An aspect of Chaos that is the source behind Draucla's powers.

Background

Chaos is a looming threat across the Castlevania series, with a face of itself being the central antagonist in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. This dark, primordial entity originates from the chaotic essence within humanity itself and serves as the primary source of Dracula’s tremendous power.

As a force opposed to divine order, Chaos has the unique ability to appoint a Dark Lord by granting its chosen individual the Power of Dominance. This power allows the Dark Lord to control monsters and influence those humans susceptible to negative emotions, often aligning them with darker intentions. In the year 1476, Dracula gained this dark power through a pact with an Evil God, allowing him to unleash vengeance upon humanity and pursue a campaign to eradicate mankind.

Due to his connection to Dracula’s soul, Chaos later chose Soma Cruz to become the next Dark Lord, setting the stage for a dramatic confrontation. Soma, realizing this dark fate, embarked on a journey to enter the Chaotic Realm, determined to resist his destiny and rid himself of Chaos’s influence. Along the way, he encountered Julius Belmont, a famed vampire hunter, and the two fought. Soma asked Julius to make him a promise: if he could not escape the darkness, Julius would have to end his life.

Eventually, despite Chaos’s formidable strength and efforts to overpower him, Soma succeeded in defeating this eldritch entity, breaking the hold of darkness on his soul. With Chaos’s defeat, Dracula’s Castle, which had been sealed within a solar eclipse, was finally released from its celestial prison and disintegrated, leaving no trace of its ominous presence.

As Soma returned to the earthly realm, the descent felt almost like waking from a long, strange dream. In his mind, he heard the voices of his friends—Yoko, Hammer, Julius, and Genya—offering words of encouragement and farewell, supporting him as he returned to his human life. Upon fully regaining his senses, Soma found himself safe and at peace in Mina’s arms back at the Hakuba Shrine, leaving behind the shadows of the Chaotic Realm.

|-|Chaos Creature Abilities=

Superhuman Physical Characteristics (Even the smallest creatures of the night can destroy a bridge[33], one of Dracula's bats easily destroyed a stone ground block[34]), Intimidation (Creatures of the nights appearances can cause one to have their body's cells cry out in terror[35]), Immortality (Ageless; The biggest hindrance to humans when attempting to accomplish something being their limited lifespans, a limitation that cannot be overcome, however dwellers of the darkness do not apply to the laws of the human world, ignoring such limitations[36]. Immortal Metaphysical Aspect; Creatures of the Night can continue to exist even as a spirit and use their spirit form to form bodies out of inanimate material around them[37]), Acausality (Causality Immunity; All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[38]. The biggest hindrance to humans when attempting to accomplish something being their limited lifespans, a limitation that cannot be overcome, however dwellers of the darkness do not apply to the laws of the human world, ignoring such limitations[39]), Free Will (Creatures of the Night do not follow the hand of God and instead choose of their own free will[40]), Empowerment (Creatures of the night are empowered by the night[41], becoming stronger when it's night time[42]), Evolution (Creatures of chaos can inherit evil natures[43] awakening into stronger enemies with new abilities and less weaknesses[44]), Resurrection (Self-Resurrection; Creatures of chaos can be brought back to life from the power of hate[45]. This has also been shown with slain heads reviving as an angry wraith[46]), Regeneration (Mid-Godly overtime; Even the castle from Castlevania is a Creature of Chaos, [47] where they are always rebirth from Chaos with each rebirth, the creatures takes a new form[48], with this state being referred to as a "regeneration cycle"[49]), Invisibility (Creatures of Chaos possess a natural aura of darkness, which makes one unable to see those with an aura of darkness by the naked eye[50]), Time Manipulation (Passive; All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[51]), Darkness Manipulation & Subjective Reality (Creatures of chaos very existence causes dark powers to flow beyond the control of the Elgos' grimoires, due to them collecting documented information on Dracula and his castle. Causing their power to materialize in the real world in the form of monsters[52]. With the real world and world of grimoires being one and the same[53]), Text Manipulation & Plot Manipulation (Passive; Creatures of the night's dark powers allowed them to rewrite the Grimoires to greatly strengthen their dark powers[54]. It is noted by Lucy that the "vital soul" of a monster is the cause of the grimoire chaos[55]. Thier vital souls are causing the grimoires contents to be overwritten changing history to things such as Jonathan Morris is now at a disadvantage in battle[56], or Charlotte fading from existence due to them messing with the history of the Grimoires[57], Maria starting to fade because Richter's history is being rewritten[58], where if the books contents change the creatures magic will keep growing and eventually overflow into reality, causing the grimoire to fall into chaos and even more monsters materializing into the real world[59]. The text alterations also make the monsters stronger[60]. With the real world and world of grimoires being one and the same[61]), Law Manipulation (Creatures of Chaos can alter grimoires, which do not adhere to the laws of reality[62]), Power Modification (Creatures of the night alterations of the Grimoire can greatly limit the powers of those far stronger than them, such as Jonathan Morris' power being limited due to the alterations[63]. The Chaos of the Grimoire destabilized the magic of the others[64]).

