Breaking through the shining clouds, I fly away (fly away),

The panorama spreads throughout my body.

Kicked in the face, the Earth gets angry (angry),

Making a volcano explode.

If, within melting polar icecaps,

If there's a dinosaur, I want to train it to balance on a ball.

Cha-La Head-Cha-La

No matter what happens, I won't be bothered one bit

Cha-La Head-Cha-La

As long as my heart beats loud,

The Energy Sphere roars... Sparking!

Swooping through the sky in a Jet Coaster (Coaster),

I fall in the paradise of panic.

The scenery turns upside-down and I'm pleasant (pleasant),

Even the mountains look like rear-ends.

There's no time to worry,

Cause there's a "Surprise!" somewhere, and I want to find it!

Cha-La Head-Cha-La

I'd rather empty my head and stuff it with dreams.

Cha-La Head-Cha-La

With a smile that's Ultra-Z,

Even today goes Aye-yi-yi-yi-yi

~ Dragon Ball Kai Intro

Bit by bit I'm falling under your spell

Your smile's all I need to see to know

we'll

Leave this endless darkness

Saying "Come along with me

Hold my hand"

Back when you first came into my life

I recalled a place that I knew as a child

A special place, one that I held close to

my heart

Won't you lead me in a dance down this

winding road?

Where light and shadow entwine to take

hold

Of the thoughts of the one left far behind

Know that sometimes

I want To turn

Around and see the things

That I've passed on

The journey

But know that with love on my side

With courage and pride

I'll fight

I will carry on

Bit by bit I'm falling under your charm

You'll keep me and all the world far from

harm

Bring hope to everyone

Take in your hands eternity

Even when it seems that I don't need you

Just know that I'm in love, can't wait to

Leave this endless darkness

Won't you come along with me?

Hold my hand

~ Dragon Ball Infinite World English opening

Background

Dragon Ball is an internationally popular media franchise. It consists primarily of a manga series created by Akira Toriyama, five anime series (Dragon Ball, Z, GT, Super and Heroes), twenty anime films, seven anime specials, three live-action films, five anime OVAs, four anime crossovers, two anime PSAs and a high-def remastered recut of Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball has an extensive online fanbase and is consistently one of the most frequently searched-for terms on Google, Yahoo! and Lycos. As of January 2012, generating $5 billion in merchandise, Dragon Ball is one of the most merchandisable anime based media franchises of all time.

The story and characters of Dragon Ball were partly inspired by the Chinese folk novel Journey to the West, though they diverge from the novel very quickly. The plot follows the adventures of lead character Son Goku (just simply known as Goku, originally under his Saiyan name Kakarot, and is based on the Monkey King of the folk legend, Sun Wukong) from his childhood through his adulthood. The story includes elements both of action and comedy, though the series became more action-oriented over time.

The following plots for Dragon Ball Media are as follows:

Click for the plots for the Dragon Ball series.

A unifying component of the plot accompanying Goku's progression as a martial artist is his search for the eponymous Dragon Balls. They are one component of the universe, but are not the focus of most of the plot lines of the title. The Dragon Balls themselves are seven magical orbs which are scattered across the world. When assembled, they can be used to summon Shenron, the dragon who will grant one wish within its limit. After the wish is granted, the Dragon Balls are scattered again across the world and become inert for one year. In times past, it would take generations to search the world and gather the Dragon Balls. At the beginning of the story, however, a 16-year-old genius girl named Bulma invents a Dragon Radar to detect the Dragon Balls and makes the process far easier than it was originally intended to be.

The story of Dragon Ball unfolds gradually over 11 years of publication. The tone and the style of the stories gradually changes to reflect the tastes of the readers and the editors of Shōnen Jump in Japan. The early volumes of the manga (chapters 1-134) are primarily humorous fantasy stories, but they contain some minor sci-fi elements, much like Dr. Slump. Notable fantasy elements include not only the monkey boy Goku and the Dragon Balls themselves, but also many talking animal characters, unlikely martial art techniques, and identifying characters as gods and demons. Despite the fantasy elements, the world does contain highly advanced technology including hoi-poi capsules, space-saving capsules which are pocket sized but can store almost any object (including cars, planes and even houses) and other "near future" objects. The overall mood of the earlier volumes is light with few deaths and an emphasis on adventure and humor.

A subtle but significant change in mood begins after Goku's best friend Krillin is killed (the first of many deaths in this arc). This begins the King Piccolo arc (chapters 135-194) in which the manga enters a darker tone compared to its earlier volumes. This arc would more or less define how later arcs would be structured.

Dragon Ball fully transforms into an action based shōnen manga at the onset of the Saiyan arc (chapters 195-241). Starting with introduction of Goku's first son (Gohan), things begin to take a much more serious and harder sci-fi approach. Many characters which were previously implied to have mystic origins, including Goku and Piccolo, are revealed to be aliens from other planets. Advanced space travel, alien threats, and powerful cyborgs and androids take center stage instead of more fantastic villains.

After the defeat of Vegeta, and the conclusion of the Saiyan arc, the survivors of the vicious Saiyan attack head off to the planet Namek to resurrect their friends. This begins the Frieza arc (chapters 242-329). The Frieza arc is noteworthy for introducing the first Super Saiyan (Goku), now a staple of the series. It also sets the tone for more awesomely powerful characters. For example, the antagonist Frieza is first said to have a "power level" (the series' futuristic measure of a fighter's speed and strength, i.e., one average human is listed as 5) of 530,000. He then transforms into a more powerful form, at which point his power level is over 1,000,000. After two subsequent transformations, he reveals that he is still only using a fraction of his full power.

The Android arc (chapters 330-420) introduces Future Trunks, a mysterious Half-Saiyan Half-Human from a destroyed future world where all of the Z Fighters are killed by evil, seemingly unstoppable war machines called Androids, and the enigmatic and villainous Cell who is made from the cells from most of the heroes as well as some of the villains. This arc is notable for being the only arc in which Goku does not defeat the main villain; instead it is his son Gohan who defeats Cell. In this arc, Gohan surpasses the level of Super Saiyan and reaches the stage of Super Saiyan 2 in order to defeat Cell.

After Goku's death he is allowed to keep his body and train in the Other World. Seven years pass and Goku gets stronger while Gohan's power decreases. Fortuneteller Baba allows Goku to return to Earth for a single day which marks the start of the Majin Buu arc (chapters 421-519) which is the final arc of the manga. The beginning of this final arc concentrates on a teenaged Gohan. All the male Saiyans manage to reach the level of Super Saiyan at least (including fusions). Gohan can still use Super Saiyan 2, while Goku and Vegeta obtain this transformation as well. And the final level of the Super Saiyans, Super Saiyan 3, is reached by Goku, and later Gotenks. A considerable number of fusions also take place to add to the series, allowing Goten and Trunks to fuse resulting in Gotenks, Goku and Vegeta fuse to create the single most powerful character in Dragon Ball: the invincible Vegito. During this series, Majin Buu destroys earth and even manages to increase his own power by absorbing Gotenks, Piccolo and Gohan. Majin Buu also succeeds where the villains Vegeta, Frieza and Cell had previously failed and destroys Earth. Earth and everyone that was on it when it was destroyed are restored using the Namekian Dragon Balls, and Kid Buu is destroyed by Goku's Spirit Bomb only after taking on Goku, Vegeta, Mr. Satan and Good Buu.

Kid Buu was reincarnated into a human being of pure good called Uub and Goku, Vegeta, Mr. Satan and the Good Buu return to Earth and returned to Earth to reunite with their friends and families. Ten years later, Goku asks Good Buu to cheat so Goku and Uub can have a match, after the match Goku decides to go to Uub's village and train Uub to his potential so that one day they can have a match to decide who is the strongest fighter in the universe (currently Goku). Uub's village later receives money from Mr. Satan. To say goodbye the heroes that appear in the manga (excluding minor characters), everyone waves to the readers and a large "THE END" sign is seen floating.

After completing this series, Toriyama had a break before making gag manga called Nekomajin. This story features many elements and a few characters from Dragon Ball, including characters such as Majin Buu, Vegeta, and Goku.

A Korean MMORPG that serves as a follow-up to the manga, Dragon Ball Online, was developed with Bandai Namco Games and NTL. The game acts as a sequel to the manga with Akira Toriyama having supervised all aspects of the game, from storyline and setting to character and location designs. In a press conference in South Korea on February 14, 2008, Kazuhiko Torishima, the director of Shueisha at the time (and Toriyama's first editor), stated that Toriyama had immersed himself in creating character designs and providing editorial supervision for the game for the past five years. Two of the main villains of the game, Mira and Towa, were created by Akira Toriyama himself.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ have been said to be an expansion to the manga, as well as the new arcs of Dragon Ball Super, due to Toriyama's involvement in the production writing their respective scripts.

In a peaceful period following the defeat of Kid Buu, Goku continues to attempt to maintain Earth's peace despite being forced by Chi-Chi to get a job as a radish farmer. Gohan and Videl are married while Krillin has become a police officer.[16] The God of Destruction Beerus prophesizes of a Super Saiyan God and upon waking begins a search for the figure. The search leads him to King Kai's planet where he outclasses a Super Saiyan 3 Goku, before turning his eyes to Vegeta on Earth. Beerus enjoyed his time on Earth until he was angered by the ungenerous Majin Buu for not sharing his pudding. The Z Fighters team up to take out Beerus but his power was too much for them.

Before Beerus could destroy the Earth, Goku intervenes and requests for more time to seek out the Super Saiyan God. Goku uses the Dragon Balls to summon Shenron and learns that a ritual is performed to make the Super Saiyan God. After achieving this state, Goku begins another battle with Beerus. In the end result of Beerus winning, Beerus leaves to go back to his planet and sleep. Sorbet and the rest of the Third Stellar Region are failing to find Dragons Balls and their empire starts to crumble by the day so they set out to revive Frieza. After Frieza has been revived, he seeks revenge on Goku and trains for four months. During this time, Goku and Vegeta are being trained by Whis to grow stronger in their base, and Videl gives birth to her and Gohan's daughter, Pan.

