General Information
Origin: Dragon Ball
Sex: Male
Age: 52 years old, physically 45
Classification: Alien
Species: Saiyan
Occupation: None
Status: Alive
Alignment: Chaotic Good (Goku, as per his nature as a Saiyan, seeks a good fight more than he seeks to preserve peace. Although he does value peace greatly and will fight for it, he has a knack for stretching out fights simply to make them more entertaining for himself despite the risks that come with it, such as when he allowed for Frieza to reach his final form, gave Cell a Senzu Bean, or refrained from using Super Saiyan 3 against Majin Vegeta)
Codex Statistics
Tier: At least 6-C, Higher with Biting, Far Higher in Super Saiyan Transformations, Much Higher with Strongest Charged Blast
Cardinality: Finite
Dimensionality: 3-D
Power Source: Ki (All beings in Dragon Ball[1][2][3] have ki, the very life force energy of all characters[4], ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even[5] block attacks that would otherwise[6] kill them from[7] raising their guard[8], higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them[9])
Attack Potency: At least Island level (Should be superior to himself in the Buu Saga, due to having trained for seven years straight since, and then five more years on top of that), Higher in Super Saiyan 1, 2, & 3 (The Super Saiyan transformations increases his power to far higher levels), Much Higher with Strongest Charged Blast (His strongest charged blast by this point should be superior to Super Perfect Cell's solar kamehameha which is shown that if it succeeded, it would've destroyed the entire planet)
Durability: At least Island level, Higher in Super Saiyan Transformations, Far Higher with Guard Up (Ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even block attacks that would otherwise kill them from raising their guard), Lower with Ki Control (Higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them)
Striking Strength: At least Island Class, Higher in Super Saiyan Transformations
Lifting Strength: At least Class 25 (Able to casually fight while carrying 8 tons. Comparable to Vegeta, who trained in 300 times gravity, where Vegeta is naturally 56 kg, making him 16,800 kg or 16.8 tons), Class 50 as Super Saiyan (Could casually fight while carrying 40 tons), Far Higher as Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan 3
Travel Speed: Relativistic (Far superior to Super Saiyan Gotenks who flew around the earth a few dozen times in this time frame. Superior to Super Saiyan Son Goku on Namek, who previously in his base form traveled from Frieza's ship over to Vegeta in this timeframe), Higher with Super Saiyan forms
Attack Speed: Relativistic (Can react to foes far beyond 22nd Budokai Son Goku, who could dodge a mouth blast from Tambourine, which he used to tag the flying nimbus where even post King Kai training Goku used the flying nimbus to make it to the saiyans implying it is at least comparable to his flight speed by then, with Goku being capable of traveling over a million of kilometers in two days which results in these speeds), Higher with Super Saiyan forms
Reaction Speed: At least At most Relativistic, Higher with Super Saiyan forms (Reaches far higher levels of speed with each super saiyan transformation)
Stamina: Superhuman
Range: Standard Melee, Interstellar with Ki Attacks (Ki attacks can reach out of the planet and to other planets. All ki attacks should be comparable to Goku's kamehameha, which reached all the way to the sun), Cross-Universal with Instant Transmission (Instant Transmission. Can forcibly send his opponent to other places such as heaven)
Intelligence: At least Below Average, possibly Above Average academics wise (While training with Master Roshi he learned about Math & Calculus, though Goku has displayed he can’t count beyond 18 after being explained to him what comes after 18 he was able to quickly count past it, along with this he has shown to have better understanding academically of situations), Genius Intelligence combat wise (Copies a kamehameha after seeing it once, which is supposed to take 50 years to learn according to Roshi, copied Master Roshi’s ultimate technique the afterimage after seeing it done, could copy Tien’s solar flare and his flying technique and could copy the demon clan’s air ki techniques. Goku is an incredibly skilled fighter to the point that he is able to easily outskill trained Martial Artists such as Krillin and Yamcha and match prodigies such as Tien and even nearly beat his Master, Roshi, after training with him for a few months)
Powers and Techniques