Resistance to Ice Manipulation & Absolute Zero (All enemies in Castlevania III: Dracula's curse can eventually break out of being frozen from Sypha's ice magic[65]. Along with this to protect against ice attacks in series, one normally wears rings that help them resist against absolute zero[66]), Time Manipulation (All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[67]. With time in Castlevania being so potent that not even eternity can withstand time[68], along with even artificial life being subject to the laws of time[69]. Some creatures of chaos are immune to time stop, normally being boss level creatures[70]), Fate Manipulation (All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[71], with fate being a truth wound by time[72])

Superhuman Physical Characteristics (Vampires are considered far larger threats then standard creature of the night monsters[73]), Immortality (Ageless; Vampires defy God's decree that life should be limited, and exist for eternity[74], with Mathias noting he has eternal life[75]. Aeon notes that vampires exist for eternity[76]. Walter is noted to be a vampire that has eternal life[77]. The biggest hindrance to humans when attempting to accomplish something being their limited lifespans, a limitation that cannot be overcome, however dwellers of the darkness do not apply to the laws of the human world, ignoring such limitations[78]. Immortal Metaphysical Aspect; Vampires will someday come back to life despite them being killed due to being immortal[79]), Acausality (Causality Immunity; All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[80]. The biggest hindrance to humans when attempting to accomplish something being their limited lifespans, a limitation that cannot be overcome, however dwellers of the darkness do not apply to the laws of the human world, ignoring such limitations[81]), Free Will (Vampires do not follow the hand of God and instead choose of their own free will[82], defying God's decree[83]), Enhanced Senses (Vampires can smell that Reinhardt Scheneider and Carrie Fernandez smell different from the usual adventurer[84]), Surface Scaling (Vampires can stand on ceilings[85]), Flight (Vampires can either naturally levitate grow wings to fly[86], turn into a bat[87], or into mist[88]), Immersion (Vampires can infuse magic into paintings to increase their power[89]), Empowerment (Vampires are loved by the night, making them so powerful that vampires like Walter Bernhard never been defeated before Leon Belmont gained the vampire killer[90]. Noted by Leon that the night should help Joachim Armster as well due to him being a vampire, with the only reason it doesn't is due to Walter holding the ebony stone[91]), Resurrection (Even if one somehow manages to kill a vampire, they will someday come back to life despite them being killed due to being immortal[92]), Transformation (Shapeshifting; Vampires can assume the shape of a wolf, a bat or fog[93]. Vampires can disguise themselves as huamns[94]), Teleportation (Vampires possess the ability to teleport freely[95]. Even non-threatening vampires such as Rosa, fade out from view[96]), Power Suppression (Vampires can submerge their own vampiric powers if needed[97]), Life-Force Absorption (Vampires can consume one's lifeforce[98], allowing them to heal themselves through biting into a victim[99]), Vampirification (Vampires can turn others into vampires[100], Walter turned Rinaldo's daughter into a vampire[101]), Invisibility (Vampires possess natural aura of darkness, which makes one unable to see those with an aura of darkness by the naked eye[102]), Time Manipulation (Passive; All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[103]), Animal Manipulation (Bats serve under the control of vampires[104], being freely spawnned by any vampire[105]), Cloth Manipulation (A vampire's blood can transform clothes, such as Hector combining a vampire's blood with a prince's clothes to get Dracula's clothes[106]), Electricity Manipulation (Vampires can sometimes have electricity form around them as they transform[107]), Soul Manipulation (The candles in Castlevnia are people's souls that were taken by Death or by vampires[108]).