Frieza has returned to Earth and brings an army of one thousand soldiers. His army has been defeated by some Z-Fighters. Goku and Vegeta eventually realize Frieza is alive and reach Earth. Goku and Vegeta combat Frieza in his Golden form using Super Saiyan Blue. Frieza destroys the Earth as a last ditch effort to escape the wrath of Vegeta, however, Whis, Beerus, Goku and some few others survive. Whis alters time and sends Goku three minutes into the past to finish off Frieza before he can destroy the Earth. Gohan starts training with Piccolo to get back in fighting shape and protect his loved ones. Additionally, Goku and Vegeta resume their training.

Goku and Vegeta's training is interrupted once again with the arrival of Champa and Vados. It is revealed that there are twelve universes in all, and Goku and Vegeta are from Universe Seven, and Champa is the God of Destruction of Universe 6. Upon being stunned by the delicacies of Earth, Champa and Beerus arranges a Tournament of Destroyers. If Champa wins, he will swap the Earth of Universe 7 with the extinct Earth of his universe. If Beerus wins, he will obtain the six Super Dragon Balls Champa has been secretly collecting throughout the two universes. Team Universe 7, consisting of Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Majin Buu and the mysterious Monaka face off against Team Universe 6, Frost, Hit, Botamo, Cabba and Auta Magetta. Team Universe 7 wins after Goku surrenders in his final match with Hit, stating that he wants to fight him in full power, prompting Hit to intentionally eliminate himself against the shockingly useless Monaka in the final match. As Champa is about to incur his wrath against his own tournament candidates, Zeno, the King of All Gods, appears and says that he has been observing the event, and hopes to set up a similar tournament, with contestants from all twelve universes. Zeno leaves, and Beerus utilizes the Super Dragon Balls to resurrect Universe 6's planet Earth along with its inhabitants.

After that event, Goku, Vegeta, Goten, Trunks and Monaka are stranded on an outer space adventure, where Goku faces off against Duplicate Vegeta. Some time later, Future Trunks uses his time machine to escape from his dystopian timeline, where Future Bulma and millions have perished from the mysterious threat known as Goku Black, a mysterious but sinister doppelganger of Goku. Arriving in the present, Trunks reunites with the Z Fighters and meets Beerus and Whis. Goku Black invades their timeline to seek Future Trunks, and ends up fighting with Goku. However, a distortion pulls him back to Future Trunks' timeline. Realizing that Black was using a mystical artifact known as the Time Ring, which only belongs to the Supreme Kais, along with Goku, Beerus & Whis travel to Universe 10, to apprehend Gowasu, who has the Time Ring, and his apprentice Zamasu, who possesses identical ki to Black. Zamasu despises all mortals due to their aggressive nature and their inevitable drive to start conflict and wars, which he believes is something that can never be prevented as long as they aren't destroyed. After he is easily defeated by Goku, Zamasu becomes fanatically obsessed with the Universe 7's imprudent warrior, who he realizes, has divine ki, which makes him believe that the power of the mortals are going unchecked.

Zeno summons Goku to his palace, where they meet Grand Minister. Zeno declares that he wants to be Goku's friend and gives him a button that will summon him if needed. Using another time machine, Goku, Vegeta and Future Trunks head into the future and are shocked to see Black with another counterpart of Zamasu. They get defeated and head back to the past. Zamasu's beliefs of mortal extinction is strengthened after he sees more barbaric violence initiated by the mortals in the far future and later the Destroyer's Tournament, which makes him infuriated at the irresponsibility of the other gods, who he believes is not taking their job seriously. He confronts Zuno and forces him to tell him everything about the Super Dragon Balls and Goku. Shin informs of this event to the Z Fighters. Beerus, Goku, Whis & Supreme Kai head to Universe 10 where they witness Zamasu assassinating Gowasu in order to steal the Time Ring. Whis uses his Temporal Do-Over to undo the effect, and Beerus destroys Zamasu. Goku, Vegeta & Future Trunks head back to the future where they see that Goku Black and Zamasu are still present. Black reveals that he is indeed Zamasu. Before Future Trunks created a new timeline by going to the past, in the original timeline, Zamasu still met Goku, assassinated Gowasu, stole his Time Ring, and used the Super Dragon Balls to swap bodies with Goku whose power he lusts over and later kills him and his family. Realizing his own timeline is doomed beyond repair, he uses the Ring to travel to the timeline of Future Trunks and seeks a new ally, this timeline's version of Zamasu. They wreak havoc on multiple planets and universes, killing all gods, and reach to Earth as their final act of genocide, after every other part of the cosmos are wiped out, continuing their Zero Mortals Plan. Also, it is revealed that Future Zamasu used the now-destroyed Super Dragon Balls of their timeline to attain immortality.

Trunks attains a powerful transformation, while a beaten Goku and Vegeta return to the past. Goku learns the Evil Containment Wave so that he can seal Zamasu away while Vegeta trains in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. They return to the future and later, Gowasu and Supreme Kai joins in to stop the evil acts. After Future Zamasu is driven to a corner, Goku Black decides to utilize their contingency plan, and they fuse to become Fused Zamasu. Goku and Vegeta use Supreme Kai's Potara earrings to fuse and become Vegito, and a ferocious battle ensues. However, because of the time limit and physical constraints caused by the Potara Fusion, Goku and Vegeta defuse.

Future Trunks steps in as Zamasu is being overwhelmed by the imbalance of his spiritual and physical state and uses the energy of Goku, Vegeta and all the living beings in the planet, to slice Zamasu up, he is forced to cast off his physical body. He transcends his physical vessel and his essence & will becomes one with the very cosmos itself. Goku uses Zeno's button which summons Future Zeno, who erases the timeline out of annoyance. The surviving fighters escape to the past. Future Trunks and Goku return to the timeline back again, and they take Future Zeno to the main timeline's Zeno, and they become playmates. A traumatized and devastated Future Trunks and Future Mai decide to live in the new alternate timeline that Whis created after he went to warn Future Beerus about Zamasu and they bid a heartful final farewell to the Z Fighters after they are unable to save their own world.

After that event, minor events revolve around some of the characters. Some time later, at Goku's request, the two Zeno's decide to organize a tournament including all twelve universes, called the Tournament of Power, which will take place in the Null Realm. In the Zeno Expo, Great Priest reveals that this tournament is not only made for recreational purposes, in fact, the Zeno's were planning to get rid of the weaker universes all along and this tournament will also serve as a judging basis for them to do so, with the four universes that were at the top of Zeno's mortal level scale, being spared automatically.

However, before the actual Tournament begins, Future Zeno wishes to see an exhibition match to experience the thrill beforehand. The Grand Priest accedes and a warm up tournament is setup between Universe 7 and Universe 9. Majin Buu, Gohan and Goku respectively defeat the wolfish fighters Basil, Lavender, and Bergamo with Goku revealing his Super Saiyan Blue form, thus surprising all the Gods of Destruction. After Goku wins, a mysterious fighter by the name of Top wishes to fight Goku, considering himself a servant of justice and the latter as evil. An intense battle begins with Toppo dislocating Goku's shoulder and Super Saiyan Blue Goku delivering a Kamehameha at point blank range. Toppo survives but the Great Priest stops the battles before one of them dies before the tournament. Before leaving, Toppo reveals that he is not the strongest fighter in Universe 11 but it is his friend Jiren, who will destroy Goku for sure. The Great Priest announces that the tournament will begin in 40 Earth hours and all the Universes depart. Goku returns to Earth and, along with Gohan, sets out to recruit 8 other members. Vegeta agrees to participate after Bulma gives birth to their daughter, Bulla. Goku recruits Piccolo, Master Roshi, Androids 17 and 18, Tien, and Krillin. Majin Buu is selected but falls asleep and Goku chooses Frieza as a replacement, much to everyone's horror. Everyone arrives at the World of Void for the tournament and a chaotic battle royal ensues between all the eight universes.

Powerful new warriors prove their worth in the battlefield and Universe 7 defeats Universes 9, which is promptly erased. The tournament proceeds, and Universe 6's Saiyan warriors Kale and Caulifla continue to break their limits throughout the battle royal. Shortly, Universe 10 is erased after their last fighter Obni is defeated by Gohan. As half of the time goes by in the tournament, Goku faces off against the mightiest mortal, Jiren, whose power is rumored to be in the domain of the Gods of Destruction. During his intense battle with Jiren, Goku falls after his plan to release the Spirit Bomb, but he ends up obtaining a godly state known as Ultra Instinct, which allows him to dodge any attack without having to think, in exchange of putting unconditional faith on his own body. Goku ultimately loses and proceeds to battle the other universes. Universe 6's strongest fighter Hit is unpredictably eliminated by Jiren. Goku defeats Kefla, the fusion of Kale and Caulifla, by reactivating his Ultra Instinct and erupting a mighty Kamehameha at her, throwing her out of the ring. Promptly, Universe 2 and their love warriors and Universe 6 and their last Namekian fighters are erased by the combined efforts of Universe 7, who also clear up Universe 4 and it's fighting team, comprised of cunning superpowered extraterrestrials of diverse races, briefly.

Universe 3's mightiest warriors fuse together to create the towering and gigantic winged monster, Agnilasa, who is defeated by the combined powers of the seventh universe, causing Universe 3 to get erased. The final warriors remaining in the stage are Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Frieza and 17, who have to face off against Universe 11's Jiren, Toppo & Dyspo. Gohan eliminates himself in the process to take down Dyspo with him with the help of Frieza. Toppo, infuriated at his inability to stand a chance against Universe 7, leaves behind all his ideals and motivations to turn into a God of Destruction. Frieza is pummeled by Toppo, who is eliminated in a frenzied attack by Vegeta. Jiren finally decides to release his true power, and starts to drop his calm and composed attitude. It is revealed that Jiren's family and allies were all ravaged by an evildoer in the past, and that Jiren has lost all his faith in humanity and friendship or trust after his own allies betrayed him when they abandoned him out of fear of getting the same fate as their fallen friends. Jiren's mind broke, and so did his will. Traumatized, Jiren convinced himself that strength was absolute, that strength forgives all, even the past, as the strength of the evildoer was enough to destroy the hopes of Jiren and his allies. Jiren trained endlessly all these years, reveling in his own unstoppable growing strength to suppress his frustrations and enforcing his own brand of justice against evil by enlisting in the Pride Troopers, vowing to never let anything like his past ever happen in the future again.

