the Grimoires[209], Maria starting to fade because Richter's history is being rewritten[210], where if the contents of the book change the creatures magic will keep growing and eventually overflow into reality, causing the grimoire to fall into chaos and even more monsters materializing into the real world[211]. The text alterations also make the monsters stronger[212]. With the real world and world of grimoires being considered the same or "equal"[213], compared to the like of Brauner's painting worlds that are quantum multi-layered spaces requiring understandings of theories such as "Curse Amplification"[214]. Death was going to use Dracula's magic to rewrite Dracula's defeat to Trevor making it where Dracula defeats Trevor Belmont instead where Dracula would go on living in the rewritten grimoire with each grimoire being its own world and the grimoires influence extends into reality[215]), Law Manipulation (The vital souls are noted to be apart of the Castle's power[216], which alter grimoires, which do not adhere to the laws of reality[217]), Power Modification (The vital souls are noted to be apart of the Castle's power[218], which the vital souls cause alterations of the Grimoire that can greatly limit the powers of those far stronger than them, such as Jonathan Morris' power being limited due to the alterations[219]. The Chaos of the Grimoire destabilized the magic of the others[220])

Charisma; Alucard noted that Trevor had the ability to enchant others, with those qualities earning him reliable allies even within Dracula's castle[230]), Acrobatics (Able to flip and spin in the air while doing attacks[231]), Martial Arts (Trevor can incoporate hand to hand combat in his whip attacks, being able to do multiple fast kicks[232]), Intimidation (During and before Trevor's time[233], the Belmont's were feared because of their immense power[234]), Animal Taming & Vehicular Mastery (Land Vehicles; Trevor is able to ride horses[235]), Weapon Mastery (Whip Mastery; Trevor is able to use his whip in combat deftly, twirling it in various directions, making it hard for an enemy to get in close to him[236]. Dagger Mastery; Trevor can throw and utilize daggers in combat, throwing them with pinpoint accuracy[237]. He can also throw a multitude of them at once[238]. Resistance to Petrification (Can take hits from Medusa heads[253], who can turn one into stone upon contacting them[254]), Death Manipulation (Can take hits from Death and his scythes[255], who is noted to govern the fate of death[256], being noted to have the power to govern the end of all living things[257], and can use his scythes to kill abstractions such as distance and sound[258]. Metaphysical Interaction; The Vampire Killer can interact with the creaturEs of the night[272] which includes[273] ghosts[274]. This is also shown in Haunted Castle Revisited[275]. Noted by Simon Belmont that the Vampire Killer will cleave one's soul[276]. Elemental Interaction; The Vampire Killer can interact with creatures of the night made of sand[277]. Can interact with creatures of the night made of fire[278]. Can fully disperse and destroy water bubbles instead of the attack just going through it[279]. Blood Interaction; Can harm and kill enemies made of blood[280]), Nullification (Invulnerability Negation; The Vampire Killer can completely remove Walter's invulnerability[281] to where he was immune to all other[282] weapons prior other then the Vampire Killer[283]. Power Nullification; Julius sealed the Vampire Killer within Dracula's castle in order to rip away Dracula's soul and magic[284]. Juste with the Vampire Killer could permanently kill Dracula's Wraith to where he'll fade from the world for good who regenerated from the complete destruction of his body[297]), Immortality Negation (Ageless & Life and Death Immunity; The Vampire Killer can render immortal skeleton death gods like Death, mortal, having him bleed from attacks, giving him mortality as shown when Death dies to his own scythe cutting off his head and having blood spurt out, something not possible as a skeleton[298]. The Vampire Killer can kill Death to the point that he requires Mathias to survive in order for him to rise from the dead[299]. Death is a being unconstrained by mortality[300]. Immortal Metaphysical Aspect; Can harm and kill anything related to vampires, even if they are a divine being[301]), Resurrection Bypassing (The Vampire Killer can kill zombies[302], who are corpses brought back to life from the power of hate[303]), Purification (The Vampire Killer can purify people who was turned into a monster[304]. Christopher with the Vampire Killer purified his son of the evil effects of Dracula[305]), Fire Manipulation (Enemies fade into fire upon being struck with the Vampire Killer[306]. Enemies burst into flames when struck by the vampire killer, with the flames attaching to anything it's connected to, such as a spider having its webs burst into flames too[307]. The whip can have fire burst around the enemies even without them dying[308]. Causes even objects like coffins to burst into flames[309]. • Eye Patch: A small patch Trevor wears over his left eye for a short amount of time, in order to guard the eye wound he was given from Dracula. This is only seen in Castlevania Judgment and all other designs of Trevor mainly go off his Curse of Darkness design.
  • Cape: A large cape Trevor briefly wore in order to conceal his identity, during the time when the Belmont Clan was feared among humans.

  • Notable Techniques

    Directional Combo

    Jumping Combo

    Whip Attack 1

A swift whip strike executed with a snapping motion for extra speed and impact.

