Background

Son Goku, born Kakarot, is a Saiyan raised on Earth and the overall main protagonist of the Dragon Ball series. Originally was sent to Earth as an infant, Kakarot would be adopted by Grandpa Gohan who named him Son Goku. A head injury at an early age alters Goku's memory, ridding him of his initial destructive nature and allowing him to grow up to become one of Earth's greatest defenders. He constantly strives and trains to be the greatest warrior possible, which has kept the Earth and the universe safe from destruction many times.

Dark Empire Saga In the manga, one of the Dark Dragon Balls travels back to the Battle of Namek and merges with Frieza. With the power of the Dark Dragon Ball, the now transformed Xeno Frieza easily defeats Super Saiyan Goku. Xeno Goku and Xeno Trunks arrive to correct the timeline and assist Goku in his battle against Xeno Frieza. As the fight intensifies, Xeno Frieza enters his 100% Full Power form to block two Super Kamehamehas from Xeno Goku and Super Saiyan Goku. The powerful attacks create an opening, allowing Xeno Trunks to sneak behind Xeno Frieza and cleave him in half, replicating the manner in which Xeno Frieza's Death Saucer had once struck him in the proper timeline. The blow knocks the Dark Dragon Ball away from Xeno Frieza. With the timeline beginning to restore, Frieza, now badly injured, begs Goku for mercy. The fight then concludes as it should, and the timeline is set back to normal. Prison Planet Saga After the Tournament of Power, Goku and Vegeta return to Beerus' planet to resume their training under Whis’ guidance. Meanwhile, Future Trunks and Future Mai travel back in time to visit them, and Future Trunks begins training alongside Goku and Vegeta. However, disaster strikes when Future Trunks is kidnapped and taken to the Prison Planet. In response, Goku, Vegeta, and Future Mai set out to rescue him. Once they reach the Prison Planet, Goku comes face to face with another Goku—this one from a different timeline. The two Gokus quickly notice that they each possess a form the other lacks: Goku with Super Saiyan Blue and Xeno Goku with Super Saiyan 4. Intrigued by each other's abilities, they decide to test their strengths in battle. Though they appear evenly matched at first, Goku ultimately overpowers Xeno Goku, who admits that Goku is a step above him. Despite this, Goku questions Xeno Goku about his origins and learns that they are, in fact, on the same side. Just then, Fu arrives and explains that the only way to escape the Prison Planet is by collecting seven special Dragon Balls held by various prisoners on the planet. Shortly after, Goku and the group are confronted by Cumber, an evil Saiyan. Goku transforms into Super Saiyan 2 and charges at Cumber, but the intense evil ki from Cumber causes Goku to lose control, transforming into a berserk Super Saiyan. In this form, Goku loses all reasoning and attacks Vegeta. However, the situation takes a turn when Future Trunks arrives with Cooler, who transforms into Golden Cooler. With his newfound power, Golden Cooler defeats Goku with a single punch, snapping him out of his berserk state. Mai quickly hands Goku and Vegeta Potara earrings, which they use to fuse into Vegito, preparing to fight Cumber. After an intense battle, Vegito uses up all of his power and defuses, leaving Goku and Vegeta vulnerable. They find themselves facing an even greater threat: a Golden Great Ape version of Cumber. Goku tries to fight back as a Super Saiyan, but Cumber overpowers him easily and steps on him. In a desperate move, Goku transforms into Super Saiyan Blue and uses Kaio-ken x20, hoping to turn the tide, but the battle is abruptly interrupted by Fu, who reverts Cumber to his normal form in order to prevent the destruction of the Prison Planet’s seal. Goku continues to battle, now in Super Saiyan God form, but is still no match for Cumber’s overwhelming strength. Just as Goku is about to be killed, he is saved by Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta, who arrive to assist him. Vegeta tries to wake up the unconscious Goku, and in a dramatic moment, Goku reawakens into Ultra Instinct. With his newfound power, Goku quickly overwhelms Cumber, dominating him with ease. Goku looks over at his counterpart, Xeno Goku, and then returns to the fight to finish Cumber off. Realizing the danger, Xeno Goku, knowing the situation, asks everyone to grab onto him and uses Instant Transmission to teleport them off the planet. Goku finishes Cumber with a Kamehameha, but just as he is about to deliver the final blow, Fused Zamasu appears, steals Cumber’s body, and disappears, leaving Goku standing alone as the Prison Planet begins to implode. Unversal Conflict Saga Goku is saved by the Grand Minister, who transports him to Zeno’s