Vegeta goes beyond Super Saiyan Blue during his ferocious battle with Jiren, the last remaining Universe 11 warrior. Android 17 seemingly blows himself up in a last ditch effort to save Goku and Vegeta from Jiren. Vegeta is knocked out by Jiren, who gives all of his energy away to Goku, putting his trust in his fellow Saiyan. Goku taps into Ultra Instinct again, and goes toe to toe with Jiren, and finally, he masters the godly form. Goku proceeds to defeat Jiren, who starts going through a mental breakdown, devastated that all of his years of training and his ideals were all shattered by Goku, who proved that friendship and unity could be used as a drive to victory. Before he is able to eliminate Jiren who has started to acknowledge the Saiyan warrior's words, Goku's body suffers from using Ultra Instinct repetitively and he collapses. However, it is revealed that both Frieza and Android 17, who has survived his explosion, are still in the ring.

They save Goku and proceed to fight a heavily damaged Jiren, who finally exhibits catharsis, upon hearing the inspiring words of his comrade Toppo who says that he believed in Jiren all along and always will. Although, initially, Frieza planned to clear up the strong enemies and then later betray Universe 7 to steal the Super Dragon Balls for himself and use it's power to turn the gods against each other and receive unimaginable strength, he realizes that Jiren's power is too much for even him to handle. Frieza reluctantly accepts to team up with Goku to save Universe 7, throwing away his selfish goals of obtaining the Super Dragon Balls to defeat their opponent in the face of erasure. Putting their complete trust in each other despite being enemies, Goku and Frieza unite their strength to eliminate Jiren. However, they are eliminated in the process. Universe 11 is erased and Android 17, the last person standing in the tournament, uses the Super Dragon Balls to restore all the erased universes. The Grand Minister reveals that Zeno foresaw the outcome of the tournament, and that if the victor used the Super Dragon Balls for a selfish wish, he would destroy everything in existence. The tournament would serve as a great message to gods of the different universes to balance the order of their own respective universes.

Out of gratitude, Beerus commands Whis to resurrect Frieza for his true comradeship in the end. Jiren finally acknowledges that he is done letting the past bind him in the future, revealing that he has let go of his hollow exterior to mask his problems, and that he was going to face them head on. He seems to come closer to accepting the Pride Troopers as his friends. The Dragon Team return to Earth and celebrate. Bulma gifts Android 17 a cruiser for his valiant contributions in the tournament. After his imminent return, Frieza seizes the opportunity to reassemble the extinct Frieza Forces, declaring with a malicious grin, that the emperor of the universe has returned.

Goku and Vegeta go to the place where they first battled. Goku reveals that he has lost the ability to use Ultra Instinct, but he and Vegeta promise each other that they will keep getting stronger, and continue breaking their limits.

Four years after the defeat of Majin Buu, Goku is seen working as a farmer, and his family and friends live peacefully. However, the God of Destruction Beerus awakens after decades of slumber. Beerus, along with his Angel assistant and teacher, Whis, seeks a warrior known as the Super Saiyan God, threatening to destroy the Earth if he loses to him. Goku transforms into the Super Saiyan God with the help of his friends, battles Beerus and loses, but his efforts appease Beerus, who spares the planet.

Afterwards, while Goku and Vegeta train, with Whis as their teacher, the remnants of Frieza's army collect the Dragon Balls and revive Frieza. After training, Frieza returns to Earth, seeking revenge. Despite achieving the Golden Frieza transformation, he is defeated by Goku and Vegeta, who have mastered the Super Saiyan Blue transformation. In spite, Frieza destroys the Earth, but Whis reverses time, allowing Goku to slay Frieza.

Champa, Beerus' brother and the God of Destruction of Universe Six, convinces Beerus to hold a tournament between the best fighters from their universes. The reward for the winner is the Super Dragon Balls, planet-sized Dragon Balls with nearly unlimited wish-granting abilities. Champa intends to swap Universe Six's barren Earth with Universe Seven's for their cuisine. Goku and his friends join the tournament. The tournament reaches its climax in a match between Goku and Hit. Unable to fight Hit at full power, Goku forfeits the match. Hit forfeits the final match, and Universe Seven wins. Beerus secretly wishes for the Super Dragon Balls to restore Universe Six's Earth.

Goku meets and befriends Lord Zenō, the Omni-King of all universes, and promises to bring him a friend. Later, Future Trunks reappears, with news of an enemy who resembles Goku, known as Goku Black. They discover that Goku Black is Zamasu, a Supreme Kai apprentice from Universe Ten, who used the Super Dragon Balls to steal Goku's body from a different timeline, as part of his plan to wipe out every mortal. Ultimately, Zamasu and the future timeline are erased from existence by Future Zenō, who accompanies Goku back to the present, where he becomes Present Zenō's friend. Future Trunks leaves for an alternate timeline.

Later, both Zenōs hold the Tournament of Power, where teams of fighters from eight of the twelve universes battle, with defeated universes being erased. Goku, his friends, Android 17, and a temporarily revived Frieza join the tournament. They battle formidable warriors, such as Universe Eleven's Jiren. Goku attains a new form known as Ultra Instinct, allowing him to fight unconsciously. The tournament ends with Goku and Frieza eliminating Jiren along with themselves, leaving Android 17 as the winner for Universe 7. He is awarded one wish from the Super Dragon Balls, and restores the erased universes. Frieza is permanently revived.

Frieza and his rebuilt army seek the Dragon Balls. During his search, Frieza meets two exiled Saiyan survivors, Broly and his father Paragus, the latter of whom wants revenge on Vegeta for his father exiling Broly before the Saiyan homeworld's destruction. Broly overpowers both Goku and Vegeta, until they fuse into "Gogeta". However, before Gogeta can kill Broly, he is saved by Frieza's henchmen Cheelai and Lemo. Frieza flees Earth, vowing revenge.

Goku and Vegeta are asked by the Galactic Patrol to recapture the fugitive Moro. In New Namek, Moro defeats them and uses the Namekians' Dragon Balls to restore his abilities and release all criminals in the Patrol's custody. Moro and the convicts rampage while Goku and Vegeta prepare for a rematch. Goku learns to use Ultra Instinct at will, while Vegeta heads to Planet Yardrat. Moro leads his army to Earth, and Goku's allies make a stand until Goku and Vegeta arrive and overpower him. In desperation, Moro fuses with the Earth, threatening to self-destruct. After absorbing energy fused by Vegeta's new powers, Goku slays Moro, saving the Earth.

Goku and Vegeta return to training with Whis and Beerus. Meanwhile, a Cerelian mercenary named Granolah learns from his employers, the Heeters, that Frieza is alive, and vows to destroy him and avenge his home planet of Cereal. Granolah uses his planet's Dragon Balls to become the strongest warrior in the universe, at the cost of his lifespan. The Heeters manipulate Goku and Vegeta into fighting Granolah. While Goku and Vegeta grow stronger fighting Granolah, and Vegeta gains a new Ultra Ego transformation, the two are defeated by Granolah. Before he can finish them, Granolah's foster father, the Namekian Monaito, reveals that Bardock, Goku's father, had saved them during Frieza's attack on Cereal forty years prior. During the attack, the Heeters, who were behind Cereal's destruction, killed Granolah's mother Muezli. Bardock saved Monaito and Granolah, defeating the youngest Heeter Gas.

In the present, the Heeters Oil, Maki and Gas arrive to finish off Granolah, Monaito, Goku and Vegeta. Gas has become the strongest warrior in the universe, through a wish made to the Cerealian Dragon. Gas easily defeats Granolah and Goku as Vegeta retrieves a Senzu bean. Vegeta feeds the bean to Granolah, who confronts Gas, and overwhelms him. Elec arrives and removes Gas' pendant that was suppressing his powers. Gas goes berserk, but regains control of himself, with Elec's help. With Granolah and Vegeta incapacitated, Goku uses Instant Transmission to lure Gas away from Cereal. Goku, Granolah, Vegeta and Monaito retreat to Monaito's house to recuperate. Monaito gives Goku Bardock's scouter, which contains an audio recording of him defeating Gas through sheer will and determination.

As Monaito heals Granolah, Goku and Vegeta face off against a returning Gas. Despite their best efforts, they are defeated, though Gas' lifespan is also consumed in the fight, aging him greatly. Granolah eventually returns, and seemingly defeats him. As Monaito heals Goku, Vegeta, and Granolah, Gas, in a more powerful though decrepit state, returns and fatally injures Monaito. Granolah tends to Monaito, while Goku and Vegeta fight Gas, but are defeated. Frieza arrives on Planet Cereal, having been lured by Elec so Gas could kill him. Having spent 10 years training in a Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Frieza easily kills Gas and Elec, and reveals his new transformation, Black Frieza, easily defeating Goku and Vegeta. He hires Oil and Maki for his crew and leaves. Whis arrives and heals Monaito, retrieving Goku and Vegeta.

Black Star Dragon Balls/Baby Saga

Five years after the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament, Goku is accidentally turned back into a child by Ultimate Shenron, a much more powerful version of Shenron created by the Nameless Namekian (before he split into Kami and King Piccolo) who can grant any single wish, regardless of any restrictions placed on the other dragons, summoned from the Black Star Dragon Balls by his old enemy Emperor Pilaf. He is then forced to travel across the universe to retrieve them, accompanied by his granddaughter Pan and Trunks as if he does not retrieve them within a year the Earth will explode. The trio goes through various adventures in their journey to find the Black Star Dragon Balls, until they encounter the artificial Tuffle parasite, Baby, who intends to destroy the Saiyan race as his revenge for their extermination of the Tuffles many years ago.

