Soma, please understand. If the darkness draws you in... I have no choice but to destroy you.
~ Julius Belmont to Soma Cruz

Background

Born in 1980, Julius Belmont was the distant descendant of the legendary Richter Belmont. Since Richter gave up the Vampire Killer whip after his possession by Shaft, the Belmont Clan had been hidden away in the shadows and without their own whip for nearly two hundred years. Miraculously, however, after Jonathan Morris’s time wielding the whip, it appeared back in the Belmont’s hands.

Nearly a hundred years had passed since Dracula’s resurrection, and subsequent defeat, at the hands of Quincy Morris in 1897. A seer foretold the resurrection of Dracula was imminent, and that he would be returning at full power. A war was starting, which would come to be known as the War of 1999.

Julius Belmont came prepared for Dracula’s resurrection with the Vampire Killer whip, and stormed Dracula’s Castle. Julius faced down the Dark Lord in a legendary battle, and was finally able to slay him, fully defeating the vampire and sealing him away in the eclipse. After 900 years of conflict, Dracula was defeated forever. Julius Belmont kept the Vampire Killer whip within Dracula’s Castle, to help keep Dracula’s magic power from ever returning.

Julius, unfortunately, was inflicted with horrible amnesia, and could only remember the first letter of his first name. For the next thirty years, Julius would go on living under the alias of “J,” until 2035 when Dracula’s Castle rose once again. Feeling compelled to enter the castle, Julius’s memory was restored more and more as he traversed it.

Finally realizing who he was, Julius recovered the Vampire Killer whip and planned on discovering why Dracula’s Castle had risen. Unfortunately, Julius came across a boy named Soma Cruz, who was recently revealed to be the reincarnation of Count Dracula.

Julius fought Soma with plans to kill him, but realized Soma’s true intentions and stopped. Leaving the rest of the mission up to Soma, Julius left the castle. Nearly a year later, however, a new plot began that Julius was pulled into.

With new “Dracula successors” on the rise, Julius came to investigate and stop people from inheriting Dracula’s dark powers and becoming the new Dark Lord. Unfortunately, Julius was defeated by Dario Bossi, who was possessed by a fire demon called Agni. Once again leaving Soma to solve the plot, Julius promised that he would come in to stop Soma if anything bad were to happen and he was to revert to the Dark Lord.

Personality

  • Serious and Responsible: Julius is one of the most serious Belmonts, bearing the immense responsibility of being the first in two hundred years to defeat Dracula. His resolute nature is evident even when suffering from amnesia, as he remains committed to preventing Dracula’s return. His unwavering resolve leads him to confront even his friend Soma Cruz, promising to destroy him if he succumbs to the Dark Lord's power.
  • Humble and Stoic: Despite his status and formidable abilities, Julius is notably humble. Upon encountering Soma in Dracula’s Castle, he merely shrugs off Soma’s astonishment at his survival. He carries himself with dignity, rarely boasting about his strength.
  • Supportive and Compassionate: While Julius maintains his stern demeanor, he also displays a caring side. He offers Soma unwavering support in his final battle against Chaos, showing that his dedication to protecting others goes beyond simply destroying evil.
  • Pragmatic Combatant: Julius’s combat style mirrors his personality — efficient and disciplined. Unlike others who may rely on elaborate techniques, he uses only the essential sub-weapons of a vampire hunter, reflecting his belief in fighting with purpose and restraint. Even during his fierce duel with Soma, Julius holds back, acknowledging that the true power of a Belmont far exceeds what he demonstrated.

Appearance

  • Looks:

Julius Belmont is a tall, imposing man with a rugged appearance, reflecting his role as a battle-hardened vampire hunter. His brown hair is somewhat unkempt, and he sports a long, dark brown coat with gold trimmings. His facial expression is often stern and determined, signifying his unwavering resolve. Even though his appearance shows signs of age and experience, his physical form remains strong and capable.

  • Regular Clothes:

Julius’s attire is both practical and symbolic of his Belmont lineage. He wears a long, sleeveless brown coat, with golden designs that highlight his noble heritage. Beneath the coat, he has a black shirt and dark brown pants, with sturdy boots suitable for traversing treacherous environments. A dark blue sash is tied around his waist, providing a subtle contrast to his otherwise earth-toned ensemble. His gloves and bracers further emphasize his combat readiness.