planet, where he is given new attire resembling the Grand Minister's own. They travel to Universe 11, where Goku’s appearance shocks both his allies and enemies. Without uttering a word, Goku enters his Ultra Instinct Sign state and swiftly swats Oren—who is in control of Vegeta's body—off of Future Trunks, saving him. Zamasu and Hearts comment on Goku’s immense Godly power, while an enraged Oren attempts to retaliate, but he is overpowered with ease. With a single punch, Goku separates Oren from Vegeta and blasts Kamin away. He then looks up at Hearts, preparing to face him. Goku flies toward Hearts, but as Kamin and Oren attack together, Goku effortlessly overpowers them and knocks them back. When the two merge into Kamioren, Goku briefly fights the new form until Hearts summons Lagss, who emerges from a large glass shard aimed at Goku. Goku shatters the shard with all his strength, but the effort leaves him drained, reverting him back to his normal form. Lagss then uses the smaller shard pieces to attack, injuring Goku severely. Future Trunks saves Goku from a fatal blow but soon gets caught in a fight of his own, which Goku intervenes in despite taking more damage. Hearts vows to force Goku to awaken his true Ultra Instinct power. Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan and charges at Hearts, only to be quickly subdued by his Gravity Burst technique. Just then, Shin teleports in, and they all escape to Universe 7, where they regroup with Piccolo and Android 17 to fight the Core Area Warriors. Goku faces off against Hearts again, first transforming into a Super Saiyan. Despite his strength, Goku is repeatedly overpowered by Hearts' Gravity Burst. Goku powers up to Super Saiyan Blue, matching Hearts’ strength, though Hearts continues to overpower him. The two clash until Goku turns the tide with a Kamehameha, but Hearts uses his Gravity Fist technique to bring Goku to the ground, forcing him out of his Super Saiyan Blue form. Kamioren, having merged with the power of the Universe Seed, attacks Goku, who tries to stop one of Kamioren’s punches aimed at Vegeta. Overpowered, Goku is caught in Kamioren’s grip but escapes by entering Ultra Instinct Sign once more. Goku instinctively dodges Kamioren’s attacks and sends a Mouth Energy Wave back at his opponent. Goku continues to battle but is caught by Kamioren’s second energy wave. In his mastered Ultra Instinct state, Goku dominates Kamioren. When the Dragon Team unleashes a barrage at Kamioren, Goku follows with a powerful Kamehameha, cracking the red bio-gem on Kamioren’s chest. Goku strikes the gem, causing Kamioren to shatter into pieces. Exhausted, Goku reverts to his normal state. With Hearts merging with the Universe Seed, Fused Zamasu appears to protect him, taking down the entire Dragon Team with a single blow each. Goku, exhausted from his Ultra Instinct use, is unable to transform and finds himself at a disadvantage, but he is saved by the appearance of Jiren and Hit. The three try to face Zamasu but are pushed back by a pulse from the Universe Seed. Goku and the team prepare to fight Hearts when he traps them using green orbs. Goku is knocked down by a single blow from Hearts but quickly recovers, transforming into Super Saiyan Blue. However, his momentum is halted when Hearts reveals he can predict Goku’s movements and emotions, sending him flying backward. After more attacks, Goku suggests to Vegeta that they should fuse, unsure when his Ultra Instinct will be available again. While his friends buy time, Goku and Vegeta fuse into Gogeta. Gogeta defeats Hearts, restoring peace to Earth. Jiren asks why Goku and Vegeta didn’t fuse during the Tournament of Power. Before Gogeta can respond, the fusion wears off, and they return to their separate forms. Vegeta explains that he refuses to fuse with Goku, to which Goku laughs and promises to take on the next opponent alone. Universe Creation Saga At Capsule Corporation, Goku examines a peculiar bird named Tokitoki, which unexpectedly bites him on the nose after commenting on its "stupid-looking face." Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, and Android 17 join Goku in trying to understand the bird's significance when Xeno Trunks and Xeno Pan appear from another dimension in search of Tokitoki, explaining the bird’s crucial role. Suddenly, the twelve Gods of Destruction arrive, threatening the group. Goku asks what Beerus is doing, and Beerus explains that he predicted a strange bird would appear in Universe 7, which could lead to the destruction of all universes. The Gods of Destruction prepare to destroy everyone, but Beerus halts them, deciding to take responsibility for his own universe. Goku and Vegeta then face Beerus, transforming into Super Saiyan Blue. Goku charges at Beerus, throwing a