After turning practically all of the Earth's population, including the Saiyans, into Neo-Tuffles, Baby decides to convert Vegeta's body into his own and use it to kill Goku. Goku fights him and is quickly defeated, but, after having his tail regenerated by Kibito Kai and Old Kai, transforms and achieves the power of Super Saiyan 4. In this new form, Goku easily overpowers Baby before destroying the evil Tuffle by propelling him into the sun with a 10x Kamehameha. Piccolo then sacrifices himself to permanently destroy Ultimate Shenron and the Black Star Dragon Balls when the Earth explodes after Goku and the others help the people of Earth evacuate to Planet Plant, which Baby had wished back into existence using the Black Star Dragon Balls. Super Android 17 Saga

A year after Baby's defeat, Dr. Myuu (Baby's creator) and Dr. Gero (creator of the Red Ribbon Army androids) create an evil replica of Android 17 in Hell, and have it control the original Android 17 so that a portal from Hell to Earth opens up, leading to a mass invasion of the planet by revived villains. The original Android 17 attempts to mentally manipulate Android 18 as well, but Krillin intervenes. Enraged, 17 murders Krillin by shooting an energy beam through his heart. The two Android 17s then fuse into Super 17, who vows to destroy all of humanity and avenge the Red Ribbon Army's defeat at the hands of Goku. Super 17 seems impervious to Goku's attacks, but when 18 attacks him to avenge Krillin's death, Goku takes advantage of the distraction to penetrate through Super 17 with his Super Dragon Fist technique, then unleashes a Rapid-Fire Kamehameha that completely eradicates him.

Shadow Dragons Saga
The Dragon Balls are collected to revive those killed by Super 17, including Krillin. However, an evil black dragon emerges and then splits into seven Shadow Dragons, who set out to punish humanity for their constant misuse of the Dragon Balls by destroying the Earth. All but the most powerful, Syn Shenron, are defeated by Goku and Pan. Syn Shenron appears to be losing until he absorbs the Dragon Balls and gains tremendous power, transforming into Omega Shenron and surpassing even Super Saiyan 4 Goku's power. Goku is about to sacrifice himself to destroy the evil dragon, but Vegeta intervenes and gains the Super Saiyan 4 transformation with help from Bulma's newest invention, the Blutz Wave Generator. Goku and Vegeta merge using the Fusion Dance technique to create Gogeta, who uses his immense power to beat Omega Shenron to a pulp. However, after being too confident in his ability to defeat Omega Shenron, he uses up too much time in an attempt to embarrass him. Gogeta then defuses and Goku and Vegeta revert to their base forms. Eventually, using the energy of every living being in the universe, Goku creates the incredibly powerful Super Ultra Spirit Bomb and uses it to destroy Omega Shenron once and for all.

Afterward, the real Shenron appears from the restored Dragon Balls to grant Goku and his friends one last wish, which they use to revive everyone killed by Super 17 and the Shadow Dragons, and then proceeds to disappear – along with Goku and the Dragon Balls. Several decades later, Goku's great-great-grandson, Goku Jr., competes in the 64th World Martial Arts Tournament against Vegeta's descendant, Vegeta Jr., as the now-elderly Pan cheers him on. Pan then sees a rejuvenated adult Goku and tries to approach him, but he quickly disappears into the crowd. Goku then leaves the World Martial Arts Tournament with a flashback covering all the events of his timeline. After the flashback ends, Goku then catches his Power Pole and rides off on his Flying Nimbus cloud, bringing the story of Dragon Ball to an end.

Towa and Mira have begun interfering with time, and later the Demon God Demigra is released, who will begin to alter history as well. As a result, the Time Patrol, created by the Supreme Kai of Time, and led by Future Trunks and the Future Warrior, are sent to repair the timelines. The Future Warrior can travel through different parts of the Dragon Ball timeline using a scroll named the Book of Endings and Beginnings. Every time the Future Warrior fixes the events which were changed by the Time Breakers, history returns to running its original course. The game's Hub World Toki Toki City exists in Age 850.

The Time Breakers destroying history causes many changes to the timeline:

Saiyan Saga

  • During Goku, Piccolo, and Gohan's battle with Raditz, the Time Breakers interfere and power up Raditz, allowing him to dodge Gohan's attack and escape the Full-Nelson Special Beam Cannon, causing only Goku to be hit and then finishes off Piccolo with an Energy Blast. Later on, Vegeta does not kill Nappa, and both he and Vegeta are powered up and transform into Great Apes to battle Goku.

Namek Saga

  • Later on, Namek (thanks to the Time Breaker's interference), Ginyu switches bodies with Vegeta and he, Gohan and Krillin are killed by the Ginyu Force. Then they attack Goku, who manages to defend himself, until Ginyu switches bodies with Goku...leaving him in Vegeta's body. Goku tries to fight but fails due to Vegeta's weaker body, is overwhelmed by the Ginyu Force and Ginyu throws a Kamehameha at Goku, thus killing him.
  • Later, due to the Time Breaker's interference, Frieza begins to win the conflict and uses his true form right away instead of going through his second and third forms first, forcing the Future Warrior to interfere, though Frieza still defeats him, Goku, Gohan, and Piccolo. Frieza is also given a dark power up but is eventually defeated by Goku and Future Warrior.

Android Saga

  • Cell is given the dark power up during the Cell Games, and Mr. Satan is also taken control of after Cell tries to kill him. The Cell Jr's are also taken over and kill everyone except for Gohan. Goku is left powerless and unable to move and is presumably beaten by the powered up Hercule. At the climax of the Cell Games, Gohan never brought out his true power (due to Goku not dying in the Cell Games) and when Gohan and Cell are preparing their Kamehameha clash, Cell is powered up by the Time Breakers and joined by 2 Cell Jr's and kill Gohan.
  • In Future Trunks' timeline in Age 783, the evil Androids 17 and 18 are given dark power by the Time Breakers, making them kill Trunks and an empowered Imperfect Cell appears to absorb the androids, having apparently being completed much earlier due to the changes in Trunks' timeline. Due to the timeline being changed, Time Patrol Trunks' existence become ephemeral and is on the verge of being erased from history due to the changes in his timeline. It is eventually discovered that the Time Breakers made two changes in Trunks' timeline; the second one being in Age 785 where the Time Breakers use their power to enable Cell to absorb the Androids before Future Trunks returns from the past and kills them. As a result, upon Future Trunks' return from the past, he arrives in his timeline to find a dark power enhanced Perfect Cell who is too strong. The Time Breakers' reason for making these two changes is part of Towa's plan to erase Time Patrol Trunks from existence by killing his past self, with the two changes being made due to the strong likelihood that the Future Warrior will fix one of them, but Towa is confident the Warrior will be too late to fix the second. However, her plan is foiled by Demigra's Mirage who requires the Future Warrior to fulfill his plans places his mark on the Future Warrior and transports the Future Warrior to Age 785, thus allowing them to rescue Trunks' past self in the nick of time.

Buu Saga

  • Majin Buu is given the dark power up when he fights Super Saiyan 3 Goku and splits into three Buu's and while Mira is planning to attack and defeat both of them so Towa can steal Goku's energy in order to fulfill their plan of opening the gates of Demon Realm, however this doesn't occur as the Future Warrior prevents Mira from fighting with Goku and in the resulting battle Mira is destroyed by the Warrior's Buster Cannon. After Mira's defeat and Towa's retreat, the Warrior aids SSJ3 Goku against the 3 Majin Buus. After defeating two of the Buus, Goku's time on Earth expires and the Future Warrior prevents several smaller Majin Buus from following him. Eventually Time Patrol Trunks convinces Buu that a strong Warrior will soon appear and to stop destroying Earth until then. Majin Buu agrees but asks the Future Warrior to stay and play with him until the strong guy comes, but the Future Warrior hastily returns to the Time Nest causing Majin Buu to throw a tantrum. Back at the Time Nest in Age 850 the Future Warrior is saved by the Supreme Kai of Time from being killed by the explosion of Demigra's Majin Emblem that he had earlier placed on the Warrior as part of his plan to kill Time Patrol Trunks, Supreme Kai of Time, and the Future Warrior. Demigra then appears and Supreme Kai of Time reveals he used the Warrior to get rid of the Time Breakers' as they had outlived their usefulness. Demigra demands she had over Tokitoki but Future Trunks attacks him only to discover it is just Demigra's Mirage and that he is still sealed within in the Crack of Time. The Supreme Kai of Time says they must prevent Demigra from escaping from the Crack of Time. Later Piccolo is taken control of by Demigra's Mirage and beats down both Goten and Trunks to prevent them from fusing in Gotenks, but the Future Warrior interferes and corrects the timeline preventing this. Later Super Buu is taken over by Demigra and blows up the Earth during his fight with Gohan. Thanks to the Future Warrior interfering Super Buu instead changes into Kid Buu and engages Gohan and the Future Warrior in a fight, which results in Earth being destroyed, however Goku was able to save Hercule and the Future Warrior from the blast. During the final battle with Kid Buu, Goku is not strong enough alone to push the Super Spirit Bomb into Kid Buu, so the Future Warrior arrives and helps him give the Super Spirit Bomb one final push that destroys the evil Majin.

God of Destruction Beerus Saga

  • When Beerus comes to Earth, Vegeta manages to stop Buu from eating all the pudding and gives some to Beerus. Beerus is unable to enjoy the dessert, as Goten and Trunks' ball knocks the pudding out of Beerus' hands (although it appeared to be taken control of by Demigra who changed its course prior). Seeing that Majin Buu has already eaten all the other pudding, Beerus attacks, forcing the Future Warrior to interfere and hold off Beerus with the Z-Fighters. Later Beerus is given the dark power up and prepares an energy sphere, seemingly with the intent to destroy Earth. Just before Beerus tosses the ball of energy, he turns and aims at Démigra. After Démigra barely avoids the attack and the follow up finger laser, Beerus joins the Future Warrior to fight Démigra. The Future Warrior tries to finish off Démigra with a golden ki enhanced punch through his chest, but this Démigra is revealed to be another one of his mirages. Beerus and Whis follow the Warrior back to the Time Nest in Age 850 in order to learn of the whereabouts of Demigra so Beerus can destroy him as divine punishment for trying to control Beerus, however the Supreme Kai of Time pleads with Beerus to let the Time Patrol handle it, for fear of the untold amount of destruction that Beerus and Demigra could cause if they were to fight. Whis suggests that Beerus test Time Patrol Trunks and the Warrior to see if they are capable of defeating Demigra, Beerus agrees but insists that Whis join him in testing the two Time Patrollers. The Future Warrior and Time Patrol Trunks manage to defeat them and Beerus decides to return home to his temple to take a short nap and says that he doesn't mind if the Time Patrol where to defeat Demigra before he wakes up, however he reserves the right to face Demigra should they fail to defeat the Demon God before he wakes up.