Chi Manipulation & Ki Manipulation (All beings in Dragon Ball[42][43][44] have ki, the very life force energy of all characters[45], ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even[46] block attacks that would otherwise[47] kill them from[48] raising their guard[49], higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them[50]), Aura (Projection; A users ki aura can exert itself[51] as a weapon to attack[52]. Explosive; Ki users through powering up can form an entire aura around themself, radiating their immense power[53], where depending on their immense strength, can cause them to explode their aura outwards to remove excess ki from themself[54]. Mood Reflection; Goku and Piccolo Jr. with their auras and their stern concentration on each other reflected in their electric auras, even shooting electricity at each other[55]), Emotional Empowerment (It's noted that ki users can receive energy through one cheering them on[56]. Ki users can be greatly increased by their emotions and beliefs, Son Goku explains that Son Gohan needs to remember the time he fought Cell and bring out all of the power he has, this way he can lose to no one[57] where it's shown during the Cell beam clash that he was holding back greatly out of fear of destroying the earth but from being cheered on and using all of his power within him, he was able to overpower Cell[58]), Attack Reflection (All Ki users are able to reflect attacks just by being stronger than their opponent[59]. Examples include, Nappa deflecting a masenko from Son Gohan[60], Son Gohan being able to bounce back the spirit bomb[61], Son Goku deflecting a crusher ball from Jeice[62], Frieza deflecting a Final Burst Cannon from Vegeta[63], Son Goku reflecting multiple death beams back to back from Frieza[64], and Future Trunks being able to completely repel an energy blast with his hand from a Frieza Soldier just by being much stronger than them[65]), Homing Attack (Ki users can create attacks that will home in and chase a target forever[66]), Penetration Damage (Bladed Penetration; Ki users can conjure up a circle of chi that is sharp and can cut through enemies far more powerful then themselves[67][68], along with this they can conjure ki as a means to stab through an opponent[69]), Weapon Creation (Ki users can create energy weapons out of their attacks[70]), Power Absorption & Energy Transferal (Ki users can transfer their ki to others and absorb the ki given to them from others[71]), Attack Nullification (Ki Energy Based; Those with ki can nullify attacks of lesser ki with their ki alone[72][73]. They can also catch and nullify ki attacks around their level through focusing enough[74]), Power Nullification (Ki Energy Based; Through having greater ki, one can nullify the powers done through ki attacks, such as Frieza being able to nullify a hakai ball[75], which fully destroys a target[76], though he is unable to resist a hakai ball from Toppo due to him being stronger[77], this ability however only works on ki, attacks unrelated, characters cannot resist through being stronger, such as how Vegeta, Krillin, & Son Gohan are unable to resist Guldo's psychic powers[78], along with even the likes of Son Goku[79]), Forcefield Creation (Ki users such as Cell can generate forcefields around themselves[80]. These forcefields can be expanded[81], and used to protect others and defend against attacks far higher then the user[82]), Super Armor (Through releasing one's ki, they enter a state known as "Hyper Mode"[83], in this state they do not flinch from weak melee attacks[84]), Self-Destruction (Ki users in Dragon Ball are able to[85] release all of the energy within them[86] to cause a massive[87] self-destruction of energy that normally kills the user and turns them into dust[88] though one can control it to surviving but having no stamina or energy left[89]), Binding (Energy Binding; Ki Users can use their ki to bind targets to objects, making them unable to escape even if they're of equal power[90], however, those stronger than the ki user can easily break out of it[91]), Dreaming Existence (Characters in Shin Budokai have shown to create physical bodies in alternate timelines through dreaming[92]), Non-Standard Interaction (Intangible Interaction; Those with ki can block intangible attacks when they focus and notices them[93]. Space-Time Interaction (3+1-D); Characters can blast space-time distortions to close them[94]), Healing (Healing Singular Targets, Advanced Healing; Ki can be used to heal beings, allowing them to survive even with half their torso[95], it can also heal from near death[96]), Resurrection (Resurrection of the Deceased (Limited); Ki users can resurrect ones heart from death if their ki beams hit their heart, restarting it[97]. Resurrection from Exhaustion; Can heal downed allies to give them ki back, reviving them[98]), Intimidation & Spirit Manipulation (Ki is the manifestation of one’s lifeforce[99], along with the aura giving one the feeling of being crushed[100], exerting fear[101] into the target, sometimes making them incapable of moving as their[102] body is instinctively stuck due to the sheer difference in power[103]), Link