  • Special Clothes:

While Julius does not wear any elaborate or ceremonial clothing, the most significant element of his appearance is the Vampire Killer whip — an ancestral weapon passed down through the Belmont family. This legendary weapon represents his legacy and is a key part of his identity as a vampire hunter. During his battle with Soma Cruz, Julius refrains from using the holy properties of the whip, signifying his unwillingness to fight Soma with his full strength. This decision is reflected not only in his combat style but also in the absence of the Holy element from his sub-weapons, further symbolizing his belief in Soma's inner goodness.

Codex Statistics

Grade: S (Julis is the well-known strongest vampire hunter[14])

Tier: At least 7-C, Far Higher with Sheer Will

Cardinality: Finite

Dimensionality: 3-D

Attack Potency: At least Town level (Potency) (Julius destroyed[15] 1999 Dracula by himself for good[16]. Noted by 2000s Alucard that Julius is the strongest of them all[17] making him far superior to Golem from Castlevania Judgement, as he died to a random unknown hunter after his return from the time rift[18]. Golem with his ultimate can shoot out a mouth blast that vaporizes everything it touches as far as the eye can see getting these results[19]. Can harm and fight against enemies stronger than characters who can take hits from neutron bomb[20], that have a yield range of 1-10 kilotons of TNT. Julius' power alone had Graham just from seeing him turn and run away[21], despite Graham absorbing the power of the castle, and inheriting Dracula's powers[22]. While holding back to the point of Soma commenting that his strength wasn't even that of a vampire hunter, his grand cross caused the parts of the castle to start falling in the background[23]), Far Higher with Sheer Will (Simon claims that the Belmonts and Morrises did not defeat Dracula because of the Vampire Killer, with the reason behind heroes' capacity to fight against evil lying not in their physical strength but the noble desire to drive away evil and usher in all that is good, the desire to protect the world for all of humanity, with the courage to fight to protect others being the true essence of a hero and a Belmont's strength, with this even applying for other heroes such as Shanoa, Maria, Charlotte, and even Arikado[24]. Alucard notes that having something to protect surpasses the limits of strength[25])

Durability: At least Town level, Far Higher with Sheer Will

Striking Strength: At least Town Class (Potency), Far Higher with Sheer Will

Lifting Strength: At least Class 10 (The Belmonts are known as the most powerful and renowned vampire hunters within the world of Castlevania[26], during and before Trevor's time[27], the Belmont's were feared because of their immense power[28], which should make them superior to Hector's Battle-Type innocent devils who can move entire tree logs that are blocking roads out of the way[29] where logs can weigh around 15 to 5 tons[30] and Hector's battle-type innocent devils can lift open large iron doors that "no man could force open"[31]), Far Higher with Sheer Will

Travel Speed: Superhuman regularly (Comparable to Leon Belmont, who was able to escape Walter's Castle while running from the top floor to the entrance, before the entire structure collapsed[32]). At most Faster Than Light through full Aura (Comparable to Juste Belmont where Juste travels so fast that a light projection of him is left behind, enveloping with a blue aura around him[33]. Julius himself can move so fast that his own afterimages cannot keep up with him[34]), Far Higher with Sheer Will

Attack Speed: At most Faster Than Light (Can tag 1999 Dracula, who serves as the absolute evil, the opposite to God[35], where for God to be perfectly good, there must be a being of perfect darkness[36], being the entity opposite to God[37], making him faster then enemies such as the Sky Fish who moves so fast that it appears as a beam of light and is only slowed down when time is stopped[38] and the White Demon, who can move at the speed of light at short distances[39]), Far Higher with Sheer Will

Reaction Speed: At most Faster Than Light, Far Higher with Sheer Will

Stamina: Superhuman (Julius Belmont led the War of 1999 against Dracula’s forces of evil, conquering the castle much like his ancestors and destroying Dracula for good. Even 30 years later, when reaching middle age, Julius is still about to conquer Dracula’s Castle, and contend with Dracula’s reincarnation, Soma Cruz)