Demigra Saga

  • Demigra finally escapes from the Crack of Time and uses the Dragon Balls in Age 778 to revive Frieza, Cell, and Kid Buu (before he is reincarnated as Uub) then fully empowering them with his dark magic. The Supreme Kai of Time uses the Dragon Balls of Age 850 to inform Goku of Age 778 of the situation and he arrives to assist the Future Warrior against the revived villains. Meanwhile, Demigra attacks Toki Toki City then captures and consumes Tokitoki gaining the power of a God. Back in Age 778 the Warrior and Goku managing to defeat the villains, however pair are confronted by Gohan, Gotenks, and Vegeta under Demigra's control though they manage to defeat them and return them too normal. Goku leaves to use the Namekian Dragon Balls to fix the damage caused in the wake of Demigra's actions. The Future Warrior returns to Age 778 to find Toki Toki City in ruins due to Demigra's attack and discovers Demigra has taken control of Time Patrol Trunks. Despite being under Demigra's control, Trunks pleads with the Warrior to defeat him as it is the only way to free him from Demigra's control. After Trunks is freed, Demigra tries to take control of the Future Warrior, but an injured Trunks distract him long enough for the Supreme Kai of Time to dispel Demigra's Dark Magic preventing them from falling under Demigra's control. Goku then arrives in Toki Toki City via Instant Transmission and joins the Warrior in facing Demigra as Trunks is too injured to fight effectively. Demigra discovers that he is unable to take control over Goku, who attributes this to the time when he briefly become a Super Saiyan God and correctly surmises that Demigra's and Towa's dark magic has no effect on Gods or those who possess Godly Ki. Demigra is defeated and flees only to be followed by the Warrior, Trunks, and the Supreme Kai of Time via Goku's Instant Transmission. They 4 heroes arrive to find themselves inside the Time Vault and discover Demigra plans to destroy the Time Vault so he can erase history and create a new one. Goku turns into SSJ3 and along with the Future Warrior tries to prevent Demigra from carrying out his insane plan. However, both the Future Warrior and Goku are hit and restrained by Demigra's magic spears. The Future Warrior blacks out and wakes up to find himself/herself in an empty space that resembles the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. While exploring their new surroundings they find a Time Scroll containing the history of Age 850 and decide to use it to travel back in time in order to set things right and defeat Demigra once and for all. After Warrior arrives in Age 850, they destroy the spears restraining Goku so he can stop Demigra's Energy Sphere from destroying the Time Vault while the Warrior chases after Demigra who has fled via a portal. The Warrior arrives in Demigra's former prison, the Crack of Time where Demigra plans to wait out the destruction of history safely as the Crack of Time exists outside of time. Demigra transforms into his final form in order to defeat the Future Warrior once and for all. Ultimately Demigra is killed and Tokitoki is freed. Afterwards the Supreme Kai of Time thanks both Goku and the Future Warrior for putting an end to Demigra's evil. Time Patrol Trunks says he will continue to patrol time and asks the Warrior if they are willing to remain a member of the Time Patrol, to which the Warrior agrees. Goku asks the Future Warrior to spar with him only to be told off by the Supreme Kai of Time who tells them to fight somewhere other than the Time Nest as they might damage the Time Vault.
  • Beerus and Whis are shown floating above the restored Toki Toki City where they are joined by Tokitoki who perches on Whis' staff. They comment on Demigra's defeat and the Warrior's strength who Beerus hopes will become stronger. Meanwhile, the Supreme Kai of Time bids Goku farewell and tells him to be sure and visit her sometime and he promises he will. However, Towa is shown with the surviving core of Mira and says they have failed but will return to take their revenge on those that stood in their way. Later Time Patrol Trunks, the Supreme Kai of Time, and Tokitoki observe the Future Warrior as they test out 4 new Time Patrol candidates, however the Warrior defeats them effortlessly causing Trunks to yell at them for overdoing it.

Wormhole Trouble

  • After the defeat of Demigra another history shift takes place and reveals Demigra's Wormhole is popping up and pulling people out of their time. One occurs during Bardock's final moments before he confronts Frieza. Frieza's men are powered up by the Wormhole's Magic as is 1st form Frieza and the Future Warrior is forced to intervene to ensure history remains on course. However, before Planet Vegeta is destroyed the wormhole swallows Bardock, taking him away. The Future Warrior follows the wormhole and ends up at the start of Videl, Goten and Trunks confronting Broly on Earth. Broly is powered up by the wormhole and once again the Future Warrior has to intervene to protect them. Before Broly can be beaten, he is pulled into the wormhole. Future Warrior once again follows and ends up in Age 762 with Bardock and Broly meeting face to face on a dying Namek a few miles away from where SSJ Goku and Frieza are fighting, it becomes apparent that Demigra's intended on having Broly and Bardock see their nemesis' and go into a rage in hopes of Goku or Frieza being killed. Bardock, due to seeing the future, knows this isn't right and after hearing Broly cry out for Kakarot, Bardock then engages Broly saying that is his son's destiny to confront and beat Frieza and attempts to stall Broly so his son can beat Frieza. The Future Warrior jumps in to help him but before the battle can be concluded they are taken off of Namek thanks to the Dragon Balls and resume the fight on Earth, with Vegeta stumbling across the fight. Bardock recognizing Vegeta requests Vegeta to make a Power Ball so he can transform into a Great Ape to fight Broly. Vegeta, while confused as to why he looks like Goku, complies and does so and watches the fight from afar. Vegeta eventually jumps in and assist Great Ape Bardock and the Future Warrior in killing the time displaced Broly. After the fight Bardock was heavily injured and transformed back to normal due to injuries and says "serves you right, no one will mess with my son." before appearing to die from his injuries. Vegeta is shocked that they managed to kill Broly but before he can process what happened he is suddenly knocked out. Future Trunks is revealed as the one who knocked him out and tells The Future Warrior to go and he will clean up here.
Once each of these changed times have been righted, and Demigra has been defeated, the Dragon Ball timeline returns to normal.

*In Age 852 the Future Warrior (Xenoverse 2) is assigned a critical mission by Chronoa to stop changes in history created by the resurgent Time Breakers and their allies. The Future Warrior's mentor, Elder Kai oversees their missions from the Time Nest.

