~ Dracula Wraith to Juste Belmont

Background

The Dracula Wraith was an evil spirit spawned from Count Dracula’s remains in conjunction with Maxim Kischine’s mind. This evil spirit, having been born from Dracula’s remains, takes on Dracula’s form and possesses a small bit of the Dark Lord’s intelligence.

After the Dracula Wraith was created from contact between Maxim and the Dracula remains, it went on to house itself within Maxim’s mind and take control of him, developing a persona within him that came to be known as Dark Maxim. With Dracula’s Wraith risen, Dracula’s Castle rose with him; furthermore, Maxim’s split personalities spawned a parallel dimension, a complete copy of the castle, known as Castle B.

Now as Dark Maxim, the Dracula Wraith headed back to Maxim’s hometown and kidnapped Maxim’s childhood friend, Lydie Erlanger. He then took her to the castle, which he did to draw out Maxim’s friend, Juste Belmont. As expected, Juste entered the castle immediately and searched for Lydie.

Eventually as Juste was through with traversing both Castle A and Castle B, he reached the room where Lydie was being held. The Dracula Wraith revealed himself within Maxim, and was finally forced out of his body by Maxim’s willpower. Realizing that he needs blood to achieve his completed form, the Dracula Wraith attacked Juste Belmont.

Unfortunately for it, the Dracula Wraith was completely destroyed and wiped from existence by Juste Belmont. Fully completed, the Dracula Wraith stated that the Belmont Clan would be cursed to fight for eternity, and then it was gone. The real Count Dracula would then be resurrected nearly 44 years later.

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics (Even the smallest creatures of the night can destroy a bridge[56], one of Dracula's bats easily destroyed a stone ground block[57]), Intimidation (Creatures of the nights appearances can cause one to have their body's cells cry out in terror[58]), Immortality (Ageless; The biggest hindrance to humans when attempting to accomplish something being their limited lifespans, a limitation that cannot be overcome, however dwellers of the darkness do not apply to the laws of the human world, ignoring such limitations[59]. Immortal Metaphysical Aspect; Creatures of the Night can continue to exist even as a spirit and use their spirit form to form bodies out of inanimate material around them[60]), Acausality (Causality Immunity; All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[61]. The biggest hindrance to humans when attempting to accomplish something being their limited lifespans, a limitation that cannot be overcome, however dwellers of the darkness do not apply to the laws of the human world, ignoring such limitations[62]), Free Will (Creatures of the Night do not follow the hand of God and instead choose of their own free will[63]), Empowerment (Creatures of the night are empowered by the night[64], becoming stronger when it's night time[65]), Evolution (Creatures of chaos can inherit evil natures[66] awakening into stronger enemies with new abilities and less weaknesses[67]), Resurrection (Self-Resurrection; Creatures of chaos can be brought back to life from the power of hate[68]. This has also been shown with slain heads reviving as an angry wraith[69]), Regeneration (Mid-Godly overtime; Even the castle from Castlevania is a Creature of Chaos, [70] where they are always rebirth from Chaos with each rebirth, the creatures takes a new form[71], with this state being referred to as a "regeneration cycle"[72]), Invisibility (Creatures of Chaos possess a natural aura of darkness, which makes one unable to see those with an aura of darkness by the naked eye[73]), Time Manipulation (Passive; All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[74]), Darkness Manipulation & Subjective Reality (Creatures of chaos very existence causes dark powers to flow beyond the control of the Elgos' grimoires, due to them collecting documented information on Dracula and his castle. Causing their power to materialize in the real world in the form of monsters[75]. With the real world and world of grimoires being one and the same[76]), Text Manipulation & Plot Manipulation (Passive; Creatures of the night's dark powers allowed them to rewrite the Grimoires to greatly strengthen their dark powers[77]. It is noted by Lucy that the "vital soul" of a monster is the cause of the grimoire chaos[78]. Their vital souls are causing the grimoires contents to be overwritten changing history to things such as Jonathan Morris is now at a disadvantage in battle[79], or Charlotte fading from existence due to them messing with the history of the Grimoires[80], Maria starting to fade because Richter's history is being rewritten[81], where if the books contents change the creatures magic will keep growing and eventually overflow into reality, causing the grimoire to fall into chaos and even more monsters materializing into the real world[82]. The text alterations also make the monsters stronger[83]. With the real world and world of grimoires being one and the same[84]), Law Manipulation (Creatures of Chaos can alter grimoires, which do not adhere to the laws of reality[85]), Power Modification (Creatures of the night alterations of the Grimoire can greatly limit the powers of those far stronger then them, such as Jonathan Morris' power being limited due to the alterations[86]. The Chaos of the Grimoire destabilized the magic of the others[87]).