Manipulation & Mind Manipulation (Characters can link their ki together and train within each other’s mind enacting in image training[104]), Vibration Manipulation (Seismic Vibration Manipulation; Ki users can transfer their ki into an object and cause it to vibrate and shake greatly[105]. Powerful ki users can cause the very ground itself to shake when they power up[106]), Electricity Manipulation (Unknown Voltage; Powerful Ki users can generate electricity around their aura that can outright electrocute their opponents[107], Goku and Piccolo Jr. showcased being able to utilize their aura as pure electricity during their clash[108]), Weather Manipulation (Powerful Ki users can generate entire storms through merely powering up alone, Nappa used this in order to conjure the electricity from the storm[109]. Goku showcases this when he first turns super saiyan, causing a massive lightning storm in the background[110]), Energy Manipulation (Ki is the latent power in one's body, this latent power allows them to form and create energy from controlling their ki, which can be used to shoot out energy blast[111]), Explosion Manipulation (Ki attacks can create massive explosions[112], or control the ki to set off a huge explosion under the enemy[113], or in front of them[114]), Heat Manipulation (At least 100 C; Ki user's ki attacks produce heat allowing them to cook and grill animals and raw meat[115][116], along with leaving behind steam after the attacks hit an area, showing its latent heat. Ki users electricity aura can burn objects that touch it[117]), Light Manipulation (Ki can be used as a flash of light[118][119][120][121][122][123][124][125][126], Degisu seeing ki attacks be fired notes that the characters are "firing light from their hands"[127]).
Limited Resistance to Durability Negation (Ki users can focus their energy to localize an object to a specific spot to stop them from attempting to destroy their organs/insides[128]), Resistance to Poison Manipulation (Can resist poisons through Forcefield Creation[129])
Equipment
- Power Pole: A red magical staff originally owned by Korin and eventually was inherited by Goku. One of the only heirlooms from his adopted Grandpa Gohan, it became a signature tool for Goku throughout his childhood. Extremely durable and resilient, it is blessed with the unique power to extend and retract to vast lengths at the user's will. Apart from aid in fighting, the Power Pole also serves as the only non-flying means to reach The Lookout.
- Flying Nimbus: A mystic yellow cloud. Originally a gift from Master Roshi, after it was destroyed by Tambourine, Goku received a replacement from Korin, who created them. It is a blazingly fast cloud that can carry its traveler wherever the rider wishes and also be summoned from seemingly anywhere on Earth. However, the cloud will only carry those voids of any negative thoughts. All others will instantly pass through it like any cloud.
- Dragon Radar: An invention of Bulma made to track down Dragon Balls. While Goku and other people can sense the Dragon Balls' energy in a general area, the Dragon Radar can pinpoint their exact location from across the entire planet. This let Goku and his friends track all the Dragon Balls within days rather than years, or hours with teleportation.
- Gill: Gill, originally known as T2006 or DB4649T2006RS, is a Machine Mutant that accompanies Goku, Pan, and Trunks on their quest to find the Black Star Dragon Balls. After eating the Dragon Radar, the radar itself appears on Giru's back.
Notable Techniques
- Rock, Scissors 'N' Paper: A technique taught to Goku by Grandpa Gohan which employs one of three attack styles; either a closed-fist assault, a two-finger jabbing assault, or an open-palm thrust assault. It was Goku's signature attack early on during his childhood, soon afterwards being replaced with the Kamehameha.
- Tail Attack: A technique used by those who have tail in order to attack their opponents. They can use it to whip or constrict the opponent. Goku uses this to break free from Tien Shinhan's Four Witches Technique.
- Double Axe Hand: Goku cups his hands together and reels back, then slams his fists on the opponent.
- Eight-Arm Fist: A physical technique that involves its user moving their arms fast enough that they seemingly have eight of them, allowing them to attack and defend themselves much more efficiently. Used to counter Tien Shinhan's Four Witches Technique.
- Crazy Fist: A distraction technique used by Goku and designed to confuse and taunt the opponent. Pretending to be a wild uncontrollable dog or monkey, Goku catches his opponent off guard, and eventually knocks him out with a swift kick by jumping from behind. Goku uses this in reaction to Jackie Chun's Drunken Fist.
- Tornado!: After calling the name of the attack, Goku spins while rushing on the opponent to attack him/her. Used against Nam.
