Background
Carrie Fernandez is a playable character in Castlevania and Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness. Her backstory and main quest are nearly identical in both games, though her availability differs.
In Castlevania 64, Carrie is one of the two main protagonists, alongside Reinhardt Schneider, and is playable from the start. Her storyline follows her efforts to fight against Dracula's forces using her unique abilities.
In Legacy of Darkness, Carrie also serves as a protagonist, but she must first be unlocked. During Henry’s quest, players can rescue one of the missing children to make her available as a playable character.
This dropdown contains the synopsis of Carrie Fernandez’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise! |
---|
Early Life Over time, Carrie's unusual abilities began to surface, prompting her foster mother to uncover records linking her to the Fernandez family. As Dracula's influence spread across Europe once more, fear gripped Wallachia. His minions began terrorizing villages, and when they attacked Carrie's home, her foster mother sacrificed herself to protect the young girl. Watching her foster mother die awakened Carrie's latent magical powers, enabling her to destroy the creatures and escape. The loss of her foster mother, on top of her parents' deaths, deepened Carrie's bitterness and drove her to reject adults and God completely. Two years later, news of Castlevania's reappearance reached her ears. Determined to stop Dracula and end his reign of terror, Carrie set off for the vampire lord’s stronghold. Along her journey, she crossed paths with two holy knights, Henry Oldrey and Reinhardt Schneider, and joined their mission. Resolute in her decision, Carrie vowed to use her magic to destroy Dracula and his forces, declaring, "Whatever awaits, I have no regrets!" Castlevania 64/Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness Two characters stand out in her adventure. The first is Malus, a young boy who, after his family was attacked by Dracula's demons, finds himself lost in the Villa's Garden Maze. Carrie helps him escape the maze, but she doesn't expect to see him again. The second is Actrise, a witch Carrie meets just before entering the Castle Center. While Carrie's adoptive mother sacrificed her life to protect Carrie, Actrise sacrificed her own child to achieve immortality. Actrise tries to persuade Carrie to join her in serving the dark forces, but Carrie refuses, determined to fight against the evil that threatens her world. In the vast Castle Center, Carrie and Reinhardt are forced to solve numerous puzzles and battle a Behemoth monster, but the most unsettling event is yet to come. Malus appears again, having somehow made his way into the heart of the castle. When Carrie attempts to question him, Malus speaks cryptically before running further into the castle, leaving Carrie confused and unsettled. Shortly afterward, she encounters Actrise again before boarding an elevator to the Tower of Science. Actrise introduces the Fernandez warrior, a relative from the Sypha Belnades bloodline who had set out to destroy Dracula but was captured and turned into a vampire. After struggling with her curse, the warrior's will faltered, leaving her desperate for human blood. A fierce battle between the two ensues, with Carrie ultimately emerging victorious. With a heavy heart, she vows to ensure Dracula's destruction and speaks of her belief that her mother will be reunited with Camilla in heaven. Carrie and Reinhardt continue their journey, overcoming technological threats in the Tower of Science and magical traps in the Tower of Sorcery. Atop the Room of Clocks, Carrie faces Actrise in another battle. After learning of Actrise's horrific past, where she had sacrificed her own daughter as part of her allegiance to Dracula, Carrie declares her "pathetic" and defeats her in battle. Despite Actrise's powerful dark magic, Carrie proves to be the stronger combatant. Carrie also realizes that Dracula likely used Actrise to delay her progress and vows that she will never forgive him for the suffering he has caused. After overcoming the challenges in the Clock Tower, Carrie and Reinhardt reach the Castle Keep, where they confront Dracula. The battle is surprisingly quick, with the two easily defeating him. Much like Reinhardt, Carrie has two possible endings depending on how long the player takes to complete the game. If the player reaches the Castle Keep in less than ten days (in-game time), they will see the "Good Ending." If more than ten days pass, the player will see the "Bad Ending." While Carrie and Reinhardt's quests are separate during the game, the prologue to Cornell's journey suggests that their attacks on the castle occurred simultaneously, implying they worked together to finally bring down Dracula. Bad Ending Good Ending Carrie pursues him to the top of the Clock Tower, where he reveals his true identity as the resurrected Dracula. The vampire she had defeated earlier in the Castle Keep was merely one of Dracula's servants, Gilles de Rais, disguised as the Count to divert attention from Malus. Malus transforms into the adult form of Dracula. After a fierce confrontation, Carrie defeats him, causing him to revert back to his child form. In an attempt to deceive her, he pretends to have forgotten everything that occurred. At this moment, Charlie Vincent arrives and exposes Malus' deception by throwing holy water on him. In a fit of rage, Dracula transports himself and Carrie to another dimension, where he reveals his monstrous true form in one last attempt to destroy her. With the power of her magic and her unshakable resolve, Carrie defeats Dracula once and for all. After his defeat, she is returned to her dimension and witnesses the castle sink into the lake. Finally, with her quest complete, Carrie finds solace at her mother's grave, where she lays flowers in remembrance. |
Personality
- Determined to Fufill Her Goals: Carrie will not give up on her goals until Dracula is defeated, as she cannot accept children living in terror as long as he exists[1]. This goes as far as her even being willing to fight and kill her cousin being saddened by being unable to save her but being noting once she destroys Dracula, her cousin will be in heaven[2].