Knowledge: Grandmaster level (Can fight and defeat 1999 Dracula, where he was a genius tactician as Mathias, who they called "Cronqvist the Wise"[41]. Trevor was the one that left behind many of the fighting techniques the Belmonts use today with Richter noting that Trevor refined those fighting techniques that have been handed down through the Belmont line[42], making all of the Belmont & Morris line have fighting techniques refined by Trevor and greater)

Powers and Techniques

Belmont Bloodline, which includes:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics (The Belmonts are known as the most powerful and renowned vampire hunters within the world of Castlevania[43]. During and before Trevor's time[44], the Belmont's were feared because of their immense power[45]), Acrobatics (Due to Belmonts superhuman nature, they possess very athletic and acrobatic bodies, examples include Richter easily flipping over Death's scythe attack while also jumping around and fighting Death while on a moving horse carriage[46]. Richter also showcases this with his boss fight in Dracula X where he must jump across platforms while also fighting against Dracula[47]. Julius showcasing extreme acrobatic leaps to reach the top of a castle drawbridge[48]), Genius Intelligence (Belmonts are trained and some of the best users of various sub-weapons, which in Castlevania requires one to have a high intelligence to be able to do[49]), Martial Arts (Striking Arts; Trevor left behind all of his fighting techniques to each new Belmont clan member and Morris clan member[50]), Weapon Mastery (No matter the Belmont, they have all showcase a natural gift in using weapons, with Christopher showcasing the tools of his family's destiny are always the axe, dagger, cross, & stop watch[51]. Many of the famous Belmont weapons were left behind by Trevor[52], with him noting them to be the axe, dagger, cross, holy water, and stop watch[53]), Sheer Will (The Belmonts are all ones with strong courage and willpower, where having a strong constitution dictates and influences how fast one can recover from status effects such as poison or curse[54]. Belmonts are pillars of strength, willing to keep fighting even when weakened greatly and having their existence slowly erased from history[55]. Simon claims that the Belmonts and Morrises did not defeat Dracula because of the Vampire Killer, with the reason behind heroes' capacity to fight against evil lying not in their physical strength but the noble desire to drive away evil and usher in all that is good, the desire to protect the world for all of humanity, with the courage to fight to protect others being the true essence of a hero and a Belmont's strength, with this even applying for other heroes such as Shanoa, Maria, Charlotte, and even Arikado[56]. The Belmonts will is far greater than even the likes of the Fernandez/Belnades Clan, including Camilla Fernandez, where its noted she had great spirit and struggled mightily against the curse before she became a vampire[57]), Aura (Belmonts release a glow of aura around them[58], that envelops their body[59]), Non-Standard Interaction (Metaphysical Interaction; Belmonts can interact with ghosts with their whips and sub-weapons[60]. Blood Interaction; Can harm and kill enemies made of blood[65]. Abstract Interaction; Belmonts can interact with and kill Death[66], where Death is death, being the absolute presence, the awe, the religion, and the dark god[67]. He refers to death itself as him[68]. Noting that he is completely death and human death is only a part of Chaos[69]. Olrox when seeing Death fight serious notes that he senses the overwhelming existence of death and states that death really exists[70]), Nullification (Pain Immunity Nullification; The Belmonts can make the White Dragon visibly react to pain[71] and scream out in pain, where it is an immortal being immune to pain and suffering[72]. Abstract Nullification; The Belmonts can nullify and destroy the scythes from Death, who can use his scythes to kill abstractions such as distance and sound[73]. Death decides who lives and who dies[74]), Immortality Negation (Ageless & Life and Death Immunity; The Belmonts can render immortal skeleton death gods like Death, mortal, having him bleed from attacks, giving him mortality as shown when Death dies to his own scythe cutting off his head and having blood spurt out, something not possible as a skeleton[75]. The Belmonts can kill Death to the point that he requires Mathias to survive in order for him to rise from the dead[76]. Death is a being unconstrained by mortality[77]), Resurrection Bypassing (The Belmonts can kill zombies[78], who are corpses brought back to life from the power of hate[79]), Enhanced Senses (Belmonts such as Trevor could sense the power of a Belmont within Simon and also could tell he did not seem to grasp the fundamentals of combat in Judgment's time rift[80]), Extrasensory Perception (Belmonts can feel others being in an area, such as Simon Belmont being able to feel Trevor Belmont is in the time rift[81]. Leon could sense and feel that Joachim Armster was a vampire[82]. Leon could sense the rage from a Vampire Killer[83]. Trevor could sense a bad omen approaching[84]. Julius when fighting Soma could feel the evil spirit within Soma but also Soma's good spirit[91]), Precognition (Premonitions; Belmonts can have future premonitions through their dreams, such as Christopher dreaming about Dracula stealing his son and turning him evil, far before he even had one[92]), Magic (Due to coming into contact with Rinaldo and gaining the whip, Rinaldo granted him a magic amulet[93]. where Leon gained magical energy that would naturally be passed down to all of his descendants[94]. Belmonts such as Julius naturally have magical powers due to this[95], along with Juste having magical powers deriving from the Fernandez (Belnades) family[96]), Principle Manipulation (Magic comes from alchemy, a field that experiments with the principles of God's creation of the world[97]), Afterimage Creation (Belmonts can envelop themselves in an aura of light that allows them to move so fast, their light projections cannot keep up[98]), Glyph Creation & Portal Creation (The Belmont blood acts as a key to[99] the infinite corridor[100]), Empowerment & Holy Manipulation (Belmonts can amplify weapons, Leon holding The Whip of Alchemy had it become more powerful then before, with Rinaldo stating that the whip fits Leon better than it fits him, despite him being the one to make the Whip of Alchemy[101]. Medusa even noted that it wasn't so powerful before believing the whip gained its complete form[102]. Belmonts can call upon the power of the light and use it to amplify their strength to be stronger and faster[103], this is also shown with Trevor Belmont's ultimate in Castlevania Judgement[104]. The Belmonts can use their stored energy (hearts) and transfer it into subweapons to make regular weapons as strong as they are along with magically enhancing them[105]), Invulnerability (Metaphysical Invulnerability; Belmonts have an inborn self-defense ability known as "Burning Mode" which makes them invincible and raises their status to twice the normal level[106]), Statistics Boost (Belmonts get stronger from hearing of someone's grief, wanting to help them[107]), Reactive Power Level (As Dracula grows stronger each time he revives, the Belmonts have had to keep up, evolving to be powerful even without the strength of the Vampire Killer[108]), Sealing (Metaphysical Sealing; Belmonts can capture the spirits of enemies equal or greater to an area boss and use their abilities from their soul[109]), Nullification (Sealing Nullification; Belmonts such as Julius can completely destroy barriers, however depending on how strong the barrier is, they may have no more energy to fight[110])