- Afterimage Technique: Goku creates perfect replica afterimages of himself to give the illusion of him still being in a location making it difficult for the opponent to actually harm his true self.
- Mid-Air Stop: While falling to the ground, Goku exhales his breath like an explosive blast to stop his decent. Goku uses this technique against King Chappa in the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament preliminaries.
- Tail Helicopter: Goku swings his tail in a circle fast enough to hover and fly freely. Used only once, in his fight against Jackie Chun in the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament.
- Agile Style: After his training under Kami, Goku could remove the Weighted portions Turtle School Uniform to increase his power level and agility due to being no longer incumbered by the heavy weights allowing him to utilize a more agile fighting style hence its name. Goku first used it during the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament and later when he confronted his brother Raditz alongside Piccolo. According to Raditz's Scouter, Goku's power level rose from 334 to 416 indicating the weight removal alone increased his power level by 82. This state was named in Dragon Ball Legends (albeit in relation to Piccolo & Pikkon's use of Agile Style) where it is the "base" form used by Goku (DBL22-01S) which represents Goku from the period during which he fought Raditz.
- Dragonthrow: Goku grabs his opponent's arm, leg, tail, or antenna, then he spins and throws them away.
- Meteor Combination: First, Goku charges at the opponent and elbows them away. Then, he attacks the opponent with a powerful barrage of kicks and punches, ending with a heavy punch to their stomach. When the opponent lays on the ground paralyzed, Goku jumps up in the air and fires a Super Kamehameha down at the opponent, inflicting a massive amount of damage.
- Meteor Smash: Goku punches the opponent in the stomach. Then, he punches the opponent away and flies after them to right hook kick them in their face. Finally, Goku axe kicks the side of the opponent's head, knocking them away and inflicting a great deal of damage.
- Bōjutsu: The art of wielding a staff which Goku utilizes when wielding his Power Pole. Goku learned it from the Power Pole's previous owner, his adoptive Grandpa Gohan. Goku's Bōjutsu skills are so great that he can use his Power Pole to deflect bullets as shown during his assault on Muscle Tower. Additionally, due to the Power Pole's mystical length changing properties, his attack range with the Power Pole is much greater than an average staff.
- Kaoi-ken Finish: First, Goku charges at the opponent and kicks them up into the air. Then, he flies up after the opponent and double axe-handle punches them down to the ground. Next, he powers up to his Kaio-ken technique as he charges down at the opponent and double-punches them in their back. Finally, Goku quickly lands on the ground and catches the opponent on their back before throwing them onto the ground, inflicting a great deal of damage.
- Kaoi-Ken Attack: Goku powers up to Kaio-ken x3 as he charges at the opponent and roundhouse kicks them up into the air. Then, he flies up in the air and punches the opponent away. Next, he flies up over the opponent and down behind to double kick them further up into the air. Finally, Goku flies up into the air around the opponent and hook kicks them down into the ground, inflicting a huge amount of damage.
- Ki Blast: The most basic energy attack, Goku creates a small form of energy that he blasts at an opponent, usually he uses this to keep his distance from an enemy or to distract them so he can land another attack.
- Kiai: A technique where Goku affects the air currents around him with ki to produce powerful shockwaves in order to strike the opponent at mid-range.
- Kamehameha: Goku's signature move since obtaining it. It unleashes a powerful and long-stretching blue energy blast from his cupped hands. Goku first learns the move as a kid after witnessing Master Roshi using it. It can be charged to compete with practically any enemy attack. Since mastering this technique, Goku has continued to improve on it and develop new variations of it.
- Spirit Bomb: Easily Goku's most powerful techniques and arguably the strongest in the series, it allows Goku to channel ki from all sources of life that he can detect and focus it all into a single energy ball. It was taught to him by King Kai during his training for the upcoming battle against Vegeta and Nappa. Over time, Goku continually learned to expand the range of which he could gather energy, thereby increasing both the size and power of the Spirit Bomb. He reserves this technique as a last-ditch effort for only the most powerful of foes.
- Instant Transmission: Goku learns this technique on the Planet Yardrat after his battle with Frieza by learning Spirit Control - which also allowed him to sense ki from a much greater distance. This technique allows him to teleport to any location so long as he can find an energy source to home onto. However, it also greatly extends his ability to sense energy. Noticeably in Yo Son Goku, he seemingly improved on the technique as transports to the radish field without sensing anyone, possibly because he had accurate enough knowledge of where it is.