- Hates being talked down to: Carrie does not like being treated like a child, viewing her mission as important enough to where she should be shown respect[3]. This is shown during her conversation with Charlie Vincent where he states she would not be able to take on Dracula and she tells him he presumes too much and not to speak of matters that do not concern him[4].
- Nice to Children: Carrie has a natural maternal instinct to children, such as her going out of her way to help Malus out of the forest[5]. Along with refusing to leave the castle until Dracula is defeated, as she cannot accept children living in terror as long as he exists[6].

Golem with his ultimate can shoot out a mouth blast that vaporizes everything it touches as far as the eye can see getting these results[27]. Can harm and fight against enemies stronger than characters who can take hits from neutron bomb[28], that have a yield range of 1-10 kilotons of TNT), Far Higher with Sheer Will (Simon claims that the Belmonts and Morrises did not defeat Dracula because of the Vampire Killer, with the reason behind heroes' capacity to fight against evil lying not in their physical strength but the noble desire to drive away evil and usher in all that is good, the desire to protect the world for all of humanity, with the courage to fight to protect others being the true essence of a hero and a Belmont's strength, with this even applying for other heroes such as Shanoa, Maria, Charlotte, and even Arikado[29])

Showcases an innate knowledge in astrology, being able to easily solve a puzzle based around it[44])
Powers and Techniques
The Castle Abilities Include:
Reality Warping (The Castle does not work on standard logic, where changing rooms can have one view a completely different background[86], such as room with a blue sky that is reflecting up and downwards and having the cloud srotate at a fast speed[87]), Transmutation (Beings that come near are subject to the castle's influence, such as a local barnyard owl which was mutated just from flying near it[88]), Possession (The castle possesses objects with its magic, such as a ouija table[89]), Sealing (Dracula's magic captured Aguni, a primitive god of fire[90]. The Castle has doors sealed off without solving puzzles[91]. This can extend to walls being sealed off where explosions will not affect it until the seal is gone[92]), Mind Manipulation (Everything that enters the castle is under the control by the power of Dracula's castle[93], the ghost of Eric Lecarde needed to cast a magic barrier to bind himself so he could be free from the control of the castle[94]. The Castle corrupts the minds of those who enter it, such as making Maxim Kischine feel strange ever since coming to it[95]. It also corrupted the mind of Hugh turning him against Nathan with Nathan noting he's being controlled by Dracula[96]. The castle increases one's dark desires, allowing Dracula to easily control them[97]. The magic of Dracula's power that empowers the owl enemy also spurs it to violence[98]), Madness Manipulation (The Castle warped Gergoth, a once-gentle beast and drove it mad[99]), Size Manipulation (Magically enlarged a toad through the use of demonic baptism[100]), Fear Manipulation (Even while far away, Curtis and Michelle felt malicious intent from the castle where their bodies seemed to squeal "run away"[101]. Michelle even being at the entrance to the castle had her body telling her to not go in and her leg muscles being petrified like stone[102]), Curse Manipulation (The Curse status that spirits inflict[103] comes from them absorbing the magic power around the castle. The Castle cursed a human to turn into a lizard man[104]), Life Manipulation (The castle can bring inanimate statues to life to attack[105]. Can cause the glass murals to come to life and attack[106]), Soul Manipulation (Those that die in the castle become one of the floating spirits that wander the halls of the castle for eternity[107]), Abstract Manipulation & Hell Manipulation (The castle can create a core of evil made from hatred, envy, anger and other dark emotions[108]), Text Manipulation & Plot Manipulation (The vital souls are noted to be apart of the Castle's power[109], where is noted by Lucy that the "vital soul" of a monster is the cause of the grimoire chaos[110] where creatures of the night's dark powers allowed them to rewrite the Grimoires to strengthen their dark powers greatly[111], along with their vital souls causing the grimoires contents to be overwritten changing history to things such as Jonathan Morris is now at a disadvantage in battle[112], or Charlotte fading from existence due to them messing with the history of the Grimoires[113], Maria starting to fade because Richter's history is being rewritten[114], where if the contents of the book change the creatures magic will keep growing and eventually overflow into reality, causing the grimoire to fall into chaos and even more monsters materializing into the real world[115]. The text alterations also make the monsters stronger[116]. With the real world and world of grimoires being one and the same[117], compared to the like of Brauner's painting