Resistance to Ice Manipulation & Absolute Zero (All enemies in Castlevania III: Dracula's curse can eventually break out of being frozen from Sypha's ice magic[88]. Along with this to protect against ice attacks in series, one normally wears rings that help them resist against absolute zero[89]), Time Manipulation (All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[90]. With time in Castlevania being so potent that not even eternity can withstand time[91], along with even artificial life being subject to the laws of time[92]. Some creatures of chaos are immune to time stop, normally being boss level creatures[93]), Fate Manipulation (All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[94], with fate being a truth wound by time[95])

Superhuman Physical Characteristics (Vampires are considered far larger threats then standard creature of the night monsters[96]), Immortality (Ageless; Vampires defy God's decree that life should be limited, and exist for eternity[97], with Mathias noting he has eternal life[98]. Aeon notes that vampires exist for eternity[99]. Walter is noted to be a vampire that has eternal life[100]. The biggest hindrance to humans when attempting to accomplish something being their limited lifespans, a limitation that cannot be overcome, however dwellers of the darkness do not apply to the laws of the human world, ignoring such limitations[101]. Immortal Metaphysical Aspect; Vampires will someday come back to life despite them being killed due to being immortal[102]), Acausality (Causality Immunity; All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[103]. The biggest hindrance to humans when attempting to accomplish something being their limited lifespans, a limitation that cannot be overcome, however dwellers of the darkness do not apply to the laws of the human world, ignoring such limitations[104]), Free Will (Vampires do not follow the hand of God and instead choose of their own free will[105], defying God's decree[106]), Enhanced Senses (Vampires can smell that Reinhardt Scheneider and Carrie Fernandez smell different from the usual adventurer[107]), Surface Scaling (Vampires can stand on ceilings[108]), Flight (Vampires can either naturally levitate grow wings to fly[109], turn into a bat[110], or into mist[111]), Immersion (Vampires can infuse magic into paintings to increase their power[112]), Empowerment (Vampires are loved by the night, making them so powerful that vampires like Walter Bernhard never been defeated before Leon Belmont gained the vampire killer[113]. Noted by Leon that the night should help Joachim Armster as well due to him being a vampire, with the only reason it doesn't is due to Walter holding the ebony stone[114]), Resurrection (Even if one somehow manages to kill a vampire, they will someday come back to life despite them being killed due to being immortal[115]), Transformation (Shapeshifting; Vampires can assume the shape of a wolf, a bat or fog[116]. Vampires can disguise themselves as huamns[117]), Teleportation (Vampires possess the ability to teleport freely[118]. Even non-threatening vampires such as Rosa, fade out from view[119]), Power Suppression (Vampires can submerge their own vampiric powers if needed[120]), Life-Force Absorption (Vampires can consume one's lifeforce[121], allowing them to heal themselves through biting into a victim[122]), Vampirification (Vampires can turn others into vampires[123], Walter turned Rinaldo's daughter into a vampire[124]), Invisibility (Vampires possess natural aura of darkness, which makes one unable to see those with an aura of darkness by the naked eye[125]), Time Manipulation (Passive; All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[126]), Animal Manipulation (Bats serve under the control of vampires[127], being freely spawnned by any vampire[128]), Cloth Manipulation (A vampire's blood can transform clothes, such as Hector combining a vampire's blood with a prince's clothes to get Dracula's clothes[129]), Electricity Manipulation (Vampires can sometimes have electricity form around them as they transform[130]), Soul Manipulation (The candles in Castlevnia are people's souls that were taken by Death or by vampires[131]).