barrage of attacks that Beerus easily avoids, before being kicked away. The fight is interrupted when Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta arrive, pointing out the roots of the Universe Tree. Fu then appears and reveals his plans to create a new universe using the tree, at the cost of destroying other planets and lifeforms. Beerus releases his power to counteract the tree, stopping it from absorbing energy, but is unable to sustain this for long. Goku, Vegeta, and Xeno Trunks set off to find Fu and stop his plans. They are joined by Xeno Pan and Tokitoki, who manage to track Fu’s location. However, before Fu arrives, Turles and Bojack, who are allied with Fu and seek revenge for their past defeats, show up. As the two become hostile, Goku transforms into Super Saiyan Blue to confront Turles and his new Evil Saiyan powers. During the battle, Fu appears, and Goku and Vegeta attempt to face him. However, Turles and Bojack strike them from behind with energy blasts, preventing them from leaving. The two continue fighting until Dogidogi, under Fu's command, freezes Goku and the others with his wings, allowing Fu to capture Tokitoki and escape through a space-time distortion. Soon after, the group falls through a time distortion, where they encounter Xeno Goku, Xeno Vegeta, and a powerful, hostile Janemba. Believing Janemba to be another of Fu’s allies, Goku and Vegeta transform into Super Saiyan Blue to attack. However, they find themselves unable to land a blow as Janemba has analyzed their alternate counterparts’ abilities. Goku continues fighting alongside Xeno Goku, and they land a punch on Janemba just before Salsa and Putine intervene. Goku and the others are drawn back into battle with Janemba. Still at a disadvantage, they pool their Saiyan powers into Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta, allowing them to transform into the Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker state. With this newfound strength, they manage to defeat Janemba. The group is then teleported to the location of the Universe Tree by Putine's magic. Upon arriving, Fu appears, followed by Towa, who teleports everyone away, leaving only Goku, Vegeta, and Fu at the Time Rift. As Vegeta attempts to confront Fu, he is overpowered when Fu uses energy from Cumber, turning Vegeta into a Berserk Saiyan. Goku transforms into Super Saiyan Blue to aid Vegeta but is also taken over. The two enraged Saiyans attack Fu wildly, but Fu easily fends them off before purifying their Evil Aura. With time running out and the Universe Tree threatening their universe, Goku retrieves a Potara he had previously taken from Salsa and throws it to Vegeta. The two fuse once more, becoming Vegito. New Space-Time War Saga After Fu creates his new universe, Goku wakes up alone in a strange and eerie alternate version of West City on Earth, confused by his surroundings. As he attempts to escape Fu's universe, he is attacked by Frieza and Meta-Cooler, along with the Frieza Force. Goku teams up with Hearts to take on the Golden Brothers. Using Ultra Instinct Sign, Goku overwhelms Frieza but soon returns to his base form. However, the two tyrants gain a burst of power after merging with a Dark Dragon Ball, and the brothers manage to put pressure on Goku and Hearts. Just then, Broly appears, easily defeating everyone in his path. Afterward, Broly goes after the Warrior in Black, and the Crimson-Masked Saiyan leaves. Exhausted, Goku sits down, and Hearts tosses him a Senzu Bean. After recovering, Goku thanks Hearts, who reveals he has the Four-Star Dragon Ball and suggests they collect all the Dragon Balls to escape. The two head to Capsule Corporation, where Goku retrieves the Dragon Radar. Goku detects two signals, one of which belongs to Hearts, and the other coming from above them. They teleport to Planet Vegeta, where the Crimson-Masked Saiyan, now transformed into Super Saiyan Rosé, confronts Goku. Goku realizes this is Goku Black, revived through unknown means. Goku transforms into Super Saiyan Blue, and the two battle, with Hearts transforming into Super Hearts to assist. However, Goku Black defeats the pair, easily overpowering them. Unexpectedly, Goku returns in his Ultra Instinct Sign state and begins avoiding Black's attacks, gaining the upper hand. Black takes to the skies and fires blasts, threatening to destroy Planet Vegeta. Goku attempts to use Instant Transmission but can't sense any ki signatures. Just in time, Cell appears and teleports everyone away, saving them from destruction. Goku asks Cell how he returned, and Cell explains it is similar to how Hearts was able to come back. Vegeta asks why Cell saved them, but Cell urges them to be patient. Two figures appear behind the group, surprising Goku and Vegeta. They join Gohan and