worlds that are quantum multi-layered spaces requiring understandings of theories such as "Curse Amplification"[118]. Death was going to use Dracula's magic to rewrite Dracula's defeat to Trevor making it where Dracula defeats Trevor Belmont instead where Dracula would go on living in the rewritten grimoire with each grimoire being its own world and the grimoires influence extends into reality[119]), Law Manipulation (The vital souls are noted to be apart of the Castle's power[120], which alter grimoires, which do not adhere to the laws of reality[121]), Power Modification (The vital souls are noted to be apart of the Castle's power[122], which the vital souls cause alterations of the Grimoire that can greatly limit the powers of those far stronger than them, such as Jonathan Morris' power being limited due to the alterations[123]. The Chaos of the Grimoire destabilized the magic of the others[124])Is a Creature of the Night, which gives:
Superhuman Physical Characteristics (Even the smallest creatures of the night can destroy a bridge[147], one of Dracula's bats easily destroyed a stone ground block[148]), Intimidation (Creatures of the nights appearances can cause one to have their body's cells cry out in terror[149]), Immortality (Ageless; The biggest hindrance to humans when attempting to accomplish something is their limited lifespans, a limitation that cannot be overcome, however, dwellers of the darkness do not apply to the laws of the human world, ignoring such limitations[150]. Immortal Metaphysical Aspect; Creatures of the Night can continue to exist even as a spirit and use their spirit form to form bodies out of inanimate material around them[151]), Acausality (Causality Immunity; All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[152]. With their souls being completely free from time[153]. The biggest hindrance to humans when attempting to accomplish something is their limited lifespans, a limitation that cannot be overcome, however, dwellers of the darkness do not apply to the laws of the human world, ignoring such limitations[154]), Free Will (Creatures of the Night do not follow the hand of God and instead choose of their own free will[155]), Empowerment (Creatures of the night are empowered by the night[156], becoming stronger when it's night time[157]), Evolution (Creatures of chaos can inherit evil natures[158] awakening into stronger enemies with new abilities and less weaknesses[159]), Resurrection (Self-Resurrection; Creatures of chaos can be brought back to life from the power of hate[160]. This has also been shown with slain heads reviving as an angry wraith[161]), Regeneration (Mid-Godly overtime; Even the castle from Castlevania is a Creature of Chaos[162], where they are always rebirth from Chaos with each rebirth, the creatures takes a new form[163], with this state being referred to as a "regeneration cycle"[164]), Invisibility (Creatures of Chaos possess a natural aura of darkness, which makes one unable to see those with an aura of darkness by the naked eye[165]), Time Manipulation (Passive; All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[166]), Darkness Manipulation & Subjective Reality (Creatures of chaos very existence causes dark powers to flow beyond the control of the Elgos' grimoires, due to them collecting documented information on Dracula and his castle. Causing their power to materialize in the real world in the form of monsters[167]. With the real world and world of grimoires being one and the same[168], compared to the like of Brauner's painting worlds that are quantum multi-layered spaces requiring understandings of theories such as "Curse Amplification"[169]), Text Manipulation & Plot Manipulation (Passive; Creatures of the night's dark powers allowed them to rewrite the Grimoires to strengthen their dark powers greatly[170]. It is noted by Lucy that the "vital soul" of a monster is the cause of the grimoire chaos[171]. Their vital souls are causing the grimoires contents to be overwritten changing history to things such as Jonathan Morris is now at a disadvantage in battle[172], or Charlotte fading from existence due to them messing with the history of the Grimoires[173], Maria starting to fade because Richter's history is being rewritten[174], where if the contents of the book change the creatures magic will keep growing and eventually overflow into reality, causing the grimoire to fall into chaos and even more monsters materializing into the real world[175]. The text alterations also make the monsters stronger[176]. With the real world and world of grimoires being one and the same[177], compared to the like of Brauner's painting worlds that are quantum multi-layered spaces requiring understandings of theories such as "Curse Amplification"[178]), Law Manipulation (Creatures of Chaos can alter grimoires, which do not adhere to the laws of reality[179]), Power Modification (Creatures of the night alterations of the Grimoire can greatly limit the powers of those far stronger than them, such as Jonathan Morris' power being limited due to the alterations[180]. The Chaos of the Grimoire destabilized the magic of the others[181]).