Resistance to Temperatures (Vampires bodies turn cold, with them feeling no heat[132]), Biological Manipulation (Vampires biological functions are no longer required for them[133]), Time Manipulation (All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[134]. With time in Castlevania being so potent that not even eternity can withstand time[135], along with even artificial life being subject to the laws of time[136]),Death Manipulation: "Death" loses all meaning for Vampires, as they[137] defy God's decree that life should be limited, and exist for eternity[138]. Where even if one "kills" a vampire they will simply just come back as they are not bound to death[139]), Fate Manipulation (All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[140], with fate being a truth wound by time[141]), Law Manipulation (Vampires defy God's decree that life should be limited, and exist for eternity[142])

Superhuman Physical Characteristics (Noted that Dracula's strength exceeds even that of a werewolf[143]), Intimidation (Put fear into Isaac who felt he spoke out of line from just a glance[144]. Dracula is noted to be the most terrfying creature in existence[145]), Large Size in some of his true forms (Supersized; Appeared this large when unleashing his true form against Reinhardt Scheneider/Carrie Fernandez[146]), Aura (Dracula merely pushing out his aura was enough to make Richter and Maria flinch[147]. Dracula's evil aura is far greater then the fake Dracula he sent to fight Reinhardt and Carrie[148]. Dark Lord Soma has a thick darkness and suffocating evil due to having Dracula's aura[149]. Dracula has a natural aura of Darkness around him[150]), Immortality (Ageless; Mathias through absorbing Walter's soul denied God's decree of limited life and lives for eternity[151]. Life and Death Immunity; Death serves Dracula with unfailing loyalty[152], where Death is noted to govern the fate of death[153], being noted to have the power to govern the end of all living things[154], and can use his scythes to kill abstractions such as distance and sound[155]), Reincarnation (Non-Cycle, Memory Remembrance; Despite being[156] killed for good by[157] Julius Belmont, Dracula's soul reincarnated into Soma Cruz[158]), Regeneration (At least Low-Godly normally; Freely burned away his body to fly out with his soul to create a new form[159]. Through this end he can gather the magic needed to revive through negative human emotions[188]. Repeated Resurrection, Resurrection of the Deceased; Through absorbing human blood, even on his corpse, he can come back to life[189]. Devil Forging has one to giving it a shape and soul, giving it a shell and applying stable power to the shell so the mass of energy without conscious can be transformed into a living devil[314]), Light Manipulation (Causes a beam of light to appear that he can teleport around with[315]), Blood Manipulation (Can spit out blood as an attack[316]. Can shoot out three bats to attack[323]. Sends out bats to attack for him[324]), Mind Manipulation (Dracula put Soleil Belmont under his vampire spell[325]. The suppressed desires of Maxim Kischine caused another spirit to be created due to him holding the remains of Dracula[326]. Dracula's remains alone are enough to consume their mind, even being noted by Barlowe that dominus devours the mind[327]. Not even the sacred blood of the Belmont Clan was enough to keep Albus from subcumming to the effects of the Dominus[328]), Memory Manipulation (Accepting the Dominus interferes with one's memories and emotions[329]. Dominus was the source that took Shanoa's memories[330]. Dracula's magic showed Hector visions of his past with a form of his child self trying to convince him to become a devil and promising to be friends if he does so[331]), Empathic Manipulation (Accepting the Dominus interferes with one's memories and emotions, stripping Shanoa of all of her emotions to the point that she could not shed