his group in a nearby cavern, where Shroom, Salsa, and Putine explain that Cell is helping take down the Crimson-Masked Saiyan. With Goku still struggling to master Ultra Instinct, Shroom and the other demons open a door to a room similar to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Goku and Vegeta enter and face phantom versions of their past enemies, completing their training. They leave the room and head to West City to confront the powered-up Super Saiyan Rosé 3 Crimson-Masked Saiyan. With Goku and Vegeta working together, they overpower their opponent, with Goku landing a powerful blow that sends Black crashing into a building. However, Goku's Ultra Instinct state wears off. The Crimson-Masked Saiyan transforms into Super Saiyan Rosé Full Power, forcing Goku and Vegeta to fuse once more into Gogeta. Gogeta defeats the Crimson-Masked Saiyan and defuses afterward. The Warrior in Black reappears with the complete set of Dragon Balls and uses them to send everyone out of the Pseudo Universe. Goku finds himself back in the Crack of Time, where he meets a younger Fu, who has absorbed Dogidogi. When Vegeta appears, Goku fuses with him again to become Gogeta, and the two fight alongside Xeno Gogeta. However, they are quickly overpowered and defuse. Fu throws the Vegetas into a dark vortex to prevent further fusion, but the Gokus receive unexpected backup from Chronoa. Chronoa heals their injuries and asks them to power up to their limits. She then uses a technique to merge their ki, and the two Saiyans attack with a combined Kamehameha, breaking through Fu’s barriers and forcing him to block the attack. Despite Fu stating the attack is dangerous, Xeno Goku notes that even with this immense power, they are still unable to defeat the Dark King. Fu begins absorbing power from the Universe Tree, threatening to consume the universe itself. When Fu attacks Chronoa, Goku grabs one of Fu's tendrils and rips it off. Initially overwhelmed by the energy, Goku manages to harness it, combining the power of the Universe Tree to transform into Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Universe Tree Power). The two engage in an epic battle, culminating in a powerful beam struggle. Goku ultimately defeats Fu with a Kamehameha, overcoming his immense power. Fu, in his final moments, smiles and comments on the universe's potential before being defeated. After the battle, Tokitoki uses his power to restore Universe 7, sending Goku back to where he came from. Supreme Kai of Time Saga On Earth, Goku enjoys a peaceful nap during his farm work. However, he is soon approached by a Mysterious Guide, who introduces himself and invites Goku to participate in the "Super Space-Time Tournament," a competition to determine the strongest fighter from every space-time. Excited at the prospect, Goku eagerly accepts and is teleported to the tournament's location. Upon arrival, he reunites with familiar faces: Gohan, Piccolo, Vegeta, Hit, Jiren, and Yamcha. The Mysterious Guide reappears, explaining the rules of the tournament, before teleporting everyone to the battlefield. On the battlefield, Goku crosses paths with his counterpart, Xeno Goku, and the two are thrilled at the prospect of facing off again. However, before Xeno Goku can explain his reasons for being there, the two are ambushed by another team. They swiftly defeat their attackers and turn their attention to each other, eager for a rematch. Goku transforms into Super Saiyan Blue, while Xeno Goku shifts into Super Saiyan 4. Their battle begins until they are interrupted when members of their team find Time Fairies, which transport them back to the main hall after progressing through the initial round. For the second round, Goku is sent to a stylized version of Planet Vegeta, where he teams up with Jiren to face the Super Saiyan 3 Warrior in Black. Goku, now in Ultra Instinct Sign, prepares for battle. He requests to fight the Warrior in Black alone, sensing a connection to the Saiyan's true name. The Warrior in Black, however, remains silent about his identity. The two engage in combat, and Goku prevails, overpowering his opponent in a beam struggle. Goku then heads to the Time Nest, where he finds Chronoa defeated by Aeos, who has activated her Time Power Unleashed state. Goku approaches Aeos and, after thanking her for hosting the tournament, pleads with her not to erase any timelines, as they still contain living beings. Aeos refuses his request, attempting to freeze Goku with her powers. However, Goku teleports behind her, transforming into his Ultra Instinct Sign state. The two engage in a fierce battle, with Goku using Instant Transmission to appear in front of Aeos and unleashing a Kamehameha at point-blank range. Aeos, recognizing the threat Goku poses, vows to eliminate him.