Resistance to Temperatures (Vampires bodies turn cold, with them feeling no heat[109]), Biological Manipulation (Vampires biological functions are no longer required for them[110]), Time Manipulation (All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[111]. With time in Castlevania being so potent that not even eternity can withstand time[112], along with even artificial life being subject to the laws of time[113]),Death Manipulation: "Death" loses all meaning for Vampires, as they[114] defy God's decree that life should be limited, and exist for eternity[115]. Where even if one "kills" a vampire they will simply just come back as they are not bound to death[116]), Fate Manipulation (All immortal beings disrupt the flow of time according to Aeon[117], with fate being a truth wound by time[118]), Law Manipulation (Vampires defy God's decree that life should be limited, and exist for eternity[119])

|-|Dracula's Abilities=

As Mathias absorbed Walter's soul to become Dracula[120], he has: Escape Prevention (Upon entering the forest Leon, Rinaldo noted that Walter made it so Leon could not leave[121]), Darkness Manipulation (Due to the Ebony Stone[122], his demonic power allows him to make it eternally night in the forest under his control[123]), Energy Absorption (Walter can get hearts out of objects and enemies, where hearts are a measure of one's stored energy, thus one is absorbing energy when gaining hearts[124]), Domination (Walter has demons under his control[125]), Sealing (Walter sealed away the Forgotten One due to an enormous uncontrollable power it had[126]), Blessed (Noted that Walter is beloved by the eternal night[127]), Teleportation (Teleported Sara to his side[128]), Electricity Manipulation (Walter uses electricity to appear before Leon[129]), Telekinesis (Telekinetically returned Sara to Leon[130]), Sleep Manipulation (Walter can put one to sleep[131]), Invulnerability (Metaphysical Invulnerability) & Forcefield Manipulation (Passive; Walter is completely immune to attacks from Leon[132]), Light Manipulation & Teleportation (Can create pillars of light that he teleports around[133]), Energy Projection (Can shoot out energy projectiles[134]), Homing Attack (Walter can shoot out energy projectiles that home in on the target[135]), Explosion Manipulation (Can shoot out orbs that explode on impact[136]. With Demonic Megido, can release a massive blast of energy that explodes outwards[137]), Transformation (Transformative Arsenal; When using Demonic Megido, Water transforms into his stronger demon form[138]), Fire Manipulation (Conjures multiple pillars of fire underneath the target[139])