a tear for Albus despite everything he did for her[332]), Fear Manipulation (Dracula's mere rib bone is enough to make[333] an oridnary hero feel like a spineless coward[334]), Death Manipulation (Metaphysical; One attempting to use the Dominus will cost them their life, Shanoa using it nearly killed her only being saved by Albus taking her place and having his soul fade away[335]), Weather Manipulation & Electricity Manipulation (Caused dark clouds to appear and came from a bolt of lightning[336]. Cause massive electricity around the area before appearing[337]. Causes multiple lightning bolts to rain down as he appears[338]. Sent down electricity attacks against Desmond[339]. The Curse also weakened Simon to where he was starting off with a leather whip, which is a weaker form the whip takes for inexperienced users[349]. After being defeated by Trevor and his friends, Dracula left a demonic curse that enshrouded all of Europe in misery and torment[350], this curse keeps festering even if Dracula dies, where Hector needed to put all of his life-force and energy into dispelling the curse, greatly tiring him to the point that he was ready to die in the collapse of the Castle if Julia did not come rescue him[351]. Along with this, even with the curse being removed, the curse was far too deep within people, making its mark hard to leave them, with some characters having it where only death could erase the curse[352]), Disease Manipulation (The demonic curse caused a hideous plague and dire famine[353]), Morality Manipulation (The demonic curse had people's hearts turn black and murderous, where the weak were slain without pity[354]. The curse gave Hector an immense thirst for vegeance, attempting to make him kill Issac so that he could possess his body[355]. Dracula can cloud one's senses in darkness, having the evil eat away at their souls[356]), Madness Manipulation (Barlowe was driven made by the power of Dominus, making him willing to give his life to resurrect Dracula[357]. Those that had evil eat away at their souls were driven to madness, having them make a pact with the devil[358]. [https://youtu.be/hu_2bedvcQE?t=2126 Brauner using Dracula's power was noted by Charlotte that just the sight of him could drive an ordinary person mad[359]), Glyph Manipulation (Conjures gylphs across the ground that create explosions[360]. The gylphs also summon enemies to attack[361]), Explosion Manipulation (Creates massive explosions from his glyphs[362]. With time in Castlevania being so potent that not even eternity can withstand time[370], along with even artificial life being subject to the laws of time[371]), Text Manipulation & Plot Manipulation (Passive; Vital Souls are all just a part of Dracula's powers[372], where is noted by Lucy that the "vital soul" of a monster is the cause of the grimoire chaos[373] where creatures of the night's dark powers allowed them to rewrite the Grimoires to greatly strengthen their dark powers[374], along with Their vital souls causing the grimoires contents to be overwritten changing history to things such as Jonathan Morris is now at a disadvantage in battle[375], or Charlotte fading from existence due to them messing with the history of the Grimoires[376], Maria starting to fade because Richter's history is being rewritten[377], where if the books contents change the creatures magic will keep growing and eventually overflow into reality, causing the grimoire to fall into chaos and even more monsters materializing into the real world[378]. The text alterations also make the monsters stronger[379]. With the real world and world of grimoires being one and the same[380]. Death was going to use Dracula's magic to rewrite Dracula's defeat to Trevor making it where Dracula defeats Trevor Belmont instead where Dracula would go on living in the rewritten grimoire with each grimoire being its own world and the grimoires influence extends into reality[381]).