• Flying Nimbus: Flying Nimbus is a magical, yellow cloud that serves as a way of transportation. Goku obtains the Nimbus from Master Roshi as compensation for saving Turtle. It served Goku and his sons well throughout Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, by acting as a way for them to fly around at high speeds without using up any energy.

• Senzu Beans: Senzu Beans are mystical beans with immense rejuvenation properties, being capable of healing entire wounds, such as one's stomach being punctured.

• Zeno Button: Zeno's Button is a teleportation device that would summon Zeno or Future Zeno to the location the user is at. On the other side there is another button where the user will be transported to Zeno. When Goku came to see Zeno, he invited him to come to Earth sometime, so Zeno gave him a button where Zeno would appear. Later in the Future timeline Goku thought he had another Senzu Bean only for it to turn out that it was Zeno's button. Goku used it to summon Future Zeno in order to erase Infinite Zamasu. Sometime later, Goku thought about reminding Zeno of the upcoming tournament. Beerus, however, was skeptical, even when Goku revealed the alternate button of teleporting himself to Zeno. Threatening to kill Goku, Goku tricked Beerus and teleported himself to Zeno.

While he can combine the two powers, Goku never tried this while alive as doing so could lead to near-certain death. Later, however, with his Super Saiyan Blue, taking advantage of his divine form's superior energy control and more naturally calm mindedness, he was able to use this technique more regularly.