- Solar Flare: Goku places his hands close to the center of his face with the fingers spread toward his eyes. He then calls out the name of the technique, which provokes a white light to fire out and blind everything watching except him, since he is projecting the light.
Other
Standard Tactics: Goku is a trained and gifted martial artists who has always kept the same tactics when entering battle. Goku will size up his opponent to see where their strengths and weaknesses lay, see how strong they are, and dish out various martial arts attacks and techniques to overwhelm his opponent. Goku will never immedieatly go all out from the start unless he fully needs to and will usually start with warm ups.
Weaknesses
- Standard Ki Weaknesses: Due to the nature of ki draining stamina and energy, Dragon Ball characters ki usage requires them to usually use their higher levels of energy in short bursts, using a large amount of ki overtime can greatly weaken them to the point that characters far lower then them can actually harm them with attacks[165]. Taking large amounts of damage can greatly deplete a ki users attacks, making it where attacks that would otherwise kill massively weakened characters, only pushes them back[166]. Ki users that are able to ki sense cannot do it when their guard is dropped, such as when Vegeta was able to sneak attack Son Goku during the end of their fight in the Buu Saga[167]. Despite some ki users being able to reach blasts that can destroy planets through charged attacks or techniques[168][169][170][171], they have not shown to be able to tank such blasts themself[172][173][174], with attacks that have[175] destroyed several[176] planets in the series always killing the character. Even characters such as Majin Buu's body cannot withstand the energy of a planet exploding.
- Turtle Hermit Style Weaknesses: As the style does not incorporate any real fighting techniques[177], it has a heavy reliance on durability[178], stamina[179], muscles and speed[180], along with agility[181], thus anyone with superior statistics then them can easily overpower this style[182], along with this any character capable of using attacks that bypass defense altogether such as pressure point strikes can easily overcome a turtle hermit style user, even if they use extra forms and techniques to heighten their defenses[183]. Thus anyone with techniques that ignore statistics or are simply higher in statistics than a Turtle Hermit Style user can easily overcome this style.
- Unique Weaknesses: Grabbing Goku’s tail completely disorients him, even at this point in the series. Goku will not immediately go all out during a battle to size up his opponent and see how strong they are unless he openly needs too, making his guard low in some cases.
Note
- Some clips used on the profile come from an anime or movie due to the fact that some abilities from ki use shouldn't function much differently from how they can in canon, along with this sometimes the anime version/video game version of a scene will be used for cleaner visuals. Toriyama himself directly overlooks scenes in the anime and movies and gives Toei the thumbs up[184].
- The speed scaling for PLs are taken with a grain of salt as there are noticeable times where someone's speed isn't equal to their power, such as Burter being faster then Recoome and Jeice, along with Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks having his power greatly increased but his speed decreased.
Trivia
- From his mid-teens to early twenties, Goku was a famous celebrity on Earth for his defeat of King Piccolo and his later victory over Piccolo Jr. at the 23rd World Tournament. Later, Goku appears to have been largely forgotten in favor of the following World Tournament champion, Mr. Satan (most likely due to Mr. Satan using success to become a rich and famous media hound in contrast to Goku living a humble and quiet life away from the public's eye). However sometime after the defeat of the Shadow Dragons and before the 64th World Martial Arts Tournament, in GT, Goku is once again a revered hero as a giant statue of him is displayed in the stadium.[185] Additionally, though the general public may have forgotten his heroics, people like King Furry and World Tournament Announcer do as they have witnessed to his exploits.

It might be that he died there, or it might be that he became something else entirely. I’ll leave that decision to the imaginations of everyone who watched. However, the Goku up to that point that everyone knows clearly does not appear after that.
In the world of Dragon Ball, Goku had already died multiple times, and up till then, each time he appeared with a halo over his head. However, I didn’t want to go with the usual concept of, “even when he dies, he comes right back to life”. I wanted the viewers to picture “death” in that way, and feel a sadness close to it in reality. So I had a “change” come over Goku." - ↑ To be honest, in GT episode 63, just before the final episode, a big change comes over Goku.