Resistance to Extreme Heats (Unaffected by moving so fast he catches on fire[382]), Extrasensory Perception (Dark Lords are incapable of being sensed by the likes of Death[383]), Attack Reflection (His reincarnation can attack and harm Graham Jones, where he's absorbed the power of the castle, and inherited Dracula's powers[384], where Dracula's mere rib bone reflects all projectiles back[385]), Darkness Manipulation & Hell Manipulation (Dracula has a natural resistance to the darkness element[386]. With time in Castlevania being so potent that not even eternity can withstand time[391], along with even artificial life being subject to the laws of time[392]), Sealing (Dracula's power allowed Soma to easily repel away a multi-layered seal called aurora a multilayered rectangular barrier ritual that was supposed to isolate Soma and then remove Dracula's powers from him[393]. Even while greatly weakened, when the Aurora was used on Dracula, he greatly resisted it, requiring two master magicians to affect him[394]. Dracula's power is so great that very few magical items can truly hold his magic within a seal, requiring the usage of an entire library worth of grimoires in order to truly seal away just his magic alone[395]. The only reason Brauner was able to seal away Dracula was due to him not reviving completely otherwise his seals would be easily broken by Dracula's power[396]), Fire Manipulation (Dracula is naturally strongly resistant to fire based attacks[397]), Electricity Manipulation (Dracula is naturally strongly resistant to thunder based attacks[398]), Poison Manipulation (Dracula is naturally immune to poison based attacks[399]), Spatial Manipulation (Brauner using Dracula's power spatially segregated Dracula from the castle[400]), Power Modification, Information Manipulation, Text Manipulation & Plot Manipulation (Dracula's magic and powers have no limits posed on it from the grimoires where heroes summoned from the catalogue are unable to stray too far from its contents and have limited actions they can do having summoned heroes have their powers greatly limited from their true strength[401]), Fate Manipulation & Death Manipulation (Death serves Dracula with unfailing loyalty[402], where Death is noted to govern the fate of death[403], being noted to have the power to govern the end of all living things[404], and can use his scythes to kill abstractions such as distance and sound[405]), Immortality Negation (The Vampire Killer is unable to strip Dracula of his immortality whereas the Vampire Killer can render immortal skeleton death gods like Death, mortal, having him bleed from attacks, giving him mortality as shown when Death dies to his own scythe cutting off his head and having blood spurt out, something not possible as a skeleton[406], and can kill Death to the point that he requires Mathias to survive in order for him to rise from the dead[407])

The castle has blocks that float and levitate up and downwards to crush opponents or send them into spikes[429]), Immersion (Can bring paintings to life and have them attack[430]), Mimicry (Physiology Mimicry; The castle contains mirror worlds where perfect clones of oneself can fight[431]. The Castle can also do this without mirror worlds[432], where they make a perfect copy that have all of their moves and sub-weapons, and can freely switch to a different person to copy their abilities[433]), Teleportation (The castle has access to the teleporter seat, the seat of a device that allows instant movement across Valachia[434]. The Castle corrupts the minds of those who enter it, such as making Maxim Kischine feel strange ever since coming to it[444]. It also corrupted the mind of Hugh turning him against Nathan with Nathan noting he's being controlled by Dracula[445]. The castle increases one's dark desires, allowing Dracula to easily control them[446]. The magic of Dracula's power that empowers the owl enemy also spurs it to violence[447]), Madness Manipulation (The Castle warped Gergoth, a once-gentle beast and drove it mad[448]), Elemental Manipulation & Chaos Manipulation (The castle infuses some enemies with chaos, giving it all elemental properties[449]), Blood Manipulation (The casle imbues blood all over a skeleton, making them always return to life no matter what damage is done to them[450]. Michelle even being at the entrance to the castle had her body telling her to not go in and her leg muscles being petrified like stone[455]), Perception Manipulation (The Castle is able to warp the users perceptions, making a room where it is split into three parts that do not operate under standard spatiality and directionality[456]), Gravity Manipulation (The castle has rooms with reverse gravity[457]), Curse Manipulation (The Curse status that spirits inflict[458] comes from them absorbing the magic power around the castle. Equipment

  • Castle A & B: Castle A & B serve as essentially Maxim Kischine's Castlevania, where his magic flows throughout both castles.

  • Heart of Vlad: This is Count Dracula’s heart, which, when held, prevents the holder from being petrified.
  • Rib of Vlad: This is Count Dracula’s rib bone, which, when held, prevents the holder from being poisoned.