Superhuman Physical Characteristics (Vampires are considered far larger threats than standard creature of the night monsters[192]), Stealth Mastery (Vampires are able to attack stealthily in search of human blood[193]), Disguise Mastery (Vampires will sometimes disguise themselves[194] as villages in order to get near one[195]), Immortality (Ageless; Vampires defy God's decree that life should be limited, and exist for eternity[196], with Mathias noting he has eternal life[197]. Aeon notes that vampires exist for eternity[198]. Walter is noted to be a vampire that has eternal life[199]. The biggest hindrance to humans when attempting to accomplish something is their limited lifespans, a limitation that cannot be overcome, however, dwellers of the darkness do not apply to the laws of the human world, ignoring such limitations[200]. Immortal Metaphysical Aspect; Vampires will someday come back to life despite them being killed due to being immortal[201]), Acausality (Causality Immunity; All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[202]. With their souls being completely free from time[203]. The biggest hindrance to humans when attempting to accomplish something is their limited lifespans, a limitation that cannot be overcome, however, dwellers of the darkness do not apply to the laws of the human world, ignoring such limitations[204]), Free Will (Vampires do not follow the hand of God and instead choose of their own free will[205], defying God's decree[206]), Enhanced Senses (Vampires can smell that Reinhardt Schneider and Carrie Fernandez smell different from the usual adventurer[207]), Surface Scaling (Vampires can stand on ceilings[208]), Flight (Vampires can either naturally levitate grow wings to fly[209], turn into a bat[210], or into mist[211]), Immersion (Vampires can infuse magic into paintings to increase their power[212]), Empowerment (Vampires are loved by the night, making them so powerful that vampires like Walter Bernhard never been defeated before Leon Belmont gained the vampire killer[213]. Noted by Leon that the night should help Joachim Armster as well due to him being a vampire, with the only reason it doesn't is due to Walter holding the ebony stone[214]), Resurrection (Even if one somehow manages to kill a vampire, they will someday come back to life despite them being killed due to being immortal[215]), Transformation (Shapeshifting; Vampires can assume the shape of a wolf, a bat or fog[216]. Vampires can disguise themselves as huamns[217]), Teleportation (Vampires possess the ability to teleport freely[218]. Even non-threatening vampires such as Rosa, fade out from view[219]), Power Suppression (Vampires can submerge their own vampiric powers if needed[220]), Life-Force Absorption (Vampires can consume one's lifeforce[221], allowing them to heal themselves through biting into a victim[222]), Vampirification (Vampires can turn others into vampires[223], Walter turned Rinaldo's daughter into a vampire[224]), Invisibility (Vampires possess natural aura of darkness, which makes one unable to see those with an aura of darkness by the naked eye[225]), Time Manipulation (Passive; All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[226]), Animal Manipulation (Bats serve under the control of vampires[227], being freely spawnned by any vampire[228]), Cloth Manipulation (A vampire's blood can transform clothes, such as Hector combining a vampire's blood with a prince's clothes to get Dracula's clothes[229]), Electricity Manipulation (Vampires can sometimes have electricity form around them as they transform[230]), Soul Manipulation (The candles in Castlevania are people's souls that were taken by Death or by vampires[231]), Text Manipulation & Plot Manipulation (Passive; Vampire's dark powers allowed them to rewrite the Grimoires to strengthen their dark powers greatly[232]. It is noted by Lucy that the "vital soul" of a monster is the cause of the grimoire chaos[233]. Their vital souls are causing the grimoires contents to be overwritten changing history to things such as Jonathan Morris is now at a disadvantage in battle[234], or Charlotte fading from existence due to them messing with the history of the Grimoires[235], Maria starting to fade because Richter's history is being rewritten[236], where if the contents of the book change the creatures magic will keep growing and eventually overflow into reality, causing the grimoire to fall into chaos and even more monsters materializing into the real world[237]. The text alterations also make the monsters stronger[238]. With the real world and world of grimoires being one and the same[239], compared to the like of Brauner's painting worlds that are quantum multi-layered spaces requiring understandings of theories such as "Curse Amplification"[240]), Law Manipulation (Vampires can alter grimoires, which do not adhere to the laws of reality[241]), Power Modification (Vampire's alterations of the Grimoire can greatly limit the powers of those far stronger than them, such as Jonathan Morris' power being limited due to the alterations[242]. The Chaos of the Grimoire destabilized the magic of the others[243]).