Resistances to Extreme Colds (Belmonts can walk in ice cold rooms without much worry[111]), Extreme Heats (Belmonts can travel in boiling hot rooms without much effect[112]. They can also fight enemies such as the Flame Elemental who emerges from the lavas of the room with the whole room being so hot it's colored red[113]. Richter showcases this where he moves around in a burning city without much effect or limitation to his movements[114]), Absorption (Belmonts can fight and take hits from the mist[115], a creature that swallows up the living[116]), Life-Force Absorption (Belmonts can take hits from the Spirit[117], which is an evil spirit that sucks up people's life energy[118]), Corruption (Belmonts can be bitten by vampires without instantly turning[119]), Helfire Attacks (Belmonts can take hits from the Flame Demon, a demon that wields the fires of Hell[120]), Status Effect Inducement, Poison Manipulation, & Curse Manipulation (The Belmonts are all ones with strong courage and willpower, where having a strong constitution dictates and influences how fast one can recover from status effects such as poison or curse[121]), Paralysis Inducement (Belmonts can be paralyzed[122], and slowly recover from the effects of it[123]), Attack Reflection (Belmonts can[124] hit Dracula[125] with different[126] projectile[127] attacks[128], this extends to even Morrises'[129], where Dracula's mere rib bone reflects all projectiles back[130]), Petrification (Belmonts can[131] take hits[132], from Medusa heads[133] who can turn one into stone upon contacting them[134]. Belmonts can[135] can break out of[136], being petrified[137]), Erasure (Metaphysical Erasure; The blood of the Belmont Clan can keep one's spirit from being erased from Dracula's magic[138]), Time Stop (1-T; Belmonts are unaffected by time being stopped[139]. With time in Castlevania being so potent that not even eternity can withstand time[140], along with even artificial life being subject to the laws of time[141]), Poison Manipulation (Belmonts can take hits from the poison zombie[142], which spews a deadly poison that can rot flesh on contact[143]), Fear Manipulation (Belmonts can be within Dracula's presence along with holding and using Dracula's rib bone where Dracula's mere rib bone is enough to make[144] an ordinary hero feel like a spineless coward[145]), Light Manipulation & Holy Manipulation (Belmonts have a natural resistance to holy elemental attacks[146]), Absolute Zero (Belmonts can take ice from the frost demon[147], a demon that wields absolute cold[148] and a total command of cold[149], making it superior to the likes of Cyril who can wield absolute zero and is seen as a standard ability from a creature of the night[150]), Essence Manipulation (Belmonts can take hits from Succubus[151], who can suck up a person's essence[152]), Sleep Manipulation (Belmonts are able to resist sleep based abilities, such as Leon resisting Walter's attempt to put him to sleep[153]), Death Manipulation & Fate Manipulation (Temporal Fate; Belmonts cannot[154] be killed[155] by the[156] likes of[157] Death and his scythes[158], who is noted to govern the fate of death[159], being noted to have the power to govern the end of all living things[160], and can use his scythes to kill abstractions such as distance and sound[161]), Law Manipulation (Belmonts are unaffected by contracts, where Renon had Reinhardt unknowingly agree to a contract with Satan where if he spends over 30 thousand gold pieces, his soul is forfeit, with Reinhardt being able to kill Renon and negate the contract altogether[162], where contracts are made to be absolute and bind one to it's agreements[163])