• Super Saiyan: Goku achieves this form in a rage after Frieza killed Krillin. In this form, Goku's muscle and height slight increase and his skin turns lighter. His eyes become noticeably sterner and more defined with green eyes. His hair becomes blond and stands with no loose strands. His power also generates a yellow aura. In the anime, when unleashing the full intensity of his power, Goku's aura also produces some slight electrical sparks. Goku's demeanor is greatly affected by this form, making him more aggressive and irritable.
  • Super Saiyan Second Grade: Realizing that the androids' power exceeds a Super Saiyan, Goku entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to surpass the basic Super Saiyan form. Ultimately, Goku unlocked this form after weeks of training. However, Goku realized that this form spends too much ki to be maintained. Rather than attempting the more arduous and time-consuming task of refining this form, Goku came to the conclusion that the basic Super Saiyan form is better suited for combat, making a plan to master it and abandon this form completely. As a result of this and discovering more powerful forms, this form is never used again.
  • Super Saiyan Third Grade: Along with Second Grade, Goku achieves this form in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. While vastly stronger than Second Grade, the power output is too intense, causing Goku's muscles to become engorged from the struggle of maintaining this unsteady power boost. This instability drained his ki too fast to be of use for long. It also causes an extreme drop in his speed and agility, tiring him even more and reducing his effectiveness overall. Goku noted that while much stronger than Semi-Perfect Cell, it meant nothing if he could not actually hit his foe with it. This made this form impractical against foes of any real speed. Instead of training to overcome this problem, Goku decides that simply mastering the basic Super Saiyan, feeling that it is the best way to fight and gain power. As such a result, this form is never used again.
  • Mastered Super Saiyan: After realizing the weaknesses inherent to the higher Super Saiyan grades, Goku concluded that mastery over the basic Super Saiyan form would be more beneficial. He used the remainder of his time chamber training learning to maintain Super Saiyan for extended periods. Gradually, he overcame the heightened aggression and uneasiness that accompanies this form to feel as natural as his base form, reducing the energy drain to nothing and increasing his endurance to achieve a max output for this form without drawbacks even in regular life. Ultimately, he is able to enter, maintain, and fight in this form for as long as he desires at its full potential with no loss in efficiency or performance. In the anime, with this mastery, during the Tournament of Power, Goku - having gone well-beyond his limits - was able to flash between base and Super Saiyan to defeat Jiren alongside Frieza despite his battered and exhausted state.
  • Super Saiyan (Berserk): During the events of the Prison Planet Saga, Goku obtained this berserker state when he faced Cumber. This state is a corruption; during which, his skin-tone is tanner, and his aura turns darker, consisting of an orange glow surrounded by a dark purple and black regularly accompanied by black electricity sparks in his aura. Also, his pupils disappear, representing his diminished/lack of cognitive thought. It also causes his blasts to become red and black.

• Super Saiyan 2: Goku achieved this form at some time after Cell's defeat while in the Other World. In this form, Goku gains some changes; his hair becomes spikier, his forehead has only three bangs over it, making his hair more defined than his other previous Super Saiyan forms. His muscles also become more defined, and his aura also generates electricity surrounding his body, while the aura grows markedly larger and more vibrant. Since gaining greater forms, Goku reserves this form for opponents he takes semi-seriously.

• Super Saiyan 3: Goku's strongest form in the original manga and anime. Goku achieved this level after years of training in Other World, where he could put unlimited energy into this form. In this form, his hair reaches down to his thighs and his eyebrows vanish completely while making the forehead and eye ridges larger and more prominent. His muscle mass grows noticeable larger more defined while his eyes gain green irises. His aura also becomes rounder with larger electrical sparks. Goku first used this form against Innocent Buu during the Majin Buu Saga, where he had a slight advantage over the Majin. However, this form is extremely draining in terms of energy due to the living world having less energy to siphon. This made him tire fast and even cut Goku's time left on Earth from hours to a mere thirty minutes after using this form for a short time. When attempting to gather enough energy to defeat Kid Buu, he was unable to sustain it as he had not taken into account the strain overcoming his living body, and soon reverted to his base state. Altogether, these heavy disadvantages make it impractical to use this form out of the afterlife and even more while alive.

Super Saiyan God: The "Super Saiyan God" is the legend among legends of the warrior race, the Saiyans. The power of six good-hearted Saiyans must be infused for one of them to achieve this legendary form. As Shenron explains to the Dragon Team and company, a Super Saiyan God once appeared on Planet Vegeta to stop the evil Saiyans but he failed because of the form's time limit. The Namekians were aware of the Super Saiyan God and wrote of the method to achieve the form in their book of legends. When in this form, the Saiyan's general appearance has only slight differences: the most notable change is the slight pink skin tone (similar to the usage of Fury) and hair that is a shade of red. In this form, Goku possesses magenta-red hair while Vegeta possesses crimson red hair. The hair retains its natural style but becomes more refined (losing any stray hairs). The Saiyan's eyes become more detailed, and the irises become red (appearing as more relaxed even in battle until sufficiently angered). The overall body structure appears to become younger and thinner in frame and build, though this is not the case for the Future Warrior and Shallot, as their musculature stays the same in their Super Saiyan God forms. The aura of the Super Saiyan God resembles a raging fire. At the time of its debut, Super Saiyan God was "a being that surpasses everything". The power of this form is great enough to allow Goku to compete against the non-fully powered God of Destruction Beerus, who effortlessly defeated Super Saiyan 3 Goku, later the combined effort of Potential Unleashed Gohan (Potential Unleashed Super Saiyan Gohan in the original movie), Good Buu, Piccolo, Android 18, Tien Shinhan, and Gotenks (Super Saiyan in the movie, Super Saiyan 3 in the manga, and base form in the anime), and even a one-on-one assault from a enraged Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta.