Superhuman Physical Characteristics (Noted that Dracula's strength exceeds even that of a werewolf[145]), Human Achievements (When disguising himself as Malus, he could masterfully play the violin[146]), Weapon Mastery (Bow & Arrow Mastery; Dracula in his Malus form wields a bow and arrow that he can shoot deftly[147]), Animal Taming (Dracula can tame bicorns[148]), Intimidation (Put fear into Isaac who felt he spoke out of line from just a glance[149]. Dracula is noted to be the most terrfying creature in existence[150]), Large Size in some of his true forms (Supersized; Appeared this large when unleashing his true form against Reinhardt Scheneider/Carrie Fernandez[151]), Aura (Dracula merely pushing out his aura was enough to make Richter and Maria flinch[152]. Dracula's evil aura is far greater then the fake Dracula he sent to fight Reinhardt and Carrie[153]. Dark Lord Soma has a thick darkness and suffocating evil due to having Dracula's aura[154]. Dracula has a natural aura of Darkness around him[155]), Immortality (Ageless; Mathias through absorbing Walter's soul denied God's decree of limited life and lives for eternity[156]. Life and Death Immunity; Death serves Dracula with unfailing loyalty[157], where Death is noted to govern the fate of death[158], being noted to have the power to govern the end of all living things[159], and can use his scythes to kill abstractions such as distance and sound[160]), Reincarnation (Non-Cycle, Memory Remembrance; Despite being[161] killed for good by[162] Julius Belmont, Dracula's soul reincarnated into Soma Cruz[163]), Regeneration (At least Low-Godly normally; Freely burned away his body to fly out with his soul to create a new form[164]. Can regenerate from just his blood[165]. Regenerated back a new body from just his head[166]. His Wraith Spawn while heavily weakened regenerated from his entire body being destroyed[167]. Mid-Godly with Regeneration Cycle; Dracula has a regeneration cycle that allows him to come back as long as chaos exist within humans[168], only being ended by sealing his castle within a solar eclipse[169]), Reliance (On Humanity's Evil; Dracula will keep coming back to life due to the evil minds of human beings[170]. It is noted that Dracula's resurrection is not fueled by his own magic but through the lust for power, jealousy of others, belief in evil, the human emotions that fuel his resurrection[171]), Supernatural Resilience (Can live as just a head, using his head to form an amalgamation of five demonic faces with an exposed brain[172]), Extrasensory Perception (Dracula's eyeball can see invisible objects[173]. Dracula's eyeball can see something that has been cursed away from sight. Dracula could sense the connection between Annette and the Belmont family[174]. Can see the Bitterfly, a mutated insect, visible only to magicians[175]. Soma Cruz upon awakening to becoming Dracula could sense where Alucard was[176]), Transformation (Shapeshifting; Dracula can transform into different manners of beast and alike, during his fight with Simon Belmont he turned into a large white creature[177]. Appeared before Simon Belmont as a flock of bats[178]. Mathias can transform into a bat[179]. Can transform into a werewolf[180]. Dracula used what remained of his magical powers to transform his body into mist after Christopher defeated him[181]. Can turn into a beast that moves so fast it catches on fire[182]. Body Morphing; Can morph his body to sprouted wings, allowing him to fly with that, asides from his occassional levitation[183]. Has done this against Richter/Maria to unleash his full power[184]), Flight (Dracula can fly in a manner of different ways he can either call upon the Power of Darkness[185], giving him a form with massive wings[186], transform into a bat[187], naturally levitate[188]), Afterimage Creation (Moves so fast he leaves afterimages behind[189]), Intangibility (Phasing; Upon appearing in his fight against Simon Belmont, his head phased through the floor and then the rest of his body appeared[190]), Empowerment (Made a pact with an Evil God, allowing him to call upon its power to help him[191]), Resurrection (Self-Resurrection; It is noted by the Elgos, a group that fully documents all of history within the Grimoires, that Dracula normally can only be resurrected once every 100 years without the influence of human emotions causing irregularities[192]. Through this end he can gather the magic needed to revive through negative human emotions[193]. Repeated Resurrection, Resurrection of the Deceased; Through absorbing human blood, even on his corpse, he can come back to life[194]. The battle between Desmond Belmont and Rohan Krause was enough to revive Dracula[195]. Dracula has also shown to be able to resurrect from merely a single drop of blood hitting his body[196]. Resurrection of Multiple Targets, Resurrection of the Deceased; Dracula revived dark gods with his powers[197]), Reality Warping (Passive; Merely through transforming Dracula warped the very background of his castle[198]. Dracula can possess Devil Forgemasters to bring himself back to life, such as when he possessed Issac to resurrect himself[218]. Dracula's remains created a second spirit within Maxim that possessed him[219] leaving Maxim's body and possessing Dracula's remains[220] spawning way to Dracula's Wraith[221]. Merely absorbing Dracula's magic corrupts one and turns them into another Dracula[222]), Statistics Amplification (Dracula's strength increases each time he revives[223]. Every 100 years[224] Dracula gets[225] stronger and stronger[226]. Noted by Richter to get stronger every reincarnation[227]), Statistics Boost (The more Dracula's hatred increases, the more the power of Chaos empowers him[228]), Statistics Reduction (It's noted that every 100 years[229] the forces of Good mysteriously become weak and the forces of Evil gain a foothold into the world[230]. Noted that Dracula can grant humans immortality, with The Order attempting to resurrect Dracula in order to receive greater power and eternal life[260]. Even while sealed and deceased, Dracula's darkness alone covered Barlowe, having his strength return to him and giving him the power to destroy his seal[261]), Fusionism (Dracula was able to fuse the abilities of a bat with those a human[262], in an alternate timeline), Creation (Dracula's evil and magic is the reason why devil forging exists, which has one create a devil[263]. Through merely the use of his remains and using Maxim's will a castle similar to Castlevania was created[264]), Corruption (Dracula used his last bit of magic to turn Soleil Belmont into a terrible demon[265]), Attack Reflection (Passive; Dracula's mere rib bone reflects all projectiles back[266]), Nullification (Passive {For all of them}, Curse Nullification; Dracula's mere eye has the power to negate curses[267]. Petrification Nullification; His mere heart has the power to negate petrification[268]. Poison Negation; His mere rib has the power to negate poison[269]. Sealing Nullification; The power of Dominus can completely rid seals[270]. Soma himself even refers to it as the power to rule[285]. Some refers to it in Dawn of Sorrow as "the power to seize the souls of my enemies"[286]. This domination even applies to inanimate objects giving him abilities[287]) Power Mimicry (One of the Dark Lord candidates that inherit his dark powers[288], Dmitri Blinov, can perfectly copy techniques after just being hit by them[289], copied the Power of Dominance from Soma Cruz through touching his soul and copying his ability[290]), Information Analysis (One of the Dark Lord candidates that inherit his dark powers[291], Dmitri Blinov, who scanned the the memories of Soma's past lives[292]), Subjective Reality (Noted by Maxim that the Castle was forged from the fabric of his mind, bringing what was in Maxim's mind into reality[293]), Erasure (Metaphysical