Equipment

Whips

  • Vampire Killer: The complete form of the Whip of Alchemy, infused with the soul of Sara Trantoul. It can slay anything related to the vampires. This whip would be passed down to the rest of the Belmont Clan, and used to slay Dracula countless times.

Sub-Weapons

  • Knife: A collection of throwing daggers in Julius’ possession, which can be thrown at enemies at high speeds.
  • Axe: An axe made with silver, which Julius uses to throw at his enemies.
  • Cross: This is a boomerang, which is shaped like a holy cross. It returns to Simon after being thrown.
  • Holy Water: A jar of holy water that erupts into flames once it is released out of its container.

Notable Techniques

Omnia Vanitas

Omnia Vanitas, Latin for "All is Vanity" (色即是空 Shikisokuzekū, meaning "All is nothing, nothing is all" in Japanese), is an evasive technique utilized by Julius Belmont in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. This ability grants Julius invincibility while allowing him to travel a considerable distance forward, turning around mid-move. By using this technique, Julius can pass through enemies and obstacles, including the firewalls that block access to chests and certain passages, without taking damage.

In Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Omnia Vanitas is essential for bypassing the waterfall leading to the Forbidden Area. Additionally, Julius can chain the move in mid-air to continue his evasion, slightly raising his leg higher than when performing it on the ground.

Comet Kick

Julius leaps into the air with great agility, propelling himself upward before executing a powerful diagonal kick aimed downward at his target. The kick is swift and forceful, displaying his exceptional strength and precision. As he ascends, he positions his body to prepare for the strike, using his momentum to deliver a devastating blow to any enemy or obstacle in his path. This move is effective for striking foes located below him or for breaking through barriers that may block his progress.

Grand Cross

During the boss fight in Aria of Sorrow, when Julius sustains enough damage, he retreats to the central area of the room, positioning himself for a powerful counterattack. Slowly, he begins to levitate, drawing Soma toward him with an unseen force. As this occurs, the very castle in the background starts to tremble, with pieces of it crumbling and falling apart, heightening the tension of the moment.

Julius then unleashes his devastating Grand Cross, channeling a massive surge of divine energy. This attack erupts in a colossal blast, dealing significant damage to Soma over seven consecutive strikes. Due to Soma's tendency to flinch when hit, combined with the constant pull toward Julius, it becomes almost inevitable that Soma will endure all of the hits after the first strike. Once the Grand Cross concludes, Julius descends back to the floor, signaling the start of the second phase of their battle.

Other

Standard Tactics: Julius utilizes various whip strikes, fast afterimage movement, along with his subweapons in combat. He will also use Grand Cross.

Weaknesses: If Julius feels a good spirit in one, he will hold back immensely[288]. Julius is unable to use magic seals[289].

Note

Trivia

  • In Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow, Julius never uses the weak Dagger, and instead uses the powerful Grand Cross.
  • In Aria of Sorrow, even though Soma Cruz can stand on the back of a Catoblepas or a Gorgon safely, Julius cannot.
  • It is possible to fight Julius in Aria of Sorrow at some very low levels: Level 17 if the player doesn't use glitches and Level 4 (432 EXP) if the player uses them.
  • Julius is the only Belmont whose destiny was to fight Dracula and has not yet had an accompanying game portraying this event.
  • The name Julius refers to the month of July, the seventh month of the year, which described in the prophecy of Nostradamus, would be in the seventh month that the arrival of the King of Terror was predicted, which was the total resurrection of Dracula.
  • Even though Julius was incapable of using Magic Seals, he still managed to defeat several monsters that required them. Julius implied that he was able to do so by destroying them before they could reconstitute themselves (with Soma believing this to be impossible).
  • Julius is one of the three character to be the main character in an alternate character mode in more than one game. The other two are Richter Belmont and Maria Renard.
  • While Julius doesn't make a cameo in Dead by Daylight, he is mentioned in Dracula's lore. It is said that he defeated Dracula in the Battle of 1999, but Dracula didn't actually die, being engulfed by a fog (the Entity) and then transported to a place where he could continue his dark vengeance against Humanity.
  • Julius may be the eldest of the Belmonts to be called into active battle. In Dawn of Sorrow, he is 56 according to the instruction booklet, which indicates he was born in 1980. This would place him at age 19, the exact same age as his ancestor Richter at the time of Rondo of Blood, in the battle of 1999. This last fact should be kept in mind because, like the other Belmonts, he was at his prime during his biggest adventure, but the battle of 1999, referred to as the Demon Castle War, has not yet been made into a game.
  • It is likely that Julius would have continued the bloodline as his ancestors, but the amnesia he received after the battle of 1999 made him forget the importance of having a child. Thus, when the prophecy of the castle appearing in 2035 and the cult of Celia in 2036 threatened the world, he was forced to go back into battle himself.
  • Julius may have a sister with Kokoro Belmont from one of the playable characters in Otomedius Excellent, though its canonicity at the moment is dubious.

Codex Statistics Questions

Q: Shouldn't the characters be around tier 2 for defeating the Time Reaper who would've destroyed the very fabric of time[295], attempted to destroy the specific era of time[296], cause all beings everywhere to disappear, forever[297] and that the age was on the verge of collapse[298]?

A: We actually never get a direct outright method of Time Reaper's plan for doing this, from what Aeon mentions to Golem, if the Time Rift is not erased, all beings everywhere will disappear, forever[299], implying that it's the Time Rift causing this, this is further backed up by the fact that in Time Reaper's boss fight, there is a vortex in the background consuming everything[300], meaning this is an overtime feat that scales to no one physically.

Q: Shouldn't they get tier 2 for Dracula's influence destabilizing the flow of time[301]?

A: This is a potent ability but has nothing to do with Attack Potency, there is no quantification for "destabilizing the flow of time", along with this, even if it was taken as physically, then it would be overtime as the effects are not noticeable throughout most of Curse of Darkness.

Q: Shouldn't Dracula and by proxy anyone that scales to him get tier 2 for him being able to sustain his castle?

A: This goes under our Stabilization Feats standards, which treats sustaining feats are non-combat applicable Attack Potency normally, though in Dracula's case the Castle is speficially powered by the existence of a Dark Lord, and doesn't necessarily need their strength to rise. In the Castlevania novel, the castle rose without a Dark Lord as an example. Along with this, no one scales to the collapse of the castle, in Curse of Darkness Hector would've died to the collapse of the castle if[302] Julia didn't come save him, and Isaac died within the castle[303]. In other cases the Castle does not collapse[304], but instead slowly fades away[305]. At the end of Dawn of Sorrow Soma Cruz and Genya Arikado (aka Alucard must escape the collapsing abyss.

Q: Shouldn't Castlevania characters that scale to Death have Infinite speed due to Death being able to kill distance itself with his attacks?