  • Future Trunks and Toki Toki City Hero (the protagonist of Xenoverse) who had been summoned by Trunks' wish to Shenron and had previously defeated Demigra after his attack on Toki Toki City in Age 850, continue to search for Towa and Mira, assisting the new Future Warrior when they confront Turles and Lord Slug.
  • After learning that Turles and Lord Slug have been recruited by the Time Breakers to cause time distortions throughout history, Chronoa announces that Tokitoki is about to lay an Egg which contains time for an entire universe.
  • Turles provides Burter and Jeice with Fruit of the Tree of Might (Demon Realm) which grants them stage 2 Villainous Mode. Elder Kai notes the Fruit of the Tree of Might is a divine fruit only meant to be consumed by divine beings such as Core Person as it takes the energy of an entire planet to produce.
  • Future Trunks has his body stolen by Dark Captain Ginyu after falling into a trap while trailing him to find Mira on Namek in Age 762. Future Trunks in Ginyu's body joins the Future Warrior and Goku in fighting Ginyu in Trunks' body and Jeice. Jeice is killed and Future Trunks returns to his original body. Turles aids Ginyu in stealing Goku's body which inadvertently restores the timeline as Goku manages to return to his original body and saves the Future Warrior from having their body stolen by throwing a Namekian Frog which Ginyu swaps bodies with instead, though Turles escapes.
  • While stalling Frieza with Nail in Age 762, Turles and Slug steal the Namekian Dragon Balls from Gohan and Krillin. Chronoa has the Future Warrior return to the Time Nest to use a scroll to travel further back in time something that Elder Kai was unaware was even possible and feels like cheating, though Chronoa notes that they'll do what is necessary to protect history.
  • Turles and Slug both plan to use the Namekian Dragon Balls to acquire immortality though they start fighting as they both wish to become immortal so the can defeat Frieza and Mira so they can rule the universe and neither is willing to serve the other. However they declare a truce when the Future Warrior arrives to stop them.
  • Turles and Slug eat the Demon Realm enhanced fruit and achieve Villainous Mode. Krillin convinces Gohan to leave things up to the Future Warrior while they flee with the Dragon Balls to revive Piccolo and summon him to Namek as in the original history. However Turles and Slug start to swell with Dark Energy and Turles surmises Towa tampered with the fruit.
  • Towa and Mira appears as Towa reveals she used Turles and Slug as guinea pigs to test her new Supervillain spell that shaves off life to grant the recipient greater power. Future Trunks tells his partner to chase after Mira while he stays behind to back up the Future Warrior against Supervillain Mode Turles and Slug. They defeat the Supervillains by countering their combined energy wave with a combined energy wave of their own.
  • Future Trunks leaves to chase after Mira, leaving the Future Warrior to hold off Dark Frieza until Goku appears. Goku finally appears and Vegeta dies.
  • The Future Warrior and Goku fight Dark Frieza. Eventually Goku resorts to the Large Spirit Bomb which Elder Kai assumes will defeat Frieza, while Chronoa notes King Kai can come up with some real humdingers despite not being able to use them himself.
  • Dark Frieza survives the Large Spirit Bomb and kills Krillin, causing Goku to become a Super Saiyan. SSJ Goku takes Dark Frieza's Killer Ball attack head on, thus the Future Warrior does not have to protect Gohan and Piccolo like their predecessor did in Xenoverse.
  • Frieza uses Destroy the Planet! but holds back allowing Namek to survive for the time being though the attack was fatal to the planet.
  • While noting he held back, Cooler appears and admonishes Frieza for holding back at a time like this. Cooler reveals Towa allowed him to bend time and space to travel to Namek in Age 762 in order to undo the shame caused by Frieza's loss. Cooler also resolves to kill Goku as a way to repay Towa for her assistance.
  • Frieza and Cooler transform into their Full Power states (100% Final Form for Frieza and Fourth Transformation for Cooler) which is enhanced by Supervillain Mode. However the Future Warrior defeats Cooler who falls into the remains of Namek's molten core. SSJ Goku asks them to leave Frieza to him after Dende summons Porunga.
  • The Future Warrior joins Future Trunks and his partner as they confront Mira. While the Future Warrior tends to an injured Future Trunks, he orders his partner to chase after Mira.
  • For defeating Frieza and Cooler, Chronoa awards the Future Warrior with a Flying License allowing them to use Flight legally in Conton City and also serves as recognition that they are no longer a rookie and are now an Elite Time Patroller.
  • Future Trunks observes his mentor Future Gohan's death via the Time Scroll for Age 780 of Trunks' timeline and while talking to the Future Warrior, notices a time distortion has occurred in Age 780. As Future Trunks originates from that timeline, he leaves it up to the Future Warrior to fix the history change. However while observing the battle with Mira who had appeared after the Warrior and Future Gohan had defeated the reactivated Future Android 16, Trunks realizes that Mira is too powerful for them and not willing to stand by and watch his mentor and follow Patroller be killed, Trunks defies Chronoa and travels to Age 780 to join the fight against Mira. After Mira retreats Chronoa witnesses Future Trunks ' reunion with Gohan. When Future Trunks reveals his intentions to assist Gohan in battling the Androids, Chronoa tries to convince him to reconsider and orders the Future Warrior to stop him when he fails to listen. However Gohan and the Warrior manage to convince Future Trunks let Gohan face 17 and 18 alone as he did in the original history. Chronoa allows Future Gohan's encounter with Future Trunks and the Future Warrior to remain in the timeline as Gohan ended up being killed as he had in the original history and out of consideration for Trunks.
  • Following the defeats of Cell in Age 767, Future Android 16, and Future Cell in Age 785 by the Future Warrior, Chronoa announces that Tokitoki has finally laid its egg. Future Trunks and the Future Warrior notice a history change in Age 774.
  • After the Future Warrior defeats Supervillain Broly in Age 774 preventing him from interfering in Majin Vegeta's battle with Goku and Majin Buu, Future Trunks observes his father saying good-bye to his main timeline counterpart before his father's sacrificial Final Explosion and afterwards reveals to Elder Kai and Chronoa that he is proud to be his father's son.
  • After the fight with Supervillain Janemba in Hell, the Future Warrior brings back an injured Future Trunks who had been defeated by Janemba.
  • After the Future Warrior assists Goku and Vegeta, in defeating Supervillain Kid Buu, Future Trunks awakens after recovering from his injuries and informs them that there was a masked fighter assisting Janemba and that they may be watching nearby. The Future Warrior finds the Masked Saiyan and ends up chasing them to Age 778.
  • When the Masked Saiyan and Future Warrior end up in Age 778 during Beerus' battle with Goku, Chronoa attempts to pacify Beerus by sending some pudding she made, however Beerus is enraged at its horrible taste and Goku is incapacitated by stomach cramps after eating some, however Whis and the Warrior manage to calm Beerus.
  • Beerus and Whis travel to the Time Nest after being tricked by Towa who had hacked into the Time Nest's communications and imitated Chronoa in order to lure him and Whis from assisting Goku and his friends during the altered timeline of Frieza's revenge in Age 779. Angered over Towa's blasphemous actions, Beerus and Whis assist the Time Patrol in undoing the damage caused by their absence, allowing the Future Warrior to prevent Frieza from destroying the Earth and successfully killing Goku.
  • Beerus is enraged when Towa fails to appear after correcting the history change in Age 779. At first Whis suggests he seal Elder Kai in the Z Sword again to alleviate his stress, but then offers to spar with Beerus and the Future Warrior after learning about Tokitoki's recently laid egg from Chronoa. Beerus however is forced to leave during the sparring match when Whis draws his symbol on the God of Destruction's forehead with permanent ink. The Future Warrior manages to defeat Whis in the sparring match. Beerus decides to leave Towa's defeat up to the Future Warrior and the Time Patrol, and returns with Whis to his planet in Age 779.
  • Future Trunks , Chronoa, Elder Kai, and the Future Warrior decide to focus on finding the Masked Saiyan whom they had discovered was Bardock after his mask broke during his fight with the Future Warrior in Age 778. As a result of their investigation, the Time Patrol discovers the Time Breakers had taken control of Earth in Age ??? and that Towa had manage to capture and brainwash the Toki Toki City Hero, turning them into the Masked Future Warrior.
  • Future Trunks and the Future Warrior return from Age ??? with the Mask the Toki Toki City Hero wore while brainwashed, after Towa retreats following Mira's imprisonment in the Time Rift by Bardock and Ace being freed from her control.
  • As a result of Towa killing Shenron in Age 850, before he can grant Future Trunks ' wish, Chronoa, Elder Kai, the Future Warrior, and Future Trunks lose their memory of the Toki Toki City Hero, who had faded from existence due to Towa's actions. This creates a massive time distortion across all the Time Scrolls, effecting the memories of everyone in Age 852.
  • However the presence of the mask Towa used to brainwash the Toki Toki City Hero in Age ???, causes Future Trunks to remember his partner and discover the source of the time distortion inside the Time Scroll for Age 850, allowing the Future Warrior to travel back in time to stop Towa from killing Shenron.
  • Despite her defeat in Age 850, Towa suddenly appears inside the Time Vault and attacks Chronoa. It is revealed that Towa bypassed the barrier around the Time Nest via the Hero's Mask which Future Trunks had brought back with him from Age ???. Towa reveals she infiltrated the Time Nest in order to steal Tokitoki's Egg and states that she will use its power to revive the Demon Realm.
  • Towa uses the Egg's power to open a portal to the Time Rift, freeing the trapped Mira who attacks Future Trunks with an energy blast. He tries to do the same to the Future Warrior, but Ace takes the blast for them, as Towa and Mira flee to Age ???. Injured by Mira's attack, Ace leaves the Time Breaker's defeat up to the Future Warrior.
  • Future Trunks recovers and from the Time Nest informs the Future Warrior that the Time Patrol will be unable to assist them in the fight against Mira. He and Elder Kai witness Mira defy Towa and as his encounter with Bardock inside the rift had changed him and observe Towa join forces with the Warrior to prevent Mira from overheating and destroying the universe after removing his power limiter.
  • After Mira is defeated by Towa and the Warrior, Elder Kai and Future Trunks witness Mira betray his creator by absorbing her and Tokitoki's Egg, transforming into his Final Form. Elder Kai implores the Future Warrior to flee as Mira is far too powerful. Just as Mira is about to kill the Warrior, Goku arrives (with help from Whis) to repay them for helping defeat Supervillain Golden Frieza and Supervillain Metal Cooler in Age 779.
  • They then observe Super Saiyan Blue Goku use the Dragon Fist to remove Tokitoki's Egg from Mira, allowing the Future Warrior to finish off Mira with a Super Kamehameha.
  • After Mira's defeat, Goku and the Future Warrior travel to the Time Nest, where Chronoa stops Goku when he tries to eat Tokitoki's Egg, before informing everyone that the Egg is ready to hatch and they are about to witness the birth of a new Universe. In recognition for their defeat of Mira, the Future Warrior becomes known as the Conton City Hero and receives a holographic statue in Conton City's Recreation Plaza.
  • As Whis prepares to return with Goku, Goku informs him that the Time Patrol is planning to have a feast to celebrate the return of Tokitoki's Egg and the defeat of the Time Breakers, causing him, Goku, and Beerus to remain in Conton City for the feast.
  • Elder Kai ends up bumping into Beerus and he ends up angering Beerus with his attitude towards the God of Destruction due to his grudge over being sealed in the Z Sword, causing Beerus to almost destroy Elder Kai, but Whis arrives in time to defuse the situation with a plate of food.
  • Chronoa summons Shenron at the behest of Tokitoki to wish up the promised feast and manages to dissuade her from cooking the meal herself. Elder Kai objects to using the Dragon Balls to order takeout as he puts it, but Beerus states it should be alright as it is a special occasion, so Chronoa wishes for a feast that will leave everyone full and satisfied.
  • Members of the Time Patrol's Hero Society appear in Conton City to give the Warrior gifts in honor of their achievement.

Starting from the God Missions, Dragon Ball Heroes began implementing story arcs that followed a consistent narrative. So far, there have been seven overarching original story arcs: the Dark Demon Realm Saga, Dark Empire Saga, Prison Planet Saga, Dark King Mechikabura Saga, Universal Conflict Saga, Universe Creation Saga, New Space-Time War Saga and Supreme Kai of Time Saga. Happening within and alongside the Dark Demon Realm Saga are the God of Destruction Beerus Saga, Golden Frieza Saga, King Piccolo Saga, Baby Hatchiyack Saga, Universe 6 Saga, Ultimate Hirudegarn Saga and "Future" Trunks Saga. Happening alongside the Dark Empire Saga are the Super Bardock Saga, Modern-Day Mayhem Saga. Universe Survival Saga and Surviving City Life. Happening alongside the Prison Planet Saga, Universal Conflict Saga and Dark King Mechikabura Saga are the end of the Universe Survival Saga, Android 21 Saga and Dragon Ball Super: Broly, as well as a series of "Ages" focusing on a specific character or series.

Following the Tournament of Power, Goku, Vegeta and Future Mai are informed by a mysterious figure named Fu that Future Trunks is being held captive on a world called the Prison Planet, which is under control of Frieza’s brother Cooler. While there, they are confronted by the Saiyan criminal Cumber. After defeating Cumber and freeing Future Trunks, the events on Prison Planet was revealed to be conducted by the mastermind of Hearts. Hearts, who has recruited a cyborg version of Zamasu, reveal his plan to elimate Zeno and his counterpart just before destroying the Prison Planet.

The surviving heroes safely make it back to Beerus’ world while Goku was rescued by the Grand Minister who decides to train him so that he can maintain Ultra Instinct. Hearts plants a "universal seed" on Universe 11 to drain its energy as he sends enemies across Universe 6 and 3. Vegeta, Trunks and the fighters of Universe 6 face against android siblings Oren and Kamin, who eventually fuse into “Kamioren” while Cooler, now transformed into “Meta Cooler”, fights against Cumber in Universe 3. The fight on Universe 6 is eventually taken to Universe 11. Goku arrives on Universe 11 with some control over Ultra Instinct. Vegeta manages to defeat Kamioren with his evolved Super Saiyan Blue. Realizing he can't defeat Hearts with Ultra Instinct, Goku convinces Vegeta to fuse with him into “Gogeta”. Gogeta, powered up to Super Saiyan Blue, delivers a final blast aimed towards the seed now infused in Heart’s chest, killing him. In his final words, Hearts explains that his true intentions were only to free all mortals from the Omni-King before congratulating Gogeta and the other fighters in defeating him. Elsewhere, a satisfied Fu declares that his next experiment is ready to begin.

In Universe 7, Beerus warns the Z Fighters of a bird that will destroy the multiverse. Fu arrives with his evil Toki-Toki, "Dogi-Dogi" - the prophesied Bird of Catastrophe - and explains his plan to create an entirely new universe using the Universe Tree he planted across the multiverse that was created from Heart’s experimental universe seed and then flees back with Dogi-Dogi. The tree on Universe 7 begins weakening its inhabitants including Krillin and Piccolo. Beerus raises a shield around the Tree to drain his energy instead despite not being able to do it for long. Fu recruits villains such as Turles, Bojack, Super Android 17 and Dr. W from alternate timelines. Turles and Bojack attack Goku and Vegeta while Fu captures Toki-Toki and escapes. Elsewhere, Dr. W collects Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta's energy to give to Janemba, who becomes stronger. To overcome Janemba's new power, Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta borrow energy from their Saiyan counterparts, Xeno Trunks and Xeno Pan to achieve a new level of power to defeat Janemba. They then teleport to the site of the Universe Tree with help from Majin Salsa and Putine and Fu reveals his plan to them. Goku and Vegeta fuse into Vegito and battle Fu, while Towa reveals the truth behind Fu's existence and helps him with his plan. However, the Universe Tree is destroyed with a wish made from the Super Dragon Balls, causing Fu to use his newfound power to revive the tree while Vegito and Xeno Vegito fight against Broly, Towa and Mira with help from Demigra and Robelu. Nevertheless, Fu successfully creates a new universe but is trapped with Xeno Vegito in a Time Labyrinth by Demigra.

Awakening in the new universe, Goku is informed by the Xenoverse fighters that he is in a duplicate of Universe 7, created by Fu. Hearts, who was bought back by Demigra from Hell, returns and proposes an alliance with Goku to defeat Fu before being attacked by Frieza and Cooler in their Golden forms. Suddenly, a Super Saiyan Broly intervenes and overpowers the four. Unbeknownst to them, a mysterious masked Saiyan watches over them while powering Frieza and Cooler with Dark Dragon Balls. However, the Dark Dragon Balls are extracted from them by another mysterious cloaked Saiyan. Hearts formulates a plan with Goku to locate the duplicate unvierse's Dragon Balls to return home. Using the duplicate universe's Dragon Radar, Goku and Hearts track one of the Dragon Balls on a nearby planet where Vegeta, Turles, and Cumber are fighting each other. Goku and Hearts arrive on the planet but Goku is confronted by the masked Saiyan, who is revealed to be Goku Black. Black transforms into Super Saiyan Rose and confronts Goku while Vegeta continues to confront Turles and Cumber. Vegeta manages to absorb Cumber's dark energy with his Super Saiyan Blue form and overpower Turles before knocking Cumber unconscious with a Galick Gun. He advises Turles to leave and train before challenging him again. Vegeta then becomes shocked to see that Black is overpowering Goku in the distance. Goku uses Ultra Instinct against Black, but the latter destroys the planet they're on. During its destruction, Cell appears to save Goku and Vegeta, who question Cell's motives which he responds to he was bought back the same reason Hearts was, who then claims he is also part of "Majin's collaborators".

Dr. Slump is set in Penguin Village, a place where humans co-exist with all sorts of anthropomorphic animals and other objects. In this village lives Senbei Norimaki, an inventor. In the first chapter, he builds what he hopes will be the world's most perfect little girl robot, named Arale Norimaki. However, she turns out to be in severe need of eyeglasses. She is also very naïve, and in later issues she has adventures such as bringing a huge bear home, having mistaken it for a pet. To Senbei's credit, she does have super-strength. In general, the manga focuses on Arale's misunderstandings of humanity and Senbei's inventions, rivalries, and romantic misadventures. In the middle of the series, a recurring villain named Dr. Mashirito appears as a rival to Senbei.

Terms

  • Dragon Balls: Dragon Balls are the namesake artifact of the Dragon Ball series. They are large, crystalline spheres (of varying sizes and colors) that feature five-pointed stars (ranging from one to seven, and also varying in sizes and colors, along with being either rigid or flat in appearance) inside of themselves (akin to glass art); individually, they have no powers, but united they have the ability to call forth their associated Eternal Dragon who can grant (usually) one wish(s).
    • Black Star Dragon Balls: A set of Dragon Balls created by a nameless Namekian, long before Kami's creation of Earth's Dragon Balls. This set of Dragon Balls summon Ultimate Sheron, who can grant wishes far more potent than the original Shenron can; such as being able to kill people with a wish. However, as a wish is made on the Black Star Dragon Balls, they spread out across the entire universe, and if they are not returned to the planet the wish was made on in a years time, it will destroy said planet.
    • Super Dragon Balls: This set of Dragon Balls were made by the Dragon God, Zalama, which are each the sizes of entire planets. The Super Dragon Balls summon Super Shenron, who dwarves entire galaxies with his size, and can seemingly grant virtually any wish, no matter the severity.
  • Super Saiyan: Super Saiyan is an advanced transformation assumed by members and hybrids of the Saiyan race in the Dragon Ball franchise, which was told in ancient Saiyan legend. Earthlings (of Saiyan heritage) in Dragon Ball Online can also assume the transformation by wishing to have their dormant Saiyan powers unlocked. This transformation grants a significant boost to the user's power, and has many evolved and mutated forms; including directly evolutions like Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan 3, and mutated versions like Super Saiyan 4 (accessed through Blutz Waves) and Super Saiyan God (accessed through God Ki.)

Power of the Verse

Dragon Ball

Original

Even during the beginning era of Dragon Ball, the verse had many superhuman characters, starting all the way back at the strength of Wall level, the characters grew in strength through various different training regimens and sagas, reaching Large Building level for most characters, after Son Goku's journey before entering the 22nd budokai, they have all caught up to a Max Power Roshi who was Mountain level. After surpassing his limits even further and thanks to backscaling from Dragon Ball Z the Son Goku and Piccolo reach Moon level, being the most powerful characters in the original series before Toriyama continued it with Z. Characters also are no slouch in speed, gaining Superhuman to Supersonic speeds, and eventually ending with FTL speeds. In terms of powers and abilities, the Dragon Ball characters have access to Energy Projection, Summoning, Size Manipulation, Sleep Manipulation, Mind Manipulation, Extrasensory Perception, Telekinesis, Wish Granting, etcetera.

Dragon Ball Z

While original Dragon Ball was strong in it's own right, Dragon Ball Z is where characters start growing in strength absurdly. Almost all of the relevant characters by the end of the Saiyan Saga range from Moon level to Small Planet level, with Planet level attacks. By the time Frieza Saga comes around, everyone has surpassed their previous limits and are all around Planet level with the stronger characters reaching Large Planet level. By the time of the Android/Cell Saga, most characters are Large Planet level to Brown Dwarf level and the strongest characters reach Low Mass Star level+ to Star level with them staying at this tier through Buu Saga with exception of the god tiers reaching Solar System level. With their speed ranging from FTL to FTL+ due to the sheer power increases they get. They also add on more new abilities such as the introduction of various abilities such as Healing, Attack Reflection, Reactive Power Level, Teleportation, Forcefield Creation, Time Stop, Paralysis Inducement, Fusionism, etcetera,

Dragon Ball GT

The cast have powered up from their Dragon Ball Z selves as GT uses a mixture of the toei movies and the anime for its power set. Almost every major alien Son Goku, Trunks, and Pan comes across are able to give them a decent fight, with most characters reaching Solar System level in power. Their speed reaches the likes of FTL+ and the strongest character reaching Massively FTL. They have some abilities such as, Possession, Negative Energy Manipulation, Corruption, Broadway Force, etcetera.

Dragon Ball Super

While most of the cast initially stay around their Buu Saga levels of strength, after Goku fights Beerus and absorbs the Super Saiyan God into his base form, many characters start training to surpass their previous limits and keep up with Goku, having a lot of them reach Galaxy level in strength. As they reach Resurrection F the strongest characters reach Galaxy level+ with them staying at this in Universe 6 vs Universe 7 until the Goku Black Saga where the massive amount of strength increases has them increase to Multi-Galaxy level, leading to the Tournament of Power where the absolute high tiers reach Supercluster level+. Their speeds have also vastly improved from FTL+ to Massively FTL. They get even more abilities from before such as Existence Erasure, Nothingness Manipulation, Resurrection, Destructive Aura, Omnipresence, etcetera.

Dragon Ball Super Manga

Despite being a manga adaptation of Dragon Ball Super, the power differs greatly, with characters ranging from Solar System level to Galaxy level and having only FTL+ speeds. The series gains some abilities such as Deconstruction, Instinctive Reaction, Paralysis Inducement, Existence Erasure, etcetera.

Dragon Ball Toei Movies

The cast here mostly stay around the same strength as Dragon Ball Z keeping the same set of tiers as their canon counterparts, their speed ranges from FTL to FTL+. They gain some abilities from the movie with some of them being used more in this media then most of the animes such as, Forcefield Creation, Mind Control, Duplication, Shapeshifting, Law Manipulation, Reality Warping, Spatial Manipulation, etcetera.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse

While taking place outside of the main timeline, the characters fight various of the canon characters having them range from Moon level to Small Planet level to Planet level to Large Planet level and Solar System level through dealing with enemies from the movies, GT cast, and canon Cast. The characters from Xenoverse 2 reach Universe level in strength. The characters range from FTL to FTL+ to Massively FTL in speed. They obtain far more abilities such as Reality Separation, Acausality, Time Manipulation, Corruption, Hell Manipulation, etcetera.