Erasure; Dracula's magic can overpower and erase one's will and spirit, with Albus only surviving due to gaining the blood of the Belmont clan[294]. Abstract Erasure; Noted through Soma using Dracula's power of dominance he can erase Death from existence[295]), Regeneration Negation (Atemporal), Immortality Negation (Life and Death Immunity), & Irreversible Damage (Through Dracula absorbing Death's soul Death was also destroyed along with Dracula[296], even though Death appearing in the books is through nothing more than him possessing his image written in the text[297], where he can reform himself endlessly and no damage actually mattered to him[298]), Hellfire Manipulation (Dracula's fire attacks are all hellfire, as even Desmond using fire attacks channeled from him are describe as such[299]. Can shoot out 3 fire projectiles at once from his cape[300]. Can shoot out green fireballs everytime he jumps[301]. One of the Dark Lord candidates that inherit his dark powers[310], Dario Bossi, has the ability to create fires, being implicated in countless inexplicable fires[311], and burned an entire room[312]. Along with this Dario can use fire to teleport[313]), Holy Manipulation (Can use Demonic Megiddo[314], which contains holy power[315]), Crystal Manipulation (Can cause various crystals to come out of the ground to attack his foes[316]), Vacuum Manipulation (Can create a strong vacuum to pull one in so he can bite them[317]), Matter Manipulation & Metaphysics Manipulation (Dracula's evil and magic is the reason why devil forging exists[318], with the mere remnants of his magic being so strong Hector can use them to create an Innocent Devil[319]. Devil Forging has one to giving it a shape and soul, giving it a shell and applying stable power to the shell so the mass of energy without conscious can be transformed into a living devil[320]), Blood Manipulation (Can spit out blood as an attack[321]. Can create spheres of blood from his attacks[322]. Causes an entire blood rain to fall, with over hundreds of droplets, where if even one hits, it will deal damage[323]), Soul Manipulation (Dracula can use soul steal, to steal one's soul, absorbing their entire existence within him[324]. Can disconnect his soul from his body[325]. God is unable to help the souls of those terminated by Dracula's hand[326]), Animal Manipulation (Can shoot bats out of his mouth[327]. Can shoot out three bats to attack[328]. Sends out bats to attack for him[329]), Mind Manipulation (Dracula put Soleil Belmont under his vampire spell[330]. The suppressed desires of Maxim Kischine caused another spirit to be created due to him holding the remains of Dracula[331]. Dracula's remains alone are enough to consume their mind, even being noted by Barlowe that dominus devours the mind[332]. Not even the sacred blood of the Belmont Clan was enough to keep Albus from subcumming to the effects of the Dominus[333]), Memory Manipulation (Accepting the Dominus interferes with one's memories and emotions[334]. Dominus was the source that took Shanoa's memories[335]. Dracula's magic showed Hector visions of his past with a form of his child self trying to convince him to become a devil and promising to be friends if he does so[336]), Empathic Manipulation (Accepting the Dominus interferes with one's memories and emotions, stripping Shanoa of all of her emotions to the point that she could not shed a tear for Albus despite everything he did for her[337]), Fear Manipulation (Dracula's mere rib bone is enough to make[338] an oridnary hero feel like a spineless coward[339]), Death Manipulation (Metaphysical; One attempting to use the Dominus will cost them their life, Shanoa using it nearly killed her only being saved by Albus taking her place and having his soul fade away[340]), Weather Manipulation & Electricity Manipulation (Caused dark clouds to appear and came from a bolt of lightning[341]. Cause massive electricity around the area before appearing[342]. Causes multiple lightning bolts to rain down as he appears[343]. Sent down electricity attacks against Desmond[344]. Sent out a massive electricity wave[345]. Creates massive electricity orbs from his gylphs[346]. Summoned electricity from his hand that went across a small area[347]. Electricity formed around him while he transformed into his adult state[348]. Easily pushed Cornell back with the electricity field around him[349]), Curse Manipulation (Dracula placed a curse on[350] Simon after Simon defeated him, one that could only be undone[351] by finding the five body parts of Dracula, resurrecting him and then defeating him[352], though if Simon takes too long he will die from the curse regardless of killing Dracula[353]. The Curse also weakened Simon to where he was starting off with a leather whip, which is a weaker form the whip takes for inexperienced users[354]. After being defeated by Trevor and his friends, Dracula left a demonic curse that enshrouded all of Europe in misery and torment[355], this curse keeps festering even if Dracula dies, where Hector needed to put all of his life-force and energy into dispelling the curse, greatly tiring him to the point that he was ready to die in the collapse of the Castle if Julia did not come rescue him[356]. Along with this, even with the curse being removed, the curse was far too deep within people, making its mark hard to leave them, with some characters having it where only death could erase the curse[357]), Disease Manipulation (The demonic curse caused a hideous plague and dire famine[358]), Morality Manipulation (The demonic curse had people's hearts turn black and murderous, where the weak were slain without pity[359]. The curse gave Hector an immense thirst for vegeance, attempting to make him kill Issac so that he could possess his body[360]. Dracula can cloud one's senses in darkness, having the evil eat away at their souls[361]), Madness Manipulation (Barlowe was driven made by the power of Dominus, making him willing to give his life to resurrect Dracula[362]. Brauner using Dracula's power was noted by Charlotte that just the sight of him could drive an ordinary person mad[364]), Glyph Manipulation (Conjures gylphs across the ground that create explosions[365]. The gylphs also summon enemies to attack[366]), Explosion Manipulation (Creates massive explosions from his glyphs[367]. Shanoa with the dominus is using a power of Dracula's[373], where Aeon notes that power is governed by time[374]. With time in Castlevania being so potent that not even eternity can withstand time[375], along with even artificial life being subject to the laws of time[376]), Text Manipulation & Plot Manipulation (Passive; Vital Souls are all just a part of Dracula's powers[377], where is noted by Lucy that the "vital soul" of a monster is the cause of the grimoire chaos[378] where creatures of the night's dark powers allowed them to rewrite the Grimoires to greatly strengthen their dark powers[379], along with thier vital souls causing the grimoires contents to be overwritten changing history to things such as Jonathan Morris is now at a disadvantage in battle[380], or Charlotte fading from existence due to them messing with the history of the Grimoires[381], Maria starting to fade because Richter's history is being rewritten[382], where if the books contents change the creatures magic will keep growing and eventually overflow into reality, causing the grimoire to fall into chaos and even more monsters materializing into the real world[383]. The text alterations also make the monsters stronger[384]. With the real world and world of grimoires being one and the same[385]. Death was going to use Dracula's magic to rewrite Dracula's defeat to Trevor making it where Dracula defeats Trevor Belmont instead where Dracula would go on living in the rewritten grimoire with each grimoire being its own world and the grimoires influence extends into reality[386]).