• • Saiyan Beyond God: After experiencing the power of Super Saiyan God, Goku learned to use the raw might and enhanced senses of this god-like power without transforming. When in this state, while his physical appearance remains unchanged, his ki can be manifested as a pure white aura. If Goku attempts to become a Super Saiyan while using this power, he will instead become Super Saiyan Blue.

• Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan: Super Saiyan Blue, also known as Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, is an extremely powerful transformation and a transcension of the Super Saiyan God form. By undertaking godly ki training with a deity to wield the power of Super Saiyan God in one's natural state, a Saiyan may achieve a divinity-empowered base form, which allows them to use Super Saiyan Blue as the Super Saiyan version of Super Saiyan God and surpass it in power. While Super Saiyan God can be easily achieved through a specialized ritual, Super Saiyan Blue has no such shortcuts and must be extensively trained in order to be used correctly. In Goku's words, this form is what happens when a "Saiyan with the power of a Super Saiyan God further transforms himself into a Super Saiyan". Simply, it is the first Super Saiyan form combined with the power and godly ki of a Super Saiyan God turned cyan blue, due to a mortal absorbing it. The form can be obtained by a Saiyan who has become a Super Saiyan God and then retained the power; if the Saiyan utilizes the might of Super Saiyan God and then attempts to transform into a Super Saiyan, they will instead naturally evolve into a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Super Saiyan Blue or Super Saiyan Rosé, depending on the individual's status). Alternatively, as shown in the anime and by Goku Black in the manga, the Saiyan can evolve their standard Super Saiyan form into a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form if they increase its strength until it surpasses Super Saiyan God.
  • Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken: Thanks to the Super Saiyan Blue form's great ki and emotional control, Goku can utilize Kaio-ken alongside it with far less risk. In this state, Goku gains a double aura, leaving Goku to appear as a basic Super Saiyan Blue with his blue over while a larger red aura surrounds it. Goku first used this against Hit in the Tournament of Destroyers. While using Kaio-ken levels too extreme for his body to handle, Goku's blue hair turns a pale blue that is whitish, and his skin is illuminated to a light red. In which case, it will gradually damage his body. This unstable state also will give Goku Delayed Onset Ki Disorder, sending Goku's ki into flux, making him unable to properly access his energy for a few days. By the Tournament of Power, Goku had mastered this technique up to x20 with no instability or strain.
  • Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Berserk): During the Universe Creation Saga, Fu infects Super Saiyan Blue Goku with Cumber's evil aura thus turning him into Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Berserk). In this form, Goku's might in Super Saiyan Blue becomes nearly useless due to losing all sense of reason and resorts to wild flailing attacks as opposed to using his highly toned martial arts prowess.

• Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Universe Tree Power): During the New Space-Time War Saga, Goku took on this state upon absorbing and then harnassing the power contained within the Universe Tree. This gave Goku the strength to finish off Fu once and for all.