Notable Techniques
- Homing Energy Bullet: An energy bullet that Carrie can hold down and shoot out, homing in on the target. It gives her an innate lock-on feature so that the attack will always home onto the target.
Standard Vampire Techniques
Other
Standard Tactics: Carrie will utilize her homing energy bullet in combat, where it can hit a target even if she's faced away from them[261], along with using the sub-weapon that best suits the situation.
Weaknesses
- Vamp Status Weaknesses: If inflicted with the vamp status, one is unable to use health restoration items and do distance attacks, then after a certain period of time one will become a vampire, corrupting them[262].
- Unique Weaknesses: Carrie's stubborness would technically count as a weakness as no matter what, she will see to her goal of destroying Dracula, allowing in the bad ending for Dracula to trick her into thinking she destroyed him[263].
- Creature of the Night Weaknesses: Creatures of the night become weaker when exposed to the morning sun[264]. Garlic significantly weakens creatures of the night[265], and causes demons to die if its placed on the ground[266]. If a vital soul is defeated, the grimoire will revert back to its original content[267].
- Standard Vampire Weaknesses: After a vampire is sufficiently weakened, the sunlight can kill them[268]. Otherwise Vampires can stand out in the sunlight just fine[269]. Though some weaker vampires can have the sun burn them overtime, killing them[270]. Oak Stakes are able to break through the magic of a weakened vampire[271]. Defeating a vampire will stop the effects of someone they have bitten, but only before they've turned[272]. This is shown in Harmony of Dissonance where through Juste killing Dracula's Wraith, the bite marks on Lydie have vanished[273]. Vampires reflections do not appear on mirrors, making them easier to identify[274].
Note
- Contrary to popular belief, holy attacks and the whips in Castlevania can affect and harm people that aren't apart of the creatures of the night. Leon's doppelganger can use holy water and holy attacks against him in this fight along with the alchemy whip despite Leon being a pure and noble warrior[275]. Simon's doppelganger can harm him with the vampire killer, despite Simon being a noble hero. Holy Water even works and harms enemies such as the "Holy Armor"[276], a knight who has natural holy powers[277]. Corrupted enemies such as Charlie Vincent, use holy water attacks on Carrie and Reinhardt[278].
- While vampires have some weakness to sunlight and can burn overtime in them[279], higher tier vampires[280], can stand out in the sunlight just fine[281] without being weakened. It should also be noted even with Dhamphir's like Alucard, in original lore, he was considered a full vampire yet could stand out in the sunlight perfectly fine.
Miscellaneous Feats
Trivia
- Carrie's story went through multiple rewrites. Originally she was called "Carrie Eastfield" and at some point her surname have been changed to "Belnades" only to be changed to "Fernandez" in the final game.
- Carrie's cousin, who she fights in the Castle Center, was originally supposed to be a revived Sypha Belnades from Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. Later, she was renamed to "Camilla Belnades", but in the final game, she is nameless.
- Despite Carrie's name not being "Belnades" and instead "Fernandez", both of these are actually the same meaning in the Castlevania series. Juste Belmont and the Belmont Clan is noted that their magic powers partly derive from the Fernandez Clan[284], which the main magic clan member that married a Belmont was Sypha Belnades who married and Trevor Belmont and had kids with him. This makes Carrie a Belnades.
- Interestingly, despite Carrie being a Belnades, she is not given the Belnades staff, which is noted to be a staff passed down to the Belnades Clan. However, this is likely due to Carrie having a step-mother who wasn't an official Belnades, making her never get the staff.
- Carrie's personal level in Castlevania 64 is the Tower of Sorcery. She also received the Tower of Science as her personal level, which originally belonged to the cut character, Coller.