Resistance to Extreme Heats (Unaffected by moving so fast he catches on fire[387]), Extrasensory Perception (Dark Lords are incapable of being sensed by the likes of Death[388]), Attack Reflection (His reincarnation can attack and harm Graham Jones, where he's absorbed the power of the castle, and inherited Dracula's powers[389], where Dracula's mere rib bone reflects all projectiles back[390]), Darkness Manipulation & Hell Manipulation (Dracula has a natural resistance to the darkness element[391]. Dracula's mere ribs protects from the powers of wickedness[392]), Holy Fire Manipulation (Can take holy water hitting him, with it only momentarily having him cry out in pain, before emerging just fine[393]), Curse Manipulation (Dracula's mere heart clears curses[394]), Time Manipulation (Noted that the stop watch has no effect on moving platforms in the castle and most bosses[395]. With time in Castlevania being so potent that not even eternity can withstand time[396], along with even artificial life being subject to the laws of time[397]), Sealing (Dracula's power allowed Soma to easily repel away a multi-layered seal called aurora a multilayered rectangular barrier ritual that was supposed to isolate Soma and then remove Dracula's powers from him[398]. Even while greatly weakened, when the Aurora was used on Dracula, he greatly resisted it, requiring two master magicians to affect him[399]. Dracula's power is so great that very few magical items can truly hold his magic within a seal, requiring the usage of an entire library worth of grimoires in order to truly seal away just his magic alone[400]. The only reason Brauner was able to seal away Dracula was due to him not reviving completely otherwise his seals would be easily broken by Dracula's power[401]), Fire Manipulation (Dracula is naturally strongly resistant to fire based attacks[402]), Electricity Manipulation (Dracula is naturally strongly resistant to thunder based attacks[403]), Poison Manipulation (Dracula is naturally immune to poison based attacks[404]), Spatial Manipulation (Brauner using Dracula's power spatially segregated Dracula from the castle[405]), Power Modification, Information Manipulation, Text Manipulation & Plot Manipulation (Dracula's magic and powers have no limits posed on it from the grimoires where heroes summoned from the catalogue are unable to stray too far from its contents and have limited actions they can do having summoned heroes have their powers greatly limited from their true strength[406]), Fate Manipulation & Death Manipulation (Death serves Dracula with unfailing loyalty[407], where Death is noted to govern the fate of death[408], being noted to have the power to govern the end of all living things[409], and can use his scythes to kill abstractions such as distance and sound[410]), Immortality Negation (The Vampire Killer is unable to strip Dracula of his immortality whereas the Vampire Killer can render immortal skeleton death gods like Death, mortal, having him bleed from attacks, giving him mortality as shown when Death dies to his own scythe cutting off his head and having blood spurt out, something not possible as a skeleton[411], and can kill Death to the point that he requires Mathias to survive in order for him to rise from the dead[412]), Power Mimicry (One who copies the Power of Dominance requires their soul to withstand the power that it holds, being unable to control it and having the demons under their dominance come out of them[413])