• Ultra Instinct Sign: A state first attained during the Tournament of Power. Originally, in the anime, Goku did this by absorbing the energy of the Spirit Bomb as a bolster to break a mental shell in the subconscious to unlock a much deeper portion of his potential. In the manga, this state is the pinnacle of Goku's martial arts training; obtained from reflecting on Master Roshi's words and demonstration of proper movement, admitting to his shame in lack of personal growth and letting go of his self-doubt. With this, Goku's physical and mental parameters are vastly augmented, ranking among the most powerful entities in all the multiverse. His hair stands up somewhat, becoming wilder in shape with no loose strands. His eyes become more defined and sterner in shape, while also gaining silver irises. His aura becomes a complex silver with sparkle appearance. In this state, Goku's physical, mental, and energy parameters are vastly augmented, equally increasing his combat performance. He processes information far quicker and efficiently, letting him learn and adapt to all experiences. The highlight of this lets him automatically react to all threats in the most efficient way possible, even without consciously being aware of it. This augmented growth greatly accelerates his natural improvement, constantly imprinting on his experiences to become stronger, faster, and sharper in his actions with every skirmish. In the anime, entering this state also energize him and negate all previous wounds as a battered Goku showed against Kefla. However, initially usage of this state is random and unstable, only accessible for short periods of time and in the direst of situations. In the anime, by his fight against Kefla, while seemingly learning to access this state more willingly, as noted by Whis, Goku's usage is still incomplete. While his movements have become more refined, he struggles to switch his full attention on to his offense, inhibiting his attacks and techniques, requiring more time to build up energy for an assault to have sufficient power. The effort also appears to drain Goku quicker, returning him to his base form and in an exhausted state.
  • Ultra Instinct: Once understanding Whis' words behind self-movement, Goku learned to let go of all self-doubt and live in the moment. When fully synchronizing his impulses with his natural drive, Goku can subconsciously unlock the full potential of his offensive and defensive might. This culminates with Goku's silver glow consuming him, turning his hair silver and skin tone more ethereal in nature. The power in this form is vastly greater than his initial state that it completely shreds away his shirt (in the anime). In this state, Goku showed such fine control of his ki, able to calmly repel and contain any energy assault thrown at him. He can unleash barrages of his energy in focused shockwaves and cancel out all but the strongest of attacks. In addition, while accessing this state, Goku's body is full rejuvenated and, in the manga, can grow sturdier in areas in response to being attacked, even causing weaker foes to break their limbs trying to hit his body.

Other

Standard Tactics: Goku is a trained and gifted martial artists who has always kept the same tactics when entering battle. Goku will size up his opponent to see where their strengths and weaknesses lay, see how strong they are, and dish out various martial arts attacks and techniques to overwhelm his opponent. Goku will never immediately go all out from the start unless he fully needs to and will usually start with warm ups.

Weaknesses

• Standard Ki Weaknesses: Due to the nature of ki draining stamina and energy, Dragon Ball characters ki usage requires them to usually use their higher levels of energy in short bursts, using a large amount of ki overtime can greatly weaken them to the point that characters far lower then them can actually harm them with attacks. Taking large amounts of damage can greatly deplete a ki users attacks, making it where attacks that would otherwise kill massively weakened characters, only pushes them back. Ki users that are able to ki sense cannot do it when their guard is dropped, such as when Vegeta was able to sneak attack Son Goku during the end of their fight in the Buu Saga. Despite some ki users being able to reach blasts that can destroy planets through charged attacks or techniques, they have not shown to be able to tank such blasts themself, with attacks that have destroyed several planets in the series always killing the character. Even characters such as Majin Buu's body cannot withstand the energy of a planet exploding.
• Unique Weaknesses: Goku will not immediately go all out during a battle to size up his opponent and see how strong they are unless he openly needs too, making his guard low in some cases. Using Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken gives him an illness where he can't properly control his ki. If Goku uses ultra instinct for too long, black lightning will form around and cause him to feel massive pain, briefly knocking him out.

• Some clips used on the profile come from an anime or movie due to the fact that some abilities from ki use shouldn't function much differently from how they can in canon, along with this sometimes the anime version/video game version of a scene will be used for cleaner visuals. • The speed scaling for PLs are taken with a grain of salt as there are noticeable times where someone's speed isn't equal to their power, such as Burter being faster then Recoome and Jeice, along with Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks having his power greatly increased but his speed decreased.
• This is not Xeno Goku, the timepatroller. This is a Goku that went through the events of several movies and Dragon Ball Super (Up to Tournament of Power).