- Carrie's early story was that she was feared and ostracized by the other villagers due to her supernatural powers, which she used for peaceful purposes such as making flowers bloom in the winter. Supposedly, she ventured into Dracula's Castle believing that she was cursed by Dracula and that he could unlock her full potential.
- Despite being a Belnades, Carrie is powerful enough to be able to take on Dracula on her own[285], with her power being noted by the likes of Actrise. This is interesting since Belnades such as Sypha Belnades couldn't even get far into Dracula's Castle before being turned to stone. With this in mind, Carrie would be on of the most powerful Belnades, being second to the likes of Charlotte Aulin and potentially Yoko Belnades.
- It is interesting that Carrie has Maria Renard's Rondo of Blood outfit as her alternate outfit as both of them share similarities. Both characters are 12 during their respective games, both are noted to possess mighty magical powers by an underling of Dracula, both dislike being treated as a kid, and both have had their parents killed by Dracula and mention their parents watching over them in heaven.
- To unlock Carrie as a playable character in Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness, the player has to find Bess during Henry's quest. She can be found in the Castle Wall, in a section with no floor when the player enters the castle gate. At the four rotating spiked platforms there will be a ledge with the child in the center.
- To unlock Carrie's alternate costume, after finding Bess the player has to find Florence during Henry's quest. She's found in the Outer Wall. After riding the first platform up, you will find yourself under a small decorative overhang; if you jump to the edge jutting out from the arch, you will be right next to the child.

- ↑ Akumajo Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku "From the time they stepped into the mountains, Curtis and Michelle felt malicious intent in the air.
Even though it is still far away, their bodies seemed to squeal [run away].
There was definitely no room for doubt. It is certain that the [castle] exists at the back of the mountains. The church’s greatest vampire hunter, Julius Belmont must be contacted. However, the conversation jumped into the matter of the disappearance of several village children." - ↑ Akumajo Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku "A drawbridge suspended from the main gate is seemingly welcoming Michelle’s arrival.
And her body was telling her [do not go] as her leg muscles were petrified like stone." - ↑ Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls

- ↑ Akumajo Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku "“Uh……aa……Mi……chelle……”
That really is no doubt an obsession.
The youth had more than 28 holes penetrating his limbs and body. His heart is already starting to fail and he is desperately trying to say something amidst the darkness.
“Only…… protect…… you……-----“
When he said those words he must say, the man’s soul already left his body-----becoming one of the floating spirits that wander the halls of the castle.
However-----
Fate did not allow it.
For those people who are involved with the demon castle, even the loneliness of death seemed half hearted-----
The man’s soul is pierced by a small scythe that flew in from somewhere. That scythe did not exist physically. It was a diabolic blade created by some magic and possessed a strong soul." - ↑ Castlevania: Curse of Darkness Bestiary No. 115

A spectacled vampire hunter confirmed this as his duty.
In front of him is a [grotesque creature] whose dreadful power can be felt. The creature appears human but the instant he looked at it, all of his body’s cells cried out in terror.
“The timing is bad, church person.”
Whilst listening to the words said by the [grotesque creature], the young hunter kept on reminding himself.

- ↑ Akumajo Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku "Ever since the Middle Ages, every 100 years, this legendary castle would rise together with its master Count Dracula ----- And whenever it happens, it is said that a clan of vampire hunters will seal it.
Several hundred years have passed with battles with the [dark lord] Dracula.
When suddenly, an end to it all has been foretold. 1999----- Thanks to the power of a clan in Japan, Dracula’s castle was sealed inside a [solar eclipse] to disappear forever.
However, in this world, there is no such thing as forever. [They] had understood that Dracula’s regeneration cycle ought to have ended. Indeed, people have prepared for this but will it still exist? The castle is the symbol of the chaos within humans and as long as people exist, it will not be completely sealed. - ↑ Castlevania: Lament of Innocence Bestiary No. 064

- ↑ WN: Last question. Why does Dracula keep putting meat inside the walls of his castle?
KI: You should ask, why do they eat it! I've thought about this stuff.
I've actually thought about the candles. The candles are people's souls that were taken by Death or by the vampires. In Japan there are candles that represent life. So, when you release the souls from the candles by whipping them, they give you a "thank you" present. Thank-you hearts, or thank-you holy water.
The meat, I have no idea. - ↑ Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls Prologue Stage 4