  • Four Energy Orbs: The core launches four small energy orbs, each targeting a different corner of the room. These orbs gradually home in on Soma, inflicting heavy damage upon contact. However, Soma can destroy the orbs by dealing enough damage to them before they reach him.
  • Circle of Needles: The core envelops itself with a ring of sharp needles, which it then releases outward in rapid succession, each needle launching one by one in a circular pattern.
  • Skeletal Serpent: A massive skeletal serpent continuously slithers around the room, inflicting heavy damage upon contact with Soma. Occasionally, it will pause briefly and release a large energy ball, similar to the core's smaller orbs. This energy ball ricochets off the chamber walls before exiting the screen. The serpent is immune to all forms of damage and frequently targets Soma directly.
  • Four Eyes: Four demonic eyes are positioned in each corner of the room. While they do not possess any direct attacks, making physical contact with them inflicts significant damage on Soma. Defeating each eye will cause it to burn away, resulting in a reduction of the main core's defensive stat for a set duration.

Other

Standard Tactics: Chaos merely cares to ensure there is a Dark Lord for there to be a God and maintain a balance, through this measure it will bestow aspects of itself onto creatures and look for a Dark Lord.

Weaknesses: Nothing notable.

Standard Tactics: It starts by absorbing the soul of all things in its presence and proceeds to use abilities from this, afterwards it will shoot energy projectiles and send out multiple spikes, transforming into weird creatures to attack its opponent.

Weaknesses

Note

  • The reason for this profile handling both Chaos the concept and Chaos the boss from Aria of Sorrow is due to the fact that they both have the exact same name and the boss is merely a facet of the true Chaos so it would be redundant to make separate profiles rather then just compiling the two into one profile.

Trivia

  • Chaos is one of the three enemies in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow that doesn't drop any souls, along with Julius and Graham.
  • In The Dracula X Chronicles, during the final battle, when Dracula enters his third form, a large eye in a black void can be seen through a large, cracked hole in the background. The eye may belong to Chaos, signifying Dracula's usage of his full power. However, this is just speculation.
    • The same could be speculated for the final battle in Circle of the Moon, as a similar black void can be seen in the background while fighting against Dracula's final form. However, like the above, this is unconfirmed.
  • According to the novel Akumajō Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisōkyoku, Olrox seeks to control both Chaos and Humanity.[848]
  • Chaos originally had a planned enemy list entry which showed a picture of it not used in the game. This entry was eventually dropped from the final version, although it still remains in the game's files and can be viewed through hacking.