Other

Standard Tactics: Much like regular Dracula, Dracula's Wraith does not directly fight the opponent, instead having enemies and the Castle fight them. If the person survives all of these, then Dracula's wraith opens his cape and releases three-directional fireballs. He will then expel seven flaming spheres as his second attack. If defeated in his first form, he will enter his second form, a giant amalgamated version of all of Dracula's remains, where he has a long and extendible tentacle, and will shoot a large energy beam out of his eye. He will also stop for a moment and perform a luning-downward swipe.

Weaknesses

Note

Trivia

  • Dracula Wraith's Japanese voice actor, Takuo Kawamura, performed four characters in Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance: Maxim Kischine, the Merchant, Death, and the Dracula Wraith.
  • When correctly starting a Hard Mode game, the Dracula Wraith's attack phrase is spoken upon confirming.
  • Despite the Dracula Wraith using the six relics Juste Belmont obtained to form its body, Juste still has access to them all in the Relic screen during both battles.

Several hundred years have passed with battles with the [dark lord] Dracula.
When suddenly, an end to it all has been foretold. 1999----- Thanks to the power of a clan in Japan, Dracula’s castle was sealed inside a [solar eclipse] to disappear forever.

Indeed, people have prepared for this but will it still exist? The castle is the symbol of the chaos within humans and as long as people exist, it will not be completely sealed.

  131. WN: Last question. Why does Dracula keep putting meat inside the walls of his castle?

KI: You should ask, why do they eat it! I've thought about this stuff.
I've actually thought about the candles. The candles are people's souls that were taken by Death or by the vampires. In Japan there are candles that represent life. So, when you release the souls from the candles by whipping them, they give you a "thank you" present. Thank-you hearts, or thank-you holy water.
The meat, I have no idea.

“…… If so, why did you take power away from the crack in the eclipse’s seal? If you just intend to imitate like a monkey, isn’t your own power enough?”
Those were the emotionless words of Death.
In response, Olrox laughed his bold answer.
“As I’ve said, I would equally gain control over the human world and the source of Dracula’s power, chaos. I do not intend to obey someone else’s mind aside from my own. That includes you who were born out of chaos.”
    “……”
“You should be glad though to know yourself. Just by stealing power, my shameful monotonous time is over…… Even before Alucard appeared, just because I showed up and declared war on him.”
Olrox’s voice was mixed with a tinge of thin delight. He respectfully bowed to Death who completely killed his emotions.
“I would end the reincarnation cycle of this demon castle. I who understood and was spun out of the stains of chaos, swear to rob that power with my hands. Now, yield.”
With Death’s reply, an explosive murderous intent rose.
Two bronze colored scythes much larger than usual appeared; it advanced to the space in between the two men with an intention to cut off Olrox’s head.
    Kill the distance-----
    Kill the sound-----
    Just, faster, soon, die.
It can be seen that the blades have certainly caught Olrox’s neck, but----- that is only an after image and the vampire is already at Death’s back.
    “……die.”
That was said by the enemy who called on his servants.
From the surrounding space, a group of purple bats rose, passed by Olrox’s arm with the speed of a bullet, attacking Death. However, Death did not show any gesture of avoiding them. He simply faced Olrox and sprayed out numerous scythes.
The bats and scythes cancelled each other out and the entire dance hall sparkled with blood."

The youth had more than 28 holes penetrating his limbs and body. His heart is already starting to fail and he is desperately trying to say something amidst the darkness.
    “Only…… protect…… you……-----“
When he said those words he must say, the man’s soul already left his body-----becoming one of the floating spirits that wander the halls of the castle.
    However-----
    Fate did not allow it.
For those people who are involved with the demon castle, even the loneliness of death seemed half hearted-----
The man’s soul is pierced by a small scythe that flew in from somewhere. That scythe did not exist physically. It was a diabolic blade created by some magic and possessed a strong soul."