Dragon Ball Heroes

Similar to Xenoverse, the characters fight various of the canon and non-canon characters but amplified, dealing with enemies from canon, the movies, GT cast, and Super Cast. With many of them reaching around Solar System level all the way to Supercluster level in strength, and a few characters reaching Universe level through absorbing the energy of the Universe Tree and being capable of making big bangs. The characters range from FTL to FTL+ to Massively FTL in speed. They obtain far more abilities such as Probability Manipulation, Sealing, Fate Manipulation, Memory Manipulation, etcetera.

Dragonball Evolution

The verse is far weaker then all of the other forms of Dragon Ball media, though is is still quite strong in its own right. Ranging from Peak Human level to Room level in power, and having Hypersonic speeds. They have abilities such as, Afterimage Creation, Air Manipulation, Energy Manipulation, Healing, Chi Manipulation, etcetera.

Canon

An official Dragon Ball timeline has never been officially revealed, although there are official dates to every major event in the series that could comprise together a major “Dragon Ball timeline.” However, there is still much confusion in the fanbase about what should be considered “canon” and what shouldn’t.

“Canon” in Dragon Ball is an incredibly complex topic that nobody can completely agree on, although the common misconception in the series is that any new material in the series that contradicts old material, should overwrite that old material. This is not the case;

For instance, many people will concede that the original Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z manga, written by Akira Toriyama, are the main canon and cannot be overwritten. However, in the end of Dragon Ball Z, Bulma states that she had not seen Goku in five years, in between training trips, which heavily goes against the time placements for Dragon Ball Super. Along with this, a lot of the events during Dragon Ball Super make no sense to happen in between the 10 year timeskip, especially since the final arc is noted as the "Peaceful World Saga", implying no real danger happened in those 10 years.

People will also claim that Dragon Ball Super is more canon than any other material due to the fact that Toriyama himself has worked on it and it is called “canon”; although this is disregarding the fact that Toriyama has also worked on GT, and both Super and GT are seen together on a Dragon Ball history exhibit. To put it bluntly, they are at immense odds with each other.

Thankfully, due to an event seen in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, we know that GT and Super are actually alternate timelines to one another, and so you can come to the understanding that they are both equally canon within their own separate branches. The same would go for the Dragon Ball Z anime (which Toriyama also assisted in the creation of, to an extent); anything that goes against the established canon, is an “alternate timeline” of sorts, and anything that doesn’t can be considered supplemental.

Primary Canon

This is material that is considered the main canon, of which every other material is based upon, and cannot be contradicted.

  • Dragon Ball: Chapter #1 (Bloomers and the Monkey King) - #519 (Farewell, Dragon World!)

Supplemental Canon

This is material that is not considered to be the main canon due to few contradictions, although it does fit in places. In places where it does not contradict the Primary Canon, it can be slotted in and taken into consideration.

  • Toei Animation’s Dragon Ball: Episode #1 (The Secret of the Dragon Balls) - #153 (The End, The Beginning)
  • Toei Animation’s Dragon Ball Z: Episode #1 (The New Threat) - #291 (Goku’s New Journey)
    • Dragon Ball Z: Bardock – The Father of Goku
    • Dragon Ball Z: History of Trunks
  • Dragon Ball Z Kai: Episode 1 (Prologue to Battle! The Return of Goku!) - #167 (Even Stronger! Goku’s Dream is Never-Ending!)

Secondary Canon

This is material that cannot co-exist with one another, but can individually be slotted into the Primary Canon, albeit sometimes with a few contradictions. These can be considered alternate timelines.

  • Dragon Ball Online
  • Dragon Ball Heroes
  • Dragon Ball Xenoverse
    • Dragon Ball: The Breakers
  • Dragon Ball GT: Episode #1 (A Devastating Wish) - #64 (Until We Meet Again)
    • Dragon Ball GT: A Hero’s Legacy
  • Dragon Ball Super: Episode #1 (The Peace Reward – Who Will Get the 100 Million Zeni?) - #131 (A Miraculous Conclusion! Farewell, Goku! Until We Meet Again!)
    • Dragon Ball Super: Broly
    • Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero
    • Super Dragon Ball Heroes: Episode #1 (Goku vs. Goku! A Transcendent Battle Begins on the Prison Planet!) - ???
  • Dragon Ball Super: Chapter #1 (God of Destruction’s Premonition) - ???
    • Jaco the Galactic Patrolman
    • Dragon Ball Minus
  • Dragon Ball Films: Movie #1 (Curse of the Blood Rubies) - Movie #4 (Path to Power)
  • Dragon Ball Z Films: Movie #1 (Dead Zone) - Movie #15 (Resurrection F)

Tertiary Canon

This is material that either fits outside of the Primary Canon through means of existing outside of time, is a retelling made for a video game, or is a reboot of the series as a whole. These pieces can either fit in the Primary Canon or not, though they are so far removed that it doesn’t matter. Some of these could thus be considered non-canon.

  • Dragon Ball Video Games (ie. Dragon Ball Z Attack of the Saiyans, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai, etcetera)
  • Nekomajin

Non-Canon

This material fully does not fit with the continuity no matter how it's handled and thus should not be used at all in canon discussions.

  • Dragonball Evolution
  • J-Stars Victory Vs.
  • Jump Force

Verse Scaling

Dragon Ball

A heavy amount of scaling from the verse comes from characters power levels, and as such the speed and attack potency of characters comes from this.

Dragon Ball GT

Most characters that are comparable to base Son Goku are Solar System level as he can fight someone stronger then Majin Buu in base form. Anyone comparable to Super Saiyan 4 Son Goku is Solar System level through the multipliers increasing his power to this point.

Dragon Ball Super

Any character comparable to post-Beerus fight Son Goku is Galaxy level where he absorbed the Super Saiyan God form, making it his base form[1], in his Super Saiyan God state, he shook the entire universe which was calculated at this. If one is comparable to Super Saiyan Blue Goku during the Universe 6 vs Universe 7 arc, they are Galaxy level+, through multipliers increasing his power this high. If one is comparable to Super Saiyan Blue Goku during Goku Black Saga they are Multi-Galaxy level through his strength increases making him at least 1.5 times stronger then before. By the Tournament of Power, anyone comparable to Ultra Instinct Son Goku is Supercluster level, as Ultra Instinct makes his power this high. Keeping up with Super Saiyan Blue Goku gives one Massively FTL speed, as they're this many times faster then 22nd Budokai Kid Goku.

Movies

For the movies their scaling depends on the time period it's meant to take place in canon Dragon Ball.

Dead Zone
Dead Zone is the only film that takes place after the end of Dragon Ball and before the beginning of Dragon Ball Z.

The World's Strongest
Due to Goku’s dōgi having a "Kame" mark on the breast and a "Kaio" mark on the back, this is an event from after the battle with Vegeta but before Goku's arrival on Planet Namek. Gohan has a flashback to when Piccolo defended him from Nappa's attack.

The Tree of Might
This film occurs (though not literally) after Goku arrived on Namek but before the final showdown with Frieza.

Lord Slug
Daizenshuu 6 notes that the movie takes place after Goku's arrival on Namek (at the time when he is in the midst of battle) but before the final showdown with Frieza, and Goku's transformation into a Super Saiyan.

This film presumably takes place at least one year after the events of Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might; when Lord Slug is reading Bulma's mind, one of the images is Krillin, Bulma, and Oolong summoning Shenron with the outfits they wear at the beginning of The Tree of Might. Additionally, the dragon Icarus also appears in the film who was originally introduced in The Tree of Might.

Cooler's Revenge
This movie takes place after Future Trunks first appears but before the Androids arrive.

The film's opening depicts the climax of Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku in Age 737 where Bardock attacks Frieza with his Final Spirit Cannon only for it to be consumed by Frieza's Supernova which destroys him and Planet Vegeta as Kakarot's Attack Ball heads towards Earth during which it is detected by Cooler's Spaceship though Cooler stops his men from destroying it, unaware that the Saiyan inside it would one day defeat Frieza.

Super Android 13!
Super Android 13! takes place after Android 17 and Android 18 were activated and killed Dr. Gero, and after Goku fully recovered from the Heart Virus. Daizenshuu 6 states that the movie takes place after Dr. Gero's death (as shown in the movie's opening) but before Cell reaches his Perfect form, which would place it before Goku brings the Saiyans to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

The Return of Cooler
From Goku's mark-less gi, Dende being Earth's Guardian, and Vegeta transforming into a Super Saiyan, we can infer that this is an event from between when the Cell Games were announced and their opening.

Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan
The events of this movie take place around the time of the final showdown with Cell, before the Cell Games. Though Son Goku and Son Gohan don't seem to have mastered super saiyan as they aren't in the form the entire time during the movie and need to transform into it.

Bojack Unbound
This movie takes place several months after Cell's defeat at the Cell Games because Future Trunks has returned and it was said that he defeated the future Androids.

Broly - Second Coming
As it is a sequel to Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan this film takes place 7 years after Broly's defeat at the hands of Goku on New Planet Vegeta.

The film's events take place a short time before the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament begins, as Goku is still deceased, Gohan has developed a friendship with Videl and Goten can fly, although Goten seems to know his father, despite only meeting him for the first time at the tournament.

Bio-Broly
This film takes place after the conclusion of the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, during the time the Z Fighters were busy dealing with Majin Buu, thus making it a movie-only story.

Fusion Reborn
The movie's events occur during the Majin Buu Saga, roughly before the Majin Buu conflict reaches its climax with the advent of Super Buu. When Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan 3, he says the fight with Majin Buu was the only time he had ever been pushed so far.

It is shown on Videl's watch that the movie takes place on a Saturday, the 16th, which is at least 9 days after the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament (which took place on May 7 of Age 774).

Wrath of the Dragon
This film is set after the conclusion of Majin Buu's defeat and peace has returned to Earth. According to Daizenshuu 7, it takes place in approximately Age 774.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse

The powers mainly follow the canon and Dragon Ball GT power system up until Xenoverse 2 end game, where anyone that can fight with the Future Warrior of Xenoverse 2 is Universe level as they defeated final form Mira, who absorbed all the power from Tokitoki's egg, which can hatch entire timelines.