  108. WN: Last question. Why does Dracula keep putting meat inside the walls of his castle?

KI: You should ask, why do they eat it! I've thought about this stuff.
I've actually thought about the candles. The candles are people's souls that were taken by Death or by the vampires. In Japan there are candles that represent life. So, when you release the souls from the candles by whipping them, they give you a "thank you" present. Thank-you hearts, or thank-you holy water.
The meat, I have no idea.

  160. Akumajo Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku Novel “I had said it before. I do not intend to bind the world with chaos.”
“…… If so, why did you take power away from the crack in the eclipse’s seal? If you just intend to imitate like a monkey, isn’t your own power enough?”
Those were the emotionless words of Death.
In response, Olrox laughed his bold answer.
“As I’ve said, I would equally gain control over the human world and the source of Dracula’s power, chaos. I do not intend to obey someone else’s mind aside from my own. That includes you who were born out of chaos.”
    “……”
“You should be glad though to know yourself. Just by stealing power, my shameful monotonous time is over…… Even before Alucard appeared, just because I showed up and declared war on him.”
Olrox’s voice was mixed with a tinge of thin delight. He respectfully bowed to Death who completely killed his emotions.
“I would end the reincarnation cycle of this demon castle. I who understood and was spun out of the stains of chaos, swear to rob that power with my hands. Now, yield.”
With Death’s reply, an explosive murderous intent rose.
Two bronze colored scythes much larger than usual appeared; it advanced to the space in between the two men with an intention to cut off Olrox’s head.
    Kill the distance-----
    Kill the sound-----
    Just, faster, soon, die.
It can be seen that the blades have certainly caught Olrox’s neck, but----- that is only an after image and the vampire is already at Death’s back.
    “……die.”
That was said by the enemy who called on his servants.
From the surrounding space, a group of purple bats rose, passed by Olrox’s arm with the speed of a bullet, attacking Death. However, Death did not show any gesture of avoiding them. He simply faced Olrox and sprayed out numerous scythes.
The bats and scythes cancelled each other out and the entire dance hall sparkled with blood."

    “…..So it was.”
Once he recalled those numerous unfolding battles-----with a bitter smile exchanged words.
“Humans are…… strong. But, it is a fact that Dracula’s castle can be summoned from the chaos that are within them.”
    “Indeed……surely……that power……might be suitable for Dracula……”
Olrox’s body had collapsed but he answered Death with a fearless smile.
“The inheritor of Dracula’s name might emerge…… or might not……You however will…… forever roam as the servant of the night……no matter how many times humans strike you down. As long as humans exist, you being unable to perish……would you still continue to roam this world?”
Olrox seemed to laugh and took pity on the existence that is a contradiction. Death did not despise the loser and he just replied.

  559. "For those people who are involved with the demon castle, even the loneliness of death seemed half hearted-----
The man’s soul is pierced by a small scythe that flew in from somewhere. That scythe did not exist physically. It was a diabolic blade created by some magic and possessed a strong soul.
He understood that something is flowing inside him.
The quantity is small but he realized that this hot magma like thing is eating away his existence. But, in his state it is hard to differentiate whether he is losing control over his boy or his spirit. Still not understanding what is happening to his soul, Curtis just felt that he would soon fade away no matter what he does.
    -----That’s …… enough……
    -----I……don’t care……what happens anymore.
Curtis threw away all his feelings, and just wished.

    And----- his wish reached god.
However, that god is such in name, but his existence is far from Curtis’ faith."
  560. Akumajo Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku "“Cough…… Olrox…… you!” Death who was wrapped in the giant bloody hand felt the blood of humans eroding his body.
Olrox stayed floating in the air while looking at Death whose movement was sealed----- then in a calm voice said.
“You who were referred to as the undying symbol of death, it might as well be said that death has extended his arm on you.”
Death whose body was being eroded by human blood, confirmed that the blood was magical and had also absorbed other servants----- he shouted.
    “Aha……! You, including other monsters……!”
Not answering his question, Olrox just told his goodbye.
“Having your magic, I do not intend to control your soul. Crumble and fall into nothingness.”
    “Ol……ro……x!”
Death’s magic completely flowed into the [castle]. When that thing that was inside the giant blood sphere was confirmed to disappear ----- It then landed on the ground."