A: Killing distance to attack is not a speed feat, it's a method of Spatial Manipulation by circumventing and ignoring distance, while one can say the attack spawns on you instantly, this is not really something quantifiable. Along with this, it would only scale to characters comparable to Death during post-Dawn of Sorrow, as Soma notes Death is far faster than he remembered from his fight with him in Dawn of Sorrow[306].

Battle Records

4 - 2 - 0 - 1

  • Dark Lord Soma - Fight[310]
    • Conditions: Julius, Alucard, & Yoko Belnades all fought together against Dark Lord Soma.
    • Location: The Abyss
    • Note: This fight only occurs if the bad ending is reached in the main Dawn of Sorrow game and is thus not canonical as future sequel events do not cover it.

“What have you misunderstood? I am Death. Human death only comprises a part of chaos. They can come back again as zombies or skeletons, but without a soul, dead bodies cannot be revived. And ----- there is no reason to perform that.”
  70. Akumajo Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku "Those scythes constructed by magic did not turn towards Olrox or Michelle, every scythe then gathered near the youth’s body.
Then, those numerous blades made from magic overlapped with each other and with a powerful atrocious magic constructed a Death scythe in Death’s arm.
“This false castle……You shall fall into chaos as a thing that denies the existence of the [lord]……[death] shall pass judgment on your sins!”
Sensing the overwhelming existence of [death], Olrox again realized that the youth in front of him is [Death]------laughed out loud.
“interesting…… So, death really exists! Thus I’ll use all my power…… to shatter that thing called [death].”

“…… If so, why did you take power away from the crack in the eclipse’s seal? If you just intend to imitate like a monkey, isn’t your own power enough?”
Those were the emotionless words of Death.
In response, Olrox laughed his bold answer.
“As I’ve said, I would equally gain control over the human world and the source of Dracula’s power, chaos. I do not intend to obey someone else’s mind aside from my own. That includes you who were born out of chaos.”
    “……”
“You should be glad though to know yourself. Just by stealing power, my shameful monotonous time is over…… Even before Alucard appeared, just because I showed up and declared war on him.”
Olrox’s voice was mixed with a tinge of thin delight. He respectfully bowed to Death who completely killed his emotions.
“I would end the reincarnation cycle of this demon castle. I who understood and was spun out of the stains of chaos, swear to rob that power with my hands. Now, yield.”
With Death’s reply, an explosive murderous intent rose.
Two bronze colored scythes much larger than usual appeared; it advanced to the space in between the two men with an intention to cut off Olrox’s head.
    Kill the distance-----
    Kill the sound-----
    Just, faster, soon, die.
It can be seen that the blades have certainly caught Olrox’s neck, but----- that is only an after image and the vampire is already at Death’s back.
    “……die.”
That was said by the enemy who called on his servants.
From the surrounding space, a group of purple bats rose, passed by Olrox’s arm with the speed of a bullet, attacking Death. However, Death did not show any gesture of avoiding them. He simply faced Olrox and sprayed out numerous scythes.

    “Only…… protect…… you……-----“
When he said those words he must say, the man’s soul already left his body-----becoming one of the floating spirits that wander the halls of the castle.
    However-----
    Fate did not allow it.
For those people who are involved with the demon castle, even the loneliness of death seemed half hearted-----
The man’s soul is pierced by a small scythe that flew in from somewhere. That scythe did not exist physically. It was a diabolic blade created by some magic and possessed a strong soul."

It was a whip that was soaked in blood in some places.
“I picked this up at the garden and I believe this is yours, right? Old man Julius also uses a whip. I came here just to deliver this to ya.”
Whoosh, receiving the thrown whip, Michelle noticed that it was the magical whip that serves as Curtis’ weapon.
“That’s great……! Curtis! With this your power-----“
In order to shake away the confusion she had a while ago, Michelle raised her voice, but-----
“Sorry, but…… with my current self, I could not handle it.”
“……? What are you talking about? Curtis……”
was he still confused, Michelle made him grip his whip.
Snap, some kind of popping sound rang and Michelle felt a light shock in her arm.
    “Uh……!?”
What happened, she directed her eyes on the origin of the shock-----
A part of the whip’s handle had a rotten like disintegration-----
A part of Curtis’ hand was burned, and that skin immediately returned back to as before.
    ----- No way……