Trevor performs a rapid spin, whipping out in all directions to strike multiple enemies at high speed.

    Whip Toss

    Whip Tornado

    Left Hook

He delivers a powerful left hook while stepping forward, with enough force to potentially stun his enemies.

    Low to High

After landing a low kick, Trevor pivots and follows up with a swift spin into a high kick, targeting his opponent's upper body or head.

    Final Rush

Following a series of rapid kicks, Trevor finishes with a forceful heel drop, sending the enemy stumbling backward.

      • Double Jump: While mid-air, Trevor jumps again for added height.
      • Somersault Kick: Trevor executes a rising somersault kick that launches enemies upward. Once airborne, he can perform any move as if he had jumped initially.
      • Air Attack: Trevor swings his whip while airborne, each strike slightly elevating him, allowing him to stay in the air longer. Air Whips can be performed repeatedly until he lands.

    Other

Standard Tactics: Trevor has shown in his Curse of Darkness boss fight to utilize whip attacks in quick succession along with using sub-weapons and item crashes. He will normally also use attacks that best help the situation.

Weaknesses: Trevor has a weakness to darkness elemental attacks[332].

    Note

    Trivia

    • In Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, he is mentioned several times in the story. The first being during the introductory text, as Alucard is mentioned to have teamed up with him. Later, when Maria asks Alucard if she knew of Richter Belmont, Alucard mentions the Belmont Family name and the sprite shows a thought bubble of Trevor's sprite from Dracula's Curse, the warrior he tagged along with in 1476. And finally, when Richter learns the name of the dhampir that just fought him, he recalls the history of how his ancestor with the help of Alucard vanished Dracula 300 years prior (although this is only on the original PlayStation release).
    • In the Castlevania: The Belmont Legacy graphic novel, a painting that references Trevor's appearance on the American box cover appears in the Belmont mausoleum.
    • In Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, Trevor's image appears alongside his fellow Belmonts (Leon, Simon, Juste and Richter) when the Greatest Five Dual Crush is cast. He will randomly appear in either his 32-bit sprite of his fake zombie appearance from Symphony of the Night (now colored brown instead of his original olive color) or in his original sprite from Dracula's Curse.
    • In The Art of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow artbook, Trevor's concept art for this alternate universe looks exactly the same as the original Trevor's design in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. This is a reference and basis for his new appearance, which was used by the art team that worked on the Lords of Shadow games.
    • Even though Trevor didn't originally appear in Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, he is frequently mentioned by various characters in that game. Alucard says he was a very charming leader, and Simon Belmont wonders if he is as worthy as him as a hunter of the Belmont Clan.
      • Trevor was confirmed to appear as an Assist Summon in this game and his "Ex Skill" move was going to be called "Destruction", which is an Item Crash of the Axe from Curse of Darkness. However, he was never added to the game during its first run, as it was discontinued in 2020, making Albus the final Assist Summon to be unlocked.
      • However, in 2021, Konami announced that the game would be re-released via Apple Arcade, and Trevor was ultimately released on May 13, 2022 in that version of the game.
    • Of all the recurring protagonists that have appeared in the Castlevania series, Trevor has gone through the most redesigns throughout all of his incarnations, which take place along the many continuities and universes that comprise the franchise.
      • These changes are also notorious for being very drastic between interpretations, differing a lot from his original barbarian-like design (which followed a similar concept to Simon Belmont), starting with Curse of Darkness, which gave him a long coat similar to the rest of Belmonts designed by Ayami Kojima. Both the original timeline and the Lords of Shadow games portray him as honorable and heroic, while the animated series portrays him as a depressed and sarcastic character.
      • Physically, his many incarnations have ranged from featuring him with long hair to shorter and spiky hairstyles, having scars on various parts of his body, wearing eye patches, wearing diverse types of leather apparels or nobleman's fighting outfits, to even at one point becoming a vampire and having pale skin and white hair.

    Codex Statistics Questions

Q: Shouldn't the characters be around Tier 2 for defeating the Time Reaper who would've destroyed the very fabric of time[339], attempted to destroy the specific era of time[340], cause all beings everywhere to disappear, forever[341] and that the age was on the verge of collapse[342]?

A: We actually never get a direct outright method of Time Reaper's plan for doing this, from what Aeon mentions to Golem, if the Time Rift is not erased, all beings everywhere will disappear, forever[343], implying that it's the Time Rift causing this, this is further backed up by the fact that in Time Reaper's boss fight, there is a vortex in the background consuming everything[344], meaning this is an overtime feat that scales to no one physically.

Q: Shouldn't they get tier 2 for Dracula's influence destabilizing the flow of time[345]?

A: This is a potent ability but has nothing to do with Attack Potency, there is no quantification for "destabilizing the flow of time", along with this, even if it was taken as physically, then it would be overtime as the effects are not noticeable throughout most of Curse of Darkness. Thus this is merely potent Time Manipulation.

Q: Shouldn't Dracula and by proxy anyone that scales to him get tier 2 for him being able to sustain his castle?

A: This goes under our Stabilization Feats standards, which treats sustaining feats are non-combat applicable Attack Potency normally, though in Dracula's case the Castle is speficially powered by the existence of a Dark Lord, and doesn't necessarily need their strength to rise. In the Castlevania novel, the castle rose without a Dark Lord as an example. Along with this, no one scales to the collapse of the castle, in Curse of Darkness Hector would've died to the collapse of the castle if[346] Julia didn't come save him, and Isaac died within the castle[347]. In other cases the Castle does not collapse[348], but instead slowly fades away[349]. At the end of Dawn of Sorrow Soma Cruz and Genya Arikado (aka Alucard) must escape the collapsing abyss.

Q: Shouldn't Castlevania characters that scale to Death have Infinite speed due to Death being able to kill distance itself with his attacks?

A: Killing distance to attack is not a speed feat, it's a method of Spatial Manipulation by circumventing and ignoring distance, while one can say the attack spawns on you instantly, this is not really something quantifiable. Along with this, it would only scale to characters comparable to Death during post-Dawn of Sorrow, as Soma notes Death is far faster than he remembered from his fight with him in Dawn of Sorrow[350].

    86. Akumajo Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku "Those scythes constructed by magic did not turn towards Olrox or Michelle, every scythe then gathered near the youth’s body.
Then, those numerous blades made from magic overlapped with each other and with a powerful atrocious magic constructed a Death scythe in Death’s arm.
“This false castle……You shall fall into chaos as a thing that denies the existence of the [lord]……[death] shall pass judgment on your sins!”
Sensing the overwhelming existence of [death], Olrox again realized that the youth in front of him is [Death]------laughed out loud.

Those were the emotionless words of Death.
In response, Olrox laughed his bold answer.
“As I’ve said, I would equally gain control over the human world and the source of Dracula’s power, chaos. I do not intend to obey someone else’s mind aside from my own. That includes you who were born out of chaos.”
      “……”
“You should be glad though to know yourself. Just by stealing power, my shameful monotonous time is over…… Even before Alucard appeared, just because I showed up and declared war on him.”
Olrox’s voice was mixed with a tinge of thin delight. He respectfully bowed to Death who completely killed his emotions.
“I would end the reincarnation cycle of this demon castle. I who understood and was spun out of the stains of chaos, swear to rob that power with my hands. Now, yield.”
With Death’s reply, an explosive murderous intent rose.

It can be seen that the blades have certainly caught Olrox’s neck, but----- that is only an after image and the vampire is already at Death’s back.
      “……die.”
That was said by the enemy who called on his servants.
From the surrounding space, a group of purple bats rose, passed by Olrox’s arm with the speed of a bullet, attacking Death. However, Death did not show any gesture of avoiding them. He simply faced Olrox and sprayed out numerous scythes.

That really is no doubt an obsession.
The youth had more than 28 holes penetrating his limbs and body. His heart is already starting to fail and he is desperately trying to say something amidst the darkness.
      “Only…… protect…… you……-----“
When he said those words he must say, the man’s soul already left his body-----becoming one of the floating spirits that wander the halls of the castle.
      However-----
      Fate did not allow it.
For those people who are involved with the demon castle, even the loneliness of death seemed half hearted-----
The man’s soul is pierced by a small scythe that flew in from somewhere. That scythe did not exist physically. It was a diabolic blade created by some magic and possessed a strong soul."

“…… If so, why did you take power away from the crack in the eclipse’s seal? If you just intend to imitate like a monkey, isn’t your own power enough?”
Two bronze colored scythes much larger than usual appeared; it advanced to the space in between the two men with an intention to cut off Olrox’s head.
      Kill the distance-----
      Kill the sound-----
      Just, faster, soon, die.
The bats and scythes cancelled each other out and the entire dance hall sparkled with blood."

It was a whip that was soaked in blood in some places.
“I picked this up at the garden and I believe this is yours, right? Old man Julius also uses a whip. I came here just to deliver this to ya.”
Whoosh, receiving the thrown whip, Michelle noticed that it was the magical whip that serves as Curtis’ weapon.
“That’s great……! Curtis! With this your power-----“
In order to shake away the confusion she had a while ago, Michelle raised her voice, but-----
“Sorry, but…… with my current self, I could not handle it.”
“……? What are you talking about? Curtis……”
was he still confused, Michelle made him grip his whip.
Snap, some kind of popping sound rang and Michelle felt a light shock in her arm.
      “Uh……!?”
What happened, she directed her eyes on the origin of the shock-----
A part of the whip’s handle had a rotten like disintegration-----
A part of Curtis’ hand was burned, and that skin immediately returned back to as before.
      ----- No way……
      “Curtis……?”
“……I am currently weak at